You can pretty much buy too much of anything and everything here, most of which will sit in the fridge uneaten until you throw it away! I bought a HUGE jar of pepperocinis for $3 (don't ask me why!) 2 huge jars of Nutella for $12! They have pretty good produce at good prices... I usually just go for a hot dog, pizza or the free samples! read more

Okay, we love ALL Costco's. Each has it's own personality while also being basically the same big box of suprises and values. This one would benefit from being bigger, but better a small Costco than none at all, and we all know, space is expensive and tight here. This particular store can be a bit more of a nuisance when it comes to returns than other outlets, but still not horrible. I sometimes feel the line for returns is intentionally long to deter that activity, which you're less likely to find at some of the other local outlets. That said, you can always just divert and shop, the decide at the end to return or come another time. They clearly could put more staff on that line, which is what gives me that impression it's a bit of a policy particular to this store. That aside, we love the store, love the staff, love the Costco Buffet--read: tastings! And now that there's google.com/express, you can get many things delivered. I'll often just pick up my food & wine, and things that either aren't available on express, or that I need right away. Then at home, I go online and let my friends in the happy white fleet w/balloons all around bring the rest. No more need to lug that huge box of copy paper into the cart, then into my car, then into the office. YEAH!!! Loving google express. I can still enjoy my Costco marathon walk w/snacks, have the fun part of the experience, see what's new, but without injury. Also, with google express, you really get to see that you're saving a ton by using Costco rather than other stores. I challenge you to use it to explore the comparable cost per item of vitamins and more. It will make you love Costco even more. We've been to dozens of Costcos by now. Many in the Greater Bay Area, around the country, two in Mexico, at least one in Canada, one in the UK. Costco even made trips to the Hawaiian Islands more affordable. Love Costco more each day;) They are all great, and each has a little local distinctiosn based on the region, the shoppers, and more. We're longtime members of Costco and have shopped at various locations all over the country. Our membership has generally saved as a lot of money over the years. Tech & household goods selections are pretty good. Gas prices are the lowest in the area. Their returns policy is incredibly easy. In our experience, Mountain View Costco is generally what a Costco should be. We like to buy pre-prepared bulk meals because we hate to cook. The food selection here is AWESOME, with a wide variety of dishes available during most of the year. Contrast this to another Costco we visit (Santa Cruz CA), where the prepared food selection is AWFUL. It's all basically just meat & potatoes, week after week, year after year. One drawback of Mountain View Costco is that they don't have a gas pump. (We note that some of the ugliest inter-customer incidents we've ever seen have taken place at the Mountain View location. This Costco attracts some ugly, nasty people. Bad ju-ju vibe.) read more

Mountain View Costco, and the Redwood City Costco, were wonderful these past couple weeks as everyone came to stock up on food and household supplies. We are grateful for the hard working staff and the miraculous supply chain. True, many items were out of stock on March 13, and some items had limits (2 per customer for rice, beans, etc.) in Mountain View, but that was right after Santa Clara County announced that all public schools would be closed and everyone needed to stay home as a health precaution. The store clerks were super-efficient getting the empty boxes out of the way, re-organizing the remaining items to be sold, and working the checkout lines. THANK YOU! read more

It's smaller than other Costco locations - so there's not the variety you have at some of the other Costco stores. However, sometimes that can be good when you just want to find the basics and get in and out as quickly as you can. The only thing about this location the parking lot. The entrance to the lot is cramped, traffic can get backed up and people get impatient. I've witnessed a few near accidents because people get in too much of a hurry. read more

This location, right off the 101, has recently been expanded. As usual, parking is a zoo. They have a big inventory of tires here. Other than that, it's an ordinary Costco. There is an In-N-Out across the street. Costco requires a membership and carries a number of bulk items. We think it is worth it, not just for paper towels and toilet paper, but for tools, clothing and gifts. It is a great place to stock up for a party (flats of water, boxes of beer, party platters, take-and-bake pizza). Costco only has one type/style/brand of each food item, so if you are a brand person, you may be unhappy (one type of raisin bran, one brand of soy milk, etc.). Much of their produce is a great deal, but it is easy to get rotting food, so be sure to double check your berries and bell peppers. I especially love the strawberry tomatoes. Each location carries DVDs, books, clothes, and seasonal items. It is important to know that these items are stocked based on the demographic of the store, so each location is different and one might have items that are more your style than another. read more

