Went to Tac/Quila in downtown Palm Springs tonight and really liked the place. It's clean, beautiful, and has a really nice vibe. They have indoor, outdoor, and balcony seating, and I was able to get a table outside without waiting. My server, Benito, was great and took good care of me. I started with the chips and guacamole, and the guacamole tasted fresh and was really good. I also had the grilled lobster tacos. They come with lobster tail, avocado, cabbage, rice, and beans. Everything came out pretty quickly and looked really nice. The tacos were good, but I felt like they were missing a little something flavor-wise. The rice and beans were pretty bland and could definitely use more seasoning. I also had the tres leches cake, and that was really delicious. Definitely my favorite part of the meal. It's definitely on the more expensive side, but it's a nice place, the ingredients are good, and the atmosphere is great. I'd recommend checking it out if you're in downtown Palm Springs. I'd come back and try some of their other dishes.
Delicious Mexican food!! I totally understand why it is on the Michelin guide. The restaurant itself is a decent size with both indoor and outdoor seating, but I would def recommend getting indoor just because it is so hot. We got seated almost immediately and our server was super attentive and answered all of our questions about the menu. As for the food, all of the seafood was super fresh and the ceviche was so refreshing on such a hot day. The tacos were also very flavorful, with the shrimp one being our favorite. They did not skimp on the protein and vegetables in the short rib enchilada and posole either. All in all, I would highkey recommend this restaurant if you're in the area!
Honestly, I was pretty disappointed with this place, especially since it has a Michelin rating. Almost everything we ordered was just mediocre. The only thing actually worth eating was the shrimp dish my cousin got. On the bright side, our waitress was awesome--she was super friendly and had a smile on her face the whole time. The service, though, was really weird. At one point, a server dropped a plate of chips and guac right in front of my cousin. She thought it was ours, so she dipped a chip in, only for him to tell her it wasn't for us. Even after she'd already touched it, he told her to keep the chip and then just walked the plate over to another table. It was honestly pretty gross to watch him serve that to someone else. Definitely not what you expect from a place like that.
Wow! This place is a gem! Came here to celebrate a birthday and we had the best drinks and food. The hot corn dip was drool worthy! They even brought the birthday boy a surprise dessert! Our server was friendly and we loved chatting with her! Highly recommend this place!
Stopped by Tac/Quila just for cocktails and... yeah, they understood the assignment. The drinks were AMAZING and honestly enough to make me want to come back. The atmosphere is definitely lively and busy, but it still has a classy, upscale feel to it. This is the kind of place where you can actually get dressed up a little, grab some cocktails, and make a date night out of it. It would also be a great spot to start the night with friends. I didn't get a chance to try the food this time, so I can't speak on that yet--but judging by the drinks and the overall vibe, there will absolutely be a round two. To top it all off the service was amazing! Good laughs and gave us other places to visit nearby. Next visit: cocktails AND food.
This place was such a fun surprise! The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for--upscale, trendy, lively, and full of great energy. The music set the perfect vibe, the restaurant was buzzing, and our server was hilarious and made the experience even better. The food was absolutely delicious, and the margarita flight was a standout. I'm so glad I ordered it because it was a fun way to try several different flavors, and every single one was tasty. Great food, great service, and an all-around great experience. I'll definitely be making this a regular stop every time I'm in Palm Springs.

