So yummy
Monica M.

Been coming here for years. The staff definitely treat you like family and also the food is always so good. The restaurant is always so clean. I love the fact they grind there own coffee beans on site so it's always super fresh and taste great. I got the biscuits and gravy combo and a coffee it all was so good and the size of the food they give you is great as well. We will continue to keep coming here an telling people we know about it as well.

The early bird special is the main reason to go!

Placed an order for pick up and the customer service wasn't warm on the phone. And when picking up the food it was busy but again customer service didn't feel very warm or welcoming. The food was ok for its price. I would go again just because it was so cheap.

My cousin visits this restaurant at least three times a month. The staff and owner know him very well. He treated me to breakfast and I ordered the posole. It was delicious. The owner came out and introduced himself and asked how was our food. The staff is so friendly, and you could tell they have regulars. I highly recommend coming here. The food is delicious and the prices right

Amazing food, amazing service. Highly recommend. Small and cramped breakfast place but amazing.

Did they not flip the pancake long enough?
M Dash F.

It's like..: you ever been on vacation at a MOTEL that serves complimentary breakfast. That's this place. Ordering to go is such a risk. Eggs..ZERO Seasoning. Taste like rubber. I can't make this up. The waffle?, not a crunch to it whatsoever. The boiled sausage link is probably the safest choice. Shame on me for skipping dinner and waking up starving. This is jail house breakfast. The pancake taste like pancake batter cause they flip it for 2 seconds then put it in the to go box ‍

Update: they keep getting better and better. Fan-freaking-tastic!!! Best early bird breakfast there is. Extremely friendly staff, and my order is always correct! Really love this place, it's like a family.

Chilaquiles - Special of the day
Pinar K.

Very happy that I gave a chance to try the chilaquiles! Layers were really tasty, from smoky beans on the bottom to the eggs on the top! Definitely recommended when it is on the specials board! My boyfriend got corn beef hash with scrambled eggs which was also a good choice considering he cleaned the plate! Service was really fast and we appreciated all the people we interacted with. Cafés ambiance is an open space and they display art on the walls.

Does it have a back room or a separate an area that a group of guys could use for an early morning men's breakfast?

Tucked away in the corner of a shopping center lies this gem of a cafe!…read more I met up with a friend for brunch and brought our babies along. There was lots of parking right in front of the restaurant that made getting inside super convenient. There was plenty of room for us to sit at a large table with our babies in high chairs & strollers nearby. Inside the cafe is decorated very nicely. The staff were so kind and welcoming too. I ordered a mocha and the sweet cheese crepes. My mocha was the perfect balance of sweetness and chocolatey! I savored every sip. The real star of the show though, were the crepes. They were perfectly soft but with a slight crisp on the outside just like I like them. The filling was sweet but not overly and was well balanced with the slight bitterness from the berry topping on the crepes. Overall the ambiance, food, and accessibility make this a great spot for brunch! Will definitely be coming back.

This place has vibes for days! The decor leans heavily into the green plant aesthetic. The outdoor…read moreeating area is very inviting with market lighting and plentiful plant life. There is also a side area to eat, however there were a number of flies buzzing around, which made it unappetizing (this was kept my review from being a full five stars). The indoor area is a mix of dark woods and faux plants, which creates a relaxed atmosphere. As for the food, there was only one plant-based (vegan friendly) option for me: the cilantro lime avocado toast. This came topped with micro greens and pickled onions, and with a side of potatoes. The portions were very generous for the price and the food was delicious. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the staff were kind. I also ordered an Americano that was good. This spot is like a little hidden green jewel in Citrus Heights. I hope more businesses fill out this complex so they can continue to do well.

During that time, they served me a glass of water and I quickly ordered the BBQ Chicken sandwich - I had looked at the menu earlier - with a side of fruit. The sandwich was really great! They served the sandwich with the grilled, chicken breast, bacon, and BBQ sauce with the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on the side. I'm not a fan of onions, so I did not have those, but it was nice to have the lettuce and the tomatoes have that nice taste when it hasn't been smothered in BBQ sauce or others as it's being cooked by the chicken like other places prepare them. I honestly left satisfied. This place really did live up to the recommendations and reputation it has. Our gym, Positive Impact Fitness always talks about this place and it was really worth it. I shall return in due time.

Biscuit particularly not good as it was doughy, wet , chewy and tasted of too much baking powder. I did like the big chunks of meat. The country potatoes were typical diner quality, but I just don't like country style breakfast potatoes. No substitution offered. Server was efficient if a bit rough around the edges. I sat at the counter. She made sure that I had everything I needed. That's okay, I'm happy enough, don't need a smile from some one who's bringing me food. Oh, yeah just like my old sourpuss mother. Now the value for the dollar issue... The breakfast was $22, the unremarkable coffee was $4.50. After tax and a $5 tip I was out the door for $33. I recently had a wwwwaaaayyy more satisfying breakfast at Mario's Early Toast for half that price. Hot off the griddle is a big improvement over a Denny's. But that's a pretty low bar for judgement. Sorry, no return for me.

I do have one suggestion. I completely understand and appreciate the elevated vibe they're going for--it's part of what makes the place special. That said, I think there may be a bit of a missed opportunity with the bocce ball courts. There are large signs saying kids can't play on them and must stay with adults, but honestly, I come here at least once a quarter and they're often not being used. Given the location and the number of families in the area, it could be interesting to consider adding a small playground in the back. I know that might sound unconventional for a place like this, but I've seen restaurants do this successfully in Europe. What's really missing around here is a place where parents can enjoy an incredible meal and drinks while their kids have a safe place to play nearby. Right now, the only places that come close are breweries. There are almost always families here when I visit, so just a thought! Either way, Shangri-La remains one of my favorite spots.
