Costco Tires Tire techs gouges wheels using flathead screwdriver to pop out center cap. Why??? You can pop the cap out from the other side of the wheel!! They also seem to have switched center caps with my Hyundai. One of the wheel techs drives a Hyundai Veloster. One cap is extremely old and plastic has been worn out by the sun. The other 3 are so so. My vehicle has been 100% new and never had new tires installed, until Costco gouges wheels with a flathead and I now have older center caps. read more

5 stars for a Costco! This is the place to go, even on the weekends it's never CRAZY crowded like the one on Almaden in San Jose (where rude and disgusting people shop I've deduced). There has never been crazy lines, in face I'm spoiled when I see 4 deep in a line I get cranky! They are always willing to run for an item you forgot, or one that gets to the line and it's not so pretty. Great place to get gas at times and the parking lot is BIG (another bad thing about the SJ one!). I think all Costcos are generally the same... From overall layout, to products offered... Only small differences really occur in different areas. This location has almost never done me wrong. It's clean, they have good prices and even better customer service. What more could you really ask for? The pharmacy staff at this location is definitely on top of their game. I tend to ask a lot of questions and they always have an answer to provide. They're quick, efficient and helpful... Been a faithful customer for a few years and only a few snafus along the way...can't complain. read more

Costco always has the best gas prices anywhere near the area. They have improved and added more pumps. Don't go in the afternoon or you will have to wait in a huge line. You do have to have a Costco membership. Their prices are always at least 20 cents cheaper than any other stations. They have an attendant, no bathrooms though at the station. read more

A little nice Costco like this in the nice little garlic town of Gilroy has always been a pleasant experience for me. They got the 3 gas station per aisle setup. It's not too crowded at the registers and the food court. But more importantly, they're not dogs are great and the onions are always stocked whenever I'm there. Really good gas prices at Costco Gasoline. The prices are about 20-25 cents cheaper per gallon than other places (at least they were today). You will need a Costco membership to buy gas at any of their stations (but if one is handy, you quickly make the membership dues back! Not to mention you can take advantage of the warehouse store too). Lines can be long here (particularly during weekends and peak hours), not unusual for a Costco gas place, but the lines tend to move fairly quick and they have a bunch of pumps. read more

The customer service at this Costco is horrible. I bring 4 large bags for my purchased items. The cashiers and baggers use 2 of the bags and leave the others in my cart. They only seem to manage to put 3 items in each of the bags they use. I spend 15 minutes in the parking lot packing my own bags, while others wait for my parking space. Sometimes it's hot or raining. The other issue I have is they don't know how to pack the 3 items they do pack. The baggers need to put cold items in cooler bags and dry items in regular bags. It's not rocket science. It's common sense. I have asked several times and get no response when I try to get them to pack a bag correctly. Jus read more

