Came into Ross to do some Christmas shopping for family and friends. They have a huge variety of items to choose from such as clothing shoes purses beauty products pet items and household goods. Chose my items I was gonna purchase and found some good deals and great savings. Paid cash and when I left the store I noticed that the bill that they had given me was counterfeit. I immediately called the store spoke with David and he was very helpful in getting me a new bill and taking the counterfeit 1. I will definitely shop at the store again knowing that they will meet my needs and always have me leaving as a happy customer. read more

Customer service is horrible. I bought a shelf that was sticking out of my cart funny because of its size. After I paid for it, I was trying to get the cart out the door. I struggled for a few minutes. (staff was all in front talking near me) After struggling for awhile I finally started getting the doors open to get the cart out.. and the guy in the front says "carts can't go outside." OK? So nobody could have told me that while I was attempting to get it out? So then I had to struggle to get the cart back IN with no help and made a few trips to my car in order to take everything out. My girlfriend was in search of an outfit for her son's graduation in Boulder. Because we're expecting cold and possibly rainy weather, she decided she wanted to wear pants and a blouse. So we were on a mission. I'm not a big Ross fan and have only been in a Ross a handful of times. Those view times that I've been to one, the store was quite messy and unorganized. It's really difficult to search for clothing when everything is thrown all over the place. However, this location wasn't like that. Clothes were actually hung on racks instead of thrown on the floor. Sizes were in the correct location and clearance items were on the clearance racks. There were many available dressing rooms and they were clean. The prices were extremely reasonable for the items she got. The cashier was quick and we were out there without delay. read more

On a mission for outfits for a funeral. Found some great deals, nice selection of men's pants at great prices, many under $20; socks and even a black tie ! Disappointed there weren't any suit jackets or white shirts, but we found jacket and shirts at the outlets (Van Heusen). If you don't have time to shop around and need a whole men's suit/outfit, Van Heusen is a good one-stop shop (except for shoes), otherwise Ross was pretty impressive. We even found black lace-up shoes at Ross. I found a small purse (blue denim for my day-to-day use and) black on the flip side (apropos for funeral) for $10 !! read more

TOTALLY UNDERSTAFFED. Walked in today around 11am. The checkout line was literally 30 people long with only ONE register open. No amount of savings is worth standing in line for an hour. I walked out without spending a cent. Went to Kohl's and paid full price. My time is more valuable than saving $20 on a pair of shoes. read more

By no means am I looking for a luxury experience when I go to Ross, but my last trip turned me off so badly I never want to go back. When headed to the dressing room I was rudely stopped by the attendant for not getting a number before going in. The reason I didn't get a number is because I had no freaking clue he worked there. He was standing in a corner playing on his phone and did not look up once to great me or look at me when he spoke to me. He then pointed to the numbers and told me I could only bring 8 items in, I had nine. I walked over and grabbed a number myself since it was clearly an inconvenience for him to do it. Since he immediately went back to playing on his phone I didn't know where to put my last item, and he didn't offer to take it from me or hold it. I just left it on a rack outside the dressing room. I went in the dressing room, came out, and my last item was gone. He made no attempt at all to take the items I did not want, and didn't say a word to me until I said to him "great, now the sweater I wanted to try on is gone." He said "it's back here" (again, barely looking up from his phone). How the heck am I supposed to know you moved it when you don't look at me, don't speak to me, and are a total zombie of a shell. I honestly felt like I was a burden to this guy just for being there. If my boss were to catch me playing on my phone like that when I worked in customer service you better believe I would have been fired on the spot. What a joke. Like I said, not looking for a luxury experience, but quickly loosing faith in humanity with losers like this working in places I like to shop. read more

