I love exploring different locations as it always feels like a treasure hunt and this location was no exception. Although it's not a convenient location for me, they carry the most Asian food and snacks. I was like a kid in a candy store when I found some items I hadn't seen before at my local Costco. I ended up purchasing a bag of dried persimmon slices and a case of red ginseng drink. Although it was a weekday, there were a lot of samples which is always a huge plus in my book and so fun:) I love new discoveries through sampling. As always, it's so convenient to fill up on gas after shopping. Such great deal to get 5% cash back on gas too. read more

Costco in Mesa, Arizona is pretty much what you'd expect--in the best way possible! Parking can be a little hectic (but let's be real... it's Costco, what do you expect?!). A good deal will always bring a crowd, and clearly people know where to go. What stood out to me at this location was the staff. Everyone I encountered was friendly, helpful, and kept things moving. Even though the lines looked long, they had plenty of employees working, so everything moved super fast. I was honestly impressed with how quickly we got in and out. I also have to give a shoutout to their produce section. The quality and quantity you get for the price is unmatched. If you're shopping for a family or just like to stock up, it really makes sense. I'll always recommend Costco--especially for families. That membership truly pays for itself, and the fact that you can shop at any location across states is a huge plus. I absolutely love Costco, the fact that you can walk in looking to spend $20 and leave spending $5000 is a treat in itself. They have the best stuff no matter what you're looking for. I love browsing the aisles every time I go in, which is at least once a week, and seeing different things. I know that at least if I have an issue, the return policy is super easy and I can always exchange or get a refund. They have an awesome selection for anything and everything and I always have a great time interacting with the employees. I am a huge Costco fan. read more

Hey there, my YELPies! You know how passionate I am about customer service, and let me tell you, COSTCO really dropped the ball this time! First, I want to give a big shoutout to Jimmy, Roy, Britt, Dan, Greg, and possibly Alex, along with the three front-end supervisors. On one of my many visits, I experienced some disappointing treatment from one of the front-end employees, which was especially disheartening given my long history with COSTCO and my loyalty as a member. My son and I approached the checkout area, and I noticed that the few open lines were quite long. One of the front-end supervisors overheard me and kindly apologized, explaining that a cashier was on the way and that I could follow her once she was assigned. I appreciated that. When Britt was assigned, I followed her to the bay, but then another employee--let's call her GREEN SHIRT/Brunette--told me they were taking the next person from the adjacent line. When I tried to explain that we had just come from that long line and were instructed to follow Britt, she rolled her eyes and called someone else over. I felt dismissed, and that's where customer service should have stepped in to apologize and clarify their process. Instead, I flagged down someone who I thought was a manager--JIMMY--who did exactly what he was supposed to do: listened, apologized, and offered to help. He explained he couldn't assist directly but would get a supervisor, which he did. Roy then approached me, and his customer service was top-notch! He listened to my concerns and apologized, asking how they could make things right. I told him I didn't need anything except for them to improve their service. He promised to discuss it with the other managers. Being who I am, I wanted to address the situation further. During my checkout, Britt was professional and helpful, but GREEN SHIRT/Brunette tried to engage Alex in a conversation about me, which was inappropriate and refused to box my items. I pointed out that she was indeed talking about me. Thankfully, Roy returned and helped box my items. While GREEN SHIRT/Brunette's initial behavior could have been overlooked, the disrespect of discussing a member in front of them was unacceptable. After my transaction, I spoke with Dan and Greg, the store managers, about my experience and the young lady's behavior. They assured me they would address it with her, and I reiterated my desire for them to improve their customer service. Typically, I'd want to stay and see if the managers followed through, but knowing COSTCO's commitment to customer service, I took their word for it. Quality does affect value. In short, my YELPies, remember to treat everyone with respect in all that you do. Word of mouth is powerful! read more

I Go there today to shop and renew my membership, I have had the executive for a while now. I went in at 9am for the early entry...but I decided to renew my membership, saw no line, so I get to the counter. I was going to take a downgrade for a month for financial reasons temporary. She told me if I downgrade my card, I have to leave, go back outside and get in line for downgrading. I went in with it still executive...the manager comes and he's weird in character typical I don't care..attitude, says yes to her request. He then says I should go shop first, then come back. WTF, I tell him that's not right when I came in with my executive in tact...he said weirdly, we are just trying to give good customer service...lol...dude is on a power trip at Costco...or just odd because that is extremely stupid. I never had this issue at other Costcos, they actually don't throw people out for downgrading, when I have walked in with the executive, dumb. Be careful executives, I am here to tell you shop first or you will be thrown OU, if you downgrade. Because the lady with black hair is also snooty. read more

Costco...the land of giant carts, endless samples, and unexpected treasures. It's like stepping into a shopping adventure where you never know what you'll find. From gourmet snacks to oversized teddy bears, Costco has it all. During this visit, I noticed they also made the change from the plastic roastierrie chicken containers to the plastic bags. While it's probably less plastic on the environment, I'm not sure I'm a fan of the bag style. Otherwise, just remember, pace yourself at the sample stations - those tiny bites can be deceivingly filling! read more

Disappointing Kirkland BBQ Pork Experience I purchased the Kirkland BBQ pork and found it unsatisfactory. Much of the meat was fat and connective tissue--parts that I would normally discard if cooking at home. I contacted Costco customer service hoping the product could be evaluated for quality improvement or removal. Unfortunately, they were not interested in investigating the issue and only provided instructions for a refund. I was disappointed, as I had hoped Costco would address the quality concerns rather than just offer a return. read more

