This place was lousy. The meat is mystery meat. The meatballs had this rubber texture. The chicken was not chicken it has a tan color with a shredded texture. The sliders were full of filler. The sorbet was not fresh it had a dull color and tasted like it had been in the freezer for months. We will never eat there again. At those prices the food should be of better quality. read more

We originally visited this restaurant when they first opened and purchased a cook book because we love to eat and make the goat cheese bruschetta. We decided to try it again tonight despite several negative reviews about the service, quality of food, and wait times. Our experience was very positive. The food was delivered at the same time in about 15 minutes. Marlene was helping us and was very friendly and all the staff checked on us frequently to make sure we had what we needed and didn't need anything else. The food was amazing as usual we were not disappointed. Please go there and decide for yourself. This is gem. read more

This was our second visit to this restaurant but the first visit to their new facility which is beautifully decorated in an Art Deco motif. Gorgeous! When we visited their last location, we had a great time. We were at happy hour and sat in the restaurant (not at the bar). We ordered every delicious thing on the menu. I couldn't wait to try their new location. We walked in at 4:30 and the place was empty since it was so early. We had a party of six and wanted to enjoy happy hour. Well, you had to sit in the bar but there were no tables for a party of six in the bar. They seated us at a table that was basically in the bar but not considered "bar" seating so they would not let us order from the happy hour menu. The bar area and the area where we sat was essentially EMPTY and it was 4:30. I was pretty surprised they wouldn't just say, "sure, here's the happy hour menu". So instead of having an $8 glass of wine, I'm now drinking a $16 glass of Albarino. It was a very nice wine. Not sure what they were serving for happy hour but I'm sure I would have enjoyed that too. We ordered a bunch of different things. Trout dip, tuna nachos, cauliflower, vegan dumplings, Brussels sprouts, filet tacos, ravioli, and another pasta dish. The quality of the dishes was very good but the flavors were not particularly memorable compared to our experience in their other location. What was memorable was the $300 + bill we paid and their reluctance to accommodate us. We will sadly not be returning there any time soon! read more

Came here with my friends that I was vacationing with and was hitting up spots that weren't exactly a miss, but were not hitting our expectations. Thankfully we found a good dinner spot. Service was splendid, we sat outdoors and though it was cold we were surrounded by heaters which was great. The food and drinks were tasty, but nothing too too amazing to where I can give this place 5 stars, but still, hit the spot with drinks and great company. This was the first time trying Cork & Fork and it was a fun experience. They have live music sometimes during dinner and I've heard they hire a DJ on the weekend nights. The staff seemed pretty overwhelmed or possibly new, as our waitress forgot about some of the items we ordered and we'd need to remind her. The portions were definitely small but good! read more

