Happy Hours ! Indoor nice and cool.

YELP SHORT ANSWER: Yes, maybe leaning more on the locals hangout kind of place especially in the off season but now open ALL Year-Round, or that is what they promised their employees. They abruptly close down in July and after having people rearrange their lives to support the restaurant, they just closed and left some friends hanging out to dry. Sorry to see this happen but guessing we only got one side of the story. LOCATION: Located in Old Town La Quinta which offers many food and beverage options. Great parking all around but Fortun's has its own lot to the West of the entrance but wish they'd police it a bit more as it gets abused. FACILITY: Older, darker, and rather Palm Springs formal looking in the main dining area... Hello, Hello, I will eat in the bar area or outside in the bar area. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating for fine dining peak season. MENU: Upper scale options with steaks like 47.00, Salmon $38.00, Pasta $32.00 and pizzas.. FOOD PREP: Always well done, professional level plating and table deliveries. FOOD QUALITY: Excellent while we have ordered a few things we did not like, it was still prepared well. Not a fan of the Pizza here. LIBATIONS: This has been a VERY Fun bar area, hope they keep the Bartenders on call during the summer squeeze. This is the heart of the income for a restaurant so screwing up pricing, pours, or bartender awesomeness can take an establishment off the Go-To list quickly. WAITSTAFF: Has been excellent until we got the news they were all being laid off for a month, now two and a half months. Not an easy pill to swallow for waitstaff or local customers who have relationships with their employees. OVERALL VALUE: Expensive, not the best but has been one of the best in Old Town. Other option for us maybe as the deserts best season approaches. TIP: Not sure but a 4% surcharge will be added to all checks to help Fortun's with increased costs and living wages.

Went to Fortuns when a restaurant down the street was too busy and got a pleasant surprise. Host was very kind, we were seated fast, and the server Angela was a doll. Knew what we wanted almost before we even knew! We started off with the creole shrimp and burnt ends and they were cooked to perfection, which was something we didn't expect because for most restaurants out here the shrimp is either to dry or the burnt ends are to crispy. Both were delectable and delicious. Then we had the pizza and swordfish and it was a delight. High quality, along with great service. Will definitely be back soon!!!

I was recommended by a few people in town to delicious. It did not disappoint in the food category. The pizza had an amazing crust, the sauce was perfectly seasoned and the toppings were delicious. Devoured the whole thing!! The burnt ends were also quite delicious. Accompany with a delicious coleslaw, a sweet and savory cornbread and amazing sauces. We especially enjoyed the sweet honey mustard. Every bite was very flavorful. Gregg and Matt were both really friendly bartenders and had great personalities. Was fun to have the ice bar to set your cocktails on to stay chilled. They had cute little decorations set up on the bar in front of us. The sole drawback was a minor incident involving a hostess during a social gathering. While engaged with friends, I placed my feet on the chair opposite me, briefly obstructing the walkway. Upon a request to clear the path, I promptly complied. However, a different hostess approached me minutes later, reiterating the request, despite the absence of any obstruction. Subsequently, she communicated the issue to the bartender in my presence, who later confirmed her continued concern even after we relocated to the bar to ensure an unobstructed path. A more courteous and kinder approach in addressing the situation would have been appreciated, fostering a positive experience for both patrons and staff alike to make our visit more "special".

Dog friendly - outdoor patio I was fortunate enough to give this restaurant a try with a bunch of friends, with that being said you already know its "family style," food that is meant to be shared. The ambience is beautiful, wasn't sure why the 6 of us were seated in a booth rather than a flat top or even a round table, the location was in the far back corner, it was a bit odd but it worked out. Ordered Chop Chop (GF) - cousin to the antipasti, had all the same ingredients 5/5 Caprese Salad - Tomatoes, Fresh Burrata, pesto, balsamic, Evoo served with garlic bread. 5/5 Delicious burrata, paired well with the pesto, balsamic, evoo! Sweet Fennel Sausage and Pep Pizza - meaty and delish 5/5 Fig and Prosciutto Pizza - My fav dish, the saltiness of the prosciutto pairs well with the sweetness of the fig 5/5

