The worst experiences I have ever had at Corky. This was the Collierville location. I ordered the pulled pork dinner. I had maybe a tablespoon of bbq sauce on the pork. The coleslaw was very watery. I ordered the banana pudding didn't think that I was literally getting instant banana pudding no wafers no banana. Worst eating experience at this location. read more

If you can mentally handle to horrendous service, you might be able to still enjoy the food.

Food was delicious. we had a party of 6 and everyone loved their meals. But I have to say our server, Clint, was exceptiona!! He was friendly, courteous, very attentive. Not a drink glass was ever empty nor did we want for anything. His warm smile, great personality, and exceptional service made our day. Thank you Clint!! read more

Last night my husband and I went to Corky's in Collierville for dinner. The drive thru line was completely around the building and two cars shy of being out on Poplar Ave, so we weren't sure if dining room was open or not, but we took our chances and went in. The dining room was indeed open, and just like many other restaurants, the staff was extremely limited. In fact, there were only two young ladies manning the dining room, both named Shalonda. It was apparent one was a waitress and the other appeared to have been the hostess, as she is the one that greeted us and her uniform was a bit different. BOTH of these ladies were on point!! There were about 6 other tables with people dining in and these ladies handled all of us wonderfully. The one that I believe was the hostess was helping out with waiting tables, getting drinks, delivering foods, etc. We knew the wait time to get our food would be longer than usual just by the line for the drive thru, as the kitchen staff can only do so much, but it actually was not that bad. We have been to several other places since the pandemic and the massive staff shortages everywhere and many of those experiences have been everything but pleasant, but not at Corky's. Shalonda P. and Shalonda D. were both so kind and professional even though we know they were under a tremendous amount of stress and one had worked from opening to close!! Now, that's dedication and a loyal employee. Oh and they are BOTH NEW employees that have only been there a month !! Both my husband and I expressed our gratitude to both of the ladies and also spoke with Wade, the manager, to let him know what a great job these ladies were doing. I really hope the higher ups and possibly the owner sees this as they need to know what an asset they have with these two ladies!! Now as far as the food, I agree with others, it has changed a bit, especially the onion loaf, which used to be my favorite guilty pleasure. Not so much now, the onions are pretty much nonexistent and it is a tower of fried greasy batter. The chicken was still good as in the past, just much smaller now and the bologna was still delicious, as was the rolls. Banana Pudding was not good to me at all as it tasted like the smell of glue. But overall we will go back because the service we received outweighed the negative onion loaf and banana pudding by far! read more

Been to various Corky's locations over the years but never Collierville location. Cork'y's never been my choice for ribs or bbq but occasionally for some reason out of towners want to go. Such was case last night. Wasn't a good experience. No one in our group of 6 will return. Variety of items were ordered. Bbq nachos were decent. Bbq sandwich ok. Onion loaf extremely greasy. Hamburger was a hockey puck. Dry ribs (they have wet or dry) were tasteless, no smoke flavor, no crusty bark. Not trimmed well -lots of fat & gristle. Place was not busy but service terrible. Waitress was new & trying but so many things wrong, was hard to excuse. One person's food was delivered 20 min before anyone else's. After that, meals came out a different times. Asked for water repeatedly & never got it. One person's order was wrong. Asked for to go box 5x before we got it. One person's check was wrong. At 1 point another wait person came with our pitcher of beer & remained at table & talked for 15 minutes about his traumatic experience getting braces -while we waited for him to pour the beer. Not sure what prompted this -except one of the kids with us had braces- but it was bizarre, inappropriate, unpleasant & annoying. Too many other good bbq/rib places in Memphis to go here. read more

We arrived with a long line of people and were told it would be about an hour wait. We went to the bar while we waited and had a Corkys Ale--it was a delicious wheat beer. After about 30 minutes they were able to seat us. The waitress was pleasant, quick, and efficient. We had our food within about 10 minutes. And WOW, the dry rub pork ribs were the things bbq dreams are made of--with meat so tender it falls off the bone and the flavor of the rub is incredible, the dinner rolls are some of the best I've had (except my mom's of course;) ). The bbq beans were decent, and coleslaw was good. Overall this was the best pork ribs I've ever had. I'll grab some to go for my non traveling family to try:). The banana pudding was delicious too! read more

