This is the best costco I've been to in the Bay Area. The workers were nice and the gas line isn't long at all!! Wow what a difference from SJ, Sunnyvale! People are so rude at the SJ one too, but here I had a good experience and people including the shoppers are nicer here. Also, the guy when he checked our receipt put a smiley face for my son. Haha that was nice of them! The only downside to this costco is the food lines are long.. why is the line for pre-paid longer than the cash line? They seem to only take people from the cash line and make the pre-paid people wait?! At the SJ/sunnyvale locations there is never any line for food, and if there is usually it's the cash line that's long not the pre-paid..weird! read more

I agree with Jessica up above. I run over something on the freeway and blew the side wall of one of my 4 tires BF goodridge that I had just bought at Costco about 5 months ago, paid over $230 each. Jose pro rated the tire that blow up and I paid $100 for a new tire. Jose was very helpfull. I have to commute to this Costco and it is so worth it. I live in a city where there are three Costco locations at about the same distance. I love this Costco. This Costco is always clean and the employees are always friendly and helpful. And they keep the same products in stock. The food court staff are always very pleasant, the food court is always clean and the food is always delicious.. And of course cheap. The Dr. In the optical department was a very friendly and professional man. His secretary was nice and helpful. I didn't care so much for the employees who help with choosing the frames, or lack of help with frames is more like it. They weren't helpful or attentive. Just not very sociable or friendly people. I haven't used their photo department but I've heard good things. This Costco is not like other Costco locations, it is far superior. read more

My family lives in gilroy and i really like going to this location because its not crazy crowded like all the other ones in San Jose. Sometimes ill get a ringer who is a complete ass (to another worker not to me but i still want to punch them for the worker) but most of the time they're really friendly. There is always room to push your cart. there is still samples and the gas line doesnt go around the parking lot. read more

This location really holds to Members Only ESPECIALLY when requesting to use the restroom only. US Law prohibits member warehouses excluding general public for use of the pharmacy. One would assume that using a toilet would be inclusive. Why the hell was I stopped when asking nicely for use of restroom????????? Train your folks better for exceptions. All Costcos allow proceeding forward for use of food court and pharmacy but obviously would prefer the general public to piss anywhere. Zero flipping stars!!! read more

So today I called to place an order for ONE pizza before heading to gilroy so when I get there it can be ready ,well I was told 25 min for my order to be ready I got to costco went shopping and after 35 min I had called to place my order I paid for my order and got in line to pick up the girl said 7 more min to be ready which really took like 20 more since they didnt really had put my order in the oven by the time I got there...so it really took about 50 min for my order over the phone to be ready,and I would understand if I see they were really busy but their oven was empty and even this guy which I believe is the manager there can only take out the pizza from the oven and let them cold on the table instead of cutting them....come on!!! This is the best Costco in the bay area! In my opinion anyway. Pros: -Less crowded (by far) than any other Costco in the bay area -Lots of yummy samples served by nice people (although some of the servers are sometimes mean and seem to hate their job). -Great, high quality products. -Reasonable price for everything. -GREAT customer service! -Inside food court. -Extremely fast cashiers! Cons: -Food court lines can be long. Very very long... -Sometimes you can't find the specific thing that's usually there...like cold medicine for example. -Mean sample servers (sometimes). Even though this Costco has some cons, I am giving it 5 stars since it's customer service is EXCELLENT, the location is clean and well organized, and I am usually satisfied upon every visit. Costco is Costco but This one is Clean and Rarely ever Run out of Samples like the other ones. LOL. (Samples are VERY IMPORTANT When were all shopping while hungry) ;-) Gas was $1.99 the other day and even though it felt like all of San Sanfrancisco was in line, the workers kept their eyes on the flow of traffic and had people in and out of that baby quick and Very efficient. Workers were Even walking around opening people's gas caps to speed up the procedure. ( I mean, you'd think people would have their shizz together while they've been waiting in line. Some people like to wait to pull up to the pump AND THEN LOOK for their membership cards. UGH. Get it together people or go to AMCO. ) But back to COSTCO! The one in Gilroy is The Best. It's annoying now that Costco will be opening up early every day for them. Costco without the crazy lines. You can actually sit down and eat your lunch in their food court. If you live close enough to go to this Costco, I would definitely recommend it. Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention the HUGE pumpkin pie for some ridiculously low price. Don't forget to pick up a three pack of whipped cream while you are at it. read more

We have used this Costos often, but here is the funny part, we have never been inside the main part of the Costco. Because of the location of this Costco, we usually stop here for gas and only have used the gas station. What we have to say about this Costco is only good news, but again we are only doing this review based on the gas station. The staff here is very nice and will help you at a drop of a hat, the station is clean and well mainted, so it is everything you could ask for a gas station, they do have what you need to make sure you can get in and out of the station as fast as possible, and generally the longest time we are here is to fill the tank and wait for the receipt. read more

Out of all the Costco's I've been to, this is my favorite because the crowds are smaller, the lines are shorter and the parking is easier to find. One of the downsides is that they don't always have all the products that some of the other Costcos might have (One day, I realized after a 15 minute exhaustive search, they didn't have cashews). I am very disappointed that a few years ago Costco changed their hot dogs from Hebrew National to their own brand. It's not as good anymore. I'm also very disappointed that they changed their cashews somehow. It's also not as good anymore. Today, I had the pleasure to use the optometry department for en eye exam. It was all very quick and efficient. I didn't time myself, but I was definitely in and out without fuss or wait. They take walk-ins all the time. read more