The weather was perfect to have brunch out in the patio. Dining is available inside in the main dining room, or upstairs in their second dining room with a view. We started with a Bloody Mary with their house-made mix, the vodka was infused with Serrano chili. I thought it might be very spicy, but it was just right. 50% discount on Mimosas or Bloody Mary before Noon. Brunch is offered on Saturday and Sunday until 2pm. Enjoy breakfast or lunch items and a full service bar. A quick summary of their Breakfast menu: Grand Marnier French toast, Italian Omelet (veggie style or add Sausage for $4), Eggs Benedict. Lunch selections: Turkey French Dip, Tavern Burger, Cesar Salad, or Clam Chowder. The service was VERY good, we did not have to wait long to be seated, served or have our drinks refilled. Save room for dessert and tell 'em Rosemary sent ya!! NOTE: 4% Surcharge added on ALL items to pay for emoloyees' living wage. Consider this when dining here.

We dined on 1/15/2025. Hadn't been to Fortun's in sometime. Really enjoyed our dining experience. Had the early bird chicken pot pie dinner. It was fantastic. We also had the salmon, and it was also great. It was cool to see the retractable roof. I didn't recall that when we dined before. Todd R.

Burger was tasty but looked similar to a McDonald's quarter pounder. No lettuce no tomatoes and the sesame bun looked very plain.

Food is delicious!…read more Service was horrible. Mother's Day my husband and I made a reservation for 4 o'clock. We were told the only available table was a high top in the bar, no problem we like sitting in the bar. We walked in at 3:50 PM, two couples at the bar. no one at the high tops and two tables in the dining room were taken. The bar tender came over took our drink order, brought the drinks back. We ordered the brie cheese platter and also put in our dinner order. 2 Caesar salads, one with salmon, one with steak. At 4:20 we flagged down a waitress to let her know that we hadn't gotten our brie yet. And just to be clear, it wasn't packed and two couples that came in 15 minutes after us were already getting their appetizers. She quickly went straight to whom we assume was the manager, and he let us know that the kitchen lost our ticket and the brie would be right up. He also offered to take my eight dollar glass of wine off the bill. Brie came- 4;28, it was delicious. As we were finishing up the brie, the manager came over and asked if we'd like to order anything else.‍ I explained that in fact we had ordered when we ordered the Brie . Then they scrambled to get our salads made, with the steak and salmon. It's really sad that the Service ruined it for us to not return there because the food was good. They could have done so much more to fix the awful awful service that we got, but they didn't.

At some point in time, this will all be a very fancy destination resort with resort pricing. Until then, we love it at Silver Rock. FACILITY: Older but functional. Outdoor seating is awesome. Our server and service was pretty good. The atmosphere was ok and what you'd expect for that kind of place. What really disgusted me were ALL of the FLIES. It was gross. If you want to feel like you're camping or something then this is the place to go. We had to keep waving our hands around to shoo the flies away. I could not eat comfortably. I was so repulsed. The health department should go out there and with all of the Hantavirus in the news, they could really be a bit more vigilant. If they don't care about flies, what other bugs do they NOT care about in their KITCHEN?!?! Makes you wonder? I noticed they offer patio dining (in the 90 degree weather) and they kept the door propped open like permanently to let ALL of the FLIES INSIDE. The food was pretty good, most of it. We tried a lot of appetizers. The shrimp were good and flavorful but too small. The onion was way too salty. The chicken wings were excellent and the perfect amount of crispy on the outside while being juicy inside. The spinach dip was ok, but it was cold and super thick and a bit too salty. The outlaw ribeye was excellent. I loved the mashed potatoes. The simple side salad was excellent. The lobster tail was great. The rice pilaf, not so great. It was unlike any pilaf I've ever had with nasty herbs and vegetables inside. The desserts were excellent . I tried the salted Carmel cheesecake and the chocolate cake! The food is great, but bring a portable, retractable fly swatted, those portable pop up netted food covers for picnics and those little fly fans because you're going to need them here!
