Cigar and Whiskey Bar with collection of rare and premium whiskey, bourbon Imported. The Maybourne pic credit
Henri V.

The Cigar and Whiskey Bar is located inside The Maybourne Hotel is OPEN! Formerly known as the Ten Pound Bar to former: The Montage Hotel. The Montage Hotel was acquired by the Maybourne group and the Ten Pound Bar closed due to the COVID pandemic. Upon entry, the aroma of fragrant cigar and cedar catches your senses. And the improves remodel is striking and maintains the elegance of a fine private club lounge to enjoy a glass of rare and exquisite whiskey from the Scottish highlands, premier japanese distilleries, as well as bourbons from Kentucky to pair along with the perfect imported cigar. The cigar humidor holds over 3000 cigars from the Carribean to Central America. In partnership with Cigar expert and founder 'Taz' is still at the helm. This swanky cigar and whiskey lounge maintains the outdoor balcony seating which overlooks Beverly Canon gardens. Absolutely thrilled this lounge has reopened, its super convenient for me as a resident at The Maybourne. This bar lounge is among the best place to relax enjoy for those with a palate for the $$$$ best. Recommend.

This is a great classy place to chill on a balcony with a Cuban and a glass of whiskey. Place makes you feel like a VIP at an exclusive cigar lounge without having to break the bank on being a member when you want the occasional night out.

What a great cigar bar. Amazing view over the courtyard and the highest-quality selection of liquor I've ever seen under one roof. Amazing cigars from over the world as well. If you are in the area, I highly recommend!

This cigar lounge is fantastic. I highly recommend a reservation before coming just to secure your spot. I was led by this gentleman in a suit, walking me up to the elevator/stairs and into this speakeasy-like room full of expensive and rare liquors and a velvet red living room that was cozy and intimate. It felt like I was in this secret VIP room which was excellent. There is of course a humidor full of the major brands such as Padron, Ashton, Fuente, Oliva, etc. they also have some Cubans! This one I was truly excited about. They had Partagas and Cohiba. You have to expect that 2oz pours and cigars are going to be up charged to 3-4x the rate. For example a simple pour of Eagle Rare (2oz) goes for around $30. My Cohiba cigar was exactly $93 so that alone was expensive. It is what it is and it's expected from a high end luxury spot in the middle of Beverly Hills. It's an experience with absolutely professional staff that know enough about the products and can assist you to your liking. I spent about 2 hrs on the Terrace and enjoyed my cigar. It was nice but definitely a once in a while thing whenever I'm in LA and wanting another rare Cuban. I will be back again!

It's the kind of place where you can take your time exploring different pours rather than rushing through drinks. The selection is impressive, ranging from familiar labels to smaller distilleries you don't see everywhere. The bartender was clearly passionate about the craft and offered a couple of suggestions based on what I usually enjoy. I tried a whiskey I hadn't heard of before, and it turned out to be a great recommendation with a smooth, layered flavor. What I liked most was the atmosphere. It felt social without being overwhelming, making it easy to have a conversation or simply sit back and enjoy the drink. The crowd seemed like a mix of locals and people who genuinely appreciate good spirits. The Phoenix stands out as a spot where whiskey takes center stage, but the environment remains welcoming and unpretentious. It's a great choice if you're looking to unwind with a thoughtfully poured glass in Beverly Grove.

I loved the vibe, the bartenders were really accomodating and the drinks + food were all delicious.

Me and my significant other came inside to grab a drink at the bar and we were denied service because her shoulders were showing. I'm in utter disbelief. It's not like we are coming to a Michelin star dining establishment. This was extremely uncalled for. Especially as a repeat customer. I've been coming here for over 10 years!! Safe to say I will never come back to this location or even South Beverly grill. Not to mention it's 90 degrees outside at 3pm. But at Honor bar we are denied a drink cause my Latina brown skinned girlfriend was showing shoulder. And for context it's not like she was wearing LA casual sports wear. She was in designer capris and a top with expensive jewelry on (I am a jeweler by trade) I am appalled. Here's the kicker. I'm Jewish and they asked me to take my hat off when I can not for religious purposes. This is discrimination on another level.

