I was looking around at different options near cottonwood for dinner on a Saturday evening and was surprised to find a place specializing in a food I had never heard of before. We went over around 7 and had no wait time. We enjoyed our experience enough that we ended up coming back for lunch the next day! My best description of a pasty would be a cross between an empanada and an Australian meat pie. We tried a variety of them in our 2 visits, my favorites were the rosemary steak and the pilgrim. The pilgrim was especially good with the cranberry sauce smothered onto it. Overall I can't recommend this enough. Luckily it's a chain around Arizona so you don't have to venture out to Jerome to try it, but I really wish this were a more accessible option around the country read more

This out of the way spot offers some nice variety to the typical Jerome menus. The pasties were good though on the smallish side. We also had Greek salads which were well done. Despite the restaurant being empty, service was slow and the dining area was kind of dirty. Seating was not comfortable so I probably would not go back. This Cornish Pasty location was very cool as it was near the top of Jerome and had a vibe completely in alignment with the weirdness of the town. I wanted to go with Chicken Tikka but they were sold out, however the Greek Chicken turned out to be very good as well. My kids shared an Italian Meatball at it tasted great too. If you go, try other offerings such as the daily soup choices and the chips are also a must. Prices are reasonable for the size of the portions and service is pretty good, but it does get busy at times. They do have outdoor seating with some awesome views too. I couldn't be happier with the service, vibe, value, and delicious food at the Jerome, Az location. Ayla took good care of us and she was very attentive. We tried the Greek, Italian, Tikka masala, and Chicken pot pie pasties which were all delicious and had yummy dips to go with them. Throw in the local craft beer on tap, and you have a perfect experience here. There is indoor or outdoor seating available, and the interior offers a really cool, old Jerome mining town vibe with vintage decor, and photos of mine workers from that day. Really cute location! My server was really nice, and the atmosphere was super cozy and smelled amazing.

We walked all over town, then we climbed a few flights of steps to try some real Cornish pasties. The sticker on the door was the first turn-off. We were welcomed with a wave to take whatever seat we wanted. There wasn't a big crowd at the time, but the tables were so tight, we didn't feel comfortable. We went to the bar, which was also the kitchen, I guess, and the welcomer asked us if we just wanted to order to go. We said we'd feel more comfortable at the bar, but the look she gave us wasn't very welcoming. The door behind us kept slamming as an employee went in and out. Still, we were willing to try until we got a load of the beverage list. For my honey they had Rasputin or Guinness, one we already have at home, the other he considers worse than swill. So, we gave up, which is sad, because the pasties smelled really good, and they had several interesting vegetarian/vegan options. This place must be fairly new to not have many reviews. Loved everything about this place. The inside was super adorable, the patio was so refreshing on a beautiful night, the waitress was so amazing (wish I got her name, but the goth girl). The food - delicious! I had the Reuben and my husband had the Chicken Tikka Masala. He said it was delicious, and it smelled amazing! My Reuben was just what my taste buds needed. Super tender, just the right amount of filling to keep it from falling apart like a sandwich would. Our chips were burnt, but we were so full from the pasties, that we just ate what wasn't as burnt. This is my fourth time visiting and the worst visit. Each time I visit I ask for the Cream of Leek, Potato & Stilton. They are always out. So I tried the Mushroom, Walnut & Spinach. The soup was super thick and rich and missing the spinach. It was too rich for my taste and only ate a few bites. I also ordered a side of Broccoli & Cauliflower Cheese Bake. The cauliflower was missing and the middle of the dish was cold. Lastly, I had the curry potatoes. Curry smelled great and it was tasty but super salty. The sauce was delish. Day trip to Jerome while visiting Sedona for the week. Wanted something different and was not disappointed. Went during afternoon. Was only one other table with people so was not very busy for a Friday. Service was good, greeted with a smile and attentively answered our questions. Ambiance was good and decorated with local lore as its associated with the mining industry. Food was an amazing. The selection was just right with lots of different flavors to suit one's palate. Understand that these are hand made then baked so it takes a little longer than normal but well worth the wait. The pastry was well baked golden brown and buttery flavored. The fillings were each unique and so flavorful. Each pastry came with associated dipping sauce. Wide selection of drinks including cocktails, wine and beer. I love Cornish Pasty and it is so cool that there is now a Jerome location. The quality of the Pasty's here are just as good as the ones in the valley. I love the vegan cottage pie and vegan guiness stew best. I am not vegan, but I do follow a pescatarian diet. The only drawback here is the atmosphere at the location downtown is better, however the one in Jerome is not bad by any means. We've loved the Cornish Pasty's other locations. We visit Jerome often and were excited to see they opened one there. It's tucked up at the top of the mntn in a quintessential small village vibe environment. Food is the same as other locations, but customer service is subpar. We've gone 4 times over the last 3 months and every time- there's nobody to greet you. The servers are either sitting down or at the bar eating themselves and then casually indicate "sit where you want." We weren't even sure they were employees until we saw them behind the counter. We've had the same gentlemen the last few times wait on us- and he's nice, but very slow in service. This matters because they usually only have 1-2 other tables when we've been there so hardly a reason to be as slow. The inside is dismal and dark, waitstaff seem nonchalant and bored, and I assume they will rely on the food being good for repeat clientele- which is why we've returned so far, but decided it wasn't worth it after this past visit. Hopefully the owner can rally and boost excitement and proper representation with new staff and/or customer service training so that people feel welcome, waited on kindly and efficiently and leave feeling great. read more

Our first night in Jerome, Arizona. We arrived around 4 pm local time. Obviously, many people were arriving for Memorial Day weekend. It seemed everywhere we walked eating establishments were full with a 45-minute wait time. We continued to explore and found nestled back off the street the Cornish Pasty! Walking into the restaurant was like walking back in time to late 1800s early 1900s. Decor was spot on. The music was perfect, and volume could still have a conversation at the table without shouting! We had fries covered in bacon for an appetizer with drought Guinness! Waitress was ever ready with refills while we waited our main courses! My husband went with the Oggie that the waitress recommended. I had the Cubano! We did our absolute best to leave no crumbs or dipping sauces! The photos we saw scattered about on walls appeared to be enlargements of actual photos! Miners, children working along with grown men and their lunch pails some pulling out a pasty before going back down the shaft! So now we are fans and must find a similar menu when we get home! Truly delightful! We came here looking for non-run-of-the-mill food. Our server Doug hustled and was a valuable source of local information. We started by sharing a scotch egg, because it was on my bucket list. Superb-- we would do it again anytime! I ordered the meat and cheese (pork and sausage) pasty to stay more or less traditional, while my wife went off the reservation with the Italian sub pasty. They both arrived expertly done, with a perfectly golden egg-wash crust, and appropriate sauces. The Italian was uneatably hot, but such a problem ultimately solves itself. The service was frequent and appreciated. Parking is practically nonexistent (a chronic Jerome issue), but you can park in a pay lot on the main street below and take a stone staircase up to the restaurant level.