Tac/Quila has become our go-to first stop when we roll into Palm Springs. It's a great spot to get rejuvenated after sitting for two hours in a car. Four of us walked in and were warmly greeted by John and Zack behind the bar. Two Cadillac Margs, one Margarita Flight and for me, a locally brewed beer. Chips, salsa and guac for the table to share. Our friend loved her flight; her husband stole some sips also. Watermelon seemed to be the favorite. It made Becky wish that she had gotten the flight. The Caddies received high marks as well. My beer was ice cold and delicious. Excellent service from John and Zack. We're all looking very much forward to a return visit.
This place was such a hit for our group of 7 girls! We were in PS for a friends 40th birthday and wanted somewhere with fun vibes, great food, and awesome service. This place hit the bar on all three of those pillars. We sat outside and a few of us ordered the margarita flight, while a few others ordered other cocktails. They were all really enjoyable and well balanced. We asked our server for his favorite thing on the menu and he suggested the steak plate and one other dish. The next person who came to our table also suggested the steak plate and ahi taco. 3-4 of us ended up ordering the steak plate, one ordered the quesabirria tacos. The elotes street corn was absolutely delicious. The sour cream on top just really sent it over the edge, the best I've ever had. Their flan was also exceptional. I'm not typically a fan of flan, but this one was really good. Top notch! Everyone absolutely loved their dish. The steak plate was absolutely wonderful. Steak was cooked to perfection, and the grilled onion was so good. The guacamole was flavorful, and it all went really nicely with the tortillas and other accoutrements. We had a great time and enjoyed amazing food. Highly, highly recommend. Pretty much all the girls agreed at the end of the weekend that this had been our favorite spot.
Long overdue review! This place is SO bomb! Food delicious, service always amazing, and drinks are yummy!! Prices are fair for the quality and amount you receive. 10/10 highly recommend! :)
This ended up being our favorite meal of a four-night Palm Springs trip, and honestly, it wasn't particularly close. The setting immediately puts you in a good mood. We sat on the rear patio, the service was outstanding from start to finish, and every single thing we ordered delivered. The Beer Tempura Avocado Bites were unlike anything we've had before. Crispy outside, creamy inside, and incredibly addictive. The guacamole, salsa and chips may have ruined us for other Mexican restaurants. Everything tasted fresh and vibrant. The Grilled Lobster Tail Tacos were loaded with meat, not tiny little pieces hidden in toppings. You actually get full lobster tail flavor in every bite. My wife's Verde Enchiladas were outstanding too. Dessert sealed the deal. The Churro Ice Cream Sandwich was the best dessert we had the entire trip. Cocktails were equally impressive. Since I love cucumber, the Refrescado with blanco tequila, agave, lime juice and cucumber water was basically required ordering for me. They also prepare a delish Watermelon Margarita. Great food. Great energy. Great service. This is absolutely a place we'd return to on our next trip to Palm Springs.
We were in Palm Springs for a couple of days, and one of the nights we wanted Mexican for dinner. We found Tac/Quila on Yelp, and decided to give it a try. We didn't have a reservation, so we waited until about 8:00 to go and while it was busy, we were able to sit at the bar right away. We were greeted by the friendly bartenders, and provided menus and water immediately. I can only remember one of their names, Isaiah, but both were awesome! The atmosphere was lively, but we were able to hold a conversation in our normal speaking voices. The decor of the restaurant was nice too. The star of the show was the food and drink though! We each ordered a margarita flight, and I started with a pork tamale as an appetizer. For our meals I ordered the short rib enchiladas, and my friend ordered the verde enchiladas. We were both thoroughly satisfied! If you are ever in Palm Springs, Tac/Quila is the place to go for Mexican food! If I am ever in Palm Springs again, I will definitely be sure to have a meal and another flight of margs there!
Exceeded my expectations, food was extremely flavorful, light, filling, great experience overall. - jicama salad is a must try, extremely refreshing, great portion size, fresh - ceviche is to die for - tacos come with rice and beans. The rice was like chicken rice, extremely flavorful - service 5/5 - environment and ambiance is the best. Super lively and vibrant, great outdoor seating
Amazing food with great quality and flavor. Service was friendly and timely. Came with a reservation and there was indoor and outdoor seating. It does get full so reservations is the way to go. Good beer, cocktail, marg, taquila menu. Got the Viaje beer which was a stronger tasting lager. 1. Chips salsa Guac - good small spice in the dips. Not too much salt on the chips. Good quality 2. Street corn - definitely comfort food as listed and it was flavorful and comes out hot on a skillet 3. Shrimp tacos - 3 shrimp in each taco. I like that it comes simple with the chipotle aioli on the side and beans rice avocado on the side. Good flavor and not too salty again. Overall a great dinner and if I lived in the area, I would be back easily! read more