First, the atmosphere is fantastic. Everyone seems to want a table on the patio, but i found it a bit overrated. It felt crowded and loud, and there aren't really any views to justify the hype. The booths inside, especially near the bar, are cozy, stylish, and have a great vibe. I'd recommend sitting inside instead. The margaritas were excellent. We tried the classic and pink lemonade margaritas, and both were delicious. Definitely a highlight. For food, I had the mushroom fajitas, which were really tasty, and my friend had the filet mignon fajitas and ate every bite. The sides were less impressive. The esquites were mediocre, with an overly salty, almost gamey flavor that I didn't enjoy. The chips arrived warm, crispy, and perfectly salted, but the salsa tasted like canned tomato sauce. For a restaurant at this price point, I'd expect much better salsa. Our bill was around $250 for four margaritas, two fajita entrees, and the esquites. That felt pretty steep, particularly given the portion sizes and that one entree was vegetarian. But it is Beverly Hills. All in all, I'd go back. The atmosphere is fun, the margaritas are fantastic, and the fajitas were delicious. Just know you're paying a premium for the location.

I wasn't initially planning to go, but something told me to give it a try, and I'm glad we did! Upon walking in, we were greeted warmly, and I immediately loved the atmosphere. It's a classy, intimate lounge with live jazz, comfortable seating, and a sophisticated but relaxed vibe. We sat on the beautiful blue couch while waiting for a table, and the overall ambiance felt perfect for a date night. We had already eaten dinner, so we came specifically for cocktails. My partner ordered a specialty cocktail from the menu and really enjoyed it, while I opted for a classic Negroni, which was solid. Our server was very new, only on her second or third day, but she was warm, polite, and helpful when answering our questions. I appreciated her friendliness. The cocktail menu: I think there's a good foundation here, but I'd love to see a little more variety, whether through seasonal offerings or more adventurous flavor combinations. When I visit a cocktail lounge, I like to try what makes that particular establishment unique. While the drinks looked thoughtfully crafted, nothing on the specialty menu really called my name that evening, so I stuck with a classic Negroni. I don't mind paying $20+ for a cocktail when the drink and experience justify the price. However, at that price point, I want something that genuinely excites me. I wasn't interested enough in the menu to order a second drink. The biggest hiccup was the payment process. When we were seated and ready to order, we were asked for a credit card to place a hold. We weren't opposed to the policy, but things became confusing when my partner's card apparently wasn't going through on the restaurant's end, while his bank notifications showed that a $100 hold had been placed on his account. We were ordering just two drinks, so naturally, we were confused. We tried to work through the issue and asked if there was another way to handle the payment so we could move forward. Our server said she would speak with the manager, who would come over to assist, but the manager never came to speak with us. Instead, we waited approximately 20-25 minutes before finally receiving our drinks. We weren't trying to be difficult. We were on a date, wanted to enjoy a couple of cocktails, and were happy to cooperate with the establishment's policies. It just felt like an awful lot of friction for what should have been a simple transaction. By the time the drinks arrived, we were ready to move on and enjoy our evening. There was also an awkward interaction toward the end when our server asked whether we wanted separate checks. In isolation, it's a perfectly reasonable question, but given that we'd already navigated the payment confusion together, the timing felt a little off. Overall, I genuinely like this place. The atmosphere, live jazz, and classy lounge setting are the biggest selling points. It's the kind of place where you want to settle in, enjoy a good cocktail, and have a conversation. I'd love to see more creativity in the cocktail offerings, clearer communication around the card authorization policy, and more proactive follow-through when an issue arises. We would return because the ambiance really is that appealing. However, given the cocktail prices and our experience with the payment process, I'd be a little hesitant about making this a regular spot. Great atmosphere, beautiful live jazz, and plenty of potential. With a smoother service experience, this could easily become a favorite date-night lounge!
