Chicken pesto sandwich with Mixed Green Salad!
David K.

Arriving in Boston last month for my 50th reunion at Boston University, I checked in to the Commonwealth Hotel only to find that Room Service was done for the night. Not to worry, there is always a pub open in Beantown! A 15 minute walk brought me to the Corner Tavern just after midnight; and it was still packed. Unlike many pubs where the kitchen closes early, the Corner Tavern had a full menu available! I was able to enjoy a great sandwich while discussing the Sox chances to make the playoffs (I was there the next night when they clinched!) with the patrons! Service was friendly and efficient and the food hit the spot after a 5.5 hour flight!

This is a cozy friendly local sports bar. The food was better than your typical bar food and the servers are attentive. The food came out quick and the hot food was hot!!! So so yummy. It is loud but we were watching the Men's Basketball Final Four game so the noise level was understandable. Not touristy at all. Will definitely be back!

10/10, fabulous food, excellent service and great neighborhood ambiance!! Highly recommend

Food is very good. Bartenders could not care if you were there or not. So cool they like to ignore you.

Based upon reviews, we had the meatloaf sandwich and Reuben and they so lived up to their hype. A great taste of Boston at the Corner Tavern

I went for my graduation dinner, and they had a hand written card at the table waiting for me to wish me congratulations. To start, we had the focaccia bread to share and clam chowder, so delicious. Best clam chowder I've had, and it had whole clams in it. For mains, we had pasta bolognese, salmon, and the green apple chicken. The chicken was the juiciest I've ever had, the salmon was cooked to perfection, and the pasta was so flavorful. The presentation was great as well. Vanessa was our server, and she was so kind, helpful, and attentive. After seeing another table get the oysters, we asked the restaurant manger, Dan, what they ordered. After explaining it to us, I told him I never had oysters so he gave us the appetizer for free to try! Everyone who worked there was bubbly and warm, genuinely some of the best service I've ever experienced. Everything was a 10/10. Will definitely be coming back!

The food was great, however I didn't love the cocktails. Food: - Roasted Oysters (10/10): so buttery, cheesy, delicious. Favorite item on the menu, if you're going you have to order!! - Clam Chowder (8.5/10) - Chinatown Dumplings (8/10): loved the kewpie mayo - 16oz Ribeye (8.5/10): Tender and flavorful! The mashed potatoes it came with were so good. - Apple crumble (6/10): Would skip this and go for something else. Overall, a great experience and we will be back for the roasted oysters!

Yvonne's feels less like a restaurant and more like stepping into a production. On a Friday night…read moredate night, the place was absolutely buzzing, but somehow built to handle it. The scale of the room is genuinely impressive, leaning heavily into old-world glamour with dark velvet, chandeliers, gold accents, hidden rooms, and cocktails that feel theatrical. It's loud, energetic, and unapologetically designed for celebration nights. That said, the experience was not quite as intimate as I had hoped for. We were seated in the corner of the two-person table section, and I ended up sitting almost at the "head" of the area looking down the row of tables. It felt oddly exposed and very close to everyone around us. Instead of feeling tucked away on date night, it felt more like being inserted into the movement of the restaurant itself. The service reflected some of that energy too. The staff was clearly trying their best in a packed room, but the pace felt a little slow and chaotic at times. The food, however, was consistently excellent. The Duck Prosciutto was one of the most balanced dishes of the night. Every component stood out individually, from the manchego pimento cheese to the quince syrup and smoked almonds, yet somehow everything came together in what felt like a perfect symphony. The Seared King Trumpet Mushrooms were lighter and more restrained, but still hearty and satisfying. The Mediterranean Octopus was outstanding, easily up there with some of the best octopus dishes I've had around Boston. The Borek Spring Rolls were playful and delightful, with a shell so light and crisp that the dish never felt heavy. The Lazy Lobster Dumplings were dangerously good, rich with black truffle butter but balanced enough that I could have eaten endless plates of them. Even the Bavette Steak delivered exactly what it needed to, especially with the anchovy butter adding that deep savory punch I love. Yvonne's absolutely earns its reputation as one of Boston's premier dining scenes. It is expensive, but the atmosphere, execution, and location all make it feel intentional rather than inflated. Still, I left feeling like it shines brightest as a group-night or celebration restaurant rather than a truly intimate date spot. I would absolutely go back, but next time I'd want a table of four instead of two.

