Personnel were very pleasant and displays neat and tidy. However, returns policy is the worst I have ever experienced. The rating is solely for the unreasonable return policy I experienced. We received a Christmas gift this year which we did not want. The labeled merchandise was new, with tags and protective paper on zippers, etc. I was politely advised that Coach's policy is, without a receipt, take off 70% of price in the system, subtract $25.00, and provide a merchandise receipt (or credit toward current purchase) for the balance. So, as an example, a $500 item would first be reduced to $125, then subtract $25 for a total credit of only $100. I am used to other retailers who will give merchandise credit for the lowest price sold within the past 90 days, but Coach apparently pockets most of the money paid and can resell the merchandise at full retail a second time. I guess it is a big case of sour grapes, but that is my feeling and prerogative as a consumer. Actually, it will likely save me time and effort in the future. We host many overseas visitors throughout the year which we bring to factory malls like this (and some tend to buy up the store at factory mall stores). I now have an excuse to avoid the drive from the South Bay to Gilroy and I will refuse to visit the Gilroy outlets or anywhere I think there might be a Coach (Easy since they don't know where the stores are). It may save me money too. We may stop at Gilroy in the future, but only for the free Supercharger and In 'n Out. My spouse used to shop frequently at Coach and we have spent thousands, but unfortunately, she has moved to higher end brands. read more

I felt so bad that I dragged my older sister and her twin 1 year olds to the outlets on Sunday. My sis lives in Gilroy and I rarely venture out to visit let alone shop here. I was craving a new wallet. I do appreciate leather craftsmanship so I thought I would take a peek. I own a ton of Coach shoes that I love. OMFG. You can find such GOOD deals here! The sales are best during the prime shopping season.. especially around the holidays. It was a madhouse in here. The line was snaking around the store. The purses were flying off the shelves... and there was this one purse I was on the fence about... there were at least 8 of them on the shelves right... I walked around the store to check out the rest of the products... didn't see anything else I liked and decided I did want that purse after all. So I go back to grab one... and THEY'RE ALL GONE! In a period of 3-5 minutes! So I was assed out, but 8 other lucky bastards SCORED.... so I guess that balances out the universe. Yeah, I have a weird way of thinking. So what? Moral of the story? We decided to head up here last Sat. Traffic was miserable, and we were on the bike, which made it hot and miserable. I didn't know what to expect, but some friends had recommended it. It was a total zoo, and you actually had to wait in line to get to some items. After reading some reviews, I knew if I saw something I liked, (even if I wasn't sure) I better grab it or it could be gone. One of the purses I ended up getting, several women stopped and asked where I found it, and if I didn't want it, they did! What really impressed me was the service.That's right...I said service...at an outlet store... I honestly wasn't expecting any kind of customer service at all. It's an outlet store, and it's insanely busy. More than one employee offered to check prices for me, made suggestions, and even offered to put our (heavy) motorcycle jackets, behind the counter. We both really appreciated this, and it made it much easier to shop. Prices were fantastic! I really should stop telling everyone how much I paid for my bags...But, I love to share bargains! I got a wallet for $55, that was over $100 regularly. One bag was $220, I paid .......drum roll please.....$55!!!! I got another bag, that was a good deal, but I can't remember how much. Every time I come here, I try to find something I like. I rarely see anything that was in the actual coach store/Macy's/Nordstrom's. A lot of things are odd colors or weird patterns. Plus the women here can be rude. They look at you like you're looking at the bag that they are meant to have. Excuse me? You can have it! I'm just checking it out and it's not the end of the world! It's just a purse lady. I think it's funny that women are holding 5-8 bags for dear life and they're getting a really good deal. The only good deals I see here are in the 50% off extra section. OK... so i stood in a line that was about half a block long just to get in. And once you are in.. its like madness... but you know overall, the staff were still friendly and helpful. The line to pay was long, but considerably fast. Oh did i mention, i went there the weekend before xmas... smart right? i went there with the intention to buy a wallet.. which i did, original price $208, i paid $70 for it. good deal i say. and since.. well i waited in line for 15 mins, seems like i should make it worth while to get more than just