But as soon as food was delivered we were swatting flies, making it impossible to enjoy our meal, or our birthday celebration. We asked for take out boxes and left early. This is a fun spot to bring friends visiting from out of town or for a special occasion. The outdoor seating area is a must as it's beautifully lit with twinkling lights wrapped around every tree creating a pretty setting in the evening. You can easily make reservations online which is super convenient. The service here is always excellent and professional, and the menu offers something for everyone. The wine list is solid and their cocktail program is impressive as well. Parking is easy too: there's free self-parking or valet service available. Overall, it's a wonderful restaurant, but definitely ask for a table outside to enjoy that gorgeous ambiance. Sitting inside is a bummer in comparison. read more

We were greeted warmly by the host team, but the experience declined immediately after being seated. Our server never properly greeted us and incorrectly assumed we didn't need a cocktail menu because I brought a bottle of wine (I'm a certified sommelier working in fine dining). We did want cocktails--and unfortunately, when they arrived, they were rancid and undrinkable. No one checked on them. My wine was poured into a glass that smelled like dirty socks. When I asked for a clean glass, the request was met with visible annoyance. Despite paying a significant corkage fee, service deteriorated to the point where I was pouring my own wine. We were aggressively rushed to order--asked roughly five times within four minutes. The steak tartare was not fresh, overwhelmingly mustard-forward, and poorly balanced. The Caesar salad was fine, but unremarkable. The pork chop, recommended medium, arrived in about five minutes and was badly overcooked, dry, and inedible. After waiting over 10 minutes for a check-in, we were told the kitchen had already closed and were offered a box instead. We asked for the dish to be removed from the bill. This felt like another case of younger guests being treated dismissively. Having spent years in fine dining, this was a deeply disappointing and frankly embarrassing hospitality experience. I ordered a filet Mignon it was terrible! The first one I received - the inside was raw, but the outside was way overcooked. I sent it back, received the second one completely raw and cold all the way through...inedible. To add insult to injury, the potatoes had zero taste and was like a solid dried block of potatoes. Green beans just OK but then again how do you mess up green beans? I am sick to my stomach that I spent $75 on a horrible meal. read more

Very pleasant outdoor eating area. The server Joel could have been a little more attentive. The wine and specialty drink menus were very good. My wife started with a very tasty cucumber martini and I had a prosecco quite good. We split a beet salad. It was excellent. My wife ordered the pork chop and I had the Norwegian salmon. The pork chop was over the top good. Unfortunately, my salmon was overcooked and dry. I was disappointed. Overall a nice evening but I should have sent my salmon back. read more

This spot seems to be bustling with activity! Thankfully, our friends made reservations based on recommendations, and we were greeted pleasantly and seated right away upon arrival. If you can, be sure to request patio seating-- that's where all the magic happens. The décor is lovely, beautifully adorned in lavender tones. The service was impeccable; our server was incredibly accommodating to our needs and made us feel relaxed, allowing us to catch up without any pressure to rush our orders. We started with drinks, of course. The lavender martini was delightful and strong, while the Lavender Spritzer was refreshing. For appetizers, we shared the delicious burrata and prosciutto, which was more than enough for the two of us. I ordered the 14oz honey-brined Kurobota pork chop, which was good but a bit overcooked for my taste. Meanwhile, my partner and one of our friends both ordered the short ribs with mashed potatoes, which were delicious and well-seasoned. Our other friend had the lobster ravioli, which looked amazing (though unfortunately, I couldn't try it due to my shellfish allergy). Lavender Bistro La Quinta... a Shockingly Poor Dining Experience Over the past three weeks we've reached out twice by email to the owner of Lavender Bistro and once by phone and email directly to the restaurant, but still haven't received a response! I'm sharing our experience here to alert others... A big issue was the " hidden water charge." When seated, we were asked if we wanted " sparkling water," and we clearly said "just normal water." Yet an extra charge appeared on our bill. When we questioned it, our waiter brought another server back to challenge us and she even pointed her finger at one of the ladies in our group, and loudly stated for all to here "she had ordered it". After going back and forth, we learned that even though we'd asked for flat (tap) water, they charged extra because it was poured from a clay decanter--something never explained to us. It felt misleading and deceptive. Makes you wonder how many other diners actually noticed this "extra charge" on their bill. The food didn't help--two halibut dishes were bland, and the pork chop was dry and overcooked. You expect far better when entrées are $55 and up. We were celebrating two birthdays. The handling of the desserts was equally disappointing--no acknowledgment, delayed service, and they still appeared on the bill. When we asked, the waiter he said Lavender's policy was to only provide a free cookie for birthdays (which never did arrive)! Finally, after we paid--leaving a 17% tip, which was lower than our usual 25%, due to the poor service and the quality of food -- Hard to imagine but the waiter literally followed us out into the bar area as we we're heading for the front door and loudly asked if we were "satisfied with the meal," apparently unhappy with the tip although very aware, we were unhappy with the entire experience. It was awkward, unprofessional, and the worst possible way to end an evening. We tried to handle this privately -- emailing the owner twice, with an additional email to the restaurant and later a follow up phone call -- but after weeks with no response, we felt it was only fair to share our experience so others are aware. Beautiful place. Terrible management, poor communication, and disappointing food. We won't be back. read more

