First of all let's discuss the AC. It's summer here in Phoenix, but walking into Dillards is like walking into a cool breeze on Haiwai. It's worth going just to walk around in their nicely air conditioned store. Once you get past the frigid AC you realize that the selection of merch here is extensive and well organized. The prices on their bath towels were reasonable and they were just so soft that it's going to feel like you're drying off with a baby lamb. There are plenty of employees, but they aren't intrusive which is nice. They just appear conveniently when you need them. There is plenty of parking here and it's easy to get in and out of if you enter from the east side of the building where there is a light. read more

The shoes dept here is always bad. The workers always seem too busy to help out with finding a size or to check out. The last few times I have stopped by, the workers are not on the floor or they are short staffed. Also, it's pretty messy with shoes on the floor that people have left behind. read more

What a nice staff of employees!!! This location is smaller but carry almost everything! This locations sale racks are actually not bad as they have some really good things at good prices on their markdowns. This location carrys MAC makeup but you can only do exchanges of Mac purchases, if you purchased it from Dillard's and also, please note that they don't do Mac returns unless it's purchased from Dillard's either. Clothes shopping for a couple items. Sadly will have to return pull-on pants due to waistband appears completely stretched out. Just didn't notice when tried on in store. Also found a cute FP top on sale. The sales lady in the FP section is a gem! She was so friendly, funny and went above and beyond in helping me find what I was looking for. Then on our way out another employee was gracious in helping me find my way to the parking lot. I noticed that many workers in the store appear relaxed and happy to be there. I come to this location of Dillards a bit too often since I leave nearby. They always have great sales and deals and the staff here is professional, kind and attentive. My mom also always finds great shoes and jewelry here. Wonderful selection of brands including Free People, Good American, Birkenstock and Ugg. read more

First of all... I shop here often because it's close and there isn't really many other options for clothing. Today was particularly odd. The clothes looks like from little house on the prairie. If that's the style then we are in trouble. I saw a t-shirt on a mannequin that says "I love crying". The girl helping me at Mac (I know it's separate) was wearing a mask. Usually the Mac girls are all dolled up with makeup. It was just a weird vibe today. Im not old and know trendy clothes and this wasn't it. I wish we had better options. This store is a mess from top to bottom. Proper management is nonexistent, and it shows the place is filthy and dusty. If you have dust sensitivities steer clear of this cesspool. Registers on the sales floor are literally filled with old trash and clutter, like a hoarder's corner, yet they still try to brand themselves as "luxury." The bigger issue? The staff. For the most part, they come off as racist while simultaneously broke and envious of people who have resources especially black people who aren't struggling like them. Which makes absolutely no sense in the service industry. How can you look down on people when you're not even up yourself? The contradiction is laughable, and it creates an environment that's not only unprofessional but openly hostile. read more

I am absolutely appalled at how my mother and I were treated while shopping at this Dillards location. I am a Dillards elite card holder and have shopped at Dillards for years and I have never had an experience like this one. We walked in and began looking around. We noticed a security guard who was behind us. Everywhere we went in this store, the security guard was following us and muttering into his radio/walkie. This went on and on for a good 10-15 mins. I finally said rather loudly, "Why is the security guy following us?" He finally left us alone to shop in peace. Shortly afterwards, we left the store, totally disgusted and did not purchase anything. I don't know why we were targeted or who this security guard was trained by, but lets go over a few things: When you see a mother/daughter or sisters walk into a store with nothing but a wallet/wristlet in hand, browsing the product in a store, these people are not the shoppers to be looking out for. Each of us had a luxury $1,000 wallet, luxury sunglasses on our faces (about $500 each), the key to a Porsche in our pocket (which was parked outside in their parking lot), and I had just been to a salon and had $1,000 worth of extensions sewn into my hair! With a description like that, WHY was their security guard following us around the store?! We obviously had plenty of cash to spend in this store!!! Like I said, I have NEVER been followed around a store by security, ever!!! Here's a tip for the security guard: when you see a group of young people in dark hoodies running into the store with sledgehammers, and a bunch of random cars all running and circling in the parking lot, THOSE are the people you need to worry about in your store! NOT the mother and daughter who parked halfway across the parking lot and walked in with a wallet and sunglasses! UNBELIEVABLE! read more

I used to buy most of my clothing from Dillard's. They have always had a pretty good big & tall men's section. Came here to find a nice new Blazer or Sport coat for the Holidays. Expected to spend $ 300 to $500. Wife went to her section, I went to mine. Middle aged bald salesman in a nice suit, standing in the counter area. I assume that salespeople are still expected to assist customers. I was the only shopper in this section. No help. I searched the racks, found a likely coat, tried it on, still no help . Returned it to rack. Found another, tried it on, still no help. The useless lump was studiously ignoring me. I don't expect special treatment, just common courtesy. Being a regular guy, and having worked all my life, and at 73 still working I'm offended by laziness. To finish a tirade, I left the store with no purchase, and will not return. They will survive without my money, but their lack of service will eventually cause their demise. read more

