This was my first experience eating here and I went off the base of reviews I read on Yelp. Well, I was very disappointed. Everything had little to no seasoning "fish, pull pork, chicken tenders, hamburger, fries". The coleslaw was not my taste or the barbecue sauce. It had no sweetness to it and there was only a dab placed on the bun and not the actual meat, so the pull pork sandwich was dry and bland. My child tenders had been cooked in fish grease "they tasted like fish" and dry, my child burger was dry, cheese hard, and it was smashed for $8 dollars. Also I received an order of fries in just a paper bag. They were cold and stale. They received two stars for getting my order correct since it was a large order that cost $50 which wasn't worth it. We ordered coleslaw, one muddy rib, and one dry rib. The meat from the ribs were dry. The coleslaw had 2 dead flies in it. I am absolutely disgusted. What happened to Corky's ? It used to be so good. The food was terrible. Never coming back. read more

Food is "ok". Used to love Corky's for its sauce, but as usual I burn out on one thing and move on to the next. Partial to Rendezvous sauce & rub now. Not their over-cooked, over-priced ribs - their sauce and rub. Anywho, I got a Corky's BBQ pack for 15 last night. In collierville for work and after a long drive into town we didn't feel like driving back into Memphis, I found this location on yelp and we went. Parking lot was full but the restaurant wasn't. I ordered the ribs (dry) and pulled pork with the regular slaw and beans and bread that comes with it. The slaw was not the best but had a unique enough taste to be worthwhile. The beans were regular old beans and the bread was good and fresh and buttery. Now to the important stuff. I had read that ribs were their specialty so I decided to try them. The dry run was good, tasty with out being too salty or having overpowering spice. They took to some sauce being slathered on them well. The pulled por was good, not the best. By only real complain was the sauce that came on them... tasted...OLD. Wish I had ordered with no sauce and added my own. The sauces were regular, spicy/hot and apple...made with apple sauce...no. Not my thing, I found I liked a mix of the regular and spicy sauce. There is also hot sauce if you want it. Ours was unmarked. read more

Corky's is pretty good BBQ. It is a clean and friendly BBQ joint, which both makes it more appealing but also leaks some credibility as a "down home" BBQ place. As with Asian food, the darker and scarier the restaurant, usually the better the food (imho). Their claim to fame is their dry rub and dry ribs. Anyone can throw a sugary BBQ sauce onto meat and make it taste good. Sealing in that smoky flavor and not overwhelming with sodium is a SKILL, my friends. They do it right with the yeast rolls, real butter, slaw, and more. Recently I drove-thru the Collierville location and got a sack of their homemade potato chips, which were nice and thick, but lacked flavor. Paprika is no substitute for salt, Corky's! We adore Corky's. There is no more succinct way to put it. There are hundreds of restaurants in Memphis, and we've been through this city a few dozen times, but we inevitably end up back at the same place. This, however, was our first excursion to the Collierville location, and I think it's our new favorite. No...I know it's our new favorite, and it's entirely because of their amazing staff. Corky's has a few locations, and as far as I'm concerned, all serve the best dry rub ribs you'll ever taste. This location, however, has the added bonus of ample parking and a much more relaxed atmosphere. The stars of our experience, however, were Stephanie and Christine. It's possible her name is Christina. She said it fast, and to be honest, Christine, it's your fault for not spelling it out for me... These ladies, who we are told are best friends, are everything that hospitality should be. They kept us company, laughed with us, entertained our baby, and brought us all the wonderful things we asked for. We'll be back through here in a few days, and we'll be going back, to the same location, to see the same ladies again. You guys should be proud. read more

I give this place 4 stars (more a 4.5) mainly because of their grilled chicken BBQ nachos - by far the best in Memphis and probably the world. I recommend getting everything on the side to make it a little easier to tackle. The rest of the food is hit or miss. Sometimes it's great, usually average, sometimes less than. I do like the onion loaf, though it's a bit heavy (similar to blooming onion from Outback). There are better BBQ places in Memphis, but the staff here is always pleasant and fast and again, best BBQ chicken nachos ever. read more

Was in town for the holidays and craved some good ol Memphis BBQ (who wouldn't?). Was trying to decide whether to go to the gtown commissary or here, the commissary was closed, plus I wanted some hushpuppies. The ribs were of course great - fall off the bone perfect. The potato salad (which my moms a big fan of) and BBQ beans did not diappoint either. My dad got a pulled pork sandwich and he seemed to enjoy it. I've always preferred wet vs dry ribs but both were really good. The hushpuppies were just alright. Gus' has much better ones! Service from the waiter couldve been better but it was the day after Xmas so imma cut him some slack. read more

Went beyond our expectations. Had the BBQ Nachos, Pulled Pork Sandwich and ended the meal with the lemon ice box pie! The BBQ was, of course, amazing... But the pie was out of this world! Looking for that hole in the wall type of restaurant that everyone flocks to because of great food? Look no further. The atmosphere is a bit dated but I can't think of anyone that goes to Corky's for good atmosphere. It's no wonder that Corky's has been a landmark in Memphis for so many decades and that they ship BBQ all over the United States.... It's because the food is great! The debate over who sells the best barbecue in Memphis won't be solved here but I would bet that Corky's is mentioned in almost every one of those countless debates and many times it ends up on top. read more