OK people, your lunch should not be going to every sample station. People need to go shopping and get through the aisles with their shopping carts. Taquitos (EW!) are disgusting, why wait for that crap! That being said, when I decide to have a party, Costco is the first stop I make. I absolutely LOVE this store and all of the people who work here. They are kind, professional, extremely helpful and always willing to assist. They work hard and are always so happy. This location, like others, I assume, ANSWER the PHONE. Can you imagine that? Recently, I ordered a cake for a party and of course, wanted to make sure it was just write so I called to check on the order and the fellow in the bakery was so incredibly helpful, assuring me the order would be ready on time and even offered to make it sooner. I took him up on his offer and in no time, the cake was done. He communicated with me via text and advised me when it was done, when it was picked up and even sent me a little photo, bowing in appreciation when I acknowledged my thanks. Second time they did not bring all the items 3. It's the Costco closest to my work, but I'll go to this one over the Sunnyvale one. I don't think there's anything particularly special about this one. Same free samples, same food in bulk. Bring your little coupon book that you got in the mail or ask for one at the door. The lines? Perpetually long, typical Costco. My favorite part about Costco? The food! $1.50 hot dog & soda? Yes please! Ask for sauerkraut from behind the counter. Or I'll go for some cheap pizza. $10 for a pie! Chicken bake? Delicious! And a Very Berry Sundae or Churro for dessert. Done deal. Bad part - the parking lot. The entrance facing the In-N-Out is a nightmare. I'll go around by the McDonalds/Krispy Kreme entrance if I can. And wow, I didn't know there was a parking lot that could have so many bad drivers and so many people walking right in the middle of the lane, oblivious of the car right behind them trying to get by. If I didn't see the big Costco sign, I would've sworn I was in a Walmart parking lot. read more

Don't get the Carne Asada Bake! I come to this location for a cheap bite for lunch. It's pretty crowded even at lunch on weekdays so I tend to park far and not bother with it. Polishes are awesome as always. And I like my occasional chicken bake. The carne asada bakes seemed like a good bet but they're so bland and more pricey than anything on the menu. Save up for a good burrito elsewhere. read more

This location is my least favorite in the area. I do like costco and you can get som egreat deals here but you really have to watch yourself...it's easy to buy more of something than you will need which will eventually cost you more in the end if the item is perishable. But that's not really Costco's fault. I remember back in the day when this was Price Club and the early days of Costco where you could get movies for super good deals. Now the prices here are pretty much what they are elsewhere for all movies and games. You can still catch lots of deals here. One star is added for the convenient parking lot that us much easier to navigate than other Costcos. But that same star is taken away because they don't have a gas station! read more

I bought my mattress, pillows, and bed cover, and sheets at this costco - but it's not a one stop shop. I couldn't find a blanket or comforter. That's my only complaint. On the up side, they fixed my glasses for free, they're a mile from work, and they're great to walk through. read more

What a wonderful way to spend a few hours on a weekday afternoon, simply strolling down the aisles, imagining myself figuring out how to use 70 lbs. of oatmeal and wondering where I would store 5 gallons of dill pickles. Do I really need 75 microfiber dusting cloths? Why would someone want to buy 1000 aspirin tablets? I mean, maybe they should just go see a doctor... And the biggest question of all, Why have I never heard of the brand "Kirkland" before? The only problem is waiting in the long lines at the register. They just never seem to have enough employees to work at the check stands. read more

Of the many CostCo centers around, this one disappoints me the most.  How do the managers allow so many of their customer service colleagues to act as if helping a customer is some big hassle in their day?  And the wait times!  Have you ever come here to return something and NOT had to wait in a big line?  And the final issue for me is how this particular CostCo goes overboard with the sampling stations.  After I've wasted too much time in the returns line, I just want to get my shopping done.  But almost every end cap is clogged up with traffic as people park their carts and stand around eating the free samples.  I'd like to see some improvement, since going to better-run CostCo centers (Brisbane, for example)  is not as geographically desirable. read more