I don't know who is of this charge of this location, but it's a shit hole. Been here a couple times to shop, or at least attempt to. Place looks likes a tornado has passed through. Merchandise all over the place, on the ground, not hung up properly, just a mess. Provided you do find something, get ready to wait in line for an hour. Go elsewhere. Target a few stores down. If I could give them a 0 I would. Every time I go here the store is a mess. And I stand in line for about 15 to 20 minutes each time. They have about 5 cash registers and most times only 2 of them are being used. The reason I am finally leaving this review, today 6/21/19 I went there to get a couple of dog beds. I grabbed them up and went to pay for them. Once again there is a line of 10 people, I register working. Now there is someone standing in the return line. I noticed before that as soon as there is someone standing there, THEY get helped right away by that 1 lone cashier while the rest of us still are waiting. But, that is not the best part, while standing in this line, the cashier receives a phone call from some one in the back and I hear him say, "oh don't worry, I got this". I'm standing in this line, with everybody else wondering what he's got?!?! Right,?!? I'm in this line now for 25 minutes. I finally get to the cashier. Oh boy.....I ask him " did someone call you from the back and you said, you got this"? He said " yes" with a big smile. I said, " did you see the line"? He said, " yes I did...and they need to be back there doing their work". Ok, how many people think these dam big companies don't care about us, the customer anymore???? Because, right there, I heard it loud and clear. IT WAS MORE IMPORTANT TO GET WORK DONE, THEN TO HELP CUSTOMERS. Ross, you are one of the worst. Even your store shows just how much you care. Yuck! I wrote a tip about my experience, and I don't even want to go that much further into my horrific experience here. Lost my items.The employee didn't give a single F#$% about helping me look (which employees are workers, which means you work. and you do your F'ing job, and if your job is to keep PAYING CUSTOMER'S clothes and items stored while they try on their 8 item limit, then you do so) I came out to try on my remaining items, and switched my clothes. Tried em on. All of my "trying on" is done, so I would like my items that I placed with my other clothes. *I'm getting frustrated just typing about her reaction right now!** She literally twisted her head around to 'peek' at the floor and lifted her eyebrows like "welp, they're not here, not my problem!" Are you kidding me? This is your JOB. You get paid to "ACT LIKE YOU GIVE A F$%^" I went to the manager. Obviously. She was very nice, seemed stressed out because of what had happened that day at work. I honestly want to say that someone just up and quit. Well, you know who I think should quit? The owner of the company. So back to the nice manager... she helped me look for my items around the store, and made a few calls to the other employees, and she showed me the carts that had items "to go back on the floor" and we both could not find them. Some other customer most likely took them. Well I'm so glad someone out there is enjoying those three pairs of shoes, 'cause it ain't me!!!! Store was cluttered. Babies crying. Children running. (mostly from bad parenting, but that's what you'll find in Gilroy apparently) Lines super long! (well, one line one checker.. enough said) IF AND WHEN I return to this location... and I want to try things on.. You bet your bippy I'm bringing ALL of my 129378343 items in that room if that's what I have. So here's a tip people- get the manager to approve you bringing all your items in, and you won't have to deal with rude girls that lose your stuff! read more

Merchandise doesn't have a lot of variability and cashiers are extremely slow. You're honestly better off going to another Ross. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because people are friendly and prices are good, but other than that, there's nothing I enjoy about this store. This Ross has changed A LOT since it 1st opened years ago. It's a lot cleaner, has more security guards than it used to and makes sure you leave the fitting rooms with the same amount you waked in with. Their prices can't be beat when it comes to home goods and clothes. I see a lot of women's clothes that are in the plus sizes and even just bought a dress (size 16) for Valentines Day that I wore for my V-day date with my hubby of 8 years. This was our 11th Valentines day together. He loved the dress and I even posted the dress to this review. read more

The customer service here is unbelievable. My cart was full of heavy merchandise. The man who checked me out was very nice and told me to get my car, pull it up to the curb and the lady by the customer service place (right in front of the store) would help me. As I walked in to get my things, she just looked at me, kept talking to her friend and ignored my need for help. I was so upset! I wish I would've got her name and reported her. come to ross if you want to experience TERRIBLE customer service!!! if you love RUDE, arrogant, and unprofessional cashiers, come to this ross! if you love messy, crowded stores during a viral pandemic with 20-30 minute wait to check out, you'll enjoy this ross! i came in to do some shopping for my new house with my mother. i'm used to the chaotic nature of ross with unorganized merchandise and only 1-2 cash registers open. most times i am able to have a fairly average shopping experience, but today i was met with a cashier with an UGLY, repulsive attitude. as i was about to pay, the cashier repetitively spoke under his breath tell me to hurry up and continuously rolled his eyes (so much to the point where his eyes were ABOUT to roll out of his oversized head ). he was angry that i was trying to find a specific card in my purse which unfortunately at the bottom of my purse and took ONE extra minute to find! i confronted the cashier about his attitude to which he LAUGHED IN MY FACE! as someone who has worked retail, i understand the pressures of working in this environment, especially during these uncertain times. but, as a customer service position you should treat customers with respect. if you simply can't treat people with respect, just keep silent! thankfully, i was able to get in touch with the manager of the location. she was the only redeeming factor to this ross. she was very polite and was very understanding of this situation. read more