Wow. We came on a sunday night at 6:30. Only one table of 10 was seated . It appeared that they only had 1 server. She handed us menus and told us to "go sit in one of those booths". We ordered our food. Food was actually good. So apparently the kitchen staff had it together. Now we get our bill. We had come to Corkys because we had a Memphis gift card. As the serve came by our table , she looks down and says "oh, we don't take those". I said it a Corkys GC why would t you take them. I was told 'they don't work in our system' . I said well please try it. Be sure to run it as a credit card. I was told in a very snotty tone that she knew how to do it. Now mind you , she couldn't make it work so obviously she DIDNT know how to do it. Then the manager came to our table. He basically told use that the card wasn't activated. I showed him my Kroger receipt with activation code. He still said it must not be activated - even though the server had obviously had issue before us and it wasn't an issue on krogers end. Horrible customer service. I will be calling Corkys but I'm not hopeful that customer service will be better. So many good places in Collierville.... I recommend somewhere else. read more

Great place. Fantastic food. Everyone was friendly and came by to check on us. Will come back next time in Memphis.

I always get my food to go. This time all I ask for was extra bbq sauce and I get to where I'm going there's no extra sauce, no roll and who made the slaw that was horrible. It tasted like nothing but onion and mayo. Nothing to eat with. Don't think I will be coming back. read more

Check your $120 order and don't trust the dude that brings it to your car. I specifically asked if everything was in the bag (of course the lazy guy said yes). Now I have 3 1/2 slabs of dry rub ribs with NO SAUCE because he was too lazy to double check the order. Thanks for nothing! read more

TRIPLE TO CLEAR THE BASES IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 8TH! When you're here, you're family! I ordered dinner to go from here the other night on the way back from a late meeting and was very impressed. Amber did a great job taking my order and ensuring things were expedited when I came in to pick it up. Very friendly and customer-focused. Eddie Gavin came out and we talked for a few minutes. I've known Eddie for years from when we played church-league basketball years ago, and he runs a great restaurant. Tonight I ordered the BBQ Chicken sandwich and it was CRAZY-GOOD!! The chicken was cooked well; the sauce was on point; and it was huge - a mammoth sandwich (which was nice for a chance). I had a side of corn on the cob (cooked perfectly) and some of those deliciously buttery rolls. What a great meal from a friendly restaurant. I can't wait to return. read more

On our way back from fishing the Tennessee River my cousin and I decide to give Corky's a try. At first sight we were nervous. From the outside, this place looks like chain, almost like we were headed into an Applebees. However, in this case, we learned not to judge a book by it's cover. Having eaten at Rendzvous the night prior, we were hoping this would yield a better experience, and it did. Let's start with the ribs. The ribs are Corky's were much meatier and tender. At Rendzvous the ribs had very little meat and didn't not fall off the bone. Corky's did. And, their rub is pretty good, too. We also tried several other meats: their pork, smoked turkey and chicken, all of which I'd give a solid rating to. The pork was much better than we had at Rendzvous. Much. The smokey turkey was good, not great. It could have been a little more juicy and we only had a few bites of the chicken as we were full! It was, however, juicy, fell off the bone and packed with flavor. The sides were ok. They weren't gourmet by any means, but were loaded with flavor (and calories, I'm sure). The homemade potato chips were doused in their rub and awesome. The beans and slaw was ok, as were the fries. Honestly, we didn't tackle the sides too much. The meats occupied our time. The service here was very good. Our waiter knew everything about the menu and a ton about Memphis BBQ so he was able to compare what we'd had at other places to what they offer. And, unlike many of the other local BBQ places that are downtown, this spot is ruled by locals, not tourists (like us). read more

