Wes did a length adjustments to my German Leaderhosen suspenders. He matched the leather color, felt fluted backing and correct length so they fit. The price for material and labor is exactly what I anticipated and was reasonable for the amount of work required. additionally he put new rubber heals on my Bally leather shoes. read more

I thought these old dogs were done for. Years of hard work, dust, sweat, and bad decisions had them looking rough. Somehow, these guys brought them back to life. The leather looks rich again, the shape is back, and they went from "retirement ready" to "let's get back to work. read more

Excellent work on replacing the entire sole of my boots. I'll definitely will be back

I went on a Saturday and dropped of some cowboy boots to be stretched. I was happily informed that they would be ready for pick up on Wednesday. I informed the owner, I would not be able to pick them up, until the following Saturday. My work schedule, and their hours of operation When I went to pick up my boots. For their location on yelp again to get directions. It said the business was permanently closed. I was in a state of panic. I winged it and found the place. Much to my relief they were open. And I didn't feel that he stretched them out at all. They've even felt tighter, to be honest. I will have to try another location read more

I have come to Wes twice now for minor repairs on leather boots. I had the tips on my stiletto boots replaced and shined for less than $20 and the down time was less than a week for quality workmanship. Wes is so nice to talk to when I come in - a true diamond in the rough in little Gilroy! read more

Quality work and great prices. Also very friendly. I would rec come x this place for all types of repairs.

I stopped by this place after seeing the yelp reviews on a Saturday and there was a sign in the door that said they're closed for the day. So I waited until today, which is a Tuesday, to call first before coming and there was no answer, nor an answering machine message for that matter. What kind of business is this?! Update: they're the only game in town so I tried going again for the third time (second Saturday a month later they were closed for a "family event", posted on the window ‍) got my leather boot repair done in a week, owner is super friendly and will be back again for sure read more

I've only had my shoes stretched here, but they've turned out great every time. Saved my feet and my shoes! Wes is super friendly and I enjoy a chat when I go in! Will definitely be my go to place! read more

Walked-in for an impromptu shoe repair. It was only a single shoe of the pair but he recommended to do both shoes just to be safe. Proprietor asked for a time-line of how soon the repair was needed. I told him there was no hurry and he gave a week which sounded reasonable. Paid in advance. Sure enough, shoes were ready on the day listed on the receipt sales ticket. No issues or problems. Shoes were as good as new. Great customer service. read more

Stay away from this place! I went in today to have my son's boots stretched, I asked a few questions about the process and how he goes about it. Asked about the leather and how long the process takes. Apparently you can't asked any questions or voice any concerns at this establishment. He (owner) started writing up my ticket and then told me he was going to pass. I asked why and he said " I'm just going to pass" I told him that I was simply asking a few questions!!! Is that not allowed!?! He didn't reply or have any real explanation. Never again! So much for trying to support a local small business, this man doesn't value his customers ! Save yourself some time and money and go elsewhere. read more

I broke a strap on my Louis Vuitton crossbody. I have had it for decades, and honestly, I was emotionally attached to it. Usually I take it to a Louis Vuitton shop where they assess if the fix is worth the cost for the condition of the bag, and if so, it takes a couple of months for the repair. Granted, the repair is flawless; however, I thought I just needed a basic sewing on of the strap - it didn't need to be perfect. I took it to Wes's Shoe Repair. The price and turnaround time were inexpensive and fast. I was so happy with the repair, I also took in my Louis Vuitton backpack because the zipper stopped working. Wes knew immediately the zipper pull needed replacing. Again the price and speed with which the repair was made was fantastic. I highly recommend Wes's Shoe Repair. read more

I brought a pair of heels to have the heel taps replaced and the employee or possibly the owner quoted me a price and then I asked if he could fix a scuff on the shoe and then he become extremely rude and condescending to me. He then told me that he can't do the job and walked away. Wow, What just happened? I was going to have a basic shoe tap replaced and the employee just turns down business and is dismissive and rude to me. Deplorable behavior ! Maybe the shoe glue is getting to someone! I thought replacing a shoe tap was a basic repair. Poor communication and no professionalism. Not sure what's going on with this business but I will never go back in there again. read more

I brought a new belt to add a hole to it and the young lady working there made the hole that looked as if she used a nail instead of a punch. She did not see anything wrong with it. I wish I could add a picture with the $5.00 receipt of it. read more

Jobe was very nice. Repaired my dress cowgirl boots and returned them polished and in excellent condition.

Came in waited for a couple mins although the place is a box. When I was approached by a old lady with a mouth full of food with an attitude. Before I can ask to repair my shoe I mention Jordan's and they quickly said no. Then I asked I just need a stain out of my suede shoe. She turned around and whispered to the smith something other than what I asked and he said No No Jordan's. I asked why does it matter what brand I just need a stain out . HORRIBLE SERVICE read more

Needed a quick turnaround on a repair for wife's shoe that she had to have for an event that evening. Calm, reassuring Joe said no problem, come back after 3p. No drama, shoe ready, looked as good as new. Wife happy, which is all that really matters. Thanks Joe, will definitely be back. read more

I hesitated before putting this review but after my experience today with the owner of this shop I just had to.. the owner to this shop is rude sometimes I think he honestly doesn't realize what comes out of his mouth.. his prices are outrageous unfortunately for us in Gilroy he is the only shoe repair shop.. reading other reviews yeah he may do a good job but his attitude stinks . I will definitely not go back and take my business elsewhere .. read more

I was referred to this establishment by my mother (a returning client) to trust in Wes Shoe Repair to take care of my leather needs. When walking into the shop I was greeted by the husband and wife duo, both very friendly and knowledgeable about the craft which made the entire situation pleasant and simple. The owner was thorough in assuring my needs were taken care of and that my possessions were in safe hands. Not only will I be referring and returning for the customer service but as well as for the quality of work presented. Highly recommend. read more

I've never had a good experience at this shoe repair shop. The first time i used it, i took a pair of my daughters brand new shoes in. She wears braces and needed a small amount of Velcro added to the straps of her Mary Jane shoes so that they would fit her braces. Wes charged me $15 to add the Velcro to the straps. And, it wasn't a tidy job because the girl at the counter didn't know that her father said the shoes would be ready that day so she did a quick job. Overpriced but functional, fine, better luck next time. The 2nd time I went in with a pair of boots I got from Ross. The material had torn away from the sole on one, which created a hole near the toe. The owner put his nose up and wrinkled it when he looked at the boot. He said it was pleather and that he couldn't do anything about it. Really? A snooty shoe repair dude? I've never dealt with a shoe repair shop this awful. For years I used Barry's shoe repair in Sunnyvale before we moved to Gilroy. His work was always stellar, beautiful work at an affordable price and I was never turned away. This shop's clearly reaping the benefits of being the main shoe repair in town. But they aren't the only shoe repair shop, there is another that I'm going to try on 10th street. Hopefully that service will be better. read more
