Love this place! Food, service, ambience all great! Prices are on the high end of reasonable.

We went here for dinner with a large group of-- they were quite accommodating with seating us inside, and the service was very attentive. The food left a little to be desired, though. The garlic bread pictures with the small tin of dipping sauces, which was recommended by our server, was $17 and quite a small portion considering it was just bread and sauce. The garlic bread was good and somewhat cheesy, but definitely not worth the price. We had well-prepared main dishes, including the enchiladas and eggplant parmigiana. This restaurant reminded me of a BJs or Cheesecake Factory, only with higher prices with no increase in quality. It is perfectly fine for a dinner in a pinch but I would probably not go back. The booth we sat in also had crumbs on the seat when we arrived. The overall ambiance is upscale but there were some details such as the number of plates and water glasses served and the little cleanliness pieces that left something to be desired.

    Margherita Pizza

No complaints about the food quality and taste. I took my order to go. The Margherita pizza is pretty good. The crust is paper thin. Cheese and toppings loaded to the edge. I had to reheat each slice individually in a frying pan to crisp it up again, the crust is so thin, it can get soggy rapidly. I did feel that ~$24 with tax and tip for a 12" pizza is a little plush.

    Margherita Pizza so good!

Service is awesome, we sat at the bar and had an awesome experience. Food was super great and it feels very southern, coastal Italy vibes.

The menu might be considered small however plenty of excellent choices for everyone's palate. We started with martinis Aviation gin for me & Ketel 1 for my hubs complete with bleu cheeses olives served tall & verrry cold. Our appetizer choice, the deep fried artichokes served with a creamy tasty aioli nicely presented however a bit over salted for our tastes, hence the 4.5 vs 5 stars. We came in to Italica wanting pasta the Bolognese with wild boar/fennel sausage arrived practically overflowing from the bowl, easily could have served 2 or possibly an appetizer to share at the table. My choice the Spaghetti Alio Olio presented bucatini pasta with bread crumbs & pecorino cheese ~ OOOOH MY, sooooo DELICIOUS my bowl was inhaled. Mid meal we ordered the prosciutto ~ fig jam flatbread just perfection the jam adding sweetness in every crunchy bite. To full from our appetizer & pasta we skipped dessert this trip but we'll be back!!!!!! as the drive to Indio from Palm Desert is maybe 30 min (+\~) easy & plentiful FREE PARKING be sure to look for the all stainless patchwork door for entry, once inside relax & enjoy the vibe.

The place wasn't busy and we were seated inside right away. Water, Chips and Salsa was brought out right away. We were here with another couple. They ordered special Chips that came with Salsa, Queso and Guacamole. They shared it with us and it was quite tasty. My wife and I shared a bowl of Chicken Tortilla Soup and a Southwestern Salad. Both were hearty and very good. Our friends share an order of Tacos and they enjoyed them. I would recommend The Cantina.

LOCATION: kind of hidden away, but once you know it, you will come back. It's been a bit confusing over the last few years but now they are in a really good place I think. FACILITY: very very casual, clothing is required however.. but pretty much wear what makes you happy cuz no one cares if you're wearing Prada or Dickies. MENU: Limited, all very good. FOOD PREP: as you would expect, very nice and an upgrade from years past with help from a few friends from the neighbors... lots of transition happening with ownerships, turf wars, and Coachella festival. FOOD QUALITY: very good... LIBATIONS: very good but a bit on the $$$ side. I had just returned home and was airport tired so it was all worth it and I got my medication. WAITSTAFF: as good as it gets, fun, not stuffy or fake which is really nice. Do you hear me The Grill on Main. OVERALL VALUE: Not inexpensive for sure but well worth it, we stay 3 hours and enjoy almost dancing... TIP: pick your times, call ahead I believe they still take reservations.

Kiki's Sala: salanova lettuce is unusual but tasty -- like arugula without the bitterness. This is a large portion which you could share with four people as an appetizer. Sugar Snap Pea pizza: unexpected flavors with snap peas, mushrooms, & stracciatella. Table was divided on whether this worked. Cacio e Pepe: this version uses bucatini and is a little creamier than the classic. I ate it all regardless. Grilled Avocado: the name ignores that it includes fried artichokes as well. Satisfying and not too garlicky. Another large portion. The only disappointing item was the Polenta -- a little bland. If you get the Chicken Parm, you only need a half portion. Jack says the best two dishes are the Caesar and Linguini & Clams. They fly in Juniors cheesecake from NY! Full bar, attractive ambiance, and well trained staff. Go to Kiki's.

What really impressed us was the owner making the rounds to personally greet each table--it added such a personal, heartfelt touch that you don't often see. As for the food, it absolutely delivered. The chicken parm was perfectly cooked with rich, comforting flavors, and the hanger steak was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. They also have a full bar now, so there are many more options for libations while you eat. We arrived right on time for our 6PM reservation and we were seated at the outdoor table we pined for. The weather and the setting definitely started this dinner with a positive outlook. We were a party of five, with three of us ordering different Taco alternatives. I requested the Shrimp, my wife asked for the Salmon and our daughter selected Filet Mignon. The flavor of all the Tacos was out of this world, as the ingredients and the sauces involved within those corn tortillas meshed together magically. I will say that paying $20 for two small tacos that weren't PACKED was a little bit of a RIP. The other two guests in our party went for two different types of Pizza. They both boxed a slice or two to take home. As sides, we had two orders of Truffle Fries and one of the Brussel Sprouts. Both were phenomenal but the veggies could have been more plentiful. To go with our dinners, my wife and I brought our own Meadowcroft GSM that generated two surprises for us. One was how great it accompanied what we ingested, the other was the $30 corkage on the bill. To round out the night out, my daughter shared a Sundae-Sundae with the other guests. Being able to get out to see new restaurants once a month is a gift, and most of what we experienced was a HUGE thumbs up. We just felt like what was provided in a casual setting was a little overpriced. This will not be on a future "to do" list.
