I stopped by Corner on my visit to Austin recently, and I can't recommend this spot enough. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, the drinks were spot-on, and Jess (the bartender who helped me out) was nothing but pleasant - and a great conversationalist to boot. read more

Had Breakfast there for Mothers day, Place looked ok and was busy but the waiters were sort of robotic. The menu was their brunch menu and was very limited - made up more for their cook staff than their customers...The burger i ordered tasted find but was a mess when i tried to pick it up and eat it...the fries were cold which i had them replace... My friends orders were pretty much the same... Over priced for the plate... I closed my eyes and I swear i was in LA... Shame because Austin is known for its original restaurants. Side note..... The fire alarm went off and not one of the wait staff knew what to do. SAD ! read more

Food was ok. Was disappointed that the menu online for brunch did not match what they actual serve. It's almost completely different. Atmosphere is great. read more

Our flight came in pretty late and the bartender made sure to get our full order in, drinks, dinner and dessert. My husband and I shared the crispy fish tacos. The sauce was flavorful and had a kick to it. The tres leches cake was very moist and flavorful as well. Oh and I can't forget the jalapeño hibiscus margarita. If could have been stronger but still good. Overall great service and great food. read more

Our waiter was AMAZING. I turned Down Pepsi and he went to the hotel to track me down a Coke. Like, WUT?! Did not expect that. The Faro Kale salad rocked my world. It was exceptional in every way. The watermelon salad was really meh. I'd skip that. Not enough cheese bits and the greens didn't go together or with the watermelon. read more

Great ambiance. Sat at the bar. Service was super slow. It took over 10 minutes to get a drink and had to ask for everything. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a steak sandwich and they both came out cold. read more

Great atmosphere and good food... the location is in a great spot downtown and the drinks are strong and tasty. Our server Nick Q has been attentive and timely. Not intrusive but kept contact with our table (despite being busy). He was one of the most professional servers I have seen in a long time. The meal was great and the service was spectacular.... for a causal restaurant it superseded all expectation. Would recommend this place to anyone seeking superb food and service in a causal atmosphere read more

I dined at this establishment with a group of 10. The service was alright and food seemed good. However, about 6 hours after leaving, 5 of the 10 that all ordered the same entree were experiencing food poisoning symptoms. After everyone including myself had recovered, I called the restaurant just to inform of what happened, not looking for any type of refund or credit. The manager, Josh, was very rude and told me food poisoning takes 24 hours to set in and make someone sick and that it wasn't from the food at this restaurant . I was very disappointed in his response and the fact that it was inside a JW Marriott, which typically go above and beyond for their guests. I will absolutely never recommend this restaurant to anyone solely because of how the manager handled the situation. read more

The menu is relatively small in terms of selections, but with that said the Crispy Chicken sandwich was pretty darn tasty. The corner house salad with chicken was pretty normal as you can go, although the macaroni side was quite good. The fries were okay, not really a fry-guy (unless it's Cajun, Curly, or has toppings), but they tasted relatively crispy and seemed like a slightly better version than... Shake Shack? (for comparison purposes). I would recommend the burger and macaroni, as they were quite delicious, although maybe you could sub the fries with the burger for the macaroni. read more

good location and nice atmosphere, typical high prices for drinks. You get what you expect here.

Very cool indoor outdoor bar in the heart of Austin. Great place to sit outside when the weather is nice. $33 for 4 drinks. read more

Corner Restaurant - Bars Near Me - Austin, Texas

The atmosphere is really chill. Patio looked really fun to sit and have some drinks and snacks before hitting the town. The kitchen is open so you can see what is going on which I loved. The bar is well stocked with Texas beers and spirits as well as your typical stuff. It was nice to see a restaurant support local farmers, breweries, etc. the staff was very pleasant and courteous. They will provide suggestions for anything you'd like. The cornbread is a must. As soon as you sit down, order it. Drinks are made very well. Try something from their signature menu. The only thing I would say is expect some differences in the menu listed on Yelp to what they actually have. It's not like you won't find something equally as tempting. The menu is diverse but has a southern flare without frying every single thing. The fish tacos were yummy. The sauce they serve with it is a little spicy so if you are more sensitive to that, caution! The grouper was FANTASTIC! Slightly spicy as times, but not too much to handle. I subbed the potatoes with the goat cheese grits and so glad I did. They were creamy and perfect! The pork tacos were yummy as well. Portions were pretty big with those. And when all else fails, go for a burger. Fries were thin, but perfect. No complaints here except we all wished we had room for more! read more

