What a great lounge. The parking lot it's in is the same you'd use for Cultura Tacos y Mas and Fuoco's! What a trifecta!!!!First, up front Robert (Bob, Bobby) is the best! Very knowledgeable able and top notch when interacting and delivering great customer service. Love they have Opus X's and the next two nights I went to town haha. They have 4 chairs in the front room and very well lit. Middle Room, Bar Room, is where McKenzie is throwing down! This is more that darker, club vibe. This has a lot of hightop seating and many TV's, not to mention a killer bar. Also awesome. She recommended a burrito place in the same parking lot and it was the best burrito I've ever had! The Third area is straight lounge chairs, music, digital jukebox and bathroom, with medium lighting. This lounge is very deceiving one would think it's very small if you go to the front but then you'll see if it's very large. Loved spending my time there both nights. *Overall, there aren't many lounges now down there, thank God this one's so good!*

The staff was very kind and asks how many are in your party and helps you get a table, which made everything much less stressful. They also give you menus while you wait so you can decide what you want ahead of time. We arrived at 10:30am and our wait was about 30 minutes so by the time we were able to order at 11am, the lunch menu was also available. I ordered the tater tots, Cinnagave Shaken Espresso, Dutch Baby Pancake and country sourdough toast with jam. With tax and tip, my total came out to around $40. It's definitely pricier than what I normally pay for breakfast. Most entrées range from $17-$34 and coffees are around $5-$10, so you can easily spend $30+ for one person. In these hard times, that's not exactly ideal for me. I also wanted to try a pastry to get the full experience, but when I found out the small blackberry danish was $7, I decided to pass. I just couldn't justify getting that close to $50 for breakfast for one person. Now for the food! The country sourdough toast with jam was actually my favorite item. The homemade sourdough was incredible and honestly deserves its roses. It sounds like such a simple thing, but it was so well done and easily the standout for me. Visually, the Dutch Baby Pancake was beautiful and definitely impressive when it came out. I've always wanted to try one, so I was excited! I will say, I've read everywhere that Dutch babies are supposed to have more of a custardy center and even the photos I've seen look that way. Mine didn't really have that texture at all and tasted more like a crepe. Maybe it was a little overcooked? It wasn't bad, just not quite what I expected. Still delicious! Unfortunately, the tater tots were the biggest disappointment. They weren't crispy, didn't taste seasoned and sort of fell apart until they became one big potato mess. My cousins and I ended up not finishing them. One of my cousins ordered the summer peach and corn salad, which she liked! Just a heads-up that it's only available after 11 a.m. My other cousin got the skillet, she mentioned feeling a little disappointed since it tasted a little dry and didn't finish her plate. However they both ordered the Curious George drink and LOVED it! The Cinnagave Shaken Espresso was also fantastic. Coffee is definitely something they do very well here and I can see myself getting again. Overall, the aesthetics are adorable and I could see this being a great date spot. The coffee was fantastic, the sourdough was amazing, but the rest of the food was just okay for us. That was a little disappointing because everything sounds SO good on paper. Maybe we just caught them on an off day. The prices are probably the biggest thing holding me back from coming back regularly. Spending $30-$40+ per person for breakfast isn't really in my budget right now, but if this is within your price range, you may have a completely different experience. When I review a place, I try to take the overall experience, personal taste and effort into account. For now, I'm leaving Zuzu's Petals at 4 stars because the effort is definitely there, and what isn't my cup of tea may be someone else's liquid gold. I'd still give them another chance in the future... after I get paid!

I've been coming to this place for 4 years now, surprised about the people posting reviews about prices ( while actually calculating % of upcharge this place has ) this is getting ridiculous, if you haven't shopped here I would definitely encourage you to do so, come and see everything with your own eyes, they were kind enough to allow me to take pictures around the entire store ( some showing prices too ) i wish i had more time to take pictures of all the " special " sections they have around every corner of the store, don't look at only 1 product you buy somewhere else and say they mark it up, they have over 150 items i found cheaper than most places ( that are family owned & operated ) people need to stop comparing this place to costco & total wines while they know it is owned by a family and they don't have 150 locations state wide and they don't buy in the same bulk! You don't like it? Simple, shop somewhere else and leave this nice/clean high end spot for us locals to shop at! read more

Fuck this place. There is a manager here with a grey beard, he tried to chase me out of the store and yelled and screamed at me after I reacted to him being so aggressive just because I didn't have my ID on me. I work on a ship and I didn't remember to bring it. I was excited to buy some special beers for my wifes birthday and I was only disappointed I couldn't buy them. I wasn't trying to give anyone a hard time. He got up in my face about it and so I told him to shut the fuck up. He screamed and yelled "who told you to shut the fuck up? who told you to shut the fuck up?" and he chased me out of the store. I think anyone would have got upset at him for misreading the fact I wasn't trying to get anything from them, I was simply like "oh man! Shoot!" I was only disappointed at myself for not bringing it. He came at me like I was giving him a hard time. I think the guy is a crack head or something and if I see him again I'm gonna fuck up his day. read more

I haven't been in since the official name/ownership change, but when it was still Stern's, they had an amazing selection. I'm a tequila professional (coining that term!) and they have a great amount of various and hard-to-find bottles. Well guess what? California Heights Market is like a mini version of Whole Foods. They serve a lot of quality and organic products + other amazing things you can find.. like aged meat, sushi, infused olive oils, a spice shop, bread, sandwiches, nursery and *drum rolls* beer on tap! Such a small market packed with so many great things AND they have upstairs and outside seating!! I can see parking getting a little tough here on busier days as it does seem to be in the busier part of Castro Valley with all the other eateries you can find outside of the California Heights Market. I can't wait to come back here because they do have a ton of cool organic beauty products that are great for those who have really sensitive skin but can get a little pricey!

Gave it a week. Went back and bought another pack of beers. Asked the guy " oh did you talk to the vendor ", nothing. Dude basically said "oh there's not much we can do". Uh yeah there is. Como the customer the $15 pack of beer he's trying to buy since the other he bought was no good. You call yourself a neighborhood market, maybe try acting like one. You're telling me if I bought a bottle of wine and came back and said "hey it was corked", you would do nothing? I will never buy here ever again. Place is over priced and the owners and employees simply do not get it.

When I purchased my drinks the older gentlemen was very friendly while making suggestions about future drinks (even more information about Buzzballs) and upon leaving, told me to have a good night.
