The dates were melt in your mouth: the Happy Pizza, paired with garlic oil, OMG so good. Last, the Kings Hawaiian Bread Pudding, to die for. My bar keep, Vanessa, was attentive and kind. I go to Cork & Fork about once a year on a special occasion. The food has always been good and the decor and ambience is very nice. Unfortunately, my recent visit (on my birthday) ended up getting overbilled and a promised free dessert not given. I had received an email from Cork & Fork wishing me a happy birthday and that they would buy me dessert. This helped me decide to choose Cork & Fork for my birthday. We announced to the waitress first thing that it was my birthday so that was established. Yet, it was not until after we had already ordered and eaten dessert that she told us, "Oh we only give a free scoop of gelato for that. So, I'll just credit $3 off your bill." Well, getting a free dessert (range of $10-12) to a free $3 scoop of gelato is not the same thing. And that was not told to us until it was too late. We felt gipped and lied to. On my birthday. On top of this, we did not receive an itemized bill. The total seemed high for happy hour prices, but we were not apt to do calculations then and there after a romantic birthday celebration. The next day when calculating what we actually ordered and what we were charged, we were definitely overcharged by at least $20. Not to mention the free dessert lie which we were forced to pay for. We go to happy hour because we are not rich people and the small bites are supposed to be 20% off and wines discounted. And the allegedly free dessert. This was a deeply disappointing visit and though we like the food, it is hard to imagine going back there after being overcharged and overpromised. read more

This was our first time visiting Cork & Fork, and we will absolute be back. Everything single thing that crossed our table was incredible. I had the crispy Brussels (with manchego, bacon, and paprika aioli) and the filet mignon tacos (with sriracha aioli and pickled onions), and my partner had the Margarita pizza (omg) and the Luau Salad (YUMMMMM), and then we split their incredible sliders. We cleverly happily cleaned our plates and were perusing the menu for what we would get on our next visit. Also, huge shoutout to Caylee who was an incredible bartender and server. Found this cute little gem for a bite to eat while we were staying in La Quinta. Small plates and a small vibe with good drinks. We decided to each order 1 appetizer to share and our own entrees. We started with ahi poke nachos, bruschetta and Brussel sprouts. All of them were yummy. For entrees we chose sliders, tacos and lobster pasta. They were all delicious. We went with standard drinks like lemon drop and strawberry margarita the were not on the menu since they had a full bar. Nice cozy atmosphere, host and servers were very nice. My mom and I popped in here for dinner before a concert at fantasy springs and I was very pleased. We were able to get in pretty quickly despite the crowd and the staff were really accommodating. We ordered a handful of dishes, including the steak tacos, cauliflower, pork belly buns and a salad. The tacos and cauliflower really stood out for me. I can understand others' reviews that the portions are small, but I expected as much being this was a tapas-style restaurant. The space is cozy and well done except for the weird bright fluorescent bulbs they've put in the light fixtures. They had it decorated nicely for the holidays and there was even a man playing some live music which was a nice touch. All in all, I think this is a solid option if you want to eat some bites without overdoing it. read more

Four of us staying in Indio and hadn't tried Cork and Fork. It is higher end and not a sports bar. (There are a couple tv's around the bar if you want to watch something.) Servings are very nicely prepared but servings are small. Salmon was too small for the price but loved the way it was prepared. We tried the cauliflower appetizer and enjoyed it. Very different, very light breading and not spicy. Four of us each got a taste. Pasta was nothing special, and skip the blackened salmon tacos so you save room for desert! We stopped here last Friday night without a reservation. There were several people waiting for a table, but we were able to get seated quickly at the bar. The cuisine is mostly tapas/small bites, which suited us. The menu has quite a few selections. We had Scottish salmon and Poke nachos. Both were delicious. For a place that is listed as a wine bar, the selection was a bit Spartan. However, I found a great cabernet, and my girlfriend had a margarita. The staff, despite being very busy were pleasant and helpful. There was a solo performer singing in a corner. So glad we finally made a reservation... this is next door to our acupuncturist and i see the sign every time I'm there. Finally came last night and WOW... First... they go above and beyond for COVID safety. We sat out front in an open air tent, with heaters. The tables were spaced apart more than enough, everyone wore a mask unless eating. We felt very safe and commend them for their commitment to their customers. We wouldn't have stayed if any of this weren't true. Second... make a reservation... because it's not a huge restaurant and they are doing only outside seating... and limited hours... best bet! Third: the website (and maybe the menu?) says that they are staffed by students from their cooking school, Cooking With Class. It's right next door... and I'm going to assume that is why the menu is so creative, the prices are very reasonable and the FOOD.... outstanding. The service was very attentive without being overbearing... 5 stars! We had Bruschetta with our wine... BTW, if you like Merlot, order the Grayson Cellars... WHOA, a beautiful Merlot. My hubby had the "BabyCheeks" 'Pink' wine... also a big hit. We shared a grilled Blue Cheese Wedge Salad, something in their dressing that had a really special flavor... would love to know the secret. I ordered the Filet Street Tacos and my hubby had the Zucchini Pasta with Sausage. We both raved about the entrees. We were way to full for dessert but we will be back. They have many other wonderful sounding items on their menu including seafood and pizza... we are already thinking about what to eat on our next trip. I'll start off by saying the food is really good, We have been here 4 times and the food has always been really good but not good enough to overcome the horrible service everyone has a bad day that's why I waited to complete a review and the last time we were there it was borderline comical to the point both tables on each side of us had issues as well and the service became joke after joke the entire time we were there, Want your drink refilled good luck asked twice and it took 28 minutes to just get water when we were seated. They didn't take a drink order until we had been seated for 41 minutes. It continued to get with wrong appetizers delivered to 2 different tables our dinner delivered to someone else's table. Visited this afternoon for their "best happy hour in town" and while I wanted to love it, I didn't. The hostess who greeted us was far less then welcoming; grumpy and unfriendly. The bartender also seemed unhappy. We were hoping for a fun engaging time at the bar for a drink during happy hour but its small with six or seven seats so we got seated at a small table. Our waitress was a breath of fresh air, friendly and helpful. She told us all about the happy hour wines and food. I am not a fan of restaurants not posting prices and their non happy hour cocktail menu looked great but didn't include prices. IMHO that's a fail and lacks transparent. When I asked she nicely informed they are all $17.50. We had the happy hour hand shaken margaritas which were delicious at $10 each. I love supporting local businesses and will probably give them another try but this afternoon it felt like it was missing energy, ambiance and a soul. We were there for the New Year's Eve soft party and it was great. I hope it works out the kinks and improves on welcoming customers with sincere smiles. read more

