Old Town Cafe

We stopped for a quick breakfast and absolutely fell in love with this family owned cafe. We learned through talking with one of the wait staff (who was charming) that his mom and dad are the owners. His mother worked there for 26 years and then bought the restaurant 8 years ago. Turns out this young man is their son. Great example of true entrepreneur spirit and the generational impact. Oh...then the food came. My wife and I split a breakfast burrito and a slice of homemade banana nut bread. It was delicious. Highly recommend to all visiting the Cottonwood/Sedona area.

We stopped in for breakfast before our Verde Train ride and I'm glad we did. The entire staff was kind. The food was great! I recommend the breakfast burrito, croissants and the biscuits and gravy was great and so cheap! Stop by and support a local business!

We were on our way to Sedona and we wanted to grab something easy and filling for the ride. The ambiance was pretty straight forward and clean for a little cafe and the service was nice and attentive. I ordered the strawberry salad as a wrap and my partner had a breakfast burrito. My strawberry salad wrap was flavorful. My only complaint was that there was minimal chicken or cheese in there or any of the other toppings as described and predominantly lettuce lol. my partners breakfast burrito was okay. I felt like it has way too much egg and not enough of the other ingredients. I was glad to stop by and support a local spot but I don't believe that I would return.

Latte made with the sugar-free syrup I brought

First off, this place was swamped! So so so busy. Yeah, it was a weekend, but it was so crowded in there we debated about going in. Then we figured, it must be crowded for a reason... maybe it's THAT good. We weren't disappointed! With my limitations I asked them to make my latte with my own syrup - which they had no problem with. They even added a yummy sprinkle of cinnamon to the top. Mmmmmm... The guy who made it was a hoot - hilarious! They were so personable. We actually tried to go here again but ended up at a different coffee shop in town due to not remembering the name of this place... until we left the other one. ‍‍ It will definitely be a stop again next time we're in Cottonwood!

We ate here every morning as we stayed at the Tavern Inn in Cottonwood, AZ in April 2022. They have vouchers for discounts breakfast or complimentary black coffee and a baked good. We tried a few things and these were our favorites: Breakfast Burrito Enchilada style- ask for extra sauce as it can be a little dry if no meat. This was tasty and super filling. Bread pudding French toast or banana bread French toast (can't recall and didn't take a pic of menu) - either way it was evil and decadent! Get this if you have a sweet tooth! It was crispy and flavorful. Soo good! Crave worthy. Overall, we would be back! They also have awesome huge cookies.

First time at Old Town Cafe in Cottonwood. Quaint and cozy locally owned establishment located in Old Town Cottonwood. Fresh baked goods, sandwiches, salads and burritos. Opted for the breakfast burrito and coffee outside for sidewalk dining. Burrito included sausage, bacon, bell pepper, onion and cheese.served with an orange slice and salsa. Food was fresh, the salsa perked up the flavors in the burrito. Server came outside to pick up dishes and we got our coffee refill. Put this one on your list.

Popped in for a coffee after trying to catch the sunrise. Spent $11 on a vanilla latte and two toasted croissants. The croissants were fluffy, flaky and delicious. Easily one of the best croissants I've ever had!

I must talk about the server, Laura. I didn't want to say how many years I waited tables before the nursing gig. It's more than enough to know a good server from an absolutely AMAZING server. This is no joke, it was like she read my mind. My glass wasn't even empty, she was there. I can not convey to the people out there enough, don't miss out on this one. It has three different sections to sit in. All putting out their own vibe. If you decide to go, ask for Laura, tell her I said hello. We stopped in on the drive from Sedona back to Phoenix around 6:00 PM on a Sunday. Service was prompt and attentive although the food perhaps could have come out sooner as there were not a lot of patrons. In any case, everything was tasty. We had the turkey club and pulled pork sandwiches, both with homemade potato chips. The chips were a overcooked (burned), but both sandwiches were very good and decent portion sizes.

Traveling back to Arizona, we knew we had to return, and once again, it exceeded every expectation. The filet mignon is simply out of this world--served sizzling in a cast iron skillet with clarified butter, it's incredibly flavorful, perfectly cooked, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. It's the kind of dish you think about long after the meal is over. What really sets this place apart, though, is the people. The staff consistently go above and beyond, creating an experience that feels both elevated and welcoming. And Michael, the manager, is exceptional--so accommodating, attentive, and genuinely invested in making every guest feel taken care of. It's rare to find a restaurant that delivers this level of quality and consistency twice, let alone make you want to keep coming back. Without a doubt, one of the greatest dining experiences in the USA. We'll absolutely be back again.

As mentioned, the staff, including our waitress, were very friendly. We sat in a covered outdoor area, which had a nice, airy vibe with umbrellas, plants and colors. Overall, the food was pretty good. The chilaquiles were on point. The only thing I would change would be adding a bit more hollandaise sauce to the classic country ham Benedict. You could taste the freshness of the ham, but as a Benedict, it needed more hollandaise. Was I disappointed? Not at all. I would still recommend this place to anyone visiting Cottonwood.
