Our go to Costco. Everyone is always so nice and eager to help. Bathrooms are always clean and well stocked. Parking is like all Costco's wherein it is easy to get in and out as long as it isn't prime peak hours. We've gotten gas here a few times and it is the cheapest in the area. Overall, I'd say this Costco is definitely one of the best in terms of cleanliness, orderly and the most pleasant employees. read more

There's some friendly, helpful people working there and some pricks. At the checkout I've had two people ( one I complained about) that grabbed my cart while I'm leaning on it just to close a two foot gap by eight inches behind the customer ahead of me. I almost lost my balance and fell the one time. They think they're herding cattle and making a difference closing a five inch gap near the check stand. I'm smart enough to advance my shit through the line without some asshole yanking on my cart. The next time that happens, I'm seriously yanking back. read more

I gave myself a couple of days to cool off.. I was so upset after shopping at Costco on Sunday.. First let me say it was chaos.. It was extremely busy. Everybody was going different ways.. on top of that, I couldn't find the DINO NUGGETS or Cream Cheese.. Now I come just to purchase Dino Nuggets that's all my picky eater will eat.. I searched in chaos.. I finally get up to the registers and I was surprised there was somewhat peace, register lines were short.. Two people in every line.. I told the register helper named Amira, I had trouble finding the chicken nugget nuggets and cream cheese.. Amira, the register helper said cream cheese is in the fridge and the chicken nuggets are in the freezer.. I told Amira where did u think I was looking?? And Amira replied I don't know.. I said customer service response would've been like; it's in this aisle.. Then the register person, I didn't catch his name.. said we don't have aisles.. I just stopped dealing with this annoying conversation.. I said I pay to shop and pay to be here.. and I let them know I was going to write a yelp review.. if the employees would have maybe made sure, Costco was stocked with those items, bc I would have unloaded my cart and came back in.. I understood It busy it was.. but couldn't believe the customer service responses.. I live in Santa Cruz county and I have always had good experience at the Gilroy location, I choose to shop at the Gilroy location. Quality/Quantity - Stopped by to check out the wines, especially from the Paso Robles and SLO region wines. If you are following, you know we just did our winery tours which started in Napa. :) The prices here are so inexpensive, especially compared to what we paid at the wineries. But of course we are paying for the "experience" and memories, not just the wine. Atmosphere - Consistent. See all my other Costco Yelps. Open 7 days a week from 9am or 10am to 7pm or 8:3pm. Plenty of parking. They also have the following departments: Food Court, Gas, Pharmacy, Tire Service, Optical, Hearing, etc. Service - Self-service. Price - Always a reasonable price. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success at this location since 2003. Congrats on all your success since 1976, since Price Club. Viviana M was extremely rude and disrespectful! Came in to do a return right away, gave me attitude stating that I needed a sticker. I told her the guy in the front did not provide me a sticker, but I did inform him. I was making a return and she kept stating you need a sticker in order to return how am I supposed to know? I don't work there I've never received this kind of service at a Costco. It's always been great, but this employee is horrible. Her attitude needs to change. I hope you have a coaching conversation with her because that is no way to treat a customer. How am I supposed supposed to know your policies if your own employees at the door don't follow them how is that my fault? The lady that came after not sure if she was a manager, but I sure hope she wasn't because her attitude was as bad as Viviana. Costco Tire Department - Gilroy, California Costco customers, beware when doing a walk-in at the tire department in Gilroy. On Sunday, a Costco employee told me there were no more appointments available for Monday but assured me that if I came in before opening, my tires could be installed within 2-3 hours. I brought my vehicle in as a walk-in at 9:40 a.m. expecting a 2-3 hour wait. After four hours, I checked in and was told it would take another hour and a half -- nearly six hours total! Completely unacceptable. When I spoke with the manager, Daisy, she seemed surprised and said she'd check with the workers. She later told us they were working as fast as they could. My husband explained that he only did a walk-in based on what we were told -- had we known it would take this long, we would've scheduled an appointment. Daisy mentioned that two executive members had also done walk-ins that morning, unaware that we are executive members as well. She admitted the employee should have been more transparent about the walk-in process. When we mentioned leaving a review, she didn't seem concerned and said she'd probably see it herself. When I said I might contact corporate, she replied that it would just come back to her -- which makes me question whether customer complaints are truly taken seriously. Overall, this experience felt dismissive and full of excuses. You're almost always certain to find exactly what you want/like, however if it's an item you love-buy several as it may not be there next time. Their produce is the best around and their fresh bread is a must. I love that they have a wide variety of organic produce as well as wild caught fish. Their return policy is second to none, unless you abuse this return policy-it's no questions asked. And the big bonus their newly added chocolate chip cookies So worth the trip. read more

