I can't remember whether it was described as dramatic as it showed up, but let me tell you there was drama! It was served in a flaming skull, garnished with beautiful flowers and fresh fruit, and filled to the brim with God knows how much alcohol and juice, but it was a time! Once we walked through Manny's, we were greeted right away and since we had a reservation, we were seated promptly. Quick heads up: cell phones aren't allowed inside -- they take your phone and give you a key to a locker where it's stored for the night. The idea is to keep everyone present and engaged with each other instead of their screens (they do make exceptions for emergencies or on-call situations, at the business's discretion). I actually love the reasoning behind it, even though I wished I had my phone to snap pictures of the inside! The space itself is dark and moody with major art deco Miami vibes, like something out of the 80s-90s. Think pink velvet draped everywhere, a life-size taxidermy leopard in the middle of the bar, and flamingo sculptures scattered throughout. It's gorgeous. There's plenty of seating between the booths/couches and the bar, and they seat you according to your party size. We got a plush half-circle booth with a table that fit all of us perfectly -- great sightlines too, so everyone could see and talk to each other easily. Each table gets an assigned server, and ours was fantastic. We ordered cocktails along with the yuca fries, empanadas, and quesadillas -- all delicious. I can't remember the name of my cocktail, but it was pink, gin-based, and so good, served in a beautiful tall stem glass. She had the most miserable scowl on her face. My girlfriend and I were dressed very nicely (pants & jacket, and a dress), so I know this was not a outfit issue. I do not know what her issue was, but if you are tired and don't like staying up late, don't work in a bar. After saying that there was only standing room, I decided that I was not going to spend money in an establishment that speaks to people in such a disgusting way, so I proceeded to leave. One of the guys out front asked what was wrong and asked if he could buy us a drink, but at that point I decided that I would not spend a dime at this place. Just giving a heads up! My employer frequently holds large happy hour socials here. Today at 3:30 PM, to celebrate a colleague's promotion, myself and four young men asked the hostess (the one that's 4'5' and built like Barney Rubble) for a seat in the patio bar. She said 'I'm sorry, the patio is closed." This, after she'd just seated the party before us in the patio at one of the seven empty tables. There was a bartender on duty in the patio, and two other tables were also occupied by groups. I'm not sure why she chose to discriminate against our group, and so obviously lie to my face, knowing I could look directly at the open patio bar. She was certainly rude for someone so ugly. I intend to share this incident with Marketing and Corporate, and discourage everyone from ever patronizing this dump again. It was extremely insulting, and I have to say I have never before been openly discriminated against in 46 years on this planet, 25 of which I've spent working in downtown Austin. Looks like the patio is open as long as you are 22-30, white, and wearing a tank top with pink shorts. If that's you, I'm sure a woman with a flat head and bad skin will seat you in a moment. read more

I was excited to try this place based on the menu and because I used to eat at the food trucks that were there before. Service was meh. The plating was different and cool. Ordered the white chicken chili and seafood pot for appetizers. The seafood app had popcorn shrimp fried andouille sausage some other fried thing and fried veggies which all tasted like a frozen mix mostly batter. For the price, I was expecting jumbo gulf shrimp, at least I thought I saw the word "gulf" Anywho the worst part was my baby back ribs which needed a butter knife to pull apart. The sauce on top of them was so sweet and heavy I couldn't finish more than one. It's like they were smothered in sauce to cover up the over done meat. My friend had the braised short rib tacos and I could barely swallow one bite they were so nasty, especially the green sauce that came with. We both also noticed how bad the cabbage in the slaw was. The only thing I liked was the Gouda Mac n cheese but I think it's because I was so hungry. read more

Corner Restaurant was one of the highlights of our time in downtown Austin. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and relaxed, making it a great spot whether you're meeting friends for brunch, grabbing cocktails, or enjoying a nice dinner. The restaurant has a vibrant energy without feeling overwhelming, and the patio is especially enjoyable for people-watching in the heart of the city. The food was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Every dish felt elevated without being overly complicated, and the menu offers a great mix of Southern-inspired comfort food and modern Texas flavors. The cocktails were equally impressive and paired well with the meal. What really stood out was the service. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely seemed invested in making sure guests had a great experience. I visited this restaurant in Austin on July 4th, and unfortunately, my experience was less than stellar. From the moment we arrived, the hostess didn't seem very welcoming and simply directed us outside to find our own table. Once seated, the bartender who also served as our waitress didn't seem friendly or attentive. When I noticed another dish that looked more appealing and asked if I could change my order, she just rolled her eyes and made the change without a word. Throughout the meal, we didn't get any check-ins or water refills, which was disappointing. As for the food, I ordered the green enchiladas for $25 and while they were okay, I've definitely had better. Overall, I hope they can improve their service because the atmosphere and location have potential. read more

I had a rather disappointing experience at this restaurant. I had high expectations for the quality of the dishes, but unfortunately, it didn't meet my hopes. The steaks we ordered weren't served warm, and the potatoes were excessively salty. Even the chicken nuggets we got for my child were too salty. One of the steaks was tough, as well. The guacamole we ordered was overly spicy, and the shrimp was heavily seasoned and too spicy. The most unfortunate item was the elote. It was intensely sour due to the excess lime they added to it. My husband loves their BEC, the chicken biscuit, and he used to love the chopped cheese.