What happened ~Shrimp Cakes - chewy, hard exterior & bland ~Cauliflower - needed sauce or they forgot ~Chicken Pesto Pizza (daily special) - 1 st time it came to the table it looked a soup bowl. 2nd pizza was still so wet, it wasn't edible. Waived waitress over, because no one comes to your table to check. Told her this was 2nd pizza sent back and we were finished. Her comment was "Did you want dessert". No, I wanted dinner. After sending a pizza back twice you would think a manager might want to intervene. Obviously no supervision. After receiving our appetizers a food runner drops off brussel sprouts to our table without saying a word. At 8:30 they were mopping the floors and we were still finishing our wine and cocktails. Salad was underdressed and the spinach leaves had super long stems. Really difficult to eat. This was a surprise dinner for my aunts birthday. We wanted to try somewhere different and I came upon a recommendation for this restaurant in Eater magazine. The food was good. We ordered several appetizers including the local date plate, the goat cheese bruschetta and the Ahi Sesame Poke Nachos. My faves was the dates and goat cheese bruschetta. We ordered two cocktails and a glass of wine and we left happy. A few things I would have preferred to be different. This is mostly about the ambience. The service was great and they were very accommodating. however, for me the restaurant lacked warmth. Between the music and the decor and the seating, I never really felt comfortable. I couldn't tell if they were trying to be hip dance club or high-end restaurant. This was my first visit while I was in town for an event. The space is so cute inside, I love the old Hollywood feel to it. We ordered a couple cocktails to begin, The What Happened? And The Hot Girl Summer which we both enjoyed. Next on the menu was the goat cheese bruschetta and Thai shrimp cakes to start. The bruschetta was so delicious I loved the tart goat cheese with the bright balsamic and the roasted tomatoes. My boyfriend was surprised that it was his favorite out of all of our choices. The shrimp cakes were tasty as well with a nice spicy kick from some spicy mayo. For entrees we tried the short rib ravioli and Nonno pizza. While we both enjoyed the ravioli we agreed the pizza left a little to be desired. As full as we were I have a voracious sweet tooth so I ordered the kings Hawaiian bread pudding. I loved the banana on top with the whiskey caramel. Throughout our meal the server as well as host made sure our table was cleared of anything we didn't need and kept us happy. Ambiance was great and bartender was our waitress and she was amazing. Upon entering, no one was at the door and we had to wait a while. There were no lights outside and it looked closed (like it's looked for the past three months we've lived in La Quinta) finally the hostess, who is delivering something to a table came to the front door. She was a heavy Hispanic girl with glasses and a ponytail. We told her we were there for happy hour so that she would NOT think we were there for dinner. She said well you would sit anywhere in the bar area if you're there for happy hour, but did not get specific. The interior is very small. It's all open. It's one big room with the bar in the corner. I told her we did not want to sit at the bar. She said to take a seat anywhere and she would follow us. Every table was set for complete sets of four. There was no designated bar area as she had mentioned so I had to ask her again where we could sit. She motioned to four different tables. They were all set for dinner and all set for four places. We picked a high top next to the bar. The hostess came over with a disgruntled look on her face and sighed and literally snatched everything from the other two placesettings off the table and started slamming them on a nearby staging table. She seemed really annoyed. She did not smile the entire time we were there who wants to come back to a place where the staff is like that...seriously. We were told that the happy hour items were the small plates discounted for happy hour and she gave us a separate happy hour menu, which was a little skinny menu. There were a few things I wanted to try off the light items menu. The happy hour menu said 20% off all the regular priced items for happy hour.. I thought this was strange because most places it's 50% off for happy hour. So I ordered the meatball sliders and another item for the two of us. About 13 to 15 minutes later the server came back and told us that they were 86th on the one item on the menu which was confusing because they had only been open for 20 minutes. It was 20 after four. I believe. So the other person in my party decided they wanted to order the pasta Bolognese.. my sliders came on 23 inch spongy things that looked like little flower tortillas but they weren't. They were very spongy. There were too many meatballs inside. And a little piece of onion and a few strands of sprouts or something.. my friend ordered the Bolognese and when it arrived, it was literally seven pieces of rigatoni without glop of Bolognese sauce on top with a little drizzle of what looked like Bechemel ...maybe a half a teaspoon. thrown on top of the Bolognese sauce was a handful of thyme, which I am still tasting 90 minutes later as we speak time is lemony and an herb you do not put in Bolognese (see photo) I ordered a beer and my friend ordered a Diet Coke. The bill was $52 and nothing was discounted. They had the nerve to charge $23 for those seven pieces of rigatoni in a bowl.. we will never eat there again and I didn't bother complaining. I just wanted to get out of there so fast. I have been majorly ripped off the last 20 to 30 places I've eaten out in this valley eating out has gotten so ridiculously expensive and overpriced. Glad I had an experience to visited and tasted the food during the Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week. This place is small, but can be loud. From the restaurant week menu I enjoyed and tasted most of the food ordered. The food here have an interesting and unique flavors at first taste and came in a small portion. Some plates I ordered on the restaurant week menu ($39 per person): Started with: The Chef's Choice Seasonal Amuse Bouche 1st Course: Local Strawberry Salad Fried Green Tomatoes 2nd Course: Shrimp & Grits Filet Mignon Tacos 3rd Course: King Hawaiian '99 Bananas' Bread Pudding Key Lime Cheesecake Mousse I also picked from the regular menu: Thai Shrimp Cakes Ahi Sesame Poke 'Nachos' There were plenty of parkings. WOW! I'm impressed. I'd been wanting to try Cork and Fork for a while and tonight did NOT disappoint. My family started with the Fried Cauliflower and Deviled Eggs. The Cauliflower was the best I've ever had. Crisp coating, not heavy or doughy, with a wonderful drizzle of sweet goodness. We had the Saracha Aioli on the side but it was very favorable without a lot of heat. The deviled eggs were good but did not compare to the Cauliflower. I had the Not Your Mothers Marguerita and I feel in love. Hand blended, no pre-made base with an excellent taste and sweetness; not too sweet or syrupey. I had the Short Rib Ravioli that had a delightful cream sauce, a touch of mustard and sautéed mushrooms. I could have licked the bowl!!! My companions both ordered tacos, one had shrimp and the other steak. They liked both equally and thoroughly enjoyed the simple, but flavorful entrees. Save room for dessert because they have a small, but great list of offerings. We chose the Sunday Sundae which was a fudgy Brownie topped with salted caramel Gelato and topped with a light chocolate drizzle. YUM!!! I loved the pasta !!! My husband had thé mushroom risotto , we both cleaned out bowls to say the least . Also, we started off with the coconut shrimp a order of the dates : wow , those dates are really good for being vegetarian. For dessert we had the Hawaiian bread pudding with expresso martinis . First visit today for Restaurant Week. First impressions leave a lasting mark. The walls were very visibly dirty. They desperately need to be wiped down. I proceeded to go into the restroom which had no seat covers & toilet paper all over the floor! It was 4:30 on Monday & the restaurant was slow. No reason for the bathroom to be dirty & out of seat covers in a dead restaurant. First course was corn with peas & mozzarella. It wasn't good at all. The corn tasted canned.The ahi was good. My lobster risotto was okay at best. It needed salt. The bread pudding was suggested by the server. It was a little too sweet for my taste but it was good. Drink prices aren't listed. They're $17.50! The burger sliders were the best but they are sooooo small. They are basically 1 bite burgers. Honestly, I went to Ralphs right after because I was still hungry. The sliders were small and just two to share but they were very flavorful. Then we had the grilled watermelon salad and bbq chicken pizza. Both were tasty too. Our table was right at the kitchen door and had people go back and forth. It ruined the vibe a bit but everything was still good. Service was good too. We would definitely go back. Went in with big expectations but left feeling like I over payed for bland food. Obviously the small portions wasn't a problem but I was waiting for big flavors that never really came. I did love the ahí tuna dish & the dessert! Those were good!. The tacos were nothing special I'll stick with my local taqueros for that which the meat was soft & tender but lacked flavor. The server was attentive & the food runner was very nice which is always a plus. The ambiance had a nice hip modern look & very comfortable chairs. I go to Cork & Fork about once a year on a special occasion. The food has always been good and the decor and ambience is very nice. Unfortunately, my recent visit (on my birthday) ended up getting overbilled and a promised free dessert not given. I had received an email from Cork & Fork wishing me a happy birthday and that they would buy me dessert. This helped me decide to choose Cork & Fork for my birthday. We announced to the waitress first thing that it was my birthday so that was established. Yet, it was not until after we had already ordered and eaten dessert that she told us, "Oh we only give a free scoop of gelato for that. So, I'll just credit $3 off your bill." Well, getting a free dessert (range of $10-12) to a free $3 scoop of gelato is not the same thing. And that was not told to us until it was too late. We felt gipped and lied to. On my birthday. On top of this, we did not receive an itemized bill. The total seemed high for happy hour prices, but we were not apt to do calculations then and there after a romantic birthday celebration. The next day when calculating what we actually ordered and what we were charged, we were definitely overcharged by at least $20. Not to mention the free dessert lie which we were forced to pay for. We go to happy hour because we are not rich people and the small bites are supposed to be 20% off and wines discounted. And the allegedly free dessert. This was a deeply disappointing visit and though we like the food, it is hard to imagine going back there after being overcharged and overpromised. read more