Four of us dined at this restaurant on 3/15/26 at 6:00 pm. We sat outside under numerous lighted trees. The setting was outstanding, and the service was exceptional. Unfortunately, we were endlessly harassed by an excessive volume of aggressive flies. The flies destroyed our meals and the experience. We asked for a device designed to deter the file, but this had little to no impact. We suffered through the meal and departed quickly. I called Lavender Bistro to discuss the outcome of our dining experience. I received several excuses regarding the flies, but each fell short of satisfying our concern. At this point, I am left with no choice but to share our experience with several local acquaintances. We will not be returning to the Lavender Bistro, as numerous satisfying dining options exist in this area. read more

It has been a little over eleven years since our last visit. Wow, we were supremely impressed. The food, the service and the ambiance made it the perfect evening out. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and we even split the Butter Cake for dessert. This restaurant is now in my top two in the Coachella Valley. Next time, it will not take eleven years. It's been about a year since we dined at Lavender Bistro. Last time the only complaint we had was the calamari, everything else was wonderful. We dined at Lavender last night and were very disappointed. The only thing stellar about it was the atmosphere on their lovely patio and the service. Again, mistakenly, we ordered the calamari which should be renamed, calamari salad, mostly an Asian cabbage salad with a few pieces of calamari sprinkled in. We did complain to the waiter and he credited the appetizer on our bill. My husband had a bowl of mushroom soup, which was tasteless and I had the lobster ravioli. The lobster tail was good, but the ravioli with what was supposedly lobster bisque as the sauce was just not good. Sadly, we'll have to cross this one off our list of places to dine in the future. read more