Swung into the store tonight in search of some classy clothes for a conference. The store presentation was well kept as always, but the presence of the associates was non existent. They were on the sale floor, but zero interest in the customers. I walked by seven associates and not a single one even took the effort to say hello. The two ladies at the accessory area where to busy holding up the counter and I even made the effort to make eye contact with one of them. She stared and kept talking with with other associate. Thank you for making it easy to shop someone where else and it's not a surprise that the parking lot is always empty. Good first, then bad. Store was organized when I walked in. First time in the store and I didn't know my way aroun. I asked the woman upstairs for help to find the luggage area. She gave me great direction. I had an employee approach me asking me if I needed help and she gave me good information on luggage but then she approached me two more times in less than five to ten minutes asking me if I needed help. While she approached me two more times a Sucuritas security guard comes close enough to my kid and I saying do you have your eyes on them two times. Then he says he'll just hang around the area. I walked over to the other side of the ornaments. He was standing there on his phone. When I looked to The right of the ornaments I saw two brunette employees just staring at me my daughter While were looking around after choosing our luggage. I have never experienced a federal crime against me and my daughter in a Dillards store. From the looks of past reviews I can see that we are not the first. read more

Dillards has high prices for clothing that are inconsistent in size and the quality is not there. They don't even offer alterations. Bought a blazer for 200.00 and the sleeves may have been the right length for the arms of a gorilla, but not someone who takes a size 6. Took off the tags and threw them away before I wore it and now it is not eligible for return. If you want great customer service, quality clothing that is sized right and free alterations, shop at Nordstrom. read more

I went to the San Tan Mall Dillards to return 2 pairs of shoes that we had bought for our daughters. When I gave the shoes to the woman at the counter she looked at the bottom and said she saw some dirt on the soles of the shoes so she couldn't return them. I told her the shoes had only been worn in the store and in our house when the girls tried them on with their dresses, but she continued to tell me I couldn't return them. She then informed me that she had in fact sold the shoes to my wife and daughters and told my wife at the time they couldn't wear the shoes outside. I told her the shoes were never worn outside. They had been purchased Friday night and I tried to return them Saturday afternoon but I didn't have my wife's debit card and couldn't complete the return. She responded, "I wasn't hear on Friday but I sold these shoes to the lady". I showed her the receipt with the date and time of purchase (Friday at 4pm). I then showed her pictures of my daughters at their dance wearing shoes that were not the shoes I was returning. She then called a manager telling him, that the shoes were worn and repeating the lie that she sold them to my wife and sent me across the store to the manager because he couldn't be bothered to walk over to help. When I got to the manager he barely looked or spoke to me, and he acted like I was a giant inconvenience. He checked the shoes and did eventually grant me my request for a return. I said thank you to him to which he didn't reply and I left. I called my wife on the way home and confirmed that the girl who sold her the shoes was a young girl, late teens or early 20's, not the woman in her late 50's or early 60's who claimed she sold the shoes. I also found out that one of the pairs of shoes was the floor model (probably why they were dirty on the bottom). Needless to say I was unimpressed with the customer service I received and the fact that I was being called a liar to my face when I said the shoes had never been worn outside. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER RECEIVED. I went into the Gilbert San Tan location to return 2 shirts and a tie I received for Christmas. Just not my style. One shirt had the yellow "POP" sticker on it and they returned it for store credit no questions asked. The other shirt and tie however did not. They were the same brand and had all other tags still on them. I was sent up to customer service from the mens department. The girl said she couldn't do anything. I explained I called ahead and was told I would receive store credit. She then grabbed the manager. I got a young lady name Cecily who said she is the assistant manager To be clear I called ahead and explained that I didn't have the receipt or the little proof of purchase sticker but all other tags were on the items. The gentleman on phone said it was not a problem and they will just give me store credit. Which I am completely fine with not having the receipt. She said she would have to look up how they were purchased. I offered her the name of the person who bought them for me. She then said she would need more information such as what store and register they were purchased at. WHAT?! I said they were purchased in Scottsdale and she told me I would need to go to that store and there is nothing she can do. Cecily said she had no way of knowing if the items were even purchased at Dillards and that they don't sell those brands (Quieti and Merino). THEY ARE LITTERALY IN THE STORE, JUST LOOKED AT SHIRTS AND TIES OF THE SAME BRAND. I corrected her and told them where they are located in the store, I was a bit heated at this point. She practically came out and accused me of theft. Do they really think that less than two weeks after Christmas you may have people looking to return items and may not have a receipt? I asked for her supervisor. All she said was "He's not here". I asked for his name and contact information. She wrote on a piece of paper "Neil" and handed me the paper. I again asked for his contact information. She just said it is the same as the store number. I asked her again to write it down and for her name as well. Talk about the absolute RUDEST person I have every encountered at a retail store!! And she's the assistant manager?! Scraping the bottom of the barrel on that one. No wonder Amazon is doing so well. Jeff Bezos must have had an encounter with someone like Cecily and wanted to spare the rest of the human race. I will absolutely with out a doubt NEVER buy anything from Dillards again. read more

