I popped into the spot with a couple of friends on Thanksgiving. Since the restaurant is attached to a hotel, it was open for business. We were seated and greeted quickly. Our server was lovely and very friendly. We all ordered drinks and shared the cornbread. The cornbread was excellent, as were the drinks. My friends all ordered burgers, and I ordered the short rib enchiladas. If you're not starving, the enchiladas were a light option. They were delicious, and I really enjoyed the sauce on the side. My friends thoroughly enjoyed their burgers, and we all enjoyed our second round of drinks. I was quite impressed with the prices there for lunch. It was about $200 for 7 drinks, our entrees (which included 3 Wagyu burgers), and the cornbread. I definitely recommend this spot if you are looking for somewhere to pop while downtown. And their patio is excellent - very inviting and cool spot. read more

Very Average food and drink. Quality doesn't match cost for lunch. Not sure what the hype is but only benefit was attached to the JW. Staff was friendly at least. read more

Place was amazing great customer service, as soon as we sat down they got us started with waters and the margaritas are a great choice, but what made it a game changer for me was the crispy chicken sandwich, made me fall in love and have gone for it 3 days in a row!! Totally recommend it for anyone!!! read more

Just had the bartender tell me I was committing a crime for killing a bee. "He is very serious" Then he told me I just needed to deal with all the bees around me because they are an endangered species. I'm thinking to myself I'm at a bar. Not in the Forrest. #whataclown #beeullshit #criminal read more

One of my favorite places while I visited Austin! Loved the outdoor seating. Amazing food! There house corner salad and fish tacos were delicious. Recommend anyway who wants a great bite to eat with great outdoor seating to go here! read more

Great food and drink. Lots of local brews. Great service (we had Nick). Cool vibe. What more do you need? Highly recommended!

Took my family here for breakfast. The host said there's a wait (which is fine during COVID) but said we could sit in the bar area. The bar was wide open, not one table occupied but they would only let us sit at tables for 2 then said you're not allowed to interact with the rest of your party (my kids). We pointed out the tables that seat 4-6 that were 8 feet away and he had to get manager approval. Then dealt with our server and asked if we could watch College Game Day. He said the remote is broken, impossible to change channels. Has to stay on CNN Trump coverage. We said ok. They then changed the channel to college football as we're leaving. Food was a 5 on a scale of 1-10. Bottom line, it has been a really long time since I've been treated so poorly by staff with such poor attitudes. Will definitely never come back and would never recommend unless you want to be treated like garbage. read more

Great bar and food in perfect location in downtown Austin. Daniel is the best server. Very knowledgeable and attentive. Great sense of humor also. Great food and craft bar. Try the short ribs for sure. read more

Great food. I am in love with their Zuchini Cornbread! Digging into their warm bourbon pecan brownie now. With vanilla ice cream on the side, of course. Fab service from Hunter, too. read more

Yummy! I was in Austin for a conference and decided to take a walk and found this place. Super cool vibe and the food was amazing. I had the salmon. The sauce on the veggies was delish and the fish was cooked perfectly. I had one of their specialty cocktail with pineapple secret sauce and vodka. It was yummy- not too sweet. Service was great, too!! Great outdoor seating options; great for people watching. Def worth a try. read more

We did not expect to have the best service during SXSW, but our server Amanda was not only welcoming and knowledgeable, but she took the time to give us tips on where to go to get the best Austin experience. We couldn't have asked for a better experience at Corner, thank you Amanda! Tacos she recommended were soooo good as well! read more

Not my first time. Won't be my last. But if it was, I could die happy. Katie, absolute best server we've ever had (and I took a poll), a credit to the Marriott/Corner team. Without specifying, you feel welcome, you feel warm, you feel safe. The staff make the place, and the staff this night made me feel at home. read more

The bartender was the biggest jerk I have ever met in my life. Talk about rude! We stopped in for dinner after seeing the bats and he was such a jerk because even after seeing on the website that they were open until 2 they would not serve us food. We ordered drinks and chips and guacamole to hold us over and it was like we asked for the biggest inconvenience to the bartender. We asked him where we could go for dinner and he said Everything closes at 10. He could pointed us in the direction of a place to eat but no. I will never come here again. I'm dating this make u aware. 5/20/2018 read more

In town for business and checked out Corner. First off the service was outstanding. Our waitress Kayla took great care of us. She made lots of great recommendations (even other places we should try while in town). The cornbread is good. The trio dips were great. I had the grouper and thought it was great. I didn't have desserts but they looked really good. I had a jalapeño margaritas and regular margarita and they were both great. Great spot downtown with nice outside seating. Ask for Kayla and she will take great care of you. read more

Great place very vibrant and great happy hour drinks. Definitely a great place to take a break and relax.

