Food
We purchased the 1 regular turkey leg & 3 turkey bowls
* The Regular O.G. (nice size) $16.65
* 2 Dirty Rice bowls (very small) $14.55
* Double bowl with candy yams with Mac & cheese (very small) $18.71
* It was very tasty! However, I don't believe the turkey bowls were worth the price. I should have paid for a stuff turkey leg instead.
Atmosphere
It's very loud. No matter if you are down stairs or upstairs, you cannot have a conversation. The twerking was meant to be upstairs but because it was so crowded, the down stairs area became a night club. Maybe there should be a separate area for to-go orders.
Customer Service
1. There is only one waitress/bartender for the bottom level. I didn't get her name, but she had pink and green hair. Though the bartender was extremely swamped, she was VERY POLITE & professional as she served the ENTIRE lower level by herself. She apologized multiple times for the chaos.
2. Also, The security guard was nice upon entry.
Wait Time
1. We stood around for a while waiting for someone to take our orders. There was no line and people were everywhere confused on whose order had been taken. Eventually, we sat at a table and NO SERVER came for 30mins. So, we had to push our way through the crowd to order at the bar with the young lady mentioned above.
2. There was no indication of when our order was ready. So everybody just grabbed anything that came from the kitchen. This establishment needs to at least take names or assign numbers to each order.
3. We waited for one hour and thirty minutes before we got an update on our order from another waitress (Sumayyah) who was originally assigned to the upper level. She noticed that we had been waiting for a while and made sure to provide us with clarity. Sumayyah brought us water & apologized though this issue was purely on the poor planning of management.
All in All: We enjoyed the food when we got home. However, we were not impressed with the lack of organization and the 2hour wait time for simple to-go orders. I would hate for these issues to hinder their success. Management should focus on how to revamp the methods for taking orders, hire more staff especially for Sundays, install sound boards upstairs to prevent the music from being so loud down stairs, and create a new process for to-go orders.
Update:
I tried to support this establishment a week later on a Friday. The website states that they close at 11pm. We attempted to call in an order at 8:37pm and we were informed that the kitchen closes at 8. read more