a wallet, so I got a cross body bag too. Like something you see in a really bad movie scene. Women pushing each other, grabbing bags of the racks, holding 9 purses, dropping them on the floor, and then fighting someone to pick it up. Thank goodness I was on a mission: get in, get the black purse I wanted as a laptop bag (tiny laptop) for work. Maybe they do sell purses specifically for the Outlets that never see the light of day in their regular stores. But I also know that a purse my friend bought last season was available at the outlet the following season for nearly $100 less. So maybe it's half true and that some of the items they produce are specifically for the outlet stores. And maybe sometimes you really can find merchandise that was once sold at the regular store. Either way, all the purses I've bought at the outlets have lasted a very long time thus making me believe that they are pretty great quality products. This is one store in the Gilroy Premium Outlets that was smart for expanding. Located in center A, a center that typically gets little attention, Coach Factory Outlet seems to always have a line to pay or a line out the door. Coach has done an exceptional job creating a wonderful flow throughout the store while having associates present to supply any help when needed. Most associates do an excellent job greeting customers and informing them of current promotions in the store. This is one of the few stores that keep to its "outlet" name. Most styles found in the store are either last season or specifically made for the factory store. The plus side is that you can always find something that you have never seen in a regular Coach Store, on the negative, if you want it, you have to grab it and buy it then because the supply is not on hand as a regular store. Although the store may seem a bit pricey when initially looking at the tags, keep in mind that the discount that the bag has is applied additionally to the lowest marked price. I have found deals in this store that are unbelievable for a Coach Purse, being as little as $30.00. Downside to this store, taking star #5, is the lines. Coach does do a wonderful job creating flow as stated earlier; however, it is possible to be at this store for up to 2 hours after looking through the shelves and waiting in line, much longer than any other store in this outlet center. Overall this is the store to go to if you are personally looking for a Coach Purse/Accessory or are looking for a loved one. read more

Contrary to other reviews, I've actually never had any problems with the sales associates here. They have been friendly and helpful, though occasionally overbearing. Sales are decent, and during some random weekends and almost all holidays, the majority of the items are at least an additional 10% off. Their clearance corner is always a big hit, and I've seen some nice handbags in there. I love that the keychains are marked down--they make awesome gifts. Plus, their wallets are timeless. Some items are current (still featured on the website), while others are way past season. Weekends are frenetic--the wait line can take over half an hour, but that is precisely why you bring your significant other (oh yes, and for him to pay muahaha). While your sig o. waits in line, you can happily peruse items that you wish you could afford while you push yourself through the melee of customers buying Coach this and Coach that. They DO have plenty of staffers around during weekends, it's just that the store is bustling with women, elbow to elbow. Bummer though, that they've discontinued the men's trifold wallet with clearview. That was THE best item of the men's line, poor boyfriend. :( & I will divulge a shopping tip. You can park directly BEHIND the Coach store to avoid the craziness of the parking lot. Went to the Coach Outlet today to get my first Coach handbag! I was sooooo excited! I treated myself since I have been working so hard at my new job so I deserved this trip! One star for the customer service. Their products are nicely discounted, and I got some good deals on wallets and purses. However, some of the store help were a bit rude and standoffish. (I see Tu below had bad customer service experience also.) When we were purchasing our item, our cashier asked for our full name, address, and phone number. Being wary of companies irresponsibly selling customers' personal information, we declined to give our info and just wanted to pay and go. Our cashier gave us a bit of an attitude over that. It's like finding a needle in a haystack here in my opinion. I am not a huge fan of the print and the tacky colored bags. I used to like Coach quite a bit but I have moved on to different brands such as Vuitton, Burberry, or Chanel as I prefer more timeless bags with quality leather. However, if I pass by here I sometimes stop by here I'll go in to see if I can find something good. I look to see if I can find a classy leather bag or something that is a little bit different that isn't a print. I think a lot of these things are