This is a pretty normal home goods store, fair pricing and normal employees. Never had an issue coming here. Mainly leaving this because you shouldn't leave a bad review of HomeGoods cause somebody blew up their bathroom and you can't wait till you get home. read more

I super dig this store. It's a little bit of a schlepp from where I am but I head this way when I have a reason to eg Costco run, or like today, when I was looking for a tree skirt for the Xmas tree. Called this morning and they said they had tree skirts ranging from $20 to $50, but that they were running out of the $20 ones. I didn't get there until evening so all the $20 ones were gone. I found an embroidered one I like for $30, marked down from supposedly $40. It's well made and fit around the tree perfectly. I called target to find out if they had any and they said theirs were $30 with a 30% discount but I didn't bother going there because in my experience the stuff here has generally been higher quality than at target and Walmart. I'm a happy camper and it's easy to pick up an impulse buy or two because the price point is so low read more

Very poor management. The manager herself was unable to provide customer service and lacked basic etiquette. This store needs a new manager immediately. I will escalate detailed concerns to the regional manager. I've spent thousands of dollars over the years at this store. However, I plan to take my business to a new location given my negative experience. I'm one of many customers. Hopefully immediate action is taken and mediate issues with this store. Staff is lovely. TLDR; met with snarky cashier service on a simple matter, left uncomfortable and disappointed.. but hey, maybe he was just having a bad day? Usually a good experience here... until today! My mom and I stopped in today. First thing I found a small and a large tea/coffee jar (same brand), each one costing $3.99. I had to get them! Walking around more, in one of the middle aisles, I found the SAME small tea/coffee jar I already picked up (just with a different design) marked as CLEARANCE for $6, and nothing was wrong with it; no cracks/scratches, etc. Confused, I wanted to take all three holders to the register to ask about the difference in prices because I wanted to get all three jars at the same value. When we went to pay, the cashier by the name of Jay, greeted us and began to ring us up... everything was fine... My mom saved the tea jars for last so she could ask about the prices before they were rung up. Calmly, she asked, "I was wondering why these two jars (referring to the small ones) are the same but they cost different prices?" He looked and said, "Oh, well this one is on clearance." My mom responded "for $6? Because the one not on clearance is cheaper and that's just kind of weird?" Cashier responded, "I don't know what to tell you, man," then proceeded to shrug and chuckle. My mom and I were taken off guard, and I responded to him, "Okay, well I won't get it then" and he replied, "any of them?" and I said, "oh no, just the $6 one, thanks." After all that, he asked my mom while she paid if she wanted to sign up for their credit card, and she simply said "it's ok, no thanks" and he came back with something like "ok, fine." My mom looked up and awkwardly laughed while saying (like making nice small talk), "fine? what do you mean that's fine?" and he again, kind of chuckled and responded something like "don't worry about it." THEN, after that awkwardness, as I was pulling out a reusable bag we brought, he looks at us and asks, "do you need a bag or do you not want that too?" and I simply replied, "no thanks, we have one." I bagged the stuff and didn't say another word and was relieved to leave. Not trying to exaggerate this story. Simply put, my mom was civil, not complaining or pressing for a change in price or anything. The cashier wasn't horrible to us, just simply rude with his responses and didn't seem to care about his language/body language at all. This isn't the worst thing in the world that could have happened to us, and we're not going to boycott the store or anything, but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth where I hope we never get him at check out again. read more