I will not be coming back to this Costco, people all up in my business while I was using self checkout and then delays exiting as the chick was counting the items in my cart, she said the receipt had an extra. Turns out she wasn't counting each pack of water separately. On 5/28 during our routine Costco run with my daughter, we encountered food sample lady Carolyn. We took the samples she was offering and handed it to our child first. Carolyn immediately took it upon herself to tell us "you are welcome" every time we grabbed a sample. We haven't even finished getting everyone samples and she immediately began lecturing us that you should thank people. She did not do this to anyone else who just grabbed a sample and walked away. None of them were Asian I would add. This is not the first time we have experienced some level of condescending behavior from Carolyn. My parents have also encountered said individual receiving similar treatment from this person. She did the same "you are welcome" to my elderly father and asked him "are you gonna buy it now?" Furthermore, when confronted about her prejudiced behavior she dared us to speak to management. I am shocked this type of person is allowed to work at Costco. I hope management takes action and gives her some basic customer service training to say the least. read more

Very disappointed in Costco's tire service. They offer "free tire rotation" if you buy tires there, but yesterday they told me they could not rotate my tires because its a Costco policy that the better tread should be left on the rear of the vehicle! I've never heard such nonsense. The entire reason you rotate your tires is to get the better rear tread switched to the front of the car for better control and to get more life out of the tires. This policy is nothing more than a blatant attempt to sell more tires. Shame on you Costco. read more

Overall, Costco is terrific. I would say that the change to the food court was generally not positive. There used to be three different lines, which made good use of the space but now there is just one very long, single file line that can back up way into the area where people are trying to exit the registers. It is still a good value though. Also, I would say that the self check registers for the warehouse checkouts were a nice addition. read more

Was buying a box of pizza when I encountered this Anthony kid manning the cashier. First, he tried to direct me to use the Kiosk but I waited as I prefer to pay cash. I ignored his look of attitude as I placed my order. He handed me back my money in a tossing fashion, naturally, the coins jumped from my hand onto the counter. This kid, rather than be apologetic, stated it's not his fault that I could not catch the coins. He was rude, defensive, no sense of Accountability, and to top it off, he had the audacity to call his co-worker for rescue. Spoke with Andrew and Tiffany in hopes that this kid will go thru some class re: accountability and rude behavior and how to improve customer service. read more

Horrible experience with the pharmacy. Had to switch my medication from Walgreens to Costco a while back (almost a year) It's a giant cluster ****. It makes no sense to me and contradictory to what I'm being told by different people at the pharmacy and what my doctor's office says. Long story short kids are out of school leaving for CA and I'm told here's a 5 day supply then I need to get a new script for the remainder. Excuse me, I'm leaving today for almost a month and I can't get what I've taken for years because they say I need a new pre auth that they had and didn't even use my insurance when they had it. Yes Costco had my insurance didn't use it and I paid out of pocket on their "Costco plan". They claimed it was cheaper than insurance so they were keeping it that way. Now that I'm leaving for a month this comes up. Told them I'm leaving for 3.5wks and I cant re schedule a flight hotel and rental car for a family of 5. Come on Costco. You had my insurance wouldn't use it claiming it was better to be the Costco plan. Then when I'm headed to the airport 5 days supply (I didn't take it, to much added work for my docs office that's already been done) because people bounce between a Costco plan or run the insurance we have but haven't used. Once I get back canceling my membership for my family my mother inlaw my parents business and personal and switching to Sam's club. 20+yr Costco membership down the drain. This review is for the Costco deli - we ordered their party tray of croissant sandwiches last year for our house warming party (loved it) and we ordered again for our baby shower this last weekend. We needed up ordering three trays of sandwiches and buying a huge box of bagged chips as a side. Their croissant sandwich platters are always fresh, tasty and filling! It's such an easy option for something that is quick to pickup and not messy for guests (plus you don't have to worry about keeping them heated at your party!). Just store in your fridge and pull them out for the party. They come with a pesto sauce side and also a Mayo type of sauce (Chipotle Mayo I think?) - both are delicious. The sandwiches stay fresh for days too, so its nice to have the leftovers! read more

Great location, great people! We found everything we needed and BONUS SAMPLES ARE BACK! We were able to try some yummy pork dinners and salmon, and because of the sample we actually purchased some delightful bratwursts. We had a quick check out, complete with perfect Kathi would loaded our cart with our goodies well placed in their boxes. She was wonderful and kind and everyone should love Kathi as much as we did! Another thing we noticed was how well paved the parking lot was. Smooth ride out, with carts put away too. Overall, 5 stars and 10/10 recommend coming to this Costco! Rebecca, the lady scanning memberships cards denied my senile mother and I because she couldn't remember her birth day and her photo ID "didn't look like her". Such a shame and a pity. Why does she pay for a membership and get denied access? Rebecca showed no empathy and did not try to help at all, just denied us and told us to move out of the line because she was "too busy to deal with us". First and foremost, costco is costco. However, this location is the craziest and by far the most dangerous I have ever been to. As a pregnant woman, I was constantly stressed with people hitting me with their carts and how sometimes it would take 5 minutes or more waiting for the hordes of people to move. This sounds like a ridiculous think to make a review on. But I even had someone slam the end of their cart into my as I waited to check out. This is not the place to shop if you are handicapped, pregnant or if you have children who you have to bring with you. The other customers are rude and seriously, this is the smallest Costco I have seen in the valley. Save your money and try another location. This Costco is not worth it. read more
