I came into the store yesterday ready to purchase a bag and I did a walk through to see if anything caught my eye. I walked around the store and nobody approached me or asked if I needed assistance or help. When my boyfriend approached the jewelry area he noticed he was being observed by a gentlemen. I told him to ignore it and continued to look for the "one" walked in front of several associates and was treated like I didn't exist. After my boyfriend noticed he said to just leave since we're being watched like we're going to steal something and no one is helping us. After he said that one associate approached and asked if we needed help. Same associate I had basically walked in front of and made me feel invisible. Really disappointed never had a bad experience at other locations in Southern California. Train staff better, we don't have to look a certain way to be treated decently. read more

Not being much of a Coach fan, I accompanied my mother in hopes of finding a good bag for her to gift. I arrived not expecting much and boy was I pleasantly surprised.... Coach has come along way since the last time I've stepped foot in ANY of these establishments. The designs are more appealing and have styles to reflect everyone of all ages. Store is neat, well lit, and there is never a shortage of associates to assist you for any of your needs. Due to it being an outlet, the assortment of bags are forever changing and the markdowns are such a steal!!! Long lines are a guarantee but what do you expect when everyone and they mama are trying to jump on these deals!! So this was my true reason for venturing out to the garlic capital of the world otherwise known as Gilroy and coincidentally, the shopping mecca of all of CA - the Coach outlet. I love my handbags and I was looking for a tote bag. The customer service and selection is pretty decent here. There is something for everyone and one woman had at least 8 handbags with her. The place was pretty packed and one would imagine there was some crazy sale and the outlet was going out of business but that wasn't the case. Bags were still marked up, even in the clearance section so sadly, this location doesn't quite have outlet prices and I didn't find what I was looking for. So we were quick to leave. read more

I never understood women's fascination with Coach handbags until I received one as a gift. My honey bought me a large Bleecker bag for Valentine's day. I'm not good at receiving expensive gifts because I can't help but feel guilty when I think about how many cases of diapers could have been purchased with the small fortune that my honey decided to spend. After my guy told me that my bag, normally $448, was marked down to $160- I stopped feeling so guilty and let myself appreciate how beautifully made these bags are. The craftsmanship is awesome. I was amazed at how the strap on my bag could actually be made into a leather belt! I had to see more! I went in a week later because there was a 20% off sale going on. The place was SO chaotic! I have never seen so many crazed women in one place in my life! You would have thought that this was a bridal boutique that was marking down Vera Wang or something! It was ridiculous! My girl Dorena helped me find a cute unique colored medium sized bag (another Bleecker normally $348 marked down to $89). Despite the madness- the line actually moved rather quickly. I was out of there in less than 10 minutes. Before the sale ended- I actually went in AGAIN! This time, my mother in law wanted in on the action. I lucked out again, because she ended up treating me to a Bleecker wristlet to match my bags! SCORE! I'm usually not one to recommend chaotic stores to friends- but the customer service was spectacular. Of course there were women shopping like crazy in here, THATS WHAT WE DO!! Lots of pretty purses totes and wallets etc to choose from. This visit they were handing out coupons for an extra 30% off on everything including clearance items which were tagged as 50% off, so yeah, go head and do the math for yourself. I found a couple really cute purses and tote in the clearance area, but I ended up walking out with one purse, my new baby :-) and it was not a deal, it was a steal. Customer service was also good, but the lady by the door wanted to know what we ended up buying and she REALLY wanted to see, so that was code for let me check your bags,you know what im saying... I used to come here a lot, but have started making less frequent trips for several reasons: 1. The selection of handbags doesn't differ very much from month to month. I found that if I came back every 2-3 months, I was pretty much looking at the same selection as before. I would suggest making a trip maybe every 4-6 months. It makes it much more interesting/exciting to see all the new styles. 