Loved the energy and vibe here! I showed up around 6:30 without a reservation, and despite it being very busy, they were able to seat me at the bar pretty quickly. I ordered the shrimp tacos, and they did not disappoint--very flavorful with plenty of shrimp. I also had the pomegranate margarita, which was delicious. I asked for it a little spicy, and it was perfect. My server was a bit lukewarm, but the person keeping my water glass filled was on it! My glass never went empty, and I appreciated that. Great food, great vibe, and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again. read more
You hear so much about this place which normally means it would be good. I've been to their sister restaurant both The Farm and Clandestino. The farm is great as we've alway enjoyed their brunch menu. Dinner is pre fixed course. As for Clandestino, another Mexican restaurant that has a really good atmosphere and majority of the restaurant is outdoor. Food was good. Then you have Tac/ Quila, à Michelin guide which maybe the busiest out of them all for dinner. Located right in the heart of downtown along the main strip. All their restaurants are along the main strip and walking distance from each other. There's a parking lot in the back as well as street parking. Heads up, this place is alway packed everytime we've walked by. Reservations recommended. I needed to make reservations for a group of 5 but open tables only allows up to 4 for online booking. We would need to call restaurant for a bigger booking. It's pretty hard trying to get a hold of someone there. Instead we happened to be there for the Villagefest and just walked up to the restaurant to make the reservation. A whole process with that as they needed to get the manager approval for a group of 5. Anyway, it was done. Night of dinner, we were running a couple minutes behind and thankfully we got a hold of someone to give them the heads up. Check in was breeze and the staffs were all amazing and friendly. Hostess, waitress and all the staff were a doll. First time for all of us as we've heard so much good things about this place. It's alway busy everytime we seen this place. They have both inside and outside dining. A converted patio dining along the street was added as well. Our waitress was the sweetest. I didn't get her name through. As it was our first time, she sure did explained everything down to the tee. The menu was quite extensive with the book. A nice selection both for cocktails and wine. An order of the margaritas sampler was had which is pretty much similar to the Clandestino restaurant. They were pretty good but a some was on the sweeter side which was too much for me. Some starters were sheared, the guacamole and salsa and chips. Between the guacamole and salsa which were both good, salsa was the winner. And the ceviche. We went with the mixture of seafood. Shrimp, octopus and fish served in a tower with avocados and chips. That dish was excellent and very flavorful. Highly recommend. As for entrees, their menu does sound really good. A selections of items were ordered. First off the steak fajitas, served with riche and beans. It's not like the usual with the sizzling plate. Portion was quite small, thin pieces of steak with grilled onions and bell peppers. The rice was good and also had a side of guacamole, sour cream and salsa and a side of tortillas. Overall, it was just ok. Nothing major to rave about. Would I get it again, probably not. Then you have their street tacos which are small and served 2 to an order. The birria tacos were nice, very small but good. Also served with rice and beans and the dipping sauce. The short rib enchiladas, with ranchero sauce a blend of Mexican cheese and sour cream. Small portion of two but flavorful. Lastly the stuffed poblano chilies. Pepper stuffed with Oaxaca cheese, calabacitas, tomatoes, onions and sweet corn on top of rice or beans. You could also add a protein. It was good. Overall, the food was good. Ceviche was the winner out of everything we had. Short rib enchiladas come in second. Fajitas was a miss so that probably won't be ordered again. The service was excellent and the staffs were all amazing. The property is beautiful. This place is alway happening and busy so they'll be ok. There's a few other dishes that sounded amazing which may need to try. Until next time. read more

Had a wonderful experience at Tec Quila in Palm Springs! We started with the taquitos and the tamal de huitlacoche, and both appetizers were absolutely delicious. For the main course, we had an enchilada with salsa verde that was full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The service was on point from start to finish--very polite, attentive, and welcoming. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. Definitely a place we'd recommend and come back to! read more

Michelin guide recommendations never let me down. Im very hard to impress when it comes to Mexican food. However this place succeeded. The service was immaculate despite being very busy. The food was delicious! And the dessert oh my, that cake was gone under 5 minutes. Also was there celebrating a birthday and the comp birthday dessert was so beautifully presented and tasty! Despite it being very busy and lively the vibe was still enjoyable. Flavor and comfort can be found here! read more

Been here once before, I've been dreaming about that green rice since the last time I was here. Today, I got the verde enchiladas with the green rice and the ceviche as an appetizer. The ceviche was very good! Really fresh with a tiny bit of spice.. just perfect. We sat outside, it was shaded but with the Palm Springs heat, I'd recommend trying to get a spot inside if you don't like the heat like me. They had misters so it wasn't too too b This place got a 3 star tho just cause of the wait. Bro! The wait is just crazy... where there for an hour and all we had received by then was our appetizers. read more
First time dining inside, which was necessary bc the heat is WILD. Ambience is colorful and vibrant. Very pretty bar area. Friendly accommodating w service. Ordered the nachos, short rib enchiladas and grilled shrimp street tacos. Watermelon margarita was bright and refreshing. Nachos topped w generous servings of avocado and crema, chicken grilled v well. Tasty. Nice char on the shrimp in the tacos. Not stingy w the veg but pico wasn't v spicy. Short rib enchiladas dressed in a flavorful rojo sauce and the meat was tender and shredded. Pretty good. read more