I went with a friend this evening to experience a new restaurant that was highly recommended online. Unfortunately, our experience was so disappointing regarding knowledge from the waiter on our food and drink order. First , I ordered a Mojito & I asked if it had fresh mint. He seemed confused and asked clarification. There was one mint leaf, no fresh lime and in a short glass. Never have I had a mojito like this! Not drinkable! My friend said her wine seemed old or opened for some time, then, our food came I ordered the Louie salad that was an appetizer size that you had to look for the crab ! There were a few cucumber slices and a few small tomatoes. This is not a dinner entree. So disappointing! The other dish ordered was the risotto with veggies. She asked to prepare it Vega. Did it come vegan ? No! It had bacon and. Cream sauce. The waiter brought it back & it was still wrong. Was he a new waiter? He was nice but seemed unfamiliar with the foods and preparation. When customers go out to dinner, we want to enjoy not only the ambience, but good service and amazing food. Unfortunately, it was below average! We called over the manager to let him know about our experience. He did comp us, which is the right thing to do & we appreciate the offer. We really did want to pay for our drink but he said no need. Wow what a surprise! Four of us ate in the bar for the first time and drinks are only $8 between 4 and 5 o'clock and they are really good pours. Then they have a bar menu all night or you can also order from the main menu. It's still not cheap but it's excellent. I think better than the dinner we had here last time. The steak with fries, raviolis, and desserts were our favorites from the dishes we ordered. Of course the atmosphere is not nearly as nice as outside but who cares unless it's a romantic special occasion or maybe you are a snowbird who loves the warm outdoors. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the desert. I have been many times for many dinners, but stopped in most recently for Christmas dinner. What makes this place special is the beautiful ambience. You're able to sit under the trees and in a homely environment. It feels as if you are eating at someone's house, but professionally done. The food is also consistently good and they always have a lot of great options on the menu. They have a very large parking lot attached, otherwise you can choose to do valet right out front. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, but most people choose to sit in the heated patio under the trees, which is what we did for our dinner. Our server was very polite and very attentive, even though it was extremely busy for Christmas service. They had live music playing, which was a really nice touch for dinner. For Christmas dinner it was a prefix menu with a few choices of each of the three courses. I started off with the Lobster Ravioli which I've had a few times and it was very good. I chose the Cabernet-Braised Short Ribs for my entrée and thought it was fantastic. The portion size is very large and I loved the crispy onions. Others at our table ordered the turkey dinner, which honestly was the best choice because it was some of the best turkey I've ever had. Finally for my dessert I chose the Peach Cobbler and was very satisfied. They did not do small sized portions, which was a nice surprise. I have been to Lavender many times in the past and will continue to be back many times in the future. I would recommend to anyone looking for a special dinner. read more

Super disappointed. I've been here before and had an amazing experience, but this visit was just bad. The French fries and calamari were undercooked and soggy, and both of our filets came out cold. The potatoes were hard and completely inedible. Our server was very nice, but extremely slow--we ended up being there for almost 3 hours for no reason. Terribly disappointing! This restaurant has such a nice ambiance & great food; too bad their atrocious service prevents customers from enjoying it. We had an early 545pm reservation, the restaurant was only about 75% full. We were seated right away & greeted by our server; then she did not return to our table again for almost 15 mins. After asking one a runner to tell her we'd like service, she walked by us without any acknowledgment so, we decided to leave. We had dinner across the street in Arnie's, where they actually serve you instead of ignoring you. Here's the saddest part of this crap experience, which we've had here before with a larger party, when we couldn't just walk out. Lavender Bistro will ignore this review, or just give it lip service, because they've calculated they will still be full most of the time anyway. My recommendation is don't let them do it! Find another place worth your money & time. read more

Our stay in Palm Springs was complete after we found lavender bistro lavender bistro is owned and chef by Michelle. This lovely bistro has an elegant garden with twinkle lights in it. Trees are way to wear superb and the menu is fabulous. All fresh fish, beef, salad, salad, and unique dessert we completed our meal with a bottle of Camos and was served a large glass of this very delicious wine and I ordered the beef rib which was so tender. You could cut it with your tongue my companion ordered a fabulous fig salad with fresh nuts, and fruit. The portions were large and could be shared or taken home to finish off. We ordered our butter cake to go so we could eat it back at our hotel the Château the garden was shaded with beautiful trees that were lit with tiny. Sprinkle lights and the place was mobbed reservations are required so I was to save space because it is very busy. They're open Tuesday through Sunday from 5 PM to 9 PM. We stopped to send Michelle the safe, the chef and owner for the exquisite service and delicious food that we ate we really enjoyed our meal. The prices will commence with the type of food we ordered and we enjoyed ourselves very much. My husband and I came to Lavender Bistro for Thanksgiving dinner. When we arrived, they led us through the patio only to be told another server had sat someone at our reserved table. We were led to the back by a fence and service table. The poached pear salad had rancid dressing. When we mentioned it to the assistant she said it was too busy to do anything about it. When we told the waiter he replied, "no one else has said anything". They were both uncaring and dismissive. The pecan praline pie was extremely hard, was barely cuttable and uneatable. It was a disappointing experience. We ate there a few years ago and had enjoyed it then. The ambiance was lively on the main patio-not so nice by fence and service table. read more