My mother is visiting, and took me around to Costco so I could see if it was worth getting a membership. We tried this store, as well as the one in Sunnyvale. Verdict: Sunnyvale has better parking, but this store feels less crowded. Price wise, it didn't seem worth it to me. There's only two in our household normally; most of this food would sit around and go to waste. So while I might be able to buy 2x the amount of an item for the same price as Safeway or Lucky, I'll be wasting at least 1x of it. The cost just doesn't work out. Add in the crowds, and it's just not my kind of place. read more

I think it was this Costco.... FOOD: 1.) $1.50 Hot Dawg! = Love the deal! woot! Comes with drink! Bottomless! Plus you can pile on the condiments!! 2.) Chigan bake = I remember I ate this looong time ago, and it tasted no different than brilliance! 3.) Combo Pizza = Pretty good when it's hot, but it becomes rather chewy if left sitting out. I think it makes my stomach work double time to digest, because it gives me nightmares if I sleep right after. Every time. No fail. SERVICE: Order at window.... I think you get it right awayish ATMOSPHERE: What I like about this Costco opposed to the others, is the outdoor seating with umbrellas which is perfect for one of those nice pleasant summa dayyyss. I love Costco. Costco is my Disney World & Disney Land rolled into one. It is the greatest place on earth. I love buying things from here because it's cheaper and I can buy certain things in bulk. Who doesn't want 24 rolls of toilet paper? It's sounds as if I'm being facetious but I'm not. I love having things in my house (non-perishables) in stock. It allows me to maximize my time and not have to constantly run out to get more of what ever I need. When I take inventory (yes...inventory) I know exactly what I need and I go get it before the levels get too low (I treat my house like a hotel...everything has to be available when needed). Whenever I go I always try to stay under $200...but it never happens. I always go off the reservation (where ever I shop) and it doesn't well with the wife. Since we have the Costco Amex, at least we get money back (I think it's 2%?) on our purchases and get a check to use at Costco. Yes I know they will constantly get our money with this method but we're going to shop there anyways regardless. If you shop a lot at Costco, get the Costco Amex card. It's worth it. The best time to shop is right when they open. If you have a list and know the location of the items, you can breeze in and out. Study the layout and you can hit maximize your Costco tour. The return policy at Costco is awesome. You can basically return anything anytime (electronics, I think, have a day limit). The food at Costco is great and cheap. The pizza, the yogurt, the churro, the chicken bake are all good buys and will fill you up. Get a Costco membership. You won't regret it. read more

I have been a member of Costco for many years and appreciate the great prices and policies they have. Unfortunately, my experience buying a cell phone through their wireless kiosk has been the worst experience. I got a special offer through the Kiosk - att buy one get one free iPhone 7 in August. But still have not receive a refund on my second phone. After numerous contacts with the kiosk manager there has been no progress. I went in person two times during the last 3 weeks and there is absolutely no follow up. I am out of $650 with this transaction. read more

I love the return policy for this place. I guess they caught on with the electronics scams but it was worth it while it lasted. (Back when... You could bring back any appliance, computer, phone, or whatever electronic purchase you made, years after you had beat that thing with a bat, and get your full money back... I was in the neighborhood and needing to kill an hour or so, with a vague need for a box of pull-ups for my youngest. Two hundred bucks later, and, well, that's Costco. This particular location is large. I mean, they're all large, but this one's bigger than my go-to one in Redwood City. And, even though the lines were really long for check out, the cashiers were flying, and it moved along nicely. The main gripe I have for this location is the parking lot. Getting in and out of here is always some sort of log jam. Maybe there's a side door to the lot, but the main entrance/exit is just a cluster. read more

