It's really hard for me not to be biased. The frozen drinks here are some of my absolute favorite in the city. This place makes me feel like a drunk. It can be 10 AM and I'm getting that boozy coffee. Try to get here early because it will fill up. Parking is a little bit of a mother so I highly suggest that you try to park on the side street if you can't find a spot in the lot. You can totally make a day of it by parking near 04 lounge and then walking here. Tons of room to sit outside. You even have indoor seating if you're feeling like that. But this is a better place to sit outside. People love to bring their dogs here. Lots of friendly faces. You have so many options for food. The Mexican food truck is my go to. I'm struggling with the name, but it's absolutely amazing. I get the Chilaquiles. Sometimes I get the enchilada plate both are really good. This is one of my go to spots in the neighborhood. I've been a Cosmic Pickle customer since not long after it opened. I made my last visit this morning, however, because I am so disappointed at how I was treated by staff. My husband, our well-behaved dog on a leash and I walked from our home and arrived 8 minutes before the opening time of 8:00. When I asked several staff members that were outside in the seating area if it would be possible to let us in the gated enclosure so we could at least have a seat outside and wait for the opening (otherwise there is just a large busy parking lot with heavy traffic - no seating) we were scolded by one of the staff and told "You'll only have to wait *7* minutes - but you can't wait in here." Can you explain to me why, with literally HUNDREDS of seats outside the coffee shop that are separate from their vending area why it would have been a problem for us to sit at a table outside and wait? Shame on you, Cosmic. I've been recommending both Cosmic locations to lots of people for many years and after this treatment, I'm done. Your attitude sucks. read more

I visited Cosmic Coffee & Beer Garden for the first time this past weekend with a group of friends and had a good experience overall! I loved that they offered both coffee and cocktails so we could all get what we wanted... and I could slowly transition from coffee to cocktails (rough morning from the night before). The beer garden area is very laid back and dogs seem to be at every table you look at which made it more fun! I love a good dog friendly place and would definitely have brought mine had he been with me in Austin. In the outside area, there are three food trucks which offer a variety of cuisines as well! (wings, BBQ, Mexican). I went with Pueblo Viejo Mexican and was very pleased with it - paired well with the drinks! From Cosmic, I ordered an iced coffee, the nitro espresso cocktail and then later transitioned to a bloody Mary. The iced coffee was basic but just what I needed... enough said. The nitro espresso cocktail was not as sweet as I was expecting it to be and wouldn't be something I ordered again. Lastly, the bloody mary was too spicy for me but my friend's loved it. I would note that I was asked if I wanted to open a tab and I said no. When I went back in the second time, I was told I already had a tab open. While not a big deal... it was a bit annoying. I've come here a few times and it was always a good time. Like many places in Austin, this is essentially a large outdoor place with food trucks, lots of seating, good brew and coffee. I see many different types of crowd gathering here - families, groups of friends, pet people with their fur babies, and the regular coffee shop folks with their laptops either studying or working. On my way home, I had to stop by! I ordered the cosmic comet. Their cold brewed coffee. I recommend it with light ice or no ice. You don't need sugar or anything! It was delicious. Mexican vanilla, orange honey & oat milk. Combination was amazing, and I could drink a 32 Oz if I could. Unfortunately, it only comes in 16 Oz. Will be back one day soon! It's a super fun spot, I wish I could come back in the summer and see it in its prime because the beer garden--complete with chickens!