Don't mind this location so far, although I have had a few experiences that was racial profiling while I paid for my items. Thought I was stealing cause of my nationality and style of attire. But nevertheless I had a few kind people that have stood out despite the mean people that are in the mix. One recent example of a kind caring heart was an employee sweeping in the back where the soda is. I had to lift heavy soda boxes into the cart, I have a hernia and I'm not supposed to lift heavy weight, Mando was close by and had no hesitation to stop and come help me. Thank you for being so selfless and considerate to help me with putting heavy items in the cart for me and showing concern. I appreciate that greatly. I know elderly sure appreciate that sort of help so much, so Mando is crucial to working with Costco. I hope they treat him well and know every worker is just as important as the other. Job titles should not be held over others as if superior. He is very sweet and people like me with a disability or elderly need helpful observant staff like him. Give Mando his credit. Hope supervisor sees this. I give 5 stars to Mando for sure but 4 stars to Costco for the shameful mistreatment I've received a few times. read more

I had the most unfortunate experience today at this location. I accidentally left my Costco card in my other car so I needed a temporary one. When I approached the Membership desk, I was the only one in line with four employees behind the desk and two were assisting two other guests. No one acknowledged me nor indicated they would be with me soon. To my surprise, an employee gets in the same line and was helped immediately helped by Tammy. She then proceeded to walk away and starts speaking to guest eating pizza ( I'm still in line by the way) and then starts chatting with other employees as they walked by. At this point it's 7 minutes and I finally say, "Hi, can someone help me please? I have been waiting " Tammy then points to the other employee who was helping a guest and says, "she will help you." At this point I am incredibly irritated. Tammy finally decides to assist me. She told me instead of waiting I should download the app. I told her it wasn't about waiting, it was about being ignored. Her response was a condescending tone of "okay". No I'm sorry you felt that what , just "okay " and very clear by her expression, she was not okay with my response. What is baffling to me, I was at the customer service desk. Perhaps Costco management should remind their employees what the word "customer service" means. read more

Serendipity! I needed to fill my tank en route from LA to SF. Gas is expensive along that route but thanks to Costco I filled my tank quickly and saved a few bucks in the process. I pulled up on a Saturday afternoon and there was no waiting! I couldn't believe it. In LA there's always a long link unless you're there when they first open. A few people were waiting because they wanted the pumps with the hose on the driver's side. The thing is, the hoses at Costco are plenty long enough to reach over to the other side of the car. I guess people just don't realize it. It's much more updated than the Costo gas stations in LA. These have tap to pay and it works great! They can even pump your gas for you if you're physically unable. Just tap your horn for service. This Costco gas even has LED signs indicating which pumps are open. This Costco gas wins my vote of best Costco gas station of them all! read more

Terrible Service. DAMAGED MY CAR AND WONT HONOR REPAIRS!!! Purchased new tires at Costco January 2023. Tire technician stated that one of the wheel bolts was stripped and could not put on the final lug nut. The wheel would have 4 out of 5 lug nuts mounted. I come back in April 2023 to repair a flat under Costco tire warranty and a different technician stated the lug nut was missing. I had a 3rd party mechanic look at the wheel and stated the wheel bolt isn't stripped, but broken off. Costco technician lied about it and I filed a claim with Costco and they refuse to honor the claim. A WARNING TO OTHERS: Costco can and will damage your vehicle and you have no recourse. They don't care about their customers or their technicians lying about damage they cause to your vehicle. read more