Granted, I live in a lowly studio, and therefore never have the closet space or pantry space to really utlize the potential of this place, but it sure is great for the things that aren't perishable. Guess I was just lucky or it's great timing to come at 7pm to run errands with no lines for those specific services. Okay, now that I have finished laughing at the single guy who couldn't figure out what Costco would offer someone like him (obviously, he is too single to have any friends to shop with or invite over for a party, much less a barbecue or anything like that), I can write my review. This is a pretty nice Costco. Parking is a little tight but, unlike many other Costco branches, the store is not jam-packed on weekday evenings. This means you don't have to sneak over at lunchtime and cram all the perishables into the work fridge until it is time to go home. As with any Costco, it is an excellent place to get your staple goods (when I was single, I used to shop with one or more friends and divide everything up evenly), as well as a great place to get party food and drinks (the meat is always good and prices on booze and soda are great also). Need clothes? Pots and pans? Small appliances? Home fire extinguishers (which everyone should have)? Gifts (especially at Christmas and Easter)? Video games? Flowers for your sweetie? Flowers for the yard/balcony? Diamond rings? Fancy crystal? They've got it - all in one place. As for the food court, it is a great way to get an inexpensive lunch or dinner. And, um, the hot dogs and Polish sausages are kosher. That means they are all beef with no by products or anything like that. Of course they still aren't all that *healthy* but eating them once in awhile won't hurt you. And you can't beat the price. Most charge cards are not accepted but Costco does take Amex. read more

Another one of my dad's all-time favorite places. I'm always so embarassed when he says, "Let's go to Costco to eat samples for lunch!" Well, I guess it's not that bad since I can always buy a really cheap lunch there. I enjoy their chicken bake sandwiches. Naturally, the attraction of Costco is that their stock constantly changes. You never know what they'll have. Unfortunately, this frequently results in the Costco/Trader Joe's phenomenon where you'll visit your Bay Area friends and notice that everyone has the same food and snacks. The fruit is always great here and the rotisserie chicken is really good. When I come back to visit my parents, I usually stock up on stuff I need by shopping at Costco. They also have a pharmacy and eye glass center here. I've gotten eye glasses here quite a few times. Their service is okay. read more

I have a love-hate relationship with Costco. I love the fact that you can get a mega box of dino nuggets for under $8, but I hate the fact that you get tired of eating dino nuggets before you're even half way done with the box! I used to frequent two Costcos: Redwood City and Mountain View. The Redwood City location used to trump the Rengstorff warehouse b/c it had an optical section. Rengstorff recently opened up an optical section, so there's no longer any reason to drive north. Plus, as folks have mentioned, the Rengstorff Costco is near an In 'N Out, Krispy Kreme, Office Depot, McDonald's, and a pet supply store. I'd give Costco five stars if it weren't for the super long lines, the bad drivers who don't know how to park, and the fact that they sold out of bananas. I did, however, venture to Costco around 6 pm on a Monday. It was a near ghost town. I loved it -- except for the fact that they ran out of bananas! Who does that? read more

I've been coming to Costco since the dawn of man, but I never thought twice about submitting an actual review of the place. Well low and behold, today is the day the seas part and Costco becomes a part of my mindless Yelp review family. Just a note, this review is only about the food court. Due to a scheduling conflict I didn't have enough time to peruse the aisles and get my impulse purchaser on. So we will have to save that for another day. If you've ever been to a Costco food court before, you're probably already familiar with their high brow cuisine of hot dogs and chicken bakes. Okay, that's not entirely true. They also have gourmet polish sausages and pizza. and churros. I really could never understand the logic behind their eclectic menu. Perhaps Costco was created by a bff trio consisting of a German, Italian, and Mexican chef. Either way we all enjoy the fruits of their labors. I know you're asking "Chris, wth are you talking about? So how is it?" To that I say: 1) What's your deal?, and 2) its not too bad considering you get a crap load of food. The hot dogs and sausages are huge; of epic that's what she said proportions. And they're only a $1.50. The pizza is serviceable and is only $9.95 for an 18" large. Basically if you leave the food court not full its entirely your own fault. There is also something called the "Costco" challenge which you can search on your own. I don't want to spoil anything for you. So yea overall: not too bad, super cheap, and super big. This Costco isn't remarkably different from others, so eat away ladies and gents! read more

Wait wait.. what what...we all know Costco is AMAZING when it comes to fresh fruits/vegetables, great fish and meat in bulk, as well as kitchen electronics like Vita-Mix blenders. They even have plants, furniture and drugs. That's par for the course; they're just stocking tons of stuff because they obviously have the space for it. They let you taste something before having to commit to it, and their return policy? LEGENDARY. But when on EARTH did they become such awesome bakers?! HAVE YOU TRIED THEIR CINNAMON ROLLS?!