Crazy people come here, myself included. I only stopped in because I was at BevMo and I always check out the shoe section. I picked up a pair of $120 Anne Klein's for $24.99 and a pair of 4.5" madden girl from Steve Madden for $24.99 and Nine West heels for $27.99. Couldn't really be happier. My opinion does not represent the feelings of ross stores inc. Or any of its employees. As an employee I will give my honest not bias opinion and address the issues I have read here today. 1- FITTING ROOM: 8 Garments is the limit. If you have more leave them in your cart outside the fitting room try 8 then come back for the rest. No matter how many times you bitch and cry you can't take more. The person helping you is there 4 to 6 hours a day and she's not always in the best of moods because she's dealing with people who can't follow simple instructions. They are also not responsible for items left there while you try on items. Get a cart or a basket to avoid this childish issue. 2- COSTUMER SERVICE: Stores are sometimes understaffed or in shift changes mainly between 2 and 4 and 5 to 7. We experience a lot of call outs and sometimes managers have to call people to come in sometimes they do come in most of the time they don't. If they are rude its because they have no back up... need to take a break or lunch because they deserve it its actually a law. And they have to deal with foul attitude people who, I hate to break it to you, but the universe doesn't revolve around you. On that note if you shop for more than two hours and can't be in line for 7 to 10 minutes you need to rethink your schedule. 3- CLEANLINESS: As mentioned earlier stores are understaffed and its hard to keep a store clean when we dont have a lot of people working. Also some people are dirty and just throw everything everywhere you have the ability to pick up an item YOU droped, yes there are people to do that and it is their job, but come on didn't your parents teach you good manners? At least pick it up if you dropped it it takes three or four seconds max. 4- HOLDS: Holds are placed in the fitting room. They are placed there until the end of the night. No over night holds are allowed. That is in the rule book. 5- RETURNS: As stated in the back of the receipt. BEFORE 30 DAYS WITH YOUR RECEIPT YOU WILL RECEIVE A FULL REFUND OF WHAT YOU PAID IN THE TENDER YOU PAID (cash, debit, credit etc.) WITHOUT A RECEIPT YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW AN ID TO GET STORE CREDIT. AND THE CREDIT IS IN THE PRICE THE ITEM CURRENTLY IS SO IF YOU PAID $30 FOR IT AND ITS NOW $10.99 YOU ONLY GET THAT AMOUNT IN CREDIT. AFTER 30 DAYS YOU WILL ONLY GET STORE CREDIT WITH OR WITHOUT RECEIPT. WITH YOUR RECEIPT YOU WILL GET FULL CREDIT WITHOUT IT YOU WILL GET THE MARKED DOWN PRICE (IF IT HAS GONE DOWN). 6- KIDS- WE CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT CRYING KIDS. TRUST ME WE DONT LIKE IT EITHER. AND WE LISTEN TO THAT ALL DAY SO DONT COMPLAIN ABOUT KIDS TO US PLEASE JUST GO TO YOUR HAPPY PLACE. Also on the note of kids. Please for the love of GOD! ! If your kid is not potty trained please make them wear a diaper or pull ups. We dont wanna clean up your kid's mess and you dont have to walk around with a smelly kid. This is it. That's all I got. If you have any complaints about the store itself ask for a manager and they will give you the district managers phone number so you can call yourself and complain. Just remember that people working at ross or any other store are doing their best to provide good service they deal with complains all day so please be patient, follow the simple instructions we have written around the store and we will all have a more pleasant day. I go there at least once a week and there is one employee that just doesnt cut it in my book. I usually always see her working the dressing room area. She has the worst attitude iv ever seen in retail. I didn't see her there during the holidays but when I do see her I will literally buy nothing that involves me dealing with her. If you try on a piece of clothing and decide it's not the right one she rolls her eyes and gets mad that she has to put it away. Once I asked if I can leave my cart outside the fitting room area and she basically got mad that I even asked that but yet I was not aloud to take it anywhere else. Other than that the store always has new items in which I love. Everyone else is working on there customer service and I am pleased with that. The holiday crew did an awesome job at trying to keep the store clean as I know from working in retail it is hard to too. Overall the store gets 4 stars but the lady gets a 0. Ive come here 2 times in the past 6 months or so and it hasn't changed at all. The first time i went to this particular location it was a mess. The store was so disorganized and stuff was everywhere it was hard to find what you were looking for and its like you had to swim through the stuff that was all over the floor. The line was crazy long. I left without buying any of the things i looked so hard to find. I thought it was just because i came on an off day. It happens. But months later i went back and it was the same almost worse. I did buy some things this last time. The line was still long but it moved faster than the last time. Im pretty sure they are understaffed, i dont blame the employees. The security guards weren't very friendly. This may not be a make or break for some people but the carts can only be used inside the building. You cannot go outside the store with the cart. For me, especially the last time i shopped, this was an issue. I bought some pretty heavy/large items and really needed a cart to carry it out. I only have 2 arms and not everything could fit in a bag so when i found out by the security guard yelling at me that i cant push the cart through the door i almost thought he was joking. But unfortunately he wasnt. Luckly i had someone there with me who could help carry it out but what if i was alone? Would i have had to make 2 trips and risk leaving my stuff there? And yeah a security guard was there, but at that point i wasn't about to trust them to watch my things that ive paid for already given the state of the store. Just go to a different Ross until this one has improved. read more

I was in this store on Thursday the 5th of June. The store was a complete mess. There was merchandise and hangers all over the floor. A child slipped on a hanger on the floor and hit his head on the ground. There was no reaction from any employees. I mentioned it to the cashier and the only reaction was, "That'll be $___". What a lack of proper customer service training? Just because this is a discounted store doesn't mean you treat the customers like crap. The employees need to be trained on why they get a paycheck. This is a great place to shop l! It's a real bargain on everything...lots of good prices...so the service is not that good it could be a lot worse! So the store is a mess sometimes...it gets shopped really hard every day. Every customer has a part in the condition of the store...you all know who you are, the ones that leave things where they didn't find them, so what the prices and the hunting make the experience more fun. By the way those who complain about kids well its just sad you even talk about this in a review, the store can not really have any say how kids are disciplined. Really sad...that's all I have to say. Ross has Lots of great deals on name brand clothing and awsome prices on toys and decor.