I usually really enjoy Corky's when I come back to my hometown. My salad this evening, pulled chicken entree salad, was delicious. Fresh green veggies, bacon, homemade croutons, the works! I loved it. Unfortunately my guests did not have a similar experience tonight. Their food seemed to be fairly subpar. My first guest's ribs were extremely tough and dried out-- as were the dinner rolls. Hard as rocks. My grandmother, a fairly picky eater, didn't really enjoy her barbecue chicken plate but chalked it up to her not having much of an appetite. I tried it and thought it was just fine in tenderness but lacked a little in flavor. She took it home to my grandfather and I'm sure it'll get eaten. All of that said, SERVICE WAS FANTASTIC!!!!! Jennifer was absolutely wonderful. She tried her best to remedy any and all issues we'd had. Once she realized my other guest was unhappy with her ribs she immediately offered to replace them or take them off the ticket. She never lost her smile and was so super sweet. We explained that we know she cannot help what comes out of the kitchen and we stated maybe this was just an "off night" for whomever was plating our food. All-in-all, I will be back for a visit from the PNW. I just hope next time the barbecue and ribs are as good as I'd remembered it being. read more

Had an excellent experience here the other night with the family. Jamal was our server and was outstanding. We had a combination of wet and dry ribs. The wet ribs were a touch over cooked but the dry ribs were quite good. One child loved the pulled pork slider. Collierville is my home town, but I reside in Texas . I order the chopped beef sandwich thru the drive thru . I did not check my order , it's Bar-B-Q is it should be fine . Wrong ! Loved this BBQ spot in Memphis. The ribs just fall off the bone! It's a bit like an Applebees or something inside- not too unique. But the food is good. We also tried the pulled pork and the smoke sausage- all were great. I liked the Spicy BBQ sauce the best. The rolls on the table are nice and warm. I would certainly visit here again. The dry rub forms a nice crust on the ribs and then you can smother with sauce- or get the wet ribs that just fall off the bone. Tough choice. You decide! read more

Tonight on the way home I went through the drive-thru at Corky's in Collierville. I ordered a pulled barbecue pork salad. Imagine my surprise when I got home and looked in the carry out container and there was no meat on my salad. I moved the lettuce, cheese and other toppings around thinking the barbecue might be on the bottom. Nope. Granted I have been trying to lean more towards vegetarian dishes to lose a few pounds but that's not what I was aiming for tonight. At this point, you are probably wondering way I the world I gave them five stars. The reasons are that 1) any other time I've been to this location the service and food have been great, 2) my salad while not what I ordered was wonderful and 3) the manger's handling of the situation was what you should be able to expect from restaurants. I called Corky's to let them know what had happened. The young lady that answered the phone was apologetic and asked me to hold for the manager. The manager apologized more than once. I was actually laughing about the situation because in the scheme of things in life it wasn't that big a deal I just wanted them to know. The manager, Eddie, offered to put a store credit on file for my next visit. I appreciate him and his handling of the situation. Good job! read more

Before arriving in Memphis, I thought bbq was good, but not orgasmic. While Corky's doesn't take that place (The Commissary in Germantown does for me), it is pretty much second place in my heart in terms of BBQ love. Corky's is a franchise with some great food and atmosphere, very family oriented but serves their own beer. There are pics of classic blues and jazz players all around the one in Collierville and the service is friendly and attentive, though when I went, there weren't very many people around. The pulled pork is quite tasty and the sauce just spicy enough. I tend to actually like my sauce more spicy (like the Commissary's hot bbq sauce) and I like LOTS of sauce, this is where Corky's is lacking. I'm a saucy gal, what can I say? Luckily, more sauce is always on hand or can be asked for :) Their ribs are quite tasty and I would even say better than the Commissary's. They have both dry and wet ribs, both which fall off the bone very cleanly (it's almost supernatural), though the dry ribs were a bit too dry for my taste. Oddly enough, when we brought them back as leftovers and heated them back up in the oven, it seemed like the leftovers were juicier and tastier than they had been at the restaurant! *SCORE!* The beer they brew is very refreshing and goes well with the food, so drink it up. My husband wasn't too fond of coleslaw that they served with the food and like the Commissary's slaw better (and he hates coleslaw) The price for all the food is quite well valued and it makes for it to be decent meal at a reasonable price that a family could survive it. SUMMARY: great food, 2nd place pulled pork, 1st place ribs, family oriented, good service and tasty beer read more