Had the Fish Taco's and a glass of wine. Both were great and the location was very central to downtown Austin. The server Luis was very pleasant and I didn't have to wait long for my food. Overall, great experience and would recommend read more

Corner bar is such a nice spot when it's nice out. The outside seating is the coziest ever. My friend and I went for lunch one day and ended up lounging for so long because it was such a breezy and nice day. We ordered the guac and both got salads, which were delicious. I've been to the bar at night a few times, which is a nice change from the typical Austin bars but it will cost you. read more

Hotel restaurants have had a bad rep. They aren't always the best and they're overcrowded with hotel guests. But Corner is quite the opposite! The food is amazing, especially the brisket nachos, get this and you will come back just for those. It's never too packed, at least the 7 times I've been there and the service is great. Also it's in a nice location so after dining you can stroll around downtown and get some dessert at the nearby yogurt/gelato shop. read more

Have MATT, (red beard), serve you and talk about music. The guy has recommendations about everything and will make your first stay incredible. The outside seating was wonderful, and yeilds itself to conversation with those around you. Drinks were a little overpriced, but food was great. Nuff said. read more

First time here and our server, Jeremy, was the sweetest and so attentive. The food was good, my group wasn't too hungry but still very much enjoyed what we got. Again, want to point out that Jeremy is a precious gem. read more

The. Best. Chicken. Sandwich. I've. Ever. Had!! Came in town for a George Straight concert and stayed at the JW. After checking in we had a late lunch off their Sunday brunch menu. The chips/dips platter has amazing guacamole and cheese dip, and the salsa is definitely unique and delicious. Service was friendly and fast and atmosphere was pleasant. Definitely recommend! read more

Great views of the city, great food, service, drinks, ambiance...I enjoyed my visit here. I came with a group on a Saturday night. It was a gorgeous evening and although we arrived at a prime dinner time we were still able to snag outdoor seating with only about a 15 min wait. The couches in the bar area outside are seat yourself and look like great spots for people watching but we weren't about to jump into the awkward competitive situation it becomes to get one. We all enjoyed a couple of cocktails from the menu I can't recall the name but the bourbon one was fantastic. We shared the dips and the shishito peppers which were both great. Then we also shared a couple of their salads which again had great flavor, were very fresh and were good portions sizes for sharing. This was a great spot for our girls night out and I hope to come again in the future. read more

Excellent food. Started with shishito peppers two ways- delicious with ranch dipping sauce. I had the chicken sandwich and wife had the grouper - both great. The jalapeño hibiscus marg was perfect. read more

Words can't express how grateful I am to the Corner/JW Marriott team. Lauren, Tom, Mauricio, Karl (front desk and the JW Marriott) were amazing. My colleagues, sons and I were fortunate to stay last week during the "winter storm". We lost water and power and my boss, the CEO of FEVO (he needs a shoutout) made arrangements for all of us to be safe and comfortable. I already felt fortunate to be at a hotel but what made it wonderful was the staff. I would come to Corner every day, 3 times a day for 4 days. Every time I was met with a smile and help. The entire staff was kind and warm. The oatmeal was amazing. Breakfast was perfect. Lunch and dinner was great but the experience of the kind staff during a tough time made me love the place even more. Please support the hotels and restaurants. I am thankful to you for the power, water, food, service and kindness. read more

one of my favorite bars in austin! the drinks are always good, but tonight Jess took care of my brother and me and she was a HOMIE ! literally brought extra chairs to the table when the bar was full so we could sit in a new spot, was incredibly attentive and fast, and provided all around fantastic service at an already wonderful bar! read more

Just sat there for ten minutes with two of my friends. They've never been to Austin and I was super excited to show them Corner. But we were so annoyed, we just got up and left. Multiple bartenders made eye contact and none asked us if we'd been helped or anything. Extremely disappointed. read more

Classy. Simply put, classy. I went here on St. Patty's Day and although they were busy, the bartenders were awesome. I got the dip trio, and a mixed drink from the outdoor bar. The temperature at the bar was great, they have a great way to keep it cool. There was a nice, pleasant breeze. I had finished my drink, still no chips and when I asked the bartender had even said that they should have arrived already. Well, I get brought out a fresh hot try not even 2 minutes later, the bartender even made sure my chips were full throughout. To top it off, the same bartender bought my chips and dips! I was so thrown back by the great service, I wish I had gotten his name! Thank you so much to the bartender with the colorful eyes! read more