--is very homey. My husband got the liquid sunshine, packed with electrolytes and coffee (we couldn't believe that part) and it was delicious but too much ice. As for me I got The Dawn Patrol, another coffee drink packed with goodies from mushrooms to other adaptogenic herbs. It was good, but not for everyone, you must like earthy! Stopped by Cosmic on a sunny Saturday afternoon for a quick pick me up before getting ready to go out. It was the best of both worlds - coffee and tequila combined into a sensational frozen Boozy Coffee that tastes just like a Wendy's frosty. The cups they serve this drink in are adorable. I've been to the other Cosmic location and had the same drink, and I will say the Boozy Coffee seemed way more stiff at this location. The vibes, the music, and the employees were all great. One of my favorite places here in Austin because it has a little bit of everything for everybody! They are opened early and closes late. There is food, wifi, coffee, drinks, bathrooms, open spaces, parking, I mean - it really has it all. Funny enough, I recommended somebody to come here and they asked me if it was Cosmic Pickle. I said no, but come to find out, they call it Cosmic Pickle on Google, but it is located on Pickle Street - so one in the same. If you come to Austin and can't decide on where to go, Cosmic will give you a little bit of everything that Austin has to offer. Extensive menu for everything which you can order up at the bar (they are a few lines) or you can grab a seat and order online and then pick it up and skip the line. The indoors is pretty small, but there are a few tables with some decent wifi (bathrooms are off to the right side). The deck fits a few tables and there is a vast outside space that is also pet friendly. Try not to sit by the mini waterfall or the water stream especially during the summer months or you might walk off with a few new mosquito bites! Few great shady spots and always room for individuals, couples, or groups! Food trunks are usually available, so food and drinks. If you had the opportunity to come here before Leroy and Lewis moved to their brick and mortar, you have lived a good life! One of the main reasons to come hang out at Cosmic was for their bbq, but it still remains one of the best places to hang out. Super chill. They decorate for the reason like Fall/Halloween always with pumpkins and haystacks. The staff are pretty friendly here and you buss your own tables with trash cans and recycling everywhere. The parking lot does get full since it shares a lot with the gym, but keep driving back and you can always park on the street (no meters). This hits every time. read more

This coffee bar is so cool! Coffee AND alcoholic drinks available early in the morning. Since it was early and I had lots to do, I skipped the adult beverages and opted for a lavender matcha latte, which tasted and smelled amazing. Cosmic is dog friendly with plenty of outdoor seating and some indoor. I also enjoyed watching their fluffy chickens go about their day in the chicken coup. *COVID Update* There's no one wearing masks here as of August 2021. The guy at the entrance gives wristbands for 21+ wanting to drink. Kids must be supervised and no outside eats allowed inside. There's plenty of outdoor seating with shade and mist. There are maybe a few tables inside Cosmic, but it gets loud inside. There is a large parking lot, but it's usually full. Cosmic shares the parking lot with the climbing gym next door. There might be a few street spots. There is free WiFi! This place is great. I loved it so much I came back two days in a row. I love the ambiance, the music, drinks, and food, especially the BBQ at Leroy & Lewis! I love that they offer coffee, beer, or both! It really makes the decision tough. I opted for a coffee one day, and I came back the next day to order the same thing! It was that good, and I loved it that much! They also serve wines and cocktails at the bar. They have a water station inside. I like that they differentiate the waste bins - compost, recycle, and landfill. There's some dog treats for your furry friends as well. I only tried food from the two trucks: Pueblo Viejo (tacos) and Leroy & Lewis (bbq). I had the breakfast tacos at Pueblo, but they were underwhelming. The BBQ at Leroy was outstanding. I'd come back to get BBQ and beer here. The other truck had wings, but I didn't get to try any. This is a fun place to hang out with people. I feel a little bad to make this review when it's mostly about shop culture rather than the coffee, but I had an awful experience the other day due to a lot of people bringing their untrained dogs. One massive dog ran towards my friend and I to chase a nuts falling from trees and the owner did nothing about it. Two different men let their dogs go at it snarling and barking at each other while the men just stood there, barely holding their dogs back by their leashes, then passed each other again later a second time while a terrified little girl froze in fear- neither of them caring about other people's safety. It's gotten very bro cluby with untrained dogs and big trucks with flags on them pointlessly revving their engine. Not the cute hipster shop it used to be. Unruly behavior that seems to be the culture since no management stepped in. Not exactly a third place I feel welcome at, but not surprised considering the times. Upon googling, word on the street is they cut health insurance for their employees last minute and that they will be jobless while Cosmic gets their renovations done.