We were in a bit of a rush because we were headed to a nearby event but came here because we had had fast service in the past here and other Corky's locations. Well, that didn't happen right away as the tables around us were being served and we weren't even being noticed. We were finally able to get the attention of a server who was apologetic and proceeded to expedite our order. Food came out good, tasty and quickly as Corky's food typically is. Very appreciative of the server's efforts to get us out the door quickly so we could enjoy a good lunch and to our event on time. read more

Having moved from Boston I can tell you that you don't get BBQ like this in New England. (This is actual pork while the Blue Ribbon in the Boston area is beef.) They are so different you can't compare the two. I'm not a pork eater. I don't really like pork. My husband and I got the double rack of the dry rub ribs. I expected just to eat my sides and not much of the meat. Boy was I mistaken. I tasted a rib and didn't stop. The meat was tender. It fell off the bone and practically melted in my mouth. I got to try some of the "wet" ribs that my father in law had. Those were amazing too. I don't think my husband has even seem me eat pork with such gusto. And I just remember we had left over. I took them out of the box and ate them over the sink. Still damned good. Don't mistake this for Texas BBQ. We're not in Texas and BBQ varies by area. On top of the great food service was amazing. Friendly and speedy. Everyone in our party was happy and said it was some of the best BBQ they've had. read more

Best damn BBQ in the world. PERIOD! Order a sandwich "wet". You are going to ruin your cloths and smell like the place for days. But who the hell cares. You're gonna pass out the food is so damn good! As someone before said, its orgasmic! The potato salad is great. I'm not a coleslaw fan, so if you are like me you have to tell them not to put it on the sandwich. It is memphis style BBQ and thats how they do it. I can tell you this much. I love the place so much I have their food shipped to me. I'm not kidding. They've got it right and simple! THANK YOU read more

Been to other Corky locations when I was in town before. This location was nice because it wasn't as busy as the others. Food is always great! I love the ribs and pulled pork. They do have good salad options for those that are wondering. Also being from the north I had to have done hush puppies, they are great here. Setting is informal, tables usually seat up to 6, so good for a group. Staff is friendly, and do try to be quick. If you haven't been I would definitely recommend. read more

The food is great, but don't even think about getting take out. They screw up the order every single time. Not just me....while waiting for them to straighten out the mess they make with my order(4 times. I'm long suffering), I've watched other hapless patrons come in to get there q to go only to find out that they didn't receive the order, or they have not even started on it yet, or my favorite "we just started using a new system, so...." Like it was that poor guy's fault. Do yourself a favor- eat in and enjoy. Don't call for take out. Nov 18- once again, we order take out from Corky's.....potato salad for a cookout we are having tonight....their potato salad is great, but I don't care how good it is it could never make up for the atrocious service you get when you order take out from them. My wife ordered for pick up at 5. When she got there they didn't have the order ready. As usual. So they entered her order, said thanks, and........nothing. 15 minutes, girls up front are texting, no potato salad. After she asked for it, twice, they went back to get it and it had been ready the whole time. Corey's, your take out service is bad, bad, bad. You deserve to fail. read more

Corky's is good que. Not the best of the best, but I would be more than comfortable taking out of town visitors to show them what Memphis bbq is all about. Solid and consistent execution -- a SHARP contrast to the crappy job done by the Rendezvous. We've been eating at Corky's for a long time and it's always one of the main Memphis BBQ places we take our guests when they come to visit. I don't know what is going on because the past two times within the past month that my husband and I have gone to eat there, it's been horrible. We thought that one time it may have just been an off day, so we went back again today and were extremely disappointed. They changed the fries to these cheap versions and they came out cold and soggy. The ribs which we always get and normally are to die for were completely different. They were hard to pull apart and not as tender as the original Corky's ribs. I didn't have the heart to complain while there since the poor waitress was being worked to death, as she was the only one there tending to the guests. She stayed pleasant considering her running back and forth and dealing with a pretty consistent flow of people coming in to place to go orders and to dine in. She's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. I'm sad to say that if this is the future of this restaurant, then we probably won't be coming back. Again, such a shame, because we've really enjoyed it in the recent past. Could this negative experience be due to new ownership? I'm curious to know. read more