made especially for the outlet possibly because they aren't made as well as other bags and they don't really look as nice as Coach used to make.. They are all very weird patterns, shapes, and very bizarre colors. Perhaps it is just because my taste has changed. Don't bother coming here on a weekend because the place is crazy busy and it is really hard to look around because the place is mobbed with people. If, you lucky the day you visit, Coach offers an additional 20% the entire purchase. You can get a full size purse or tote for about $100 or less, which regularly cost $329 or more. When I need a birthday present for any of my girlfriends I usually come by here to pick up a few purses. This store is crowded and a mad house on the weekends. If you like Coach, purses and discounts this is a place to check out. I have gotten a few purses from here in the past. Currently they have some special limited edition Disney x Coach bags and accessories. Even though they're discounted, they still seem expensive for what you get. I am a Disney fan and somewhat of a Coach fan. You're paying for the 2 names though. Everything in the store is discounted from retail price, some being clearance priced below 50% retail. Selection changes and varies because it is an outlet. The staff for the most part is friendly. I almost got a purse on this last visit, but felt deceived and ended up not getting anything. The purse was blue leather and well priced, but the one thing that caught my eye was a matching blue embellished lightning bolt bag charm. I had noticed none of the other bags had one, but it was also the only blue one hanging. The only tag was a tiny one inside of the bag that said "$80.00" but I don't think it went with the purse. The purse was $89 on sale. As I was getting rung up, they asked if I wanted the $25 keychain because it wasn't included. They said they put it on the bag to "enhance it" but I think that's very misleading. The keychain didn't even have a separate price tag or anything to indicate it was a separate piece. You will find great deals on purses, shoes, accessories, and clothing. Sale staff is helpful to find items if they aren't displayed or you need more than one. I had to buy 10 wristlets for my girlfriends bridal party and they were more than happy to call me to let me know when more was coming it. Even transferred some from other Coach outlet stores. The store itself is a bit chaotic. The store is always packed and busy on the weekends. This place always seems to be a madhouse! I got there at 11 AM on a Saturday and it was already packed inside! I just needed to exchange a gift that I got, but it was so hard to find something in exchange. I never really find any handbags here that I like. Either I don't like the patterns or the quality of the leather is terrible. The accessories are more pleasant: wallets, wristlets, cosmetic cases, etc. but they're not items that you need multiples of so I usually don't buy anything. For some reason, people seem to love this place and hoard a bunch of items here. Lines are always long. When I first came here, I thought most of the people who shopped here were tourists loading up on a whole bunch of stuff, but now I noticed that most of the people are locals. The items here are cheap as many of the items are often sold at an additional discount. This is one of my favorite stores at Gilroy. During the holiday weekends they have good discounts. There's an additional discount on top of the markdown and sometimes an additional 10-15% off for the store special. I always find something I like. The best deals are on the non-logo leather goods. If you're looking for the logo "c" items, I recommend showing up early. The good stuff is always gone by the afternoon. It gets hot during the summer and it gets hot and stuffy in the store with all the ladies. It's like a competition. I've seen ladies grab 4-5 items at a time, like the bags are free. Gilroy Coach outlet Saturday after Thanksgiving, long line of folks waited to enter. My wife and my other 2 boys lined up, I took my 3 year old to wee-wee and pick up a snack. When my 3 year old and I got back to Coach, wife and other 2 boys had already entered the store. 3 year old sees mom through the glass doors and I see her with 3 bags slung over her shoulder in full shopping mode. Off the right of the door I see my other 2 boys sitting down inside the waiting area by themselves. There are empty seats in the waiting area.. My 3 year old yells "momma" and wants to go in and the rep tells me "he (my 3year old) can enter, but I can't let you in" because my wife did not notify her that I was coming. It's ok - no argument, no problem, as I like peoplewatching and stood outside with my 3 year old. Also, I'm not too crazy about that "Coach leather smell", which is probably a heavenly scent to many. About 15 minutes go by and my 3 year old becomes restless and wants to join his brothers in the waiting area. I politely ask again if I can go sit down in the waiting area with my boys and she