OK, everybody should get a do-over. Wowsir, I had a polar opposite experience and want to tell you that there are some lovely booths against the wall and east of the bar that sit two people very very nicely but you'll have to scout them out and ask. I had the same fish dish from the menu, a lovely filet with posole; perfectly cooked and the portion on the posole was bountiful but still made a beautiful plate. It was prepared perfectly, the fish flaked but wasn't dry. We also had their cornbread/poblano appetizer which was awesome. The waiter was a smart and cordial fellow named Brian and he was very helpful explaining options on food and martini selections. Finished with a gorgeous cup of coffee and walked into an exciting young crowd outside at their outdoor bar. It was very exciting and this is a great place to come with out of towners who are up for an exciting start to a big evening downtown. Food was great. Service was great. I found the best booth in the downtown for two. read more

This is definitely THE place to be downtown. Great location with outside seating; one problem is that it is packed outside. So we decided to sit inside for drinks/apps. This must be the only bar/restaurant without Happy Hour. Ended up getting 4 glasses of wine and 2 appetizers, bill came and it was $70!! Not sure I would go back, server was friendly and fun but absent a lot of the time. Had an empty glass at the end of the table for 15 minutes. Go if you are the 'Want To Be Seen' crowd that doesn't mind slow (but friendly) service and expensive drinks. Otherwise not worth it. read more

Cannot express how much i enjoyed dinning here, our server (BRIAN) was amazing, very on point with timing and knowledgeable of ingredients and dishes. The food was delicious and fresh. Definitely recommend it and will be returning soon. (My husband and I just moved to town). read more

Started off with a local beer Pearl Snap which the server Emilio said was like a Texas Stella. It was a great choice. The zucchini cornbread was to die for, enough for 4 to split and not be super full before dinner. I had the pecan crusted grouper over masked potatoes. My son had a burger added bacon. It was a great meal and I was glad to walk to dinner from the Radisson. Not many choices on this menu but we found something we liked. read more

Corner bar is a yummy and convenient place for lunch if you work downtown. The 7-layer salad (presented table side via server lifting a long vase, perfectly-layered ingredients inside) is a must. Gouda Mac 'n Cheese is delicious as a side. Servers are always prompt and friendly. I only wish they served the full lunch menu in the outdoor lounge area! read more

The food is okay & the servers are great (especially Tori!) Big downside are the bees. They pretty much swarm the bar. If you come, sit inside!! You've been warned. *side bar, if you're going to advertise as "the flavors of Texas" then maybe a muffaletta isn't the best thing to put on the menu. (That's from New Orleans!) Clearly they don't know Texas. read more

Horrible service! Sat at the bar and it took about 13 minutes until someone gave us a menu even after we had asked for some. Server was rude, sarcastic, and overall a very unaccommodating person, it was as if we were inconveniencing him. OH! and the good was just terrible. I got a grilled shrimp Brussel Sprout salad which had WAY too much citrus juice. My boyfriend ordered vegan which was clearly a burden for the waiter to even handle. Over priced, nasty food, rude service. Do NOT recommend. read more

Please learn how to seat singles. The restaurant has tons of open seating and I am sitting at a lone table for 4, in the middle of the room right in front of the outside bar. I feel like a bright light shining on me "she's alone, look at her " you must get a lot of travelers who are s party of one. Learn how to seat singles. I asked to be moved and that was a chore, oh let me check, there might be a reservation for that table. Oh really, I see nothing but open tables. Give me a break. How does one begin to describe the culinary delight I experienced at this location....lunch began with the corn bread (ordered by a colleague, who to my dismay chose an item I would usually liken to pencil shavings and corn)....I could not have been more wrong, dense, sweet, dessert like on the top, and a heavy reminder of Sunday's with Grandma inside...a must have! I ordered the shishito peppers...amazingly big flavor with a moderate amount of spice....superb in both texture and taste....followed by the beef barbacoa tacos and chimchurri....be still my beating heart.... read more

The restaurant has a great vibe to it and Cara took care of us, she was AMAZING! Great experience.

I love this place! Was there just the other night on my last trip to Austin. The braised rib tacos were my absolute favorite.

Delicious food! Yummy drinks! Great place to sit outside and enjoy the downtown Austin scene. Crispy chicken sandwich was great!