We saw this place on a YouTube video and when we walked by it my wife recognized it immediately. The place inside and on the street side was buzzing with customers. The place was definitely intimate and vibing. The food looked and tasted delicious and at reasonable prices. They had a limited selection of wine, but the wine was solid and recognizable like Daou's Cabernet. The best part of the dining experience was the service. From every interaction with different staff the interaction was top notch. I never had to ask for my water to be refilled. It was filled at least 5 times. When we asked someone who wasn't our waiter for something like hot water and lemon it was at our table within the next couple of minutes and brought with a smile. It's a small restaurant, but they are heavily staffed. I asked my wife to look where I was looking and from my perspective from the bar to the kitchen and dining room I could see at least 15 to maybe 20 staff. This was in just one small side of the restaurant. It's no wonder they can be so attentive. The restaurant has built a very strong positive culture with their staff and one can easily see it in the dining experience. I couldn't help but think whoever is the leadership of this restaurant really knows what they are doing. read more

Brought my daughter and niece for brunch during Coachella weekend 1. It was very busy, but I had made a reservation and was seated immediately. Everyone is so friendly! Our server was so attentive and helpful with suggestions. The ambience gorgeous. It was a little chilly out, so we decided to sit inside. They have a front patio and also back one. My niece had the margarita flight, and they were so delicious! I had a Chavela which I wasn't a fan of, but it was OK. The food was absolutely delicious! I love their rice. My daughter had the camarones à la diabla and they were so spicy! I had the shrimp tacos, which I feel were a little overcooked. My husband had the fajitas which were so good, but a kind of small portion. All in all a great experience! read more
The food here was so good! Elevated Mexican food but super tasty. I loved their guacamole and chips and the fries avocado appetizer. I got the shrimp tacos with a flour tortilla. Lots of Yelp comments, so here's what I'll add. Our 4-top sat outside at street level. We enjoyed it very much, others may not, as it is a very busy street. You decide. Extensive drink and food options on the menu. The stuffed vegetable poblano is a special dish. The taquito app is nice too. We had a round of margs. They were tasty all around, I had a Cadillac, but the quantity was very small for $18. The inside seating area is very beautiful! Amy V was our server. She was excellent and knowledgeable of the menu. The bathrooms were super clean. Thanks for that. Reservations are a must. read more

April 2026 - Lunch Nice indoor/ outdoor seating Our server gave us a nice intro to drinks and the general menu The smoky salsa is legit :) Kids cheese quesadilla was rich Drinks menu was exhaustive with a lot of great options - I had the Mezcalita - muy bueno All the tacos hit the right spots ! And the rice on the side had a great taste - maybe refried or black beans would've been a better option ? Tres leches dessert was perfect for a group of 4 (size wise) Enjoyed our meal ! read more