So yesterday I was in starting my Xmas shopping. Their was a general manager and assistant general manager yelling at a group of women employees in the clothing area. I over heard the assistant GM telling them that they where not good enough, and that they don't work hard enough. Then the GM made a stupid comment to them about wearing sneakers that day and that her back was sore from picking up trash. The look on the womens faces was shock. I will not return to this Costco this is no way to ever treat someone who is doing a job for you in your location. These two women need to learn to be leaders not disgruntled bossy employees who think its ok the beat their works down. TWO hearing AIDS for "LESS THAN" one from Hearbright!  By the way, and that includes a key fob remote control at zero additional cost!  I spent $1,500.00 for two aids where Hearbright charged me more than $3,000.00 for "ONE" and then charged another $350.00 for a remote. This costco is great cause it's not as busy as other costco. The employees are nice and they don't move things around in circles like other Costco. I had HIGH hopes for this Costco. After visiting the chaotic one at Almaden Plaza the day prior, this Costco provided immediate parking and less stress. On the flip side, Costco seems to not have consistent policies within their franchises which drives me absolutely batty. Similar to MANY other customers who spend lots of money at this store, I accompanied my mother who has a paying membership. The day before, we shopped at the Alamaden Plaza store and we each both items SEPARATELY, but using her membership card. This location proved to be quite annoying. The checker said it was "store policy" that he could only do one receipt, but we could each pay separately. Now, let's take a moment and digest this info as it makes completely NO sense at all. I mentioned that our prior day's shopping adventure and he said, well, that's store policy, blah blah blah. He reasoning was that people come in with "10 family members and expet to have one membership, but pay separately". Let's take a moment to reflect on this statement. If you have 10 separate customers spending a chunk of money at your store, how is Costco losing out on $50 for a stupid membership? Also, I don't shop at your store more than 1 or 2x a year. Buying a membership isn't worth it to me. Your policies do not make sense. You have a website that I can buy stuff on without having a membership! After our Sonic experience, we headed to Costco. Why? Well, praise Jesus (who was born 5 days earlier) that I didn't have any health issues this year, and had quite a bit of spending to do on my health spending account before the year ended. So, where does one go when they need to buy contact solution, antiacid (from all those trips to different Yelp-reviewed restaurants), Advil, and other health-related items in bulk and for relatively good prices? Costco, of course! This is a far cry from the other Costco locations for one simple reason: it's quiet! It was totally maneuverable and void of the normal massive amounts of people that can be found at other locations. Yesterday I had the most unprofessional customer service at your Gilroy store from cashier named Corena. She was in a hurry and scanned my items on my daughter's Gold Member card. I tried to request to have my Executive member card (it was placed on top of my first item) used for my items and she didn't let me finish my sentence. She stated "it's okay, it's all the same". Again I tried to explain mine was an Executive card and she dismissed my request. I told her to stop and her reply (in a rude tone) was "No?!", should I stop?! Can I finish scanning?!". I told her I wanted my card used for my items. She became frustrated and rudely said she would have to void everything and then rescan. My response was Yes. She called out to have approval of a Void and then made a gesture of frustration by placing hands beside her head. Then as she proceeded to rescan Corena rudely stated "No one told me it was a separate transaction." Our items were separated by the plastic dividers. It was obvious Corena was not focused and in a hurry, she kept counting the items on our cart after the transaction. Corena clearly needs more training and observation of proper professional Customer Service and also be remind about her tone towards customer. The holidays can bring out the best and the worst in people. She's lucky it's not in my nature to make a scene BUT someone else might take her rudeness and unprofessional manner to a different level. (my last experience there), which brings me to the wait times....The food court is ALWAYS a 15 to 20 minute wait to order...Really long though it is worth it. The reason for the lengthy line is generally an understaffed back counter. There are usually only three people working it when you would ideally want 3 registers with 3 food workers. Hey though, Costco is a great place so you have to take the good with the bad. - There was this one customer service representative who works at the returns desk and she is just a nasty lady. Nasty in the sense that she had a frown and condescending attitude the entire time she was helping us return a defective item. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and assumed she had a crappy day, but next time we came in she was even more rude. I think Costco got rid of her because I haven't seen her since. THANK GOD. Other than that I've never had a problem with another employee. I have to reiterate how much better this Costco is than the super Wal Mart across the street....It's just in a whole different league. For the drivers traveling to and from the Bay Area and SoCal, yes this Costco has a gas station. Turn into Lindsteadt Way as that's the only road that heads straight to the gas station. The gas station has 3 pumps per lane -- something I've never seen at Costco Gas until now. read more

Love shopping here. They have absolutely everything and in big quantities :) it's pricey but totally worth it because you end up saving money in the long run. The store is clean, customer service is great and food is fresh. They have taste samples (stations) to help guide you on wether you want their product or not. I am rating the customer service. I tried to call an ask about a set of tires for my car. I was transfered to the Tire Department and gave the tech my tire size. He told me that all he could tell me was if they had the tires in stock - he was not athorized to give out a price and hung up. So I called back and asked for a manager. I asked him if he couldn't give out prices could he tell me if there was a current tire sale or special. He told me that there was a sale but couldn't give me any details. So I called another local tire shop in Gilroy. He gave me prices, options etc. The next morning (today) I bought 4 tires with a 65,000 mile warranty with free repairs and 5,000 mile rotations. For under $400. Then I came home and looked on line for the Costco website and saw that they have a tire sale - but only for one brand. Sorry Costco. I like the warehouse but you might have sold me, and others, tires if you could talk on the phone. I might have paid a little more but I was looking for tires not a new car. There is no reason to have to drive to tire shops to get prices and sale information. read more

Gigantic store with everything you need! If you walk all the aisles of this place, you will end up with everything that you intended to get, plus about a hundred other things. Also, everything you get will be in quantities of approximately 1 million. The service is good, the store is always clean, and they always are handing out little samples of food items. On weekends, they hand out a TON of samples. The food in the food court is super good (and cheap!) too. Good pizza, and hotdogs with a soda for $1.50. I normally HATE shopping at Costco stores but with a larger and expanding family it is necessary. Costco stores tend to be over-crowded and over-run with rude customers who act like they are shopping in the outdoor markets of a third world country. Frankly, the Costco experience almost always makes me feel like a claustrophobic nervous wreck by the time we get through the check out line and back to the van. I have shopped at other Costco stores located in Chico, Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, San Jose, Sunnyvale, Mountain view, and one in Maryland. The experience I have had in Gilroy tops them all. The store was not over-crowded and the customers were very toned down and not at all rude. The store is well organized and kept up and much more clean than any of the ones we have visited in San Jose. It was a super hot weekend when we ventured in and we were also delighted to see people wearing reasonably decent attire unlike the hooker-style get-up we normally see in the city. This is quite possibly the first time I actually enjoyed shopping and did not feel overwhelmed by the experience. We came to this Costco because we have been exploring the area in hopes of moving to a rural home. We are not disappointed by the experience we had shopping here and if we move to Gilroy we will be shopping here somewhat regularly. Even if we do not decide to move to Gilroy I can still see making the extra effort to do my shopping here even if it is a little out of the way. read more
