I love Winco! Today I came in for some bird seed and cereal and of course the bulk candy section. What I especially love and appreciate about this store and location is how wide the aisles are. I found this location to have the most spacious aisles which made the shipping experience enjoyable. I left with everything I needed and I got some bulk seasonal gummies. I like this store for the deals but at night this place can be a bit sketchy, just to be honest. The service is good. I've found some very good food items here but as far as the milk goes, really pay attention to when it's due to expire. I've had milk from this store go bad before its expiration date. read more

I live right across from Frys on Greenfield and Main Street in Mesa Arizona so obviously it's an easy place to shop because it's convenient. However, now that I've been shopping at Winco for the second time their prices are 1 to 2 dollars less per some items which equates to $10-$20 off my grocery bill. It also shows me that Frys is gouging their customers. The largest shareholder of Frys is black rock and Vanguard. These are the investment firms that own the world don't give your money to Frys. Give it to Winco you get more for your money. read more

Oh how I love you WinCo! We keep WinCo in our rotation of grocery stores, especially when we hit up the Costco next door, and want to get things not in bulk. They are a co-op, so they do not accept credit cards and only take debit cards, cash or checks, because of this, their prices are typically lower which I do find the be the case! They have all the grocery stores needs, but I particularly love their bulk section, where you can "what you need." It features candy, flours, noodles, grains, wheats, trail mix, dog treats, spices and seasonings. TRULY EVERYTHING. You can get just an ounce or you can get 5 lbs. I love that I can refill any containers I already have and be a bit more green and reusable with some of my basics and then some. In addition, their meat is super reasonably priced and they have a great hot food or grab n go food section and bakery. As well as a seasonal or home section! We could easily do all our grocery shopping needs and well worth a trip to check out if you haven't been! The only less than stellar part is their check out. We often use self check out, but do have normal check out lines available. As most grocery stores, there are only a few staff working at a given time, so the lines can get long and you do need to bag yourself, which honestly I prefer. They have a divider between customers, so two can be bagging at any given time and though it is suppose to be more efficient it can cause a back up depending on the situation. Until recently I didn't know they accepted debit cards. I thought they only accepted cash. This was good to know. They have a lot of fresh bread on sale. The FRENCH BREAD at 16 OZ (1 LB) for $1.28 each is a good price. I love the bread toasted. I know others like the bread soft. It is so good when it is fresh. A lot of grocery stores have fresh baked bread. They also have a lot of other items too. I saw some interesting desserts that looked like they were from somewhere else. Choco roles. There were also barritas. They have a huge frozen food section and there are lots of drink options to choose from. The store can get super crowded. I like it when it is not so crowded. Many of the grocery stores around here tend to be crowded during the weekend evenings. Not sure why there are so many people these days. It is much better to live in a cooler climate area although the Winco ac keeps me cool while shopping. read more

Smart and Final meets Costco meets grocery store - this place has everything! I recently visited WinCo Foods for the first time to pick up a coworker some bread from their bakery since she moved to Bullhead City where there isn't a WinCo. Everything was neat and tidy and very well organized!! I talked to the employee in the bakery area and she was very kind. I loved the big aisles and lots of room in the store. My only qualm is that they only take debit cards since I like using my credit card for the points... but not a big deal! I'll be back! read more

They have a lot of good items for sale. I like that their prices are supposed to be on the lower end. It is always good to save where you can. They have teriyaki sauce. It's about five dollars. They had veri veri, hoisin garlic, and island. They have for about two fifty to three dollars a Kikkoman flavor. It was a sweet and sour flavor. They have a stir fry flavor for three dollars and fifty cents to four dollars. They also have a pf chang's brand in a variety of flavors too. They have teriyaki, Mongolian, and kung pao. The store can be crowded sometimes. These days I think all the stores are continuously crowded. So many people live here now, I am not surprised. I am surprised that people want to live here when it's so hot. Seems like it would be much better to live where the weather is better and people can go outside to play in activities. Stolen Shopping Cart by store; Abandoned cart, in 10 minutes I have been shopping this store for many years and during the Covid vaccine murders, the quality of employees has dropped, dramatically, after they were forced to be injected with toxins. Yesterday I spent an hour shopping and was about to checkout so I parked my cart near the registers while I went down one more aisle. I came back in less than 10 min with 3 heavy items and my cart was gone. A lot of old people were shopping and I thought one of them took my cart by mistake so I went up and down the aisles looking and it took 1/2 hour to cover every aisle in the store. No cart! So I did it all over again, walking the entire store and still no cart. Now I have an hour shopping and another hour looking for my shopping cart and I'm 73 years old, this is a strain and an unwanted burden, but I must find my cart and so I covered every aisle for a third time and still no shopping cart. I'm going to have to start over and spend another hour, loading my cart. I have an hour shopping and 90 minutes looking for a stolen cart. My arms are tired from all the weight I'm carrying and no cart! I planned to be home by noon to receive a phone call and the time is now 1:36 and no cart! So I asked a clerk and she said she knows where my cart is. It's in the cooler, as an 'abandoned cart'. I questioned, 'After less than ten minutes?' What's wrong with this store manager? Are these employees trained? Before the Covid murders they were a quality crew. All the people I knew are gone and the replacements look like homeless recruits. How does this store define 'abandoned cart'? One hour? Two hours? Nothing in the cart spoils in 10 min. Why was my cart taken? I went down one aisle and up the next with 3 items! I got home and was trying to feed the wildlife, at sunset. They come every day to eat bowls of oats and bananas. My arms were very sore. I shop once a month, because the store is an hour away. As I'm writing this, the next day at 7:50 AM, I woke up sore all over. I opened the cupboards to get coffee and there's no coffee. I had coffee in my cart, but it was apparently removed by the clerk who took my cart, so now I have to do without coffee for a month! What a terrible way to treat old people during the Thanksgiving holiday! read more