Love to shop here. But buyers beware. If you see something you want, be prepared to buy it that day. If you decide to wait, it probably won't be there the next time you go. And be prepared to spend a TON of money, because you'll basically want almost everything they have to offer. After going to this Costco I totally remembered how a Costco is supposed to have a good selection of items. Costco Monterey is horrible and lacks a decent selection. I think we need to be under new management. This one was well stocked, had a lot of the items I have seen at other Costco's in the US, and has friendly staff. If you're in the line for food and Nona is at the register, she will take any phone call before helping the person standing in front of her. Then when she does get your order she will step away from the register with a full line of people and start helping with the pizzas. Nona clearly needs more training or sent to the parking lot to bring more carts closer. Oh Costco, how you fill my refrigerator with a stockpile of groceries that may be suitable to feed me for a few months in an end of days situation. This Costco is tucked away and I almost drove by it but behind the trees on the right you'll find it. This Costco is clean and organized just most Costcos. They have some pretty good samples and the customer service is great. Th lines move deceptively quick and this trip I manage not to get clipped in the ankles by a cart from anyone. They keep some empty boxes at the registers in case you need to carry your stockpile upstairs or from the car to the house. There's not much else I can say other than come through and get stocked up. You can go month's after one Costco trip. For quick math on the trip smaller items are $10 and larger ones are $20, that's usually a good rough estimate on the final price in your cart. Another tip I've found is that people with the big stuff move faster through checkout than the people with a bunch of smaller items. That's all I got, happy Costco hunting! read more

This place is great. $1.50 for a hot dog and a drink if you're hungry, or if you're at cheap as me, just go around and try all the free samples! Well, maybe not all of them, lol. The meat here is a "cut" lol, above every place else. They beat everyone else on price, sometimes dramatically. Their Orowheat bread is a real deal - 2 huge loaves for $6. To the other poster, they are actually accessible from Leavesley, you turn off of Leavesley onto that little road the old Walmart location is on (it's See Grins RV now) and go past Kaiser and Valley Medical Center and CostCo is right there. I'm reviewing Costco mainly for their tire department. My wife had a blowout and, as it turns out, needed to get all of the tires on her car replaced. We met at Costco, hoping they would have the tires in stock. Andy greeted us at the desk with a smile and was extremely helpful. He got us all set up with four new tires at a great price. An hour and half later we were on our way. As for the rest of the store, give the choice between Salinas and Gilroy (the two closest stores to me) it's not even close. During the week there are hardly any lines here. No waiting, no crowds, no problems. Throw in the fact that they have gas (which Salinas does not) and it's perfect. read more

Gotta say I love this place.. with a hungry husband and an 18 yr old son in the house, you can not go wrong with Costco. This one rocks.. My daughter went to have her eyes exam at the Costco Optometrist, Andrew Lu. They are not in VSP network so we pay out of network price. My daughter is switching from glasses to contact lenses. There are many brands to choose from. She is not sure which ones work better so she asked for a weekly disposable sample. She decided to go back and ask for the daily sample and the guy was very upset at her and was making very mean comment to her. I am very upset to hear that a professional with such education can't just say no instead making unprofessional comment to a teenage for asking. The girl at the front desk never smile and looked like she hate talking to people. Not sure how much a sample of disposable lens cost, but he just lost a whole family of customers. read more

I went in and showed the girl my moms card and she said I had be with her but I showed her we were related then we saw someone we knew and walked in with them and they bought it for us . Went to Cosco this last weekend. My intention is to have several pair of lenses put on cute frames I've bought this past months. I need options!!. I also have a several pair of high end sun glasses ,I would like to add my prescription and use them as well. We all know , I collect high end sun glasses. Since I needed prescription glasses , my sun glasses are useless to me. Well, I asked the young lady at the counter if I could purchase just a prescription lenses for my frames , she took one look at them ( they are inexpensive ) and she kind of threw them back at me ,and told me they would not touch them in her lab. They supposely had to many embellishments. I proceeded to explain to her, that this is why I bought them that I wanted something different. She told me no that it would not lenses to my frames because he had too many embellishments. I looked at her display and I ask her well I have Gucci glasses here ,and some other high-end glasses that I would like to add lenses to. I asked since she wouldn't do my so-called cheap frames would you she be able to convert my sunglasses into prescription classes. She laughed and said no those are not Gucci or Tom Ford. I told her yes they are ,they are both Gucci and Tom Ford and other brands . She proceeded to laugh out loud ,shook her head and walked away and left me talking to myself. She then went to the counter told or some thing to the other girl in the counter and they proceeded to watch me and Aaron ,as Aaron was trying on glasses. As if we were going to steal glasses,.I guess, she thought ,since I have so many glasses in my purse ,I might be a thief. After our eye exam we went back to the counter and asked for a different lady. She helped us and when I asked for name brand glasses she told me ,they were behind the counter and they were not allowed to show them. I asked her to show me the classes. She called the first lady that did not help us the first time. She came back with a smirk on her face. She named the prices of the glasses as she show them to me. As if I could not afford them. And she took them out of the case only one by one. After I looked at the glasses I noticed that the prices for extremely cheap even for the name brand sun glasses a fraction of what I normally pay in other places. So I could not understand why she was being careful with glasses that were really only two or $300. I am very disappointed in the customer service at Costco and Gilroy. We ended up buying a couple pair of glasses. I only did it so I can see the satisfaction in my husband's face when she had to ring me up. Boo Costco Gilroy you lucky only had a little bit of time and it's hard to get my husband to check his eyes, otherwise I would reschedule my appointment.And lady in the counter moral of the story , people in sweat pants can afford name brand glasses , worse Customer service ever !