If you want great service, great food, and a nice vibe, come to Tac/Quila! My wife and I just went while we were in town for our anniversary and we will be back again! There are a couple restaurants in the downtown Palm Springs area that serve Mexican food, but none like Tac/Quila! The freshness of the guac, the cilantro lime rice, the fresh lobster and great tasting asada is what you have to come for! I personally had the asada plate which was a big portion and I give it 5 stars! The meat was so juicy, flavorful with just the right amount of seasoning. My wife got the lobster tacos and she said she can eat those everyday! To top all of it, the service was great! I'm just gonna say the lobster tacos oh my goodness first time and forever grateful for trying them so delicious so filling yes what a treat. Please try the lobster tacos.. avocado bites were great. Wow! You have to go here! The food and drinks were amazing! For drinks, we tried the Capas de Misterio, Te Enamore and Tres Agaves. Favorite was the Te Enamore (Mezcal, whiskey and Tamarind). We started with the taco chips. These are not ordinary chips and salsa. Corn tacos with refried beans, deep-fried and served with three dips. For the entree, I had the short rib enchiladas. It wasn't the fact that Tac/Quila is on the world renowned Michelin Guide recommended list of Restaurants to eat at. (No Michelin Stars, but still acknowledged by Michelin) It wasn't the vino or the Margarita flight. It wasn't even the melting Lava Cake with ice cream. It. Was. The. Company. Yeah, I might have turned 42, but that only means I am one year older, another year with more wisdom, experience and gratitude for the things that TRULY MATTER in life... Whom you choose to celebrate life's moments with in this thing called Life! Yes, for my birthday this year, I went to Palm Springs with my Amazing wife and our 3 beautiful children to celebrate my "Special Day". For my birthday, my wife booked a table at Tac/Quila which was just a short walk from our hotel. Upon our arrival, we were promptly seated at their outside patio table that lines N. Palm Canyon Drive. Fortunately, it's Palm Springs and the weather the 1st week of October was perfect! A glass of wine for me and a Margarita flight for the Mrs. Although the marg. flight was colorful and appeasing to the eyes... The sips I took from each one just weren't for me. I'm more of a classic margarita kinda guy and these were a little too much for my liking (one of them was too spicy to even enjoy). For our mains... I went the Lobster Tacos which get this... Is presented with a whole lobster tail (still in the shell) accompanied by 2 already dressed tortillas, a side of rice and a slaw. This was the highlight of the meal! My wife went with their verde green cheese enchiladas (her standard go to) and when I asked her last night before writing this review how they were, she said, "Enchilada like". Which translates to they tasted like verde enchiladas, but nothing to write home about. The kids shared some steak tacos which is my normal go to, but being that it was my birthday, I decided to get something special, hence the lobster tacos, which were FIRE! I tried a few pieces of steak from their tacos; it was flavored beautifully and had a nice char to it. (Check out the photo below for presentation). Of course, the word was out that it was my birthday so at the end of my meal, you know we had to have the melted lava cake with ice cream AND some Flan! Hey, YOLO baby! Beautiful restaurant, beautiful plates, beautiful drinks. Unfortunately I can't say that about the service. Our server was kind but the hostess had an attitude, didn't even acknowledge us when we got to the podium. The nachos were pretty good and I really enjoyed the drink, but the Chile poblano isn't anything to rave home about. A downtown staple, food and cocktails were really good. Both indoor and outdoor seating, ample menu and decent service. Crabcakes, shrimp tacos and chicken tortilla soup was enjoyed and honestly, I love a coconut tequila beverage. Restaurant was super clean and everything was super cute. Selected this place because they have vegan options. Was not let down at all. Jackfruit enchilada was amazing. The story inside the menu from the owners makes you stop and say wow I mad the right decision. The food, the ambience, service, all reasons to come again. Pablo was my server - great job. What went well? Everything! Lovely venue. Great food. Outstanding Service from Jayda. Got into Palm Springs and ready for lunch. Drove down the main drag of old Palm Spring and when we went by Tac Quila we said that's it. So obiviously, the curb side appeal snagged us. We weren't disappointed. With the beautiful weather we chose outside dining. They have a large area between the sidewalk that is very comfortable. We started with traditional margaritas on the rocks with an order of quacamole and chips. The quacamole was very good. The salsa was interesting in a good way. It was made from roasted red peppers. What oils are used to cook with? Any seed oils, specifically for the vegan dishes?
I do not know about seed oil use however I do know that we were able to avoid soy in any form and gluten free was easy. As far as oils go,we ask everytime we go to any restaurant due to constant changes in the supply chain.
How much gluten free options are there? What about cross contamination? Sauces and salsa and seasonings for the meat are gluten free?
There are a lot of gluten free options. It’s too much to go over in a message. Our staff is well trained in this area. The most important thing is to advise your server and ask them to involve management to ensure a safe experience.
Do you accept contactless payment?
We have chip readers but you do need to sign a screen to confirm payment.
Do you have kids meals? Tried to call but no one answered.
Hello there! Joe is correct. We have meals that are suitable for kids (ie quesadillas), but there is no specific kids menu.
Is it pet friendly?
If you request a table on the patio, as I have seen pets there that were very well behaved. Palm Springs is a huge pet community.

A few months in advance for reservations or get there early and put your name on the list. We went about 5 and waited about an hour for a party of 8.

Yes it's great for families and yes they have high chairs. They have a really nice patio area with heaters as well. And great food! Enjoy!

I would call ahead, but I believe 6 is the max and the entire party has to be present to be seated. Also, Tac/Quila does enforce mask wearing. In fact, anytime your server or restaurant staff comes to your table, everyone has to put their masks on.