Recently WinCo Foods began offering customers surveys to fill out on the service they get when they shop at WinCo. Since my sister-in-law works and shops at WinCo, she took the survey. At the end there is a comment section. This is what she wrote in the comment section, about her dissatisfaction with this grocery chain since the first of 2021. Obviously, she doesn't want her name published, which is why she posted it on my account. "ALL of these were once virtues that drew me into WinCo. Sadly, they are slipping daily. Prices keep rising. More items keep being discontinued. Those friendly employees have become rude and impatient. Manager is brutal with staff and customers. He calls staff meetings just to discuss customers and staff he doesn't like. Product quality wavers. Most shelved products are turned so the labels don't face forward, and pricing is non-existent on perhaps 60% of shelf items. Bulk items are still good, but no longer a cost advantage. In sum total, the whole attitude of this store has gone to **** since the first of this year. Cleanliness is another issue. Earlier this spring, I watched an employee sweep a large cockroach under a stand of groceries that were supported by wooden pallets. It barely made it under the edge. Three days later it was still there. Their meat section is marginal. Walmart has better meats and better pricing. Expensive cuts of marinated ground beef have bits of gristle they can't seem to eliminate, so I've quit buying it. Their seafood section is a joke: a 4" lobster tail is $12. C'mon! Their rotisserie chicken is smaller and pricier than Walmart's and never as fresh. Their kitchenware section is 100% trash made in China or Taiwan by a junk merchant called "Goodcook". It barely lasts a month or two before failing. Although it claims to come with a lifetime warranty, by the time you try to exchange it for a new one, it's already been discontinued, so Winco won't honor any lifetime warranty. Gotcha, sucka! Again, Walmart has finer stuff for less money. Of twenty-some positions their posters show they're hiring for, only 2 or 3 aren't open. That, and their constant replacement of live cashiers with automated check-outs, sure says a lot for a store that claims to be "employee owned", doesn't it? Okay, this is weird one for me. I had never been to a place that you have to bag your own groceries when in the normal checkout lane. It was a funny embarrassing moment because I paid, I just stood and stared at the cashier rocked my feet back and forth and said "sooooooo?". She then explained you bag your own stuff, lol my bad. They have amazing deals that are priced extremely lower than most other markets. I love their bulk food bins and the prepared meals that are provided by their deli, the are so good. They do a great job at building very tasty prepared meals that you just need to nuke. I honestly would have never known about this place but I was starved in the middle of the night and found out they are open 24 hours so that is how I met WinCo. They do have self checkout so it's super cool and the staff is so sweet and friendly. I will be back :) read more

Never shopped here. I came in for an interview. It was scheduled for 8:00AM - 8:15AM. I was 15 minutes early, I let one of be associates know and he called the assistant manager right in front of me. I left at 8:20 because no one showed up. As I told the recruiter, I have a primary job that I made arrangements at to attend this interview. Extremely unprofessional. I primarily shop Walmart and love Walmart, I get greeted at Walmart. WinCo NEVER, EVEN WHEN IM THE ONLY ONE IN THE AISLE!!! I was at the winco on power and southern, because i work across the street and my boss sent me to go buy water for our customers, it's been 110° plus this last 2 weeks si that nice that we give free water, but as i was purchasing 5 cases of waters i noticed that there is a 2 case limit but am like if i ask nicely maybe i can get this o e time the 5 cases. I went up to the teller and she immediately told me that there is a 2 cases limit, and i nicely asked her u know ive been coming here for al lo g time and its not for me it for our customers and she said that the store manager would not say yes so i should go and come back some other time. There are two listings here on Yelp. However, if you check Winco's website the address they show is THIS one (Power Rd), not the Hampton address. So I'm putting my review here. This building used to be Costco. Costco moved about a mile down the road, and Winco moved in. Winco reminds me of Food4Less. Same basic layout, and I don't think Food4Less took credit cards either. Plus you bagged yourself, just like Winco. The prices here are mostly reasonable. You can do better in a regular grocery if you shop the sales, however. For everyday prices these guys are a little lower, and I think at least some of that is the 5% (approximately) that they save by not accepting credit cards (VISA and those all charge a percentage of every transaction, which stores pass on to us). Factor that in and this place probably isn't any better than Basha's or Fry's, and not as good as Costco. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad store. But I wouldn't make a special trip here unless they had some great sale or coupon (which they did for their grand opening). They are more hype than anything really special. And, just to emphasize, they DON'T take credit cards. Be aware of this, because they don't have it posted anywhere except at the registers. By then you've already finished your shopping. If it weren't for this I'd probably have granted three stars. read more