2. Over the past few years, I've found that the quality, colors/patterns, material, and over all look has gone down. Coach used to be a great place to pick up a fashionable and classic handbag. But my experience has been that the outlet styles have been going downhill. In the past, I could find a couple of styles that were of interest to me, but now I find myself feeling "meh" about what I see. 3. The crowd. When it's raining it's packed. On the weekdays it's packed. If you get there early in the morning, right when the store opens it's packed. If you go on a sunny Saturday afternoon be prepared to pretty much not be able to move or breathe. 4. What happened to the 30% off coupons!? They used to have this promotion all the time. The sales associates standing by the door would greet you and hand you the coupon. But no more. Although, in there defense, it does seem like the prices are cheaper than they were before. Maybe the company decided to just reduce the retail prices rather than have the 30% off coupon. Either way, from a marketing and consumer perspective, having the coupon somehow made me happy and it felt like I was saving more. The good news is that their customer service is still as good as it was before. There are always plenty of associates on the floor willing and eager to help. They also have numerous cashiers so the line moves pretty fast even if it's long. Overall, it's still a store that I'll swing by if I'm in the area. But it's no longer a top priority store and I no longer find myself wanting to make the drive from the San Jose area. It's not worth it. read more

I AM WOMAN HERE ME ROAR! Okay maybe a little over the top but we ladies sure do love our purses. I have the misfortune of working only two stop lights away from this "candy" store so it takes a lot of willpower to stay away. Luckily my wallet is constantly empty so it helps with urges. On Saturday my daughter and I were coming home from San Diego and she wanted to make a pit stop at the Coach Outlet. Great ... I try so hard to stay away and this little lady (who I can never say no to) drags me right into the pit of retail torture! Since I work so close, coming to the Outlets on a Saturday is never necessary .... unless ... the daughter wants to go. So, there we were, trying to find parking after 6 hours on the road, sore bottoms and bad hair. The store had a line out the door about 30 deep and it was hot. Yes folks, when it's 70 in San Jose, it's generally 80 in Gilroy. Lucky for us the line went pretty fast. I had just enough time to shoot over to the restroom before it was our turn to go in. Oh my goodness ... so many pretty things!!! I love Spring and all the colors that it brings out. The store wasn't too crowded inside and they were handing out 50% off coupons. Yay us! Okay okay, so my wallet is still empty but my daughter has some and it's burning a hole in her pocket. Oh wait! She's cheap, thank goodness. But there are some great deals to be found and most of these customers are leaving with several items purchased. Lucky them! My daughter was looking for something pretty specific and within 20 minutes she found what she was looking for, paid and we were out the door and back on the road again (oh joy). The staff at Coach are always friendly and willing to help. They generally have 2 or 3 people working the floor and the same number if not more working the registers. I misplaced my Coach swingpack purse (small purse with a long strap) so we stopped here on our way to Southern, California. I was able to purchase a new Coach swingpack purse that was marked 50% off plus another 20% off with the coupon they were handing out when we walked into the shop. My new bag was totaled around $52 dollars with tax. The swingpack purses are great for going to places like Disneyland or any amusement park because they hold the essentials like your drivers license, money, cell phone and sunglasses when you're riding the roller coasters :) I love the different designs of Coach purses- they come out with different designs often. OK so I don't actually own a Coach purse now. I admire the goods but its really not my style - that plus, my rent in SF is less money then most of these normally priced purses so I feel unjustified. A friend brought me to this Mecca of cheap Coach goods recently. We fought the crowds of women, grabbed the 10% off coupons they handed out at the door and spent hours trying out various styles and colors of Coach bags (some cute and some not). Most everything was 50% off + an extra 10% off with the coupon. You can see people buying Coach products in bulk, most likely for eBay reselling. I bought a $90 two tones of turquoise "Legacy" leather Coach purse (normally $350, the one with the cute double pockets and buckles). I felt like Jackie O. with my retro styles. I got the addictive 