Stopped on our way from Flagstaff to Phoenix as this bakery received such wonderful reviews. The blueberry scone was amazing! Although it could have easily fed 4, my husband and I devoured it on our drive down I17! We also bought a loaf of Artisan Sourdough bread. Can't wait to try it! read more

Disclaimer: rarely give 5 stars This place is BY FAR one of my favorite spots in Camp Verde. The sourdough bread is enough to come in for...and then there are the sandwiches and salads and sweets. There are many varieties of bread, I personally opt for the Artisan. It's sliced which I love, and even homemade it has strong shelf life! The only sandwich I get when I come here is the Chicken Basil Focaccia. It's two meals for me as it is massive. Lots of sliced chicken, lovely fresh basil and an amazing aeoli. Served with either chips or a side salad. The focaccia is out of the world...light and airy and full of flavor! To be honest I've never ordered the pastries or cinnamon rolls but they look absolutely amazing and people rave about them! Hours are funky so check before coming out...I've been disappointed before, lol. Interior seating available and to-go options offered as well. "I might have just experienced breakfast sandwich perfection. I ordered the 'Good Morning' on sourdough (bacon, scrambled eggs, cheddar, Dijon, tomato, and spinach), and it was both massive and delicious. The flavor balance was spot on, and the and the sourdough was a total game-changer. Total happy accident finding this place! After missing the breakfast cutoff at Udderly across the street, we gave this spot a try shortly before they closed. We also ordered the cinnamon roll with browned butter icing, which was a total standout. It was huge and so good that we'd polished it off before our sandwiches even hit the table. It's a miracle we didn't order a second one! Even though they were out of a few items since it was late in the day, it didn't matter. My husband and I visited the Sedona area recently. We went to the Farmers Market. There I found the best sourdough bread. I bought 2 loaves to take home with me. I wish I had purchased more because it's really good. I did call Wingfield Bread 3 days ago and left a message to see if they do mail orders. I have yet to hear back from them. This little gem of a place is located in an inside type of mall. I had to use the restroom so got the key from them and to be polite decided to order something. Oh my gosh. I am so glad I did. Ordered the ginger cookie and a fruit pastry. Wow! Absolutely the best ginger cookie I have EVER had and the fruit pastry was so fresh and delicious. Only 5 tables plus three bar stools so it could get crowded when busy - consider getting things to go if you're coming prime time. Park in the lot just before it if you're coming south on Main Street. Greeted immediately. Helpful service. Got a Reuben w/ salad for lunch plus a cinnamon roll, chocolate croissant and berry croissant to go. Cold case of bottles with sodas, water and iced tea. Pleasantly surprised at the side salad, mixed greens, spinach, carrots, tomatoes and cucumber slice. Rueben was standard but with their wonderful rye bread. Berry croissant was day old so was discounted. Overall a great little stop for bakery goodness and a sandwich on house made bread. My wife and I spent an afternoon at Clear Creek and decided to stop in Old Town for a bite to eat. We were looking for a dog friendly spot for our 2 Yorkies. We we're going to order to go. When I mentioned my wife was in the car with our dogs the owner asked what kind they were. Since they're lap dogs she invited me to bring them in. That made our visit all the more enjoyable since we were able to sit down and eat with our Yorkies. I ordered a Rueban sandwich which turned out to be top notch. The fresh baked bread made the sandwich. We ordered some baked goods to go-cinnamon roll, blueberry scones and a danish all of which were excellent. I'm not happy when I cannot give 4 or 5 stars to local merchants, but I consider truth to be paramount. There is a very apt nearby comparison: Wildflower Bread, in Sedona. And Wingfield falls short in every way that I can think of. I went to Wingfield for the first time to have breakfast this morning. Had a vegetarian breakfast sandwich. Sandwich tasted very good. But it was petite and had absolutely no sides, either with it or as an add-on. So it does not make an adequate breakfast. Unless you are on a diet or are a very petite lady. And the only other things you could buy were all sugary No lattes. Yes they have ordinary coffee, and it is ordinary. You would think that a place with "Bread" in the name would do bread right. But you would be wrong. They looked at me like I was a Martian when I asked for an unsliced loaf. Now of course Wonderbread comes pre-sliced. But this is not Wonderbread! A lot of us really like to chomp on a thick heel. Quite in general, pre-sliced bread is a bad idea for two reasons: (1) it keeps fresh less long; and (2) some like it thin, while some like it thick. You would think that a place which has "Bread" in its name would know that ... well, you'd be wrong, unfortunately. And finally, the staff. The folks at Wildflower are almost cut of the same cloth as those at Trader Joe's: trained to put customer service first-and-foremost. The folks I encountered at Wingfield were, well...ordinary. They were doing their thing, and if they got around to the customer, then fine. Finally, there is truth in advertising (or rather lack thereof). The label on the loaf says "Whole". But the opposite is true. It is only sold to you all sliced up. It's easy and simple for me to get to the Sedona Wildflower Bread. But I do feel for the folks in Camp Verde who would like to eat locally. I truly wish your merchants would take better care of you. And I am amazed at all the 5-star reviews. If this is really what passes for 5-star in Camp Verde, I would say the field is wide-open for someone to do a really good job. read more

Omg!! May I say I drove 40 mins for this deliciousness. The Ginger Cookies caught my eye at our local farmers market. Since all of the Covid19 scare our town stopped the market all together. I had to venture out for these scrumptious cookies. While I was at the bakery I decided to have a sandwich and salad. Sorry It was so good I didn't take a pic but believe me. It was so amazing. We went for lunch but they were already out of rolls and most desserts (bakery items) I had the bbq sandwich and the meat was so fatty and tough. The service was very slow we waited b hind 3-4 people and it took 20 plus minutes to order. It was my husband's choice and I wasn't too excited about it. That is, until we got home and I tasted it. Right out of the bag with no butter it was amazing! My Reuben was in a word fabulous. I wasn't prepared for just how good it was. I was expecting the usual, which would have been fine. But instead it was an adventure in freshness and flavors.