The Tire Center - thank you Eder and Alex for installing my new tire. My Costco-purchased tire got a nail in it. The nail was near the side and was a safety hazard so they ordered a new tire. It took 2 days to arrive and I had an emergency and would have had to travel quite a distance on the spare, the donut. The warning light was red on the dash and I was stressed out. When the new tire arrived they got me in right away without an appointment and I was so relieved. Thank you so much for the special help. read more

Last week I had to transfer all of my prescriptions from Kaiser to Gilroy Costco pharmacy. As somebody who takes a lot of medication's, I thought this was going to be really difficult. I walked into Costco and asked a gentleman named Jose if he could possibly help me. He was absolutely fabulous, super professional, extremely kind, and patient with me. Today I found out he is the new manager! What a great choice you guys made! I have been in retail management for 40 years, so I definitely know what great customer service is. We went here to get some gas. There weren't a lot of people there so we just drove in there and filled the tank up. It went fast, though people were a little impatient at getting in and out. Came into Costco today and got lucky. I found toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Toilet paper has a limit of 1, but with the amount of rolls you get one is really all you need. Hand sanitizers were priced reasonably and I really like that it made your hands feel soft. The smaller bottle had a limit of 5 and the larger had a limit of 1. It was pretty crowded for being early in the day however I was in and out quickly. As always the staff was friendly and helpful. Getting ready for thanksgiving dinner with family and friends. 5 pound turkey even though it's not organic I know it's going to be delicious. Also had to get the ham and a couple of fixings this is not the full cart this is only the beginning. I also had a throw in a couple of pies for dessert it's good that Costco now has huge pumpkin pies.Love coming to Costco. You can always find a bargain and something you didn't know you needed. Beat the price on the bananas they're practically giving them away and they're always in good condition and not smudged. Cancel your membership now. Costco is the absolute worst. I'm on my second dryer and it's been less than six months and it's broken again. They refuse to give me a new dryer because the return policy is 90 days. The first dryer broke after eight hours of me getting it. It took me another week to get the second one. Now less than six months later, the second one is broken. They want to tell me they couldn't predict that it was going to break. Costco is ripping us off. They're selling us broken appliances. Costco is like Nordstrom rack or Macy's backstage. Go to the real stores and get your appliances. In regards to their food, their meat department sucks. Their steaks are overpriced and always taste sour. And their chicken is watery and it smells rank every time. read more

This Costco is great. Usually the lines are short so it makes shopping here less stressful. The prices are fair considering the quantity and quality of their products. Once in awhile they'll have a really good product that's limited which is a bummer because then when you need it again for a home project it's no where to be found. I had a small encounter though today with a clerk at the register. The clerk had a hard time counting not only the items but also money or cash. It took awhile and it held up the line. Shoppers were getting impatient. I asked how long it would take and she said I'm ready just waiting for the supervisor but that I can go somewhere else if I cannot wait. She said it with a bit of an attitude but started to ring me up because she saw that her line was getting longer and people getting impatient. In particular, I'd like to acknowledge the hearing aid department. We'd ordered a set of hearing aides for a family member. The person passed away before we could get them. These are a custom ordered + fitted item, they probably do not have to give a refund. But they did. They were so kind and understanding when it took me awhile to get in and take care of it. I was really impressed by their professionalism, their kindness, their patience and understanding. When I went in today, they had everything ready and got me out of there as quickly and painlessly as possible. It was kind of a hassle for them to do this, and nobody made me feel bad about it. They all smiled and just took care of it. I also got gas, ordered eye glasses, got some groceries and a snack and I have to say the entire place runs like a well oiled machine. I didn't wait long for any of it, despite it being busy. I actually commented to the manager that the employees seemed happy, like they like their jobs. She said she'd been there for over 20 years. She was smiling and didn't act bothered or rushed. It's refreshing to see camaraderie between employees + to see people taking pride in their work and doing their best. Good customer service is not that common these days. But I can tell you, Costco has it! read more