The three dips with chips was awesome the guacamole was incredible. I also had the brisket au jus dip and it was delicious. We sat outside and it was a wonderful atmosphere read more

Came here on Saturday for a late lunch and drinks with my buddy. We were able to sit at the bar outside without having to wait which was nice. They have a pretty good selection of beers, being in Austin I went with a nice 512 IPA. My friend and I both thought the menu was well put together. Not so many options that I couldn't decide, but they differently have something for everyone. We ordered the chicken sandwich. It came with red onions, tomatoes, avocado and some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. Great place to try when looking for a nice meal and drinks in downtown Austin. read more

We wanted to grab a bite to eat before the bat festival. We stumbled upon Corner and we weren't disappointed. I ordered the turkey club and my husband had a burger both served with fries. My husband enjoyed the burger and the bun was fresh and included jalapeños. I was not disappointed with the Turkey Club. The sourdough was slightly crispy, the bacon and Gouda were tasty and the tomatoes and mayo were a nice touch. The fries were good, but not spectacular. The service was great and we enjoyed the ambience and decor of the restaurant. As a tourist, I would be back again to enjoy a bite. Happy hours runs Monday-Friday, so we missed out. read more

This place was SO GOOD. I've been to a lot of restaurants that are part of hotels and they generally aren't that good. However, this restaurant pleasantly surprised me. I ordered the Seven Layer Salad and they bring it out and mix it right in front of you. I would highly recommend that-- it is very filling as well. read more

This place was alright. Cool location and good vibes outside. Kind of pricey and food was okay. Best to go here when it is warm outside. We went at 7 pm and it was freezing outside read more

After frequenting the Corner bar at the JW for a few years I've surmised they have the best fried chicken sandwich in Texas, no competition thus far. Drinks are good, and service has been good as well. Seats in the bar area open up quickly. read more

Loved sitting outside and people watching. Order the zucchini cornbread- it was to die for!

Overpriced bar food. The White Cheddar Chili with chicken had zero seasoning. I came close to asking the kitchen for paprika and cumin. Also, it isn't chili. It's a bean soup. The BBQ brisket sandwich was not Texas bbq. It wasn't bad, but don't go in with this expectation. The oven roasted chicken was okay, but a little on the dry side. I get the vibe this caters to a more northern crowd as they don't use much seasoning there. Nothing wrong with that, just not my taste. read more

What a neat outside bar/lounge area this restaurant has! It's always packed especially when the weather is nice. But if you get a seat outside, you get to relax and people watch. The restaurant is located in the JW Marriott. Food is pretty good but the atmosphere here is awesome! read more

Excellent location. The salad had LIVE CRAWLING MAGETS in it. I suspect it was from the nuts. The waiter immediately apologized and saw the dancing salad leaves The chef also came out to apologize for the worms in the salad. I was highly disappointed with this experience and haven't seen magets in food before, not even in my travel in third world countries. Otherwise, The waiter was attentive and the hostess seated us with minimal delay. The drink selection was great. read more

This bar is attached to the JW Marriott downtown. It is an outdoor bar with plenty of Big Ass Fans (actual brand name) to keep it cool. We came on an 85 degree cloudy day and it was very comfortable with a constant light breeze. I had the dripping melon cocktail which was refreshing and sweet. My friend had the wild berry bramble. I can't recommend that cocktail because it had too much lemon making it overly bitter. They serve food, but we did not eat here. The bartenders are attentive but not very engaging. The music is too loud for my taste. Since it is attached to the hotel it's usually filled with out of towners. Not a bad spot but it isn't noteworthy either. read more

Great beer selection, margarita wasn't anything to write home about though. Ordered the chips and dip trio app, and the fresh made guac was the star of the show. Hubby, who is somewhat of a burger aficionado, said the corner burger was in his top 5 best burgers. I had the crispy chicken sandwich, and it did not disappoint! Service was attentive but not intrusive. Definitely recommend. TINY bit overpriced, but expected for downtown spots. read more

Get either the corner burger or the crispy chicken sandwich. Both were perfect. Also would recommend the brussels sprouts.

Trendy location in the JW Marriott. Great outdoor seating if you want to be outside. Inside is great too and modern Texas feel. Zucchini cornbread- SO fresh, if you are remotely in the mood, try it. Great for leftovers too. I am gonna look for the recipe after writing this review. I had the crispy fish tacos and they were so fresh and had just the right amount of spice. A little on the spicy side but that's how I like it. We also had the Jalapeno Honey Mustard Grouper and brussel sprouts. BOTH were AMAZING and I will be back for these. Healthy, i think, and levels of taste profile! Our waitress was very pleasant and brought my son extra pepperoni for his pizza. He is a bit of an addict. Thanks everyone, we will be back. read more

decided to get some food so did the bar service. guy behind the bar, with the sleeve tattoos had to be fetched down. 3 to 4 bartenders absolutely with a steady bar, he Keyport avoiding eye contact. finally hailed him down like a ny taxi. ordered a turkey club and a beer which mr. tats requested my credit card. the bar was filthy. old drinks were there when i sat down. wasn't even clear my seat was available. Had to one again hail mr clueless to wipe the filth off the bar. This is a high end bar with top prices. Not some dive bar!!! Turkey club was 4.5 stars all around. Experience at the bar was not. Had to get another bartender to get my tab. Clean the bar. 45 min there your bartender didn't remove a single dirty glass, counter not whipped, very unprofessional for a high end bar and restaurant. Dirty! read more