The service was decent, with friendly staff, and the kitchen accidentally sent us an extra side for free, but the food was not good enough to make me want to return. We started with Sawyer's Famous Biscuits, which were probably the best part of the meal. They were fluffy but crispier than most biscuits I've had, and I enjoyed the contrast in textures. Of course, it also helps that biscuits are hard to dislike when served with whipped butter and house preserves. For my main, I ordered the Little Bit of Chicken Fried. The fried chicken breasts were mediocre and slightly dry, the green beans were undercooked, the cornbread was overly crumbly, and the poblano gravy lacked flavor. My dad ordered the Barbacoa Benedict and was not impressed either. The eggs were overcooked, and after one bite, he left the crispy potato cakes untouched. We both heavily disliked the grits, which our waitress had recommended. Like the poblano gravy, they essentially tasted like water, with little to no seasoning or flavor. We were lucky, or perhaps unlucky, enough to receive two orders of them. Overall, there were a few positives, mainly the biscuits and friendly service, but the rest of the meal was extremely underwhelming. With so many highly rated brunch spots in the area, I do not think the food here is worth going out of your way for.

The first time it was the day after a snow storm and nothing else was really open. We were staying at another hotel down the street and decided to walk around town and this is one of the few places that were open so it was a great chance to come in and try out their food. Our waitress was amazing and very hospitable. It was a cool diner setup that's also connected to a hotel so it made sense where this was probably their only place for food but we were very thankful that they were open. I got that duck confit and waffle. It ended up being very delicious. And it sounds amazing too. And of course the waffle is in the shape of Texas. I also ordered coffee and our waitresses amazing about refilling it every time we're running low. Definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for great dining experience here in Austin. We didn't know what to expect based on the reviews but were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and fast service! Over the course of our hotel stay, we had the opportunity to try a variety of breakfast items off of the menu, and everything was solid. I absolutely loved the spicy avocado toast (to which I added scrambled eggs on top) and the breakfast burrito! All the ingredients on the avocado toast worked together perfectly from the pickled red onions to the garlic chili oil, and the spicy chorizo + crispy potatoes in the breakfast burrito was to die for. My husband enjoyed his dishes as well -- breakfast sando and chia seed pudding.

The restaurant is really cute, it's super cozy with all the warm wood, but feels very modern and elevated. It kind of reminds me of a restaurant you'd see in Copenhagen. That area, Blanco & 6th offers valet for the night for $12 which is a nice option to have. My one gripe is I think it's a little pricey for what it is. But in the Clarksville neighborhood, it's to be expected. Additionally, my company had its holiday party there last year and that was a really nice place for an intimate (50-60 ppl) gathering! They do buffet style, the food & drinks were delicious and it was a fun time.

Lots of lush green plants and some fun architectural design choices inside that try to be like one of those hip concrete coffee shops but imagine a restaurant instead. Food: Of course i ordered a burger happy meal that came with fries and an alcoholic mudslide for $22. You also have the option to have chicken tenders, a really fun idea and tastier than a fast food burger. I really enjoyed the happy meal experience and my friend enjoyed her caesar wrap. Would come here for a casual midday week break again!

Unfortunately for us, the bats didn't want to come out on the particular night that we were there, but it was still a wonderful visit here at P6! The service was amazing and food was coming out pretty quickly too despite the number of dishes we ordered for our group of 11. It's more of a casual setup with couches and lower tables so that was a little bit tricky to eat a full on fork and knife meal, but the views made up for it. They do have some barstool seating for smaller parties as well. The menu is mainly tapas/family style here so it was perfect for our big group. I really liked everything that we tried but the highlights were definitely the lamb ribs (I don't even like lamb very much), the zaatar bread, charred cabbage, and the seared branzino with beurre blanc. They had a few mocktail options, so I picked the Miami Nice, which was a refreshing strawberry flavor profile. They have valet parking and validation at the host stand which made it very convenient for us! Everything was so picturesque here. Definitely an amazing spot to have a sunset dinner with a view here in Austin!