'Coach-purse-high' and bought the $60 matching wallet too. I took them for a small test drive, strutting my stuff. People took notice but I know its not me. I am not a Coach bag type of girl but rather a Timbuk2 type of girl and my 'Coach-purse-high' wore off. I returned my purchase. Pretty easy returns, just don't use the purse. If you like fancy purses like Coach, please visit this place - the prices are amazingly low and the extensive purse selection changes almost every week. Most leather bags are in the $90-$400 range. They also sell sunglasses, wallets, coin purses, jewelery, key chains, clothes, shoes and business-like suitcases. AVOID this place on major holidays, you might save 10% more but your will have to wait in a line wrapping outside the door. Its just not worth it! read more

LINES OUT THE YING YANG! We waited in a 20 feet long line for about 35 minutes to get into the store. While us ladies waited in line, my brother in law was able to go to the bathroom and get a stacked order of Starbucks beverages. And we were still waiting in line. What bugged me was the bouncer at the door allowed a handicap woman on walker go in but the lady behind me in a wheelchair stayed in line with the rest of us. WTH? That was really messed up. When we finally enter the store, there was another line for purchases! The line practically wrapped around the entire store, which made for an uncomfortable shopping experience. I had to weave around people in line to look at the merchandise. That was it, my attitude had been soured and I was no longer able to shop there. That line is at least an hour wait, especially, since they only had 4 registers opened. WTH?! Needless to say, I walked out empty handed, upset, and annoyed. "So I bought a leather jacket there on a sunday when it was an addtional 50% off. I decided that I wanted a smaller size. So on Thursday (4days later) I went back down there to exchange it for a size small. I noticed that on that Thursday it was only an addtional 40% off. So I found my size and took it to the register and informed the woman that I wanted to exchange it...the exact same jacket, just in a different size. So she had me fill something out and called her manager...a man. He informed me that I would have to pay the difference (which came out to a little over 20 bucks). I asked him why since it was an even exchange. He said that it's because of company policy that adjustment only be made within 15 days. I informed him that I wasn't asking for an adjustment, I just wanted an even exchange...and it had only been 4 days...and I had my receipt...and the tags were still on, etc. He pointed to the store policy that was written next to the register and asked me to read it. I informed him that I read, and fully understood, the store policy but it did not pertain to me since I was doing an exchange. He asked me to read it again. I showed him where it said "refunds or exchanges given with receipt." That's when he said he would do it for me just this once. That's when I went off. I told him, "Don't act like you're doing me a favor. Any reputable business that you go to will gladly do an exchange for you without asking for the difference. If it would be easier for you, than I'll just return the jacket. Would that be easier for you?" His response: "Umm, no ma'am. I was just following store policy." My response: "I would think that Coach store policy would be to value there loyal customers and treat all customers with respect. You shouldn't underestimate any customer because the ones who look the shittiest are the ones with the most money to spend. You shouldn't have underestimated me." His response: "Here's your jacket." It was rather embarrassing as I handed over my card and the SA told me that they couldn't accept it because they couldn't imprint it. Really? Normally, I don't carry a truck load of cash on me because I'm more of a card person but luckily I had just enough to shell out to get the purse I just had to have. Seems like everyone and their mother's and their mother's has a handbag with their signature print. Me not so much. I go for their accessories. Don't laugh, like key chains, they last for a longtime. You can drag it to hell and back and the ones made out of leather just start to look antique-y. Hot. I've purchase a carry-on bag for when I travel at the outlet at Camarillo and glad I did as I used it all the time when I visit my crazy friends in the city, LA, Denver and Vegas. Just like the Vacaville Coach outlet store, the place is wild when there is a sale, which there was on July 4th weekend. 50% off plus additional 20% off. There was a line out the door as they limited the amt of bodies into the store. But, the line moved quickly. Lots of merchandise, compared to Coach in Carmel. Prices are good too, but you'll have to bear with the crowds in the store as well as lines to pay. The customers were pretty civil. Our sales clerk, was so-so. Other clerks would wrap the coach bag in tissue to protect it, but she just dumped my bag into the shopping bag. Acted like she didn't like being there. The sales staff on the floor were helpful, but this store definitely does not have employees as nice as the ones at the Carmel Coach store. read more

