Tack Room and Polo Pizza were twice a week stops in the past. The F10 management takeover has been underwhelming so far. Tried Tack Room twice this week. Staff under trained, out of stock on several canned beers, no beer taps, full high price for 12oz cans as most restaurants charge for 16oz draft. Added a "kitchen fee" percentage to bill??!! Food was great one night, not very good 2nd night (same dishes!). The local vibe is gone. Did not even have Amazon Prime on tv for NBA playoffs. "Kitchen Fee" but too cheap to stock the beer on the menu or provide NBA playoffs at the bar! read more

We were so excited to have the Tackroom return. The staff is very friendly and though only open a week or so they did fairly well. The food was average (burgers and ribs) a bit pricey for the what we hoped would be the "local pub" kinda place. Wine by the glass was also pricey ($13.00) for a not great pour. Other complaints are the wooden chairs that have no cushions!! Beyond uncomfortable!!!! The new owners might look back at the success the Tackroom enjoyed at it's prime when families and locals waited happily to be seated. We will go back with high hopes. read more

Went to this place on last Sun. because it was supposed to have music, which it did not. Upon arrival, we noticed the gates closed, manage to get entry by driving through the entry next door, and through a back service entrance passway. Found the parking lot littered with trash, papers, debris and many turned over large boxes of trash. Looked like an abandoned homeless encampment. Noticed about 6 to 8 derelict automobiles in the parking lot which apparently were actually customers. We left immediately and went to Local's on 50th which is a far better venue. Very disappointed, since this spot was always a place we visited several times throughout the years. Apparently, the new ownership is not doing this place any favors, since they already own other restaurants and bars in the P.S. area , they do not have enough time to devote the needed attention this locale deserves. They were advertising online that they had just reopened, but when we arrived, we were told they were closing hours before their posted closing time. On top of that, the staff was rude. Waited an hour to be seated to find half the place empty. We were pretty excited to try some place new with my family but the menu on the website was completely different and when we left voicemails for rsvp they informed us that they didn't have a working phone so don't go off anything from website. New menu is def not the same as online, no kids menu... we ordered basic things, I ordered a burger cooked through, it was red in middle and cold and also just broken into 4 pieces in the bun. Husband's sweet potato fries were cold. They ran out of French fries. My dad's tuna melt was not served as described. We wanted support and check it out, so we headed over for some dinner. We pulled in with others only to have a hostess turn us away. "Sorry we close at 7:00". The time was 6:55 on my phone. First that's the most ridiculous set of hours for a restaurant/bar and secondly, any restaurant I've ever been to typically takes guests up until closing knowing. This local bar/tavern has been a mainstay here at the polo grounds for years. Good food and great atmosphere where the local families could enjoy a meal together. Lots of TV's for sports, bar stools with saddles for seating and a huge patio with a stage where bands would play on Friday or Saturday nights. Unfortunately it has been closed for a short time and we were all excited when it recently opened back up. We couldn't have been more disappointed as to what we saw the new owners (who have a number of other restaurants...Cheekys in Palm Springs) have changed. This is not a tourist restaurant like their other restaurants...it is local, for the polo crowd, the Hunters and Jumpers crowd etc. They removed most of the tables and chairs, the TVs, they closed off the patio to half of what it was, but here are more changes: No Happy Hour...wine is $12/$13 a glass No kids menu...and nothing on the menu for kids. They charged $2.00 for a second little cup of ranch dressing. They charged us another 2% kitchen service fee... We had a side of onion rings which were ok... Order of French fries for the kids Order of a five bean dip which unfortunately was tasteless And a hamburger for $21.00. Total before tax with the extra charges was $120.00. Then tip on top of that. I did order a salad that arrived in a wooden bowl that was 4 to 5 inches high...that was silly because you felt as though you were eating out of a trough. Poppy seed dressing was suppose to be on it, however they must have measured that out with a thimble because I couldn't taste it. So now we are hearing comments/complaints like this from other locals so I decided to do a review to share our experience. Why is this place so relaxing to me? Sundays in the winter it is a lot of fun. YELP SHORT ANSWER: yes, even if you don't get the horse world or polo, this is a family fun location especially if there is a match happening. LOCATION: Located behind the gates of the Eldorado Polo Club off of Monroe Ave 51. Lots of parking. These are huge Polo grounds, really huge I say! FACILITY: Nothing is new, this has been here a while and it is all really nice but not modern or fancy. To me seems perfect for what it is. Excellent outdoor seating and kind of a dark indoor seating area with a lot of patina and history in there. MENU: Large, lots of choices you'll find something for sure. FOOD PREP: Well done. FOOD QUALITY: Excellent, everything we've enjoyed here has been great. WAITSTAFF: Very nice, not really sure who is who but it all works. After a long absence I met friends for dinner and drinks. The atmosphere is still great. When the weather is nice it's great to sit on the patio. The new menu & food were very disappointing. I used to love the kobe burger, the nachos and the cob tower. None of those items are available on the new menu. The menu is strange and the choices are meh. I had the burger & fries. The fries were good but the burger was over cooked and dry. Not a good food experience and very expensive. I'm not sure I'll go back. Sad because this used to be a great local spot. read more