unfortunately this was not the cork and fork I remembered. The chairs were uncomfortable as it sas simply a pad on a metal chair which did not match the elegance of the bar or kitchen. Also the Nonna pizza we were served was burnt and a chunk of the bottom fell off literallg crusted. Unfortunately the Proscutto Carpaccio was subpar and the Filet Mignot Tacos were overcooked. The restaurant has potential but the kitchen must do better with flavors and the the menu needs a revamp. Can't recommend. read more

My family and I have visited this restaurant before, mostly before covid. Unfortunately, it is somewhat of a figment of what it used to be. First, the environment is somewhat noisy, so if you're looking for a romantic or more quiet environment, this isn't the place. I recall they had outdoor seating, but it's not available at the moment. We began with some adult beverages, which were good. The problems began when my wife ordered the grilled Cesar salad. So, looking at their website (https://www.corkandforkwinebar.com/menu), it shows the salad as two portions for $13. Don't know what happened, but now you only get one portion. Not enough dressing as well. My salad (Luau) was good, however. I ordered the grilled cheese and there's a LOT more beef than cheese. I suppose some might like it that way, but it's GRILLED CHEESE, not grilled beef! Finally, we had the Lemon Tart and again look at this restaurant's website (https://www.corkandforkwinebar.com/menu#menu=dinner-menu&item=meyer-lemon-blueberry-tart). Ours was about 1/8" thick with very few berries. I call it false advertising, something that some businesses like to practice. When I received my order the portion was so small I thought it was a child's plate. It wasn't a cheap meal. If that's what you're serving I won't be going back there. It's not worth the money. Wish I had read the reviews a little closer. We went with a group of six during happy hour in November, and though we were sat immediately you could tell our group was "large" for this little spot. The food portions were small and not as sharable as we were lead to believe when ordering. The food was very good, but the service left a bit to be desired. I was happy to leave, we got a snack on the way home. I'd say if you're going with a date, it's great! If going with a group, keep looking for another spot. read more

Our party of 4 sat at a table a few feet away so didn't qualify for happy hour. Be sure to sit at the bar or at a night top for that. My luau salad was 13$ tasty served in a small bowl. A newish small plates wine restaurant in the suburbs. For me this place doesn't measure up to what I'm looking for in a wine bar. Yes they serve wines by the glass. Yes, they have a variety of small plates, but for me nothing we tried stood out and was jus middle of the road fare: -Goat cheese bruschetta -tasty, light -Thai shrimp cakes -just ok, nice sauce -Grown up grilled cheese (short rib, cheddar, tomato jam)-sounded better than it was-big hunks of beef -Nona pizza (sausage, shallots and rosemary)-nice crispy crust but overloaded with cheese. As for the wines, largely tertiary areas of California and the west coast. Nothing special or unique. To me it appears they were chosen to fit into a $10/glass price point. Nothing wrong if you live nearby-it's a decent place, but to me it could be so much more. Not worth driving out of your way-not a destination spot. read more

This was our second 5 Star experience at Cork & Fork. The restaurant is located in an unsuspecting strip mall next to a culinary student school they are associated with. There is plenty of onsite parking. The interior is trendy-decorated and small, so reservations are a must. Both times I made reservations, I requested 8 PM and got it. When you walk inside, there is a small host desk right next to the door. We waited about two minutes before being seated. There is full bar that seems to be very popular during peak times; it's tough to get two seats together. I started with a Mango Mule, which as very good. Water is served in a glass water bottle, which is nice. We ordered the Thai Shrimp Cakes, Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Scallops, and Fried Cauliflower. The Thai Shirmp Cakes were very tasty, the Brussels covered with bacon were incredible, the Scallops (three to an order) were amazing. The Scallops reminded me of a seasoned steak, and no sand was present...best scallops I have ever had. The Fried Cauliflower was good, but not after the Brussel Sprouts; these two items conflicted with each other for us; probably because of the light batter on the cauliflower. I would suggest starting with the Fried Cauliflower and follow-up with the Brussel Sprouts. Ultimately, we did not eat much of the cauliflower this time around, and the server took them off the bill. We finished up with a Sunday Sundae (dark chocolate brownie with salted caramel ice creme) and a Stone Delicious IPA. We had to wait several minutes for the dessert. The server indicated the first time they made it, it was not perfect, so they started over; awesome. The dessert was incredible. Speaking of the service, Emily C. did a great job for us.