Every bit of self-control that I have in my body goes out the window when I walk into this store. First, I don't feel rushed or guilted by my dog tied up outside because they invite her in! I'm able to meander around the store at my own pace with my pup at my side (HUGE bonus points). Picking a purse is a PROCESS! It's like choosing a good pair of shoes. You have to evaluate fit, flexibility, functionality, style... I come with all my gear to demo my purses. This is a process that CANNOT be rushed. Second, they occasionally hand you a 30% off coupon and allow you to add that ON TOP of your already 20%-40% discounted purses and accessories. I lost count of the number of times I said to myself "Are you kidding me?!?" when calculating prices with discounts like that. Third, there's about 5x the selection than at the retail store in the mall. Kid in a candy store! All in all, I get more bang (or bling) for my buck and so I feel slightly less guilty walking out. I must disclaim: One of my favorite activities is to shop for black market purses when I travel abroad and I've definitely ventured into the China markets for Coach deals! I know what it feels like to shop at the "true Coach outlet" in a dark and dreary underground warehouse. I can equate the feeling of leaving the Gilroy store with a bag full of goodies to finding an amazing deal in China. I'm a girl who loves deals and this places offers that same reward! If you sign up for their emails you'll get 30% coupons and notifications of their latest released bags. I'll never shop at a full retail store. I now walk by the store in the mall and snoodily huff to myself "pshh! No way. You charge too much! I'll just head over to the outlet and get a better selection at a much better deal!" Tip: If you ever want to reduce your Post-Purchaser's Guilt just do a quick walkthrough at a retail store and then head to the outlet to buy your purses. Another trip to Gilroy Premium Outlet according to my wife and at the same time holding a Coach store coupon. I knew it was going to be the first store we are going into and it was going to be a test of patience with the crowds. After lunch, we tackled the crowds at this store - luckily there wasn't a line to get in this time. But it was like a after Thanksgiving day inside because there were so many people grabbing everything. Despite the crowds, we did get great customer service, when I asked the sales person to help my wife find a certain size of handbag. She was extremely helpful, and friendly, despite the the amount of people in the store. After picking out the bag, it was another test of patience at the check-out line. A very long check-out line. I still can not believe some people had several bags in their store carrier. When we got to the check stand, I was in relief. I am out of there until the next time! In the end, seeing my wife's smile with her coupon discounted handbag was worth the test of patience! Now we can walk the rest of the huge mall as a family-outing! read more

Personnel were very pleasant and displays neat and tidy. However, returns policy is the worst I have ever experienced. The rating is solely for the unreasonable return policy I experienced. We received a Christmas gift this year which we did not want. The labeled merchandise was new, with tags and protective paper on zippers, etc. I was politely advised that Coach's policy is, without a receipt, take off 70% of price in the system, subtract $25.00, and provide a merchandise receipt (or credit toward current purchase) for the balance. So, as an example, a $500 item would first be reduced to $125, then subtract $25 for a total credit of only $100. I am used to other retailers who will give merchandise credit for the lowest price sold within the past 90 days, but Coach apparently pockets most of the money paid and can resell the merchandise at full retail a second time. I guess it is a big case of sour grapes, but that is my feeling and prerogative as a consumer. Actually, it will likely save me time and effort in the future. We host many overseas visitors throughout the year which we bring to factory malls like this (and some tend to buy up the store at factory mall stores). I now have an excuse to avoid the drive from the South Bay to Gilroy and I will refuse to visit the Gilroy outlets or anywhere I think there might be a Coach (Easy since they don't know where the stores are).