declines. I then ask for the manager and "Linda" comes out and Linda states reiterates the policy (my toddler can enter but not I). I explained to Linda: 1). I am only going in to sit down in the empty bench in the waiting area with my boys, 2). There are empty seats in the waiting area, 3). I am not shopping and taking away anyone's shopping privileges, 4). the 3 year old left unattended in the busy store would either be dangerous (bump or run into someone or get hurt) or would interfere with my wife shopping. None of these points registered with Linda, who kept insisting she cannot allow me into the store because of "policy". At this point, I became frustrated, and asked her for her name in writing and that I'd likely contact the "corporate offices" about this incident. I did not yell, raise my voice, or use profanity. She then stated how "you need to calm down...you are now making demands" and then came the ultimatum veiled threat, ".....or I will call security". Not only did Linda make a very poor robotic decision devoid of any logic or empathy....to compound matters, her idea of resolving a simple situation in which she appears to believe her role to be policewoman enforcer of policy rather than client relations and brand developer, is to call the mall security. Linda did end up allowing me inside the waiting area, but as soon as my 3 year old settle down with my other boys, I waited outside the store - I never wanted to be inside in the first place. I asked the door rep did I really do or say anything to warrant Linda threatening to call security on me? She said "no you didn't" and shrugged her shoulders and gave an expression as to indicate she felt badly about the situation. My wife ended up purchasing a number of items at the store, and when she found out what had happened, she was dumbfounded as to the actions that took place and wanted to return everything she just bought. We ended up keeping the purchase, but Coach Outlet at Gilroy, please be aware that you have someone like Linda represent your brand and operate under the guise of providing quality client service...she doesn't care at all. read more

Somehow, this store is always packed on the weekend with women that are running around stark mad grabbing all of last year's ugly-ass threads and doodads like Coach covers for a first generation iPod or Coach pill boxes or Coach patent leather dildo holsters or... well I made that last one up, but still! It's nuts in there! It's like they have this mysterious tour bus, that drives around the Bay Area picking up purse-crazed women, and drops them off at this store. Of course in the midst of this orgasmic leather and nylon delight the guys get... a small selection of scratched up wallets, belts, and organizers. Bleh. I went to return a purse that I got as a birthday gift, but was really a pain to carry. I only used it once, had the receipt and was well within the time perimeters for returns. When I approached the girl at the register and explained what I wanted, she inspected the bag and then said she was unable to do the return bc there were crumbs in the bag. Ok.... It was patent leather, black and was completely clean on the outside. When I looked inside, I saw maybe 2 cat hairs and a small, very small, piece of paper maybe. I asked to speak to a manager and so another girl came over. She too said it was used and couldn't return. I asked for another manager. The one that came over this time, actually helped me select the bag, so I was hoping that she'd be a lil more easy to deal with. She too said they wouldn't do the return for all the reasons listed above, but after telling her I drove all the way from Santa Cruz, really didn't want an exchange, she made an exception for me and decided to return it. The first girl that helped me was there to hear all of this and was so rude, she accused me of cleaning the bag before I came in, so that they'd do the return. Seriously?! If I did clean the bag, wouldn't these so called crumbs NOT be in the bag?! It was very catty and so unprofessional for her to say something like that to a customer. So, the manager told her in not so many words to be quiet and process the return. She walked and away and the girl started the return with a mocking smirk on her face, proceeded throw a own at me, then threw my receipt at me. I told her that I hope she would get reprimanded for the way I was treated. She just laughed and smiled and said she wasn't worried. As I was walking out, I heard her call me a bitch. That's right. I went straight over to her manager to tell her. I was so upset, visibly shaking and as I'm talking to the manager, this little girl(because grown women don't act that way), laughed at me and mocked me with another employee. Never in my life has this ever happened to me. Thus is by far the worst customer service I've ever received! DO NOT shop there and if you do, stay away from AMANDA the little girl with long black hair and a very vicious smile to go with her vicious attitude. Very disappointed. read more
