Let me just say: I already loved Costco (hello, Executive Members over here! ‍), but after our experience at the SanTan Village location off Market Street, I'm convinced it's not just a warehouse--it's a community center with a side of birthday magic. I was planning a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend (TikTok trend) and had the pleasure of working with Bob, one of the general managers, when I came in to pick out his cake. Bob was so helpful, friendly, and genuinely excited for the surprise--he made sure I knew I could call on him or anyone on staff to make sure everything was perfect. But the real Costco magic happened the day of the surprise. My mom and grandparents got there early to hold down a few tables in the food court and even brought balloons to make the space festive. That's when Ernie (another amazing general manager) came over, saw the celebration happening, and without missing a beat, lit up with excitement. Not only did he ask if we needed anything else (already above and beyond!), he also surprised us with FREE ICE CREAMS for the group . And THEN -- yes, it gets better -- Ernie gathered a small squad of Costco employees and led a full-on "Happy Birthday" serenade right there in the food court. My boyfriend was so surprised and touched, and honestly, we were all grinning from ear to ear. Massive thanks to Bob and Ernie for being absolute gems. Went to this location yesterday with an early visit card that we pay extra for. With it being the superbowl weekend, we expected it to be busy and it was. Who didn't expect it to be busy? The management of this store? I've never seen such long check out lines at a Costco. Most of the registers were closed which was mind blowing. People were angry to say the least. Even on normal weekends this location is consistently understaffed on the registers with a large amount of the check out lanes closed and longer lines. Time to fire the idiots running this store. read more

Tired of and frustrated with this Costco. Always issues here. With the exception for the Customer Service desk, it's been a poor experience with other employees. Optical Center (specifically Frank) is rude and shouldn't be allowed to be around customers. Just his energy makes you want to leave the warehouse. Dealt with him twice in two weeks, determined it's just his attitude and not just someone having a bad day. Also, when lines are busy and staff pushes you to go through self-checkout promising a staff member will scan your items, make sure they do. It's infuriating when you're trying to scan $500 of products while two employees are laughing and goofing off right in front of everyone trying to checkout. Not a good look. And when you try to teach members to first use the app (before asking a team member) to see if products are in stock, don't tell them it's in stock if the app says it is. Just drove down specifically for something that says Available (at your warehouse) from the app only to find out it's not. These are just recent issues, I won't go on about past problems regarding customer service. Hopefully this is enough to pay attention. We are long term loyal customers spending a small fortune each month just for groceries. read more

I've never been to a Costco I don't love. This location is very convenient to me and I have been here too many times lol. Costco always carry new unique things for sale and today, I found a beautiful succulent arrangement for $19.99! I also found a box of 8 crispy potato corn dogs on sale for $7.69! (regular price is $10.69) this is an item I've never seen before but another shopper said it's so good so of course I had to get a bag. Their regular prices are very good, but when they have sales, prices can't be beat. Today, they also had a couple events going on- jewelry, Candy & Chocolate Co. dipped apples- 3 of them for $13.99 which is a great price. This store is always busy but today seemed busier than usual. I think people were stocking up for Super Bowl tomorrow. Could not believe I scored 2 free huge protein bars at one of the sample stations. They sell for $4 each! Ok I confess I feel like I finally am adulting hard with my brand new Costco card. I have been very reluctant through the years because a long time ago when this Costco opened I had a card and barely used. I just really dislike the crowded warehouse shopping experience and shopping carts all over parking lot BUT this week I was tasked to get some cakes for the school I volunteer to celebrate their achievements so I had no choice but try again. I am so pleased with my experience this time around. As my friends have told me they are impressed I not only got a card but I went full on the executive membership lol because I did like some of their travel incentives. Back to the store experience, my review is mostly based on getting the membership and going to the bakery. It was pretty awesome! A tiny bit of pressure over which membership to get but I had already come aware of what I wanted so that didn't really impact me. The bakery experience was fabulous. I wish I knew the name of the cake decorating lady, she did such a lovely job putting in all the writing and school mascot in not only one but four sheet cakes. She was super patient with me explained she was going to give it a try and sure enough when I came to pick up today everything was done one time and am loving how it turned out. While I was walking around I did see some interesting things so I will probably go back and make use of this membership as the pricing for bulk stuff does look reasonable. Until next time! read more

Love how Costco has interesting products and usually good prices on items I want to buy. They did run out of a boba tea drink mix that I wanted, but I recently heard that they are selling them again. I haven't checked the store to see if it's actually in stock or not. I am sad when they run out of items that I want to buy or if their store inventory is incorrect. I tried their chicken bake for the first time and I thought it was pretty good with a nice crispy exterior. I would like it without bacon but I know most others like it with bacon. The bacon gives it more flavor along with what I think is Cesar dressing. read more

