Natural wine and a moody vibey spot
    Carrie M.

This place was almost too cool for me...like, the kind of underground vibe where people wear creepers and sport thrifted and handmade clothing, while sipping natural wine and bobbing to an impressive setlist on vinyl. It's low key, small, vibey, and the music is impeccably curated. A great experience and can't wait to go back.

Cute bar in the new revitalized Oasis St in downtown Indio. Stopped here after food truck Fridays on Miles St. Lots of drink selections at great prices, and the DJ was great playing early house music. Check out their Instagram, they have various themed music nights for every taste!

Such an insanely cool spot to have local in Indio. Amazing sound system and great selection of beers/wine. Check out their calendar for music selections to pick the best night for you to stop in.

Rosemary was awesome! Such a good vibe, great wine, great dj, and everyone was so nice! Love it 10/10 reccomend.

Vibes are impeccable -- exactly what this area needed. The wine is fab, and the record player music gives it such a cool feel. The lighting is nice and dim, super easy to feel cute and comfortable here (lol). It's elevated the whole vibe of the area for sure. I don't go out often, but this spot makes it easy. Definitely a new favorite.

Pretty cute place! Music was nice and lots of familiar folks from the art scene in the desert. I enjoyed the the short list of alcohol they had a couple of wines 6-7 and a few beers on tap Id say maybe 3-4. My friends and I decided to check out the scene when Vasquez was playing. We ordered a bottle of middle child and rose they were both friendly and enjoyable to the music. A bottle was around 35 and glasses were 8 bucks. I'd say we got 6 cups from the glass if you fill as much as they do for their cups. It's a generous pour but a smaller cup. I recommend ordering and hanging out a few minutes if there's no seats it'll clear up shortly and you can grab those seats. We stood a little then took over a quarter section of the lounge. Not too loud we all heard one another but also had tunes in the back. My only recommendation or concern was my coat which isn't big since we're in the desert and winter is like a month. unfortunately took a seat up with our coats but no complaints really. Chill indie hipster place makes you forgot your on miles street or even in Indio.

I was excited to try it since I hadn't been back to this location since it was Tu Madres, which I was a big fan of. The menu looked promising, and having live entertainment was definitely a major plus. Unfortunately, our overall experience was a bit underwhelming. We made a 6:45 p.m. reservation through OpenTable and requested a high-top table. We ended up being seated at a standard four-top next to the restroom. While it wasn't our preference, the restaurant was busy, and I completely understand that it's not always possible to accommodate every seating request. One thing that was disappointing was the beer selection. The menu advertises craft beer, but under the "Craft & Canned" section it mostly listed domestic staples like Coors Light and Michelob Ultra. There were only a few craft options on draft, and unfortunately the ones our group tried weren't particularly enjoyable. The guys ended up leaving them unfinished and ordering cocktails instead. We ordered the French 760, which unfortunately missed the mark as well. It was overly sweet, and the sugar rim melted down the glass, leaving the stem sticky and messy to hold. The appetizers were actually one of the highlights of the meal. Both the fried artichoke bites and the fried cauliflower were flavorful and well prepared. Service is where the evening started to unravel a bit. After our appetizers arrived, our server didn't return for about 25 minutes. When he finally came back, he asked if we were ready for the check. We had to remind him that we were still waiting to order our entrees. Once we placed our order, the food arrived quickly. Of the entrées, the Steak Frites was excellent and easily the standout dish of the evening. Unfortunately, both the Pasta Pesto and the Pasta Vodka were disappointing. The penne was overcooked, and both sauces were very bland and lacked the flavor we were expecting. The true highlight of our visit was the live entertainment. This was our first time hearing Jessica Michelle perform, and she was phenomenal. While playing the keyboard, she effortlessly covered country favorites spanning multiple generations. Her voice was absolutely beautiful, and she created such a fun, welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be keeping an eye out for her future performances. We're not writing off The Local on 50th. I spent over 20 years working in the restaurant industry, from family-style restaurants to fine dining, and one thing I learned is that every restaurant can have an off night. It happens. There was enough potential here that we'd be willing to give it another try and hope our next experience better reflects what this restaurant is capable of.