This store is my go-to place for bulk items. Popcorn, flour, cornmeal, rice, and more! We only eat spelt flour and have found that they stock high quality Bob's Red Mill for a cheaper price than anywhere else, online or in any store we've searched. They have a service where you can order your bulk items ahead if you want a big 'ole bag and then just come to the store later to pick it up in the back. You have to bag your own groceries, but I enjoy doing that anyway. Huge downside: no credit cards!! The first time I came I had a full cart and luckily had a debit card on me. But hey, anything to keep the prices low, right? read more

If a person is not used to this type of supermarket setup I can see why they probably wouldn't like it. Winco doesn't go overboard with fancy decorations or props or anything else. They keep it simple. Yes you bag your own groceries, big deal. Everything in the store is clean, fresh and reasonable prices. They are able to keep the prices down because they do not accept credit cards, but do accept debit cards. Comparing them to Walmart is a joke. They blow Walmart out of the water on prices, and service. If Sam Walton were still alive I assure you his company wouldn't be ran the way it is today. It would still be run like a Costco... The moment he passed they began their downward spiral. This is very comparable to an Aldi style supermarket. If you want to save real money, don't mind bagging your own groceries (sorry lazy, spoiled people) want fresh items, at a great price, don't mind paying cash or using a debit card, then this is the place. Shopped here for the first time late the other night. The employees were yelling, and I thought it was great they get to have fun at work. It was clean and everything was neatly organized. I love the prices! I bought way too much stuff because the prices are so good. I will move to Arizona just to shop here. We always have a great experience at Winco. We're on Budget and WinCo has our back... except for this past week *sad face* all our food is usually great. The fruits are nice and ripe. The bread is fresh. Except this past week. We bought a loaf of bread and as we got to the last maybe 8 Pieces we spotted blue plastic things. At first we though it was mold. When I removed it to really see what it was, it was plastic. The second to the last bread had a whole plastic thing sticking out. We will continue shopping here but we would like the store/ bakery to be more careful. We have a 3 year old and it would have sucked if she had gotten the plastic. Saving on groceries for a large family is a job in itself. It's always about making sure the prices are good and the food, both tasty and nutritious. Before Winco, the grocery shopping consisted of Sprouts or the produce stand, Safeway, Fry's, and maybe Bashas. Now, it's all one stop and the grocery bill is lower than I ever expected. Instead of $60 here, $25 there, etc., I will spend $60 all in one place and be done with my grocery shopping for the week. Highly recommended. read more

What's not to love about a free co-op style shopping experience? I love shopping here. The prices are great, the aisles are streamlined and they have a huge deli! The option to buy in bulk shouldn't belong to the financially blessed elite, the common man should be allowed to rustle in the spoils as well! That is what WinCo is doing. Standing up for the middle man who can't afford a costco or Sam's club membership and who hates Walmart long lines! This company allows for a bulk-style shopping bonanza at half the price of their competitors. Good for you WinCo! Cash or debit only. No credit cards allowed. Your MasterCard can't help you here. I recommend stopping by customer service and grabbing a complementary weekly ad before diving into the wonder that is grocery shopping, because there are usually really awesome coupons. Awesome place. The prices are pretty good, and the bulk food section is great. Lots of raw ingredients, spices, candy and stuff. Good variety of coffee too. I went here with some of their Grand Opening coupons, got a bag of Doritos for a dollar and some other cool stuff. They don't accept credit cards, and you bag your own groceries, but I use debit anyway and don't mind bagging, so that didn't bother me. They're open 24 hours too. :) read more

Winco is Foodco but in Arizona. I've been to Foodco in California and was instantly reminded of why I only went a couple times. The first issue is there are only a couple stores, and of course I live at least 25 miles from any of them...so we took a chance and drove to do our bi-weekly shopping to save a few dollars...not worth it to me! Second issue is you have to get past some of the people that shop there...I was constantly feeling grossed out by the hickies on the girls necks...yuck! Also the selection is not so great and the prices weren't that incredible...a few things were cheaper by a few cents but other than that nothing to write home about. Yes you do have to bag your own groceries, a little annoying but not a deal breaker. Overall I wouldn't waste gas again to shop there again. read more