"Keep on with the forth, don't stop/don't stop until you get enough~" What mischief could a…read morerestaurant with Michael Jackson's music possibly have? Salty Pig Pizza: A pizza with the same name as the restaurant! Who was the genius who came up with the idea of salted pig and beer caramel? It's brilliant! The salted pork appears to include Prosciutto di Parma from Langirano, Prosciutto Cotto, and Salcissia. Baking rendered the prosciutto's fat, which blends with the caramel to create a beautiful golden syrup that flows across the pizza's surface. The prosciutto was savory, oily, and tender; the minced salcissia retains its coarse texture and rich meaty aroma; the caramel was sweet and mellow with a honey-like sweetness, forming the top, middle, and base notes respectively. The arugula was slightly warmed, losing its astringent and raw taste while maintaining its crisp texture, helped to cut through the richness together with the Parmesan cheese powder. The crust was crispy, while the inside the dough was soft and chewy. The cooking time and seasoning were all just right, and the restaurant's proud wooden oven added a charming smoky flavor. Affogato: I had high expectations, but it was just okay. The espresso was too sour, and the vanilla ice cream couldn't balance it out. The almond biscuits had an overpowering almond flavor, and the flavor of plant-based protein was terrible! (Oh, this should have been a plus...)

Phenomenal & will be back to try again!…read more Parking is rough, if you don't catch something in front of the restaurant you might be searching for a while. Staff & service was friendly! Nothing out of the norm, average, quick, and attentive service. The food was phenomenal! I had the Beef tips & Chicken tips, and for dessert I had the "it's brownie time" ice cream & brownies combo, which I recommend highly. I love that the focus is around serving food in Tip as their highlight. I will say a lot of their food is cooked with alcohol, so slow down and read if that's something you're trying to avoid. Typically when restaurants charge higher in price the food is average in taste, but everything else we ate was a home run. I will be back to try more! For the scenery of the restaurant it was a mix of a Bar and fine dining. I like that, if you're there to watch sports and hangout you can easily do that. If you're there for a nice and simple date they've separated a space to do just that as well. It's been a while since I've been enthusiastic about a restaurant and I have to say the restaurant was a great experience, please try!

We tried 4 different types and every single one tasted super fresh, clean, and just really high quality. You can tell they know what they're doing here, even the way they shuck it is nice and clean, no shell pieces or anything. Their menu actually has like 10+ kinds of oysters, highly selective and premium. I really wish we had more time (and stomach space) to try more. But we already had like 3 dinners planned that night lol so this was more like a "stop by and eat as much oysters as possible" situation. Honestly I'm pretty sure the other food here is just as good, based on what I saw on other tables. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Boston.

And while, sure, the menu said the pricing was 'MP'…read more(meaning Market Price, or...based upon current market conditions)...and while, sure, we didn't ASK what the price would be, on that day, I still think it would have been nice if the waitstaff voluntarily offered up that detail. (I'm certain the staff are aware that many of their diners express shock, once the price is disclosed...) Many folks simply make an assumption or a guesstimate, as to the price, when they see 'MP' on a menu, and this is usually based upon their prior experiences, ordering such a menu item. So, for example, I was thinking the lobster roll might be in the $40-45 range. So imagine my utter shock, when we received the bill, to see a charge for $69?? I have never in my life had such an expensive lobster roll. Yes, it was delicious, and the housemade potato chips were also great. The slaw was also good (though it was a very tiny amount...I would have liked more). But boy, did that price shock me. I would normally never have voluntarily ordered a $69 lobster roll. It simply never would have occurred to me, that a place would ever charge that much....