I love this store! I have written before but don't see it. There is a lady upstairs in designer clothing (I will be spelling this incorrectly but I believe her name is Henrieka). She came to my rescue several times; once while needing a garment in a hurry for a business event, and another time for emergency gift for a friend. She also can find the best bargains in my style! The manager is very customer-service oriented, too. I had an issue that he resolved very fairly and promptly. I now live 50 miles away but go to this Dillard's first! read more

Well I think they are hiring because they are Certainly short staffed. Here is the tip the entire 2nd floor is Women's clothing , juniors, dresses, etc.... But the tip is take your items to the 1st floor and get checked out. The first floor is adequately staffed (at least today it was) and had no problem finding someone to check me out. WORST customer service ! Went this Thursday morning with my husband to find a dress shirt for a wedding for Friday . He tried on a shirt we loved the color but didn't have the size he needed so he tried to try another shirt that was a different color that was bagged up. The moment he opened it up to see if it fitted him. One associate just stared at us and didn't offer to help get his measurements or bother to help. 5 mins later another associate was clocking in and helped 2 white gentleman's very nicely. But the moment my husband was trying to try the shirt on the associate rudely started to complain about the shirts how she had to fold all them back up to how they were just because he was trying them on ! ( let me remind you it was only 2 shirts he was trying on ) we literally walked out and drove 20 mins more to go to another Dillard's to get better service! Can't believe someone works here and doesn't offer to help out ; instead complains about their job! At that point don't bother to even apply or even walk in for your shift with that NASTY attitude. That's just pure disgusting and the fact she treated other men better just because they were WHITE and I was MEXICAN makes me feel more than DISCRIMINATED! Forsure lost a loyal customer! I have purchased MAC products since 2009 and I went in today at the San tan location to get my usual monthly stock and the girl at the register was not friendly at all and then proceeds to tell me she cannot find me in the system : I told her I have been coming here since 2009 and I have re-registered 2 times once at chandler mall in Dillards and once here at San tan and I also order online, she stated they cannot control that Dillard deletes profiles. This is just unacceptable when you pay hundreds of dollars at their store . I will not be back and just order online. read more

I just left here, after hands-down my worst customer Service experience of 2018. I came in looking to simply return a shirt I ordered online, I had my paperwork ready to go. I went to 2 different men's registers, no employees anywhere to be found, I go to shoes, and the lady at the register there tells me to go upstairs to customer service. I get upstairs and the lady working the counter is preparing gift boxes, she rudely asked if I have a question, as if I'm inconveniencing her day (no other customers anywhere in sight). I tell her I have a return, & was sent to her for it. She says I can do that any counter in the store and there's one right around the corner that can help me. I reiterate that I was sent to her specifically to return this, and that I had already been to three different counters none of which had anybody to help. She tells me "well then it's gonna be a few minutes". After tossing aside her gift box she again tells me that anybody at any counter can return the items for me and sends me to a counter on the other side of the floor, where no employee was found to help me. After wandering aimlessly to a 5th counter I found someone to do the return, which took all of a minute and a half. In the amount of time it took the "manager" at customer service to divert me she could have returned the damn thing 3 times. What a joke. read more

My husband and I took a day off from work to look for a suit for something important to us. We walked into Dillards STV and the choices were overwhelming. They had just opened so a wonderful woman named Basila took care of us. We were clueless. She took care of everything. She was so dedicated and you could tell she loved what she was doing. We ended up leaving with a beautiful Ralph Loren suit, shirt and a great experience. I wish every shopping experience was like that and it was 100% BASILA!!!!! read more

No one ever shops here, you can always get front row parking and the shoe department kept me occupied for an hour. Both Dillard's and Macy's at San Tan mall seem to be mini-version department stores. He was super attentive, listened to what she wanted, and didn't stop until we found it! The only issue was with inventory - she wanted the juicy gold and it was not in stock. I'm giving Dillard's a good review mainly because of, well read those bad reviews. Someone didn't get coddled or talked to the way they expected. Someone else just wah wah cry. I go here every single day in one form or another and it's retail. It's not 5 star Beverly Hills cater to-ing...its Dillard's. You go in, get your stuff, maybe get a little bit of customer service and you leave. Judging by the droves of people there for the sale today I'd say they are doing pretty good without the people complaining about never coming back. Even walking through the store I'll catch a smile or a hello from a staff member. You worried about not enough people? That's labor costs. All retail controls it. You complaining about not enough people and swearing to all holy to shop forever online is exactly why the labor problem exists and you perpetuating it doesn't make it better. Sorry you had to walk up stairs to be met by someone tasked with 5 other jobs. I hope you can respect these rather low paid very hard working people in the future. They are amazing! read more