I have been hearing about Costco selling Royal Asia prawn dumplings. I thought no way! Apparently they're on sale for $9.99 for a 40 count so had to go get them as that's an insane price and I love dim sum. I looked it up on Amazon for comparison and it's $7.99 for only 7 count? As always, whenever I go to Costco, I browse for any new products and there are certain items I always get there. Sure enough, they had the prawn dumplings that I love on sale for only $9.99. Also grabbed some wild sockeye salmon $10.99/lb which is a great price too. I got home and prepared my concoction of soy sauce and chili oil to dip the dumplings as I didn't care for the soy ginger sauce it came with. Unfortunately, I thought the dumplings weren't very flavorful and the skin was way too thick for my liking. Still an amazing deal! I think Costco buyers do an amazing job other than their furniture which I've never been a fan of. read more

It is taking 15 minutes And the manager literally never showed up that they promised. Well they made us wait 107° heat with our baby. On a typical day Costco is full of people. I never seem to be able to avoid the crowds. Not sure if Costco is ever not busy. Their food court is usually full too. Not surprising since the food is good and draws a crowd. Their pizza comes out hot and tasty. I don't like that they had a lot of sauce on the pizza today. I like there to be less pizza sauce. I like that the cheese fully covers the top of the pizza. Some places the cheese isn't all there. The pepperoni is quite salty but I don't think that comes any other way. I know that they have samples for people to try some of the food items before purchase. That's nice because then people can decide if they like it before buying a large bulk size of a product. I have been avoiding the sample stations though since it is so crowded. They have a large variety of products for sale like clothes, toys, cakes, wine, plants, jackets, pants, phones, laptops, Apple products, cleaning supplies, toilet tissue, ice cream, and more! read more

This review is for Costco Optical, not the general store. This is my second year going here for my prescription glasses. I had no problem with the doctor, who isn't affiliated with Costco, but with Costco's optical department where you buy the glasses after getting your prescription. Both years that I went here I was measured for my progressive lenses by the same guy. I remember him very well because last year he messed up the measurement and I had to get my lenses re-measured and replaced so I had to wait another week to get them. This year when I happened to get the same guy I didn't imagine that he would do it again so I didn't say anything to him about the previous year. First off, he was rude and short with me both times. This second time he screwed up the measurement again. I tried them on at the store when I picked them up, but assumed I just had to get used to the new lenses so I took them home and after a short time realized they were so off that I had to go back. Both times when I went back I got a different employee who, both times, told me the measurements on the lenses were way off. Not even close. I couldn't believe it. Rude and incompetent. But only that one guy. Both of the other employees that helped me when I went to get the glasses corrected were worlds apart from this guy. They seemed knowledgeable and explained everything in detail and were actually very friendly. I'm not sure what the name is of the guy that messed up my glasses both times, but between his rudeness and incompetence, it was enough to know that I will be finding a new place to get my glasses next year. I don't even think I would have to put his name if I knew it because I'm sure they could just ask his coworkers and they would point him right out. Unfortunate because I love Costco otherwise. I give 2 stars only because the employees that helped me get my lenses corrected were awesome. read more

My wife and I just got a membership for the first time. We love the pre made meals. They're good food not fast food, tasty and for the price we eat a couple of times. I love Costco. What is there NOT to love? Aisles upon aisles of food, clothes, essentials, tools, etc. Samples on every corner if you catch them on a good day. DELICIOUS Food Court with very cheap options (you can get a very yummy hot dog or pizza for under $3). This location gets VERY crowded and can be a bit of a sensory overload, but the deals, samples and cheap food is very worth it. read more

I have been a Costco Business Executive member since 1998 and was very happy with the service and quality of the products. But I was very dissatisfied with the quality of the fresh Alaskan salmon I bought recently. I opened it the next day after my purchase, and it has a fishy, unpleasant smell. I have to throw it away. Of course, I know I could return it, but I did not have the time to go to the store again. I had the same experience with a packaged shrimps, not frozen but in the refrigerator section. read more

I'm updating my review since my first one a few years ago because I've been coming here frequently and I've noticed a difference in the vibe since the last review I left. I'm not sure if you can see my last review, but in the past I was met with several unfriendly employees but it seems things are back to normal. The employees here have been so much nicer. I'm always happy and outgoing so it was weird back when employees were glaring at me or not saying hello back. Things have improved here greatly :) The store is always well stocked and although it gets busy, all costcos get busy so I can't knock them for that. I wanted to personally commend a few employees that I've spoken to because they were very friendly. Kara in returns/membership was nice and helpful when I went to return an IPad I bought. Both Jenny's working in member services were very nice. The Jenny with blonde hair has amazing customer service skills and she resolved a few membership questions/issues I had. Not once did I feel rushed or stupid for some of my questions. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. She helped me over the phone when I called in, and in person when I came to the store. She was exemplary with her customer service and attitude, it was very nice to get helped by her! Katie in the food department has helped me a few times and she's always nice and friendly so I'm giving her a shoutout too. The Queen Creek location is actually closer to my house by I choose to come to this location thanks to the pleasant experiences I had with member services staff. read more

