The menu is pretty basic with most options being pretty similar and things you can make yourself at home. Our server Jen brought us water, took our order, and disappeared. I got a croissant sandwich that definitely needed a sauce (thankfully I asked to add sriracha aioli) that came out smashed. My boyfriend got the Eggs Benedict that was flavorless, home fries burnt and black. He had half of his and decided he was done. Jen never came by to check on us and only asked how everything was once we were noticeably done with my card on the table. We always stop here to eat when in Cottonwood. We love the vegan burrito- Filled with sweet potatoes, black beans, avocado, green chilies and topped with enchilada sauce. Red rooster is a fun little breakfast and lunch spot right in the heart of old town, Cottonwood. We chose to sit out on the patio, which is quite dog friendly. There were many pups out as the weather was perfect this day. They do provide water bowls for doggies and we enjoyed watching all the pups interact. The patio was shaded which was nice. The food was tasty. I had a fig and ciabatta chicken sandwich lunch special. We also tried the eggs Benedict, which was my favorite. Service was a bit slow but everyone was very nice. Parking in down town can get a bit busy on the weekends but after lunch you can walk around and check out Main Street. read more

The best Chai Tea I have ever had, and I've had a lot of Chai over the years. We had the two egg breakfast and it was cooked perfectly. My family visited this restaurant for breakfast Saturday morning and were greeted by a very joyful Odi. It was such a breath of fresh air after our unfavorable greeting at crema cafe a few doors down. At crema we were greeted with such a rude and grumpy gal when we entered we decided to take our money elsewhere. Boy were we happy we found red rooster! Odi totally turned our breakfast experience around. After sitting we placed our order and took in the atmosphere. The food is amazing. Can confirm the breakfast Ruben is now my favorite version of an eggs Benedict. Fun coffee drinks we have gotten that are amazing: caramel latte with blueberry, and an iced blueberry chai latte. I also have never had blueberry in my coffee until here. Don't knock it til you've tried it.. (it's like a sweet blueberry coffee cake) Our servers Santana and Sierra gave us the best service, even when it was short staffed. My husband opted to try the breakfast Rueben with an Americano coffee and I opted for the traditional eggs Benedict with upgraded hashbrowns to the cheesy ones. (Definitely worth it.) Both meals were delicious. I would have to say that I liked my hubby's just a little more. I love a good Rueben but add eggs and hollandaise sauce and I am sold. The waitstaff were not that attentive (they forgot about us) and the food was fine, but the patio was nice with live music and misters and we enjoyed having some drinks (pineapple mimosa and spicy Bloody Mary). We stumbled in here thinking it was another coffee shop we thought we'd tried already... We were hungry, so figured we'd try it on a whim. It was really REALLY busy. Of course, it was a weekend, so what do you expect? (We actually went into town to visit another shop and meet the artist... but, well, food is always first!) Pretty sure the host who seated the people in front of us had to take them clear to the back of the "additional seating" in the back of the cafe... and probably stopped on his way back to grab a bite himself - not that I could blame him... the food was soooo good! It didn't bother us too much as we took time to enjoy the nuances in the decor around and people watch. :) We didn't expect the food to come very fast due to them being so busy, and yeah, it did take a hot minute to come out, but like I said we weren't surprised and we weren't in a hurry. When the waiter brought our food out he not only apologized for the wait (though it didn't seem bad) and gave us a discount on our bill without us even asking. Needless to say, he got tipped on what the full amount would have been. Kudos to the team that trains staff to treat customers well!! :) My omelet was so deliciously amazing. Melt-in-your-mouth cheese and just so so perfect. Hubs loved his food as well - said the cheesy potatoes were amazing. And the latte... well I carry my own syrup since most coffee places have sucrolose for their sugar-free stuff... and they had no issues making me a custom cup.