I've eaten BBQ all over the U.S., and this was some of the worst I've come across. Brisket is a challenging meat to cook, let alone BBQ, and Corky's brisket is terrible. Fatty, grisly, tough and just plain undercooked, their brisket borders on inedible. Their beans are mushy and float in too much sauce. It lacks the feel of a good BBQ joint. It's like a place where they think they know BBQ, but in reality, they don't. Ultimately the dining experience at Corky's doesn't attract you to ever return. read more

Catered food for 20 for a party. My sister showed up at 6 to pick up and was told they did not have order. I had to to call and give my confirmation # I was emailed in order for them to say they made a mistake. After getting home we realized a lot of the buns had mold on them. Corky's always my go to bbq place. I love this place! I know most all the waiters and they are friendly and glad to see us every time we come in. Been a fan for over 15 years! The BBQ meat will melt in your mouth! Matter of fact it is better today than ever! I am not a fan of the Commissary, the meat tasted like it has been boiled and I have to keep pouring on the sauce. First time to eat here. Positives: employees were friendly and respectful, they remembered our plastic ware and napkins, dessert (peach cobbler) was warm. Now for the negatives: waited 20 minutes in the drive through, couldn't get out after paying because they moved two people up because their order was not ready and I couldn't get out after I paid. Chose drive through because Parking lot is Tiny and no place to park! Food: corn on cob was bland, needed salt and butter, very pricey for the amount of food; tiny container of just okay potato salad, hushpuppies were dry and cold, brisket was a bit undercooked as I had to use my knife to saw through it to get a piece to eat and you need the sauce since there is little flavor to it; peach cobbler was not very sweet and to top it all off they forgot our dinner roll :( read more

Lousy. Not as good as the BBQ that we get in Boston. Cheap food. Unimaginative. Sugary, saucy, and dumb. The bread was too buttery. Dry rub ribs tasted like pork rinds. Wet ribs tasted too sweet and I could make the exact same thing at my place. read more

I hold to the school of thought that the flavor of BBQ should come more from smoke with seasoning adding nuances. Corky's flavor profile is the opposite. The rub taste fine but used so heavily that it overpowers the meat and any smoke flavor. It's not bad but I can't rate it above mediocre. read more

I'm here during BBQ fest which means they will not be busy at 1140AM. The very unfriendly lady at the front said she can't seat a party of two unless my other party came. There are 10 tables open. So I asked what if it was just me. She said then I could seat you, but if u saw you're waiting I couldn't seat you. I told her but this is corkys and she said but we have a small restaurant. She said it's the rule. I'm thinking you should be glad I even drove down here from downtown because there's BBQ fest happening literally 1 minute from my house, and you should be thrilled anyone is coming here during BBQ fest. So I did roll my eyes and in one minute she said oh I can seat you. By the way my friend arrived within 5 minutes and when my friend said there's one person here waiting with brown hair the lady told her no no ones here. Oh I'm sorry because we are not the same race it doesn't mean we are not friends. I'll be driving to Cordova from now on. To be fair I will rate food separately: I have always loved corkys but I realized that it's their sauces that I like. They also have good rolls and the best potato salad ever. Born and raised in Memphis. Always been a fan of Corky's, but the ribs I had Friday were the worst ribs I've ever had in this city. They were not far from jerky. At some point the cook or manager has to throw out the overcooked food rather than pass it off to to-go orders. Really stupid treatment of people in a city with so many rib joints. The dry ribs were amazing. The meat fell off the bone. The BBQ Nachos will make your mouth water. Worth it every time.

We once came here on the regular but we have not been here for a minute. Tonight we needed a quick dinner. We split a grilled chicken salad and the spouse got a pulled pork sandwich. Corkies has really gone down hill. I suppose that I should give theme way I felt anhas with friends and did not want to send it back. But these ribs were not meaty, they were dry and just nothing like they way they used to be. My friend had ribs that looked like they were meatier. The chef could have seen that these were sub standard. I think a 3 out of 5 is probably generous . I told them at the end the way I felt and they were sorry and asked why I did not send them back, but I do not view that as a good response. I do expect it to be right the first time. The original Corkies would not have let these go out to the table. read more

Man is this place good! I'm temporarily here for the month and I'm in the process of moving from Austin Texas to New York. The BBQ in Austin sucks compared to Memphis. This Corky's is located right near my temporary dwelling and I've already visited it twice. I found the service to be perfect and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. There food is incredible and I especially love their baked beans. Tomorrow we leave Memphis and will begin our move to New York City. I am planning to stop by one more time before we leave. read more

Great food, great management, great prices. Not the best inside but it's s BBQ place not suppose to be pretty. We get take out when we have company for 10-12 people and it's always great and a fantastic price for the bulk meals and set up a great buffet. Have to give this restaurant a low rating because my group was unable to eat there. We were driving in from OKC and called ahead to see if we could sit down to eat at 9..... They said fine. We then we're running 10 minutes late and called to let them know..... They said fine. We arrived to a locked door, called and the waitress said she would come open the door.... That never happened. Feels more like a fast food type spot than an actual restaurant. The food comes out quick and the service is pretty good. Love the drive thru. The seasoned fries are good, but I'd pass on the nasty orange looking slaw and the beans. The dry rub ribs are a must. The ribs are soft and they fall right off the bone. read more

Definitely the worst BBQ in this town. The Poplar Avenue location is average at best, but this one is horrible. Tiny, fatty ribs and dried out pulled pork. I am glad their smokin hot sauce was good, because the apple and the original are too sweet. I do not recommend this place. There are two other places in Collierville that are better, much better. read more