Unusually solid food and drink for a hotel restaurant. Atmosphere is comfy and upscale without being stuffy. Outdoor seating is great on nice weather days. Food is really good. I like The cornbread, 7 layer salad, the chicken sandwich, and the corner burger. Really solid craft beer selection and the cocktails are tasty. One of my go-to spots for business lunches and happy hour. read more

Great indoor/outdoor bar and restaurant in the heart of beautiful Austin, TX. Excellent beer, mixed drink, appetizer and entree selection. Great ambiance and people watching. read more

Was downtown for a conference and needed to grab some lunch. Corner was right next door, so I thought I would jump in and give it a try. They had ample outdoor cozy patio seating, but ventured inside to avoid the humidity. The indoor seating area is quite spacious and larger than I anticipated. It is dimly lit and swank modern. The place was crowded for lunch and had a 20 minute wait. The bar seating inside and out is first come first serve, and you can order from the full food menu. So I ventured to find a seat at the bar, and squeezed in between some people. Their were several bar tenders buzzing around trying to keep up with the large area to cover. I was friendly greeted and handed some menus. The lunch prices are a bit steep for what you get once you add everything up. The food is OK, just nothing stellar. The seven layered salad was unique. The salad came in an upside down glass that they took off the plate after they serve it too you, leaving behind a beautiful layered masterpiece. The salad was tasty, but just had a bit too much ranch dressing. Overall comfortable seating, friendly and fast service, and OK food. read more

Short story: food was fine, service was horrid. We showed up on a Friday night around 8. We were told that there was a wait for a table but that we could sit at the bar high tops and order from the bar. It took 10 minutes to flag the bartender down to get him to take our order. In that time two separate booths opened up and stayed empty the rest of the time we were there. Once we ordered, they gave us the wrong receipt and the bartender was upset when he had to print me a new one. The fried chicken sandwich was not bad. The pickled onions were the best part of it. The shrimp and grits were not good. Two of the shrimp had shell pieces stuck on them. It was a disappointing first dinner in Austin. read more

I don't know what happened, but we had the worse experience here tonight. Our waitress was rude and they messed our bill up several times. We got there at 8:30pm and didn't get to leave until almost 10:45pm because they were SO slow. All of our parking expired because we were there for so long. The food was also really bad and not worth what we paid. I will definitely not be coming here again and warn you to stay far away. read more

I didn't eat here, just came for some drinks. The service was great, every single employee I passed by gave me a warm smile and a "have a great night!". Great experience and I"m definitely looking forward to coming back once the weather warms up a bit so I can enjoy the outdoor seating. read more

Wow, so glad we chose to stop here for dinner. The hosts and staff are very friendly. We waited a few minutes so we could get a table outside and this is a must. The weather was beautiful and people watching is always a fun side to dinner. The chips/salsa/queso/guac is a must. Extensive selection of local beers. There is also an open seating bar area right on the corner which is bustling. read more

I ended up here on a Saturday night with some friends after helping out at an event. We were looking for a place within walking distance of where we were and someone suggested Corner. I had never heard of it so I was open to it. Corner is located in the JW Marriott hotel. Seeing as how it was a Saturday night and we were a group of 13 I thought we would have a long wait. However, I believe our wait was probably about 15-20 minutes. Time flies when you're chatting with friends. Our server was pretty darn awesome and had a great personality. I think his name was Matt but I could be really wrong. We ordered cornbread for the table and it was delicious!! For my entree I was torn between the corner burger and the crispy chicken. One of my friends had the crispy chicken before and loved it. Sold. I'll take one. The crispy chicken consists of a jalapeño cheddar bun, tomato, avocado, queso campesino, pickled onions, and jalapeño aioli. It was soooooooooo good. The only bad part was when it was all gone. I'd go back for the sandwich alone. So I can't forget to mention my side. I opted to get the mac n cheese as my side. It was also delicious!! I'd love to come back and maybe try some other options (or not lol). It is a great venue. Parking seems like it might be tricky. Not sure if the restaurant validates any parking as I walked there this visit. read more

No joke probably the worst food I've ever purchased from a restaurant. Absolutely no flavor and nothing made sense.