Four of us staying in Indio and hadn't tried Cork and Fork. It is higher end and not a sports bar. (There are a couple tv's around the bar if you want to watch something.) Servings are very nicely prepared but servings are small. Salmon was too small for the price but loved the way it was prepared. We tried the cauliflower appetizer and enjoyed it. Very different, very light breading and not spicy. Four of us each got a taste. Pasta was nothing special, and skip the blackened salmon tacos so you save room for desert! Bread pudding with gelato yummm! And brownie sundae was very good. Matisse served from the bar and she is a gem. read more

How this place has so many good reviews is mind boggling! Our artichoke appetizer was REALLY cold. We sent it back for a new one which came back in less than 2 min and was lukewarm and was clearly the same one as it was identical pieces missing etc to the one we sent back. They put it under a heatlamp or something. My lobster penne had either lobster shell or a broken red plate or something (see attached photo) that didn't break in my bite and was hard. My friends lobster rissoto tasted like the smell of a dirty sock. The service was nothing special and they didn't once apologize about the artichoke. Our two other friends liked the filet tacos, at least. Overall, don't recommend and won't ever come back. read more

I searched yelp for a happy hour recommendation and up popped Cork & Fork. All 3 courses were brilliant! Plus the wine of the day ($8) Pinot Grigio, everything was AMAZING. The dates were melt in your mouth: the Happy Pizza, paired with garlic oil, OMG so good. Last, the Kings Hawaiian Bread Pudding, to die for. My bar keep, Vanessa, was attentive and kind. I'll start off by saying the food is really good, We have been here 4 times and the food has always been really good but not good enough to overcome the horrible service everyone has a bad day that's why I waited to complete a review and the last time we were there it was borderline comical to the point both tables on each side of us had issues as well and the service became joke after joke the entire time we were there, Want your drink refilled good luck asked twice and it took 28 minutes to just get water when we were seated. They didn't take a drink order until we had been seated for 41 minutes. It continued to get with wrong appetizers delivered to 2 different tables our dinner delivered to someone else's table. In short all 4 times we were there the great food couldn't overcome the terrible service. read more
