I highly recommend Fidelina for any of your alternation needs. I came to her in February to get my wedding dress hemmed, taken in on the sides, reduce the bust size, add a bustle, and make off the shoulder sleeves. My wedding was in July and it turned out perfect! My dress was originally a size 12 and I'm a size 4/6 so it had to be taken in A LOT. The dress was also too long, I was worried about getting it hemmed because of the lace that ran along the bottom of the dress. She carefully took off all that lace, hemmed it, then sewed the lace back on. She also made my off the shoulder straps using the excess fabric. Her prices were very reasonable and cheaper than having my dress altered by the company. I also think they wouldn't have done such an amazing job as she did. The dress fit so perfectly that I was able to dance all night long without having to pull my dress up even once. I did think it needed to be taken in a bit more but I didn't say anything knowing the wedding was just 3 days away and I wasn't sure if it was going to be done. If you're not a bride you're not a priority here. Fidelina did a great job on my wedding gown a few years back, and I have been a returning customer ever since. HOWEVER, recently she was late on completing a maid of honor dress which was dropped off well over 6 weeks in advance. Also, the simple alterations cost as much as I paid for the dress. Most recently I dropped off a simple repair on a jacket, they had the jacket for almost 2 months. I returned 3 times (I don't live close) before I finally just asked for my jacket and money back, please. She shoved my jacket and 20 dollar bill in my hand, no apology or explanation. I came to Fidelina's literally a month before my wedding since the person who was originally going to alter my wedding dress wasn't able to and she was able to get the job done on such short notice! It was easy booking with her and booking my follow up appointments as well. I needed a few things done such as adding hooks for an over skirt, lifting the tail of the dress, lifting the straps, and making the dress tighter and she did it in about 2/3 weeks! I was very happy with my alterations by Fidelina. One suggestion- if you need more than your dress taken up and a bustle added make sure to go in for your initial fitting 8+ weeks prior to your wedding date. Fidelina is the only person who touches the wedding dress alterations, so do yourself a favor and be patient and communicate what you want. You need to budget plenty of time for your fittings (I probably went in 5 times for about 20-30minutes each). The price was reasonable seeing that she needed to line the bodice, take it in about 3 inches, take it up quite a bit and add a full bustle for my train. I was very happy with her end product, though I did show up to pick it up a week before my wedding to find it wasn't ready... but honestly I wasn't too worried and it turned out just great! I bought a dress off the rack so it needed some work and I was on a tight time crunch to have it fixed. Well, I was in tears when I picked up my wedding gown from Elegant Lace Bridal in San Jose. My dress didn't fit. At all. It was too tight in the thighs, too poochy in the tummy, and baggy in the chest. I brought home a dress that didn't make me feel the way I did when I tried on the sample. It was devastating to say the least. I was so hesitant to bring my dress somewhere for alterations. I'm not sure why, maybe because the thought of chopping up my heavily beaded, lace, expensive dress was overwhelming? Wow. Fidelina and Liz do it all. I have been going to Fidelina's sewing, alterations, and do it all shop for over 3 years. They are most likely descendants from Royal Seamstresses. I am super pleased with the quality of workmanship or should I say workwomanship on the following: 1. Suits 2. Pants 3. Jacket/Sweater 4. California King Comforter 5. Quinceañera dresses 6. Odd and unique clothing I purchased a California King Comforter a few years ago and we tore the underside. The hand stitching was coming undone. I did not want to spend another $500+ on a quality comforter since I could not find one that is as beautiful as mine with the stitch quality and pattern. So, in my usual fashion, I folded up, packed and transported my heavy California King comforter to Fidelina. Fidelina greeted me with a smile as she always does. Her husband sits behind the computer and is a quiet type. Fidelina said the job was tough but that she and Liz would take a chance and do their best. I waited anxiously for a week. I receive the call "Your comforter is done!" I drove right over. As soon as we spread the comforter on the floor and saw the detailed craftswomanship, a big smile overtook me. WOW! Horrible customer service! I took my clothes to them and they only needed hem except one! She told me that they'll get prepared in 12 days due to their busy schedule! I went to pick them up and they weren't ready , she said I'm sorry I was busy! I said ok don't worry I'll come back tomorrow for only one of them. Then i went to pick only that one and again she said it's not ready! I said OKKKK I'll come back tomorrow!!! Anyway i told her I'm going on vacation and i need the rest of my clothes (2 hem!) and she promised me to make them ready by Monday! I came back on Tuesday and she said I'm sorry i was sick! I'm disappointed by her service. I feel I've earned the right to issuing her business a 1 Star and more importantly warning future customers. I given Fidelina my business for the last 5 years or so. As a local and a small business owner I understand and value supporting small local businesses, which is why I kept going back. My biggest issue was dropping off a garment for alteration, getting a date (set by her) and it not being ready. She'd laugh at the over sight. Once I dropped off a dress (bday party dress) for her to add a lining, wasn't ready. Rushed, I came back the next day to pick it up (I did not try it on it store, I ran out to finish getting ready). I was furious to see the lines were crooked all around- from the neckline to the sides and the hem. This issue happened at least 4 times. I'm sad and disappointed.