Is there anything more exciting than venturing into a Costco you have never been too before? For us Costco addicts, no there is not. The Gilroy Costco has all of the usual suspects. My only disappointment was that it did not appear to have any novelty local items. This is a larger Costco. It has a massive cold / frozen food selection, as well as the usual suspects. It is laid out in the traditional manner (A U going clockwise) with electronics, household items, fruits and veggis, meat/cheese, sundry items, frozen / cold foods, pantry items, and meds etc. The center is seasonal items and clothes. It is a busy location and the gas is located really close to the store so the lot is almost always crowded as is the inside. Coupled with its location in a strip mall area, its pretty packed in general. As I stated in my review of the Mountain View location, we do have some rules to help keep my Costco obsession under control: 1) NEVER EVER go in hungry. That 25 gallons of dill pickle chips is much easier to resist on a full stomach.... true story there. 2) Avoid the free samples. People seem to lose their minds with this stuff. They abandon carts with crying babies, block isles, etc all to get that tiny portion of hummus. I have been shoved aside by someone desperate to get a free piece of cheese. Honestly I have seen more dignity from actual starving people in a disaster zone but I digress. 3) Avoid the weekends like the plague. 4) See #1 5) Go often. Costco uses alot of psychology and the fear of missing out is one of them. Odd items you must have pop up then go never to return. I CAN'T MISS OUT AGGGGGGG 6) Know your codes: At costco any price ending in 0.97 means it has been marked down. Any price that is not a 0.99 or .97 such as say 0.49 means it has a manufacturers discount. and price with an * on it means its done and will not be reordered so stock up. If it ends in a .00 or a 0.88 a manager has reduced the price at that location to clear it out. 7) When in an unfamiliar city head to the Costco. They always stock local items you can't find at yours (like two pounds of single origin Kona coffee for 30.00 at the Kilaua / Kona store etc.) and have cheap gas. read more

I don't mind the waits, the crazy parking lot situation, or the people inside that are just two feet too close or stand right in front of something you need while talking on their phones. Since moving to Morgan Hill 8 years ago, Gilroy Costco as been my go to Costco. The parking situation is never that bad and they always seem to have most things in stock (even during the height of the pandemic - I didn't have an issue with them). The selection of products is comparable to other locations with the exception of Great Oaks since their warehouse is not as large as them. They also have a gas station, but I have yet to use it as the lines are always long. If you're in the area and need something OR just want to kill time, I would recommend checking out the Gilroy Costco. read more

I like the set up here in Gilroy photo and optical in the front as you walk in. Parking sucks but the store is clean and organized however The manager Robert in the bakery and the worker Fausto were not member friendly they lacked professionalism and their communication style was totally inappropriate and aggressive ! I had to get a third associate to help me and luckily I i was able to get something as small as silk milk 60 . This is a nice Costco, and the place has some unique products and offerings for Gilroy, not found at other locations too. I can rarely complain about any Costco unless faced with poor service or finding crowds galore where it takes forever to shop and check out to pay. My husband wanted to pick up a Pizza without me (im the card holder with the Costco account) and I wasn't sure if he would be able to go inside to the food court, without me. So I googled the question, and on Costco's main website it says "Yes, you can visit Costco Food Court without a Membership. However, you will not be able to take your Food and eat it in the store's Dining area, which is only available to members. Costco Food hall offers some of the best deals in town on hot dogs and burgers, as well as other Fast-Food fare like pizza." He called the Gilroy location, and spoke to Michael in administration. Michael answered the phone with attitude "This is Michael" and no other introduction. My husband still respectfully asked his questions, and Michael told him that "no, Costco's website is incorrect and you are not allowed to eat there without a membership". My husband asked for clarification, and whether this only referred to interior food courts vs locations with exterior food courts, and Michael responded with "I already told you" When my husband tried to clarify just one more time and ask if he would be able to utilize the food court and another location if it was outdoors, Michael's response was "If that's what you want to do." And then Michael hung up on my Husband !!! If this is a representation of customer service, to someone who is not a member, Michael would have single-handedly turned away a potential new member. read more