Arrived at 8pm and we were met with the hostess telling us (before we entered) that the kitchen closed for the night and that they're not letting anyone in for the rest of the night. My fiancé and I just wanted to grab a quick drink and didn't want any food but we were still met with an unwelcome goodbye. If your hours say you close at 10pm and you tell us we can't even come in at 8pm, then I don't even know how you anticipate for customers to come in. We just wanted a drink and weren't even hungry. We have been going to this restaurant for years while we are on vacation in Indio. We had no idea it had sold. When we arrived on a Saturday night there were lots of tables available. Our first clue to leave. We were seated in about 15 minutes. When our server brought us menus we reviewed them and were saddened by what we saw. All of the good choices were gone. Beer and wine menu was very limited. We ordered drinks and dinner. Dinner was hamburgers and fries and they were cold, When we commented to our server she apologized and offered to take them back to the kitchen and warm them up. We declined. She offered to bring us new fries, we declined. Normally live music on Friday and Saturday - none! Overall experience was bad. We usually go there 10 times while in Indio. Not any more. I am posting a grade of "4" to not mess up their current average score of "4". My friends and I visit the Coachella Valley regularly. The Tack Room is one of the places that we visit when we are in town. This past weekend, we were surprised to find the gates closed. There was signage saying that the Tack Room was "temporarily closed". In over twenty consecutive years, we've never encountered this. I know that business is very slow during the late summer. I think it would have been more comforting if they posted "closed for the season". (If in fact this is what is going on. I have been waiting for the Tack Room Tavern to reopen since it was closed for months. I guess they got new ownership and finally opened up again. Me and my husband went for dinner. First before we entered I noticed they had a B rating already. My husband wanted a burger and fries with his beer. We both ordered that because they always made a good burger. This was not it. First, it was packed inside so we sat outside and while it was hot it was tolerable but the flies were everywhere. Hard to enjoy your meal. They had no fans outside which they badly needed. I ordered burger with tater tots only to find when my food came that they were out of those but their fries were delicious. The burger itself was super dry, over cooked and not too much flavor and too much bun. They need a thinner one. I asked for salt only the lid was not tightly closed and half of it landed on my fries. The waitress did send me a new batch so that was good. The second part of their restaurant was the polo pizza place which was not opened as it will become another little restaurant which disappointed me because they had delicious pizza and now that is gone. So overall it was a disappointing experience. We paid just under $100 for a simple meal that was disappointing. read more