Ever since the pandemic HomeGoods Gilroy opened with staff that is below medicore. One incident I was looking at some items on a shelf where a poorly put snow globe sat, it dropped with glass shattering everywhere. I apologize, however not one of the staff asked if my son and I were okay. You'd think they see that we were okay given the fact that glass shattered all around us. Another experience was a customer enters into the exit area through the register, squeezes past me rudly then proceeds to continue to get close to me shuffling through popcorn right next to my shoulder. This customer was incredibly passive aggressive and didn't respect space. I had enough so I spoke up and asked her why she had an issue with respecting space. She of course didn't acknowledge that she was being rude so an argument got heated. When staff came over, I explained that this woman was not respecting my space. The worker ignores me and proceed to ask the woman if she is okay. As if this woman didn't just violate my personal space but also a mandate to stay 6 feet away. Upon leaving, I went up to that worker and asked her why she didn't ask me if I was okay and why she was more concerned about someone that was violating my space. Her response was incredibly rude saying people don't follow those rules. Okay but if a customer comes to you and says this person is not keeping her distance then they should tell the woman that if she is getting too close that they ask that she respect people space and If she can't do that then they need to ask her to leave. Simple, not only is it their policy at the moment with stickers everywhere but it's part of the mandate. I'm done shopping at the Gilroy HomeGoods as they need to work on their customer service skills. read more

As expected for a sister store of TJ Maxx and Marshalls, there's a serious boat-load of stuff inside these doors. I was on a hunt for a tree skirt and the main aisles of the store were full to the gills with Holiday knick-knacks of all sorts. I pushed my way past snow globes, 4 foot wire reindeer sculptures, angel bookends and glitter Santas to a 10 foot long rack -- all tree skirts! I had to filter through the country-embroidery and kitsch to find an elegant (and comparatively plain), red tree skirt perfect for our place. Definitely worth a stop if you're looking for something unique. I wouldn't be caught dead with about 85% of the items, but there's handful of useful things available for reasonable prices. A good selection of large mirrors and lamps, too. read more

My favorite store! What's not to love. They have great selection of home stuff from dishes to pots and pans, decors, wall decors, rugs, etc. Since this is a Marshall's and TJ Maxx sister store you can sometimes find the stuff in all 3 stores. They get new deliveries every week. My suggestion if u see something u like...buy it bcuz it may not be there the following day. read more

This store is always a mess. You go to Any other home goods and it's clean and organized. There is stuff everywhere at the gilroy one. My latest experience is I took two items to the front register and ask the clerk to hold them while I shopped. They were too big for my cart. She said "ok", when I went to check out my items were gone. They sold them to someone else. How disappointing that they are unable to serve their customers . All they had to do was keep it up there. All the merchandise in the store looked really familiar. Then I went back into the Tj Maxx 'Home Goods' back near my home and realized duhhh it's the same store! I don't know why one decides to make the Tj Maxx its primary sign and the other just Home Goods but never the less, you walk in here and you can kill hours just looking at everything. Especially if you have an empty home you just moved into. At least some savings can be made. This store didn't seem like it was much of a difference from all the other home goods store as the merchandise was virtually the same. read more

Employees here needs a whole lot of customer service training!!! Store manager needs to up his or her ante in training front line staff. It seems though that they don't know how to value customers here! Customers are the one bringing revenue therefore they should be treated with respect and dignity. There's two gentleman Staff that are totally jerks!!! One of them scolded at me and my family saying I need to take our dog out and that he is no longer allowed at the store. Home Goods is a good store to purchase for you home. The management team are horrible. Only one good manager and is Sam, she has a great personality, and only one good coordinator Gloria they knows how to speak and treat their team. The other managers and the coordinators have bad attitudes, don't know how to be professional. I don't think H/R or the higher ups, management team know how many times these horrible individuals have broke the laws from clocking in/out to the discriminating the employees about religion and church and school. They do lots of retaliation against the employees....against the youngster that are trying to finish up college....you can Expect to be retaliated and discrimination! They will cut your hours to nothing.....I have filed a complaint against the Gilroy store management team....Now waiting to hear back!! read more

Definitely the best customer service I have ever received at HomeGoods! I am a frequent shopper at the Gilroy HomeGoods and I am never disappointed. It is very well kept and the customer service I receive is for the most part really well. Every time I go I run into an associate by the name of Matthew, and he is always very friendly and willing to assist. Whether it's with a rug or a piece of furniture he is always well informed and is good at selling to the customer. He also rings me up sometimes and is very conversation friendly and has great knowledge about the stores products and how things work throughout the store such as shipments for items. I definitely love coming here despite the long lines and busy weekend because it's very much worth it. read more