Called to buy tires for my daughters car who needed them installed within a couple days. They told me I could order them online and they would have them delivered to their warehouse the next day. I tried to make an appointment to install them and they said they could schedule the day after they came in. I called to see if they arrived the next day and they told me they weren't there and would take 7-10 days. I called back and spoke to one of the store managers who said he was going to look into it and get back to me. He seemed to be sincere. Awhile later the tire department manager called me back, explained the policy again and did nothing but try to sell me tires that were hundreds more with less warranty. I tried to cancel my order and they said they couldn't do it because the tires weren't in. The same day I went to Discount Tire and got a full set installed hours later. Meanwhile, 4 days later and the tires still aren't in so I can get my $800 back. Seriously considering canceling my membership and joining Sam's instead. Employees make mistakes, but two managers doing nothing to resolve it? Terrible! read more

Still loving Costco. Got a new laptop online and picked up at this location. While in the store, I couldn't find what I wanted and asked one of the Costco people for help. He was able to tell me none of the Costco carry the item I want anymore. This saved me a lot of driving hassle. I'm really glad they are offering more Asian products the past couple years at better prices. Unfortunately the Boba Mochi I was looking for they're not carrying right now. Guessing because of the holiday season? Hopefully afterward the holidays, they will carry them again. Found what I was looking for at World Market in normal people quantity but I like Costco's prices for things like this better. Ok team! A 4am visit to Costco in Gilbert, San Tan and I must admit, Costco staff is the best. As over 300 people waited in line to enter the store they keeper everyone informed on product availability and the process on how to navigate the store. Once you enter the store Costco staff was directing traffic particularly where the water and toilet paper is located. Walmart and other stores need to replicate the buying process from Costco. When the store opened the shelves were stocked and the doors were not open until the store is completely ready. We are definitely living in an interesting time and we will get through this. Never again. Never ever ever again! Costco parking lots are always busy, so I was prepared for it but this one was insane. The lot here was about half the size of a regular lot and traffic trying to get through it was locked tighter than an L.A. rush hour traffic jam. I was talking to a friend whose mom works there and she said the employees often had to park way up by the businesses off the main road and had to hike their way into the store. Inside they had plenty of registers running and had everything you want so long as it's not toilette paper, but the aisles were crammed with people and displays making it almost impossible to get through. Did I mention I was there in the middle of a Wednesday? So I guess I'll be driving up to the one off of Sossaman and the 60. It may be further to drive but it'll be better for my Fung schway. read more

This is a very nice Costco location. It's everything you'd expect from Costco, including crowds because they sell quality items at reasonable prices. Something I've never seen at any other Costco is a line of people - a long, crazy line of people - waiting for the rotisserie chicken to be done. Apparently that's a thing here. The line I witnessed went across the entire back of the store, which is huge! I'm not a fan so can't understand, but apparently it must be really good! This store is well managed. It is clean and the aisles are well stocked and maintained. The employees that we encountered were friendly. read more

Bought new Michelin tires last year. One of them has a slow leak. Brought it in for them to check, they could not find a leak. They did find a nail in another tire, and fixed it, for which I am grateful. While waiting for tire shop, went shopping. Found Tuscan melons, rotiss chicken, spareribs, and some fine looking tri tip, and a dozen beautiful croissants. Time will tell about slow leak. I took my car into the Tire Center to have my tires changed. My car has never been ANYWHERE other than the dealer, but tires at Costco were about $ 150.00 cheaper so I took the chance. WHAT A MISTAKE. I had an appointment time and told that It would be about an hour, no biggie. I waited 3 hours. I finally got the call my car was ready, when I got to the desk they apologized for the long wait and said that the machine that pulls the tires off the rim was broken and that is why it took so long, he gave me my key and sent me on my way. I drove 8 minutes home and when I got there, I thought I should take a look at my new tires. I was pretty shocked The tire shop scratched EVERY one of my black rims. I immediately got back in my car and drove right back. I talked to the manager (after I waited for him to finish his lunch break), Prior to the manager coming out another worker that was at the desk had me bring my car around he took a dirty rag, put something on this dirty rag and started "cleaning" my rims, he rubbed dirt in all of the scuffs. The manager finally made it out, took photos and then put in a claim. I got a call from the claims department a week or so later, she told me that she was going to go back to the shop and get the evidence and be back in touch with me. So Costco did their own investigation, looked at that pictures that the manager took, did bother to ask me what had happened or ask for my photos and today I got the call that they are not willing to pay for repairs to my rims. I will never buy tires from Costco again. I am taking my car into the dealership to have my rims repaired at my own expense, so much for saving money going to Costco. Never again Costco Never again. read more

Most amazing people provide exceptional customer service to every single member that walks through the doors, even to the non-members that enter through the exit to take advantage hof the food they sell which is supposed to be for members only. Please if you come to get a $1.50 hotdog which comes with a refillable drink, or anything else. THIS IS NOT A RESTAURANT! Do not eat in the store, moreover you are then removing your mask dropping ketchup and mustard on the floor. CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF. We do a lot of grocery shopping here, plus clothing when needed, as well as personal care items (e.g. shampoo). This is often the first place we go, and anything we can't get here we will then go to a grocery store. And if you need other stuff, from appliances to tires to vacations, you can get that here too. read more