What a wonderful experience! Look no further to find a dog friendly restaurant in Indio with great service, ambiance and food. Looking to eat light, we had a chicken salad and lettuce wraps. But, the burgers and pizzas looked amazing. Next time! Our waiter, Daniel, was very friendly, offering water and a snack to our dog. He also surprised us with a delicious lemon dessert. So much for eating light. We demolished it! Daniel recommended checking out the El Dorado Polo Club's Cantina which was also a cool experience. Tack Room Tavern has easily become one of my new favorite restaurant and bars in the desert. Located off the polo fields there is plenty of signage and it's easy to find. There was plenty of parking and neon lighting guides you into the main check in station at the restaurant. The Tack Room has a large lovely covered patio but with the cool evening weather we opted for inside seating which was also pretty cool. The inside is a dark polo country bar and there are some booths and tables. We loved that near the bar area they had seated made out of saddles, pretty cool. The bar area had a sexy cowboy masculine vibe and the outer table area was more family dining. Loved all of the polo decor throughout the restaurant. The Tack Room has an extensive menu filled with so many bomb looking options, it was hard to pick between the soups, salads, burgers and mains. I had heard rumors that their appetizers and salads / smaller bites were where it was at compared to their main dishes so we took that into account when ordering. The food was 5/5 A+ seriously amazing bites here! I didn't find a dish I didn't like. Here's what I got: Pozole Soup: 5/5 - Just like back home, super authentic delicious pozole. Flavorful red broth, hominy, onion, and all this was a great starter soup. The side of chips were also fresh and a nice paring. Cob Salad: 5/5 - One of the best salads I've ever had. I always say I'm a saucy gal and the secret to a good salad is having a lot of dressing (maybe this isn't the healthiest but we all know what makes a salad better haha). The dressing was delicious and the lettuce was fresh as were all of the toppings. I paired it with grilled chicken which made the salad extra hearty and delicious. My friend got steak in hers and it also looked super good. Trust me, get this salad you won't be disappointed. Onion Rings: 5/5 - Just a delicious beer battered onion ring. No frills but super tasty and the perfect cheat meal appetizer to split with some friends. Also the portions were generous and the side of spicy aioli ranch dip was bomb. The cocktail on the other hand was a miss, but I'll give them another shot. I ordered the watermelon Margarita (which was pricy mind you) but it was really terrible. It tasted like gasoline and like the cheapest tequila was used. I love a stiff drink, I promise I'm not a weenie but it wasn't drinkable. I should have sent it back but I'm too nice. Instead I asked for some lime juice on the side which helped a tad, I just chugged it and made a mental note to try a different cocktail next time. Lastly the service was decent for how busy they were. Probably a 4/5. Our waitress was super lovely and sweet. Kind smile and overall did her best. Again, I do think the crowds were just a bit overwhelming and demanding as she was thoughtful to check in with us as much as she could, sometimes noting the bar was backed up etc. we did have to ask for waters twice and little things like that, but again overall the service was friendly and good vibes. The food was just super stellar here that I have to come back. I also dug the atmosphere and decor. This restaurant is on the pricy side for what we're more simplistic dishes but the quality of the food was well worth it so I can tell you I will be back soon and with some friends! read more

This place is a great find. Whenever I have to fly out of TRM or PSP, this is a must stop. Tonight my colleague and I sat at the bar. The motif is cool with a warm inviting feel. Our bartender was super nice and I should take the time to get her name. I went with the California Chicken Sandwich. It was downright yummy. They put it in what seems to be a cross between baguette and French bread. The chicken breast was perfectly cooked. If you think I'm going to make some adolescent joke about beautiful breasts, I'm way too mature for that. Last trip I had the Au jus (god bless you) and it was great. Their side salad is a mix of greens, tomatoes and diced cucumber. Super delish. Pilots love good chow. This place has it. read more

We spent the weekend in Indio at a soccer tournament located on the Polo grounds. There really wasn't much food offered so we were pretty happy to find the Tack Room located right onsite. We didn't have reservations, but the wait wasn't bad. They have tons of out outdoor seating available and all were nicely shaded. Our server was friendly, and recommended the soup of the day which was a red pork pozole. I ordered a Manhattan, the pozole and a cobb tower. The Manhattan was nicely poured, super refreshing after a day full of sun. I enjoyed the cup of pozole. It had a decent amount of pork, was loaded with hominy and topped with cabbage and onion. They served it with a bowl of crunchy tortillas chips. The star would have to be the cobb tower. This thing was tasty! Loaded with crisp lettuce, giant chunks of blue cheese, turkey, fresh tomatoes, corn, bacon and avocado. Everything was tossed with ranch dressing and piled high into a tower. Our group also ordered a giant lettuce wrapped burger with a side salad and the french dip with crispy whisky onion rings. Everything was delicious and we all left happy and full. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday night. Another gem in Indio. Located right off the parking lot, service was great and very helpful. Had appetizers, which consisted of steak bites and ceviche. The steak was delicious, going to be a repeat. Drinks were cold and delicious. Great for a warm evening. The location had a band, which was good.
