I go to a conference every March in Palm Springs and have made Inka a regular visit when I am there. Three of us shared pescado saltado, Jalea, and Plantanos. The food is consistently good. I love Peruvian food, and my friends and I randomly came upon this place as we were walking in downtown and we all immediately knew that we had to stop by here. I got the lomo saltado, I wish there was more onions in it. I had like maybe four pieces. Some of these steak was flavored and some of them weren't but it's okay because I ended up using a lot of the green sauce (which definitely had a kick by the way) and the chimichuri. If I'm ever back in Palm Springs, I will definitely be checking this place out again. read more

Going to PS for 3 decades, first time I went to this jewel! Delicious ceviche and picarones! topped with a pisco sour.. or 2 ;) the restaurant was nice and big - it seemed it had an area for dancing. Few things bring us more joy than supporting an outstanding small business! During our extended honeymoon in Palm Springs, we discovered Inka. The service was phenomenal and the food is delicious. The fresh passion fruit juice was the cherry on top. Highly recommend the aguadito de pollo and lomo saltado. A hidden gem on the Palm Springs strip. Wife and I were nursing a hangover, and the aguadito de pollo (chicken soup) brought us back to life. One of the best soups I've ever had in my 36 years of life. Lomo saltado was very tender and perfectly cooked as well. And they actually have passion fruit juice, the real juice not the carbonated can BS. Service was great, seems like a young couple runs the place and they work their tails off. My family and I came here on Christmas Day after an online order elsewhere had been cancelled. We were starving and were just happy to find somewhere open that would seat the 6 of us! We were seated immediately and our server was awesome! We ordered the lomo saltado, the arroz chaufa con pollo, and arroz con pollo. Everything was SO good!!! They brought a chimichurri and hot sauce to the table- try both. Delicious. I basically inhaled my food as well as whatever else my other family members didn't eat. This is a lovely restaurant in a nice part of town. We sat outside, but the restaurant inside is really cute also ( and a lot bigger than one would think). I had the Lomo Saltado and it was exquisite. The meat was so tender. It came with rice and fries. I couldn't finish all of it. My girlfriend had tallarin verde con pollo. The chicken was so exquisitely spiced, and mouthwatering tender. The spaghetti came with a peso made from basil, spinach, garlic, milk, cheese and ... pecans. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Listen, we live in Los Angeles. We stayed out here to work for Coachella Weekend. We came for dinner last night, we came back AGAIN for dinner tonight. Our server, Mario, was absolutely charming and very attentive and led us into the right direction on both visits on deciding what to order. Night 1 Hers: Pescado a Ajo A fried sea bass topped with a roasted garlic and cilantro wine sauce on top of grilled potatos and white rice. It was so incredibly delicious and perfectly cooked and for a person who LOVES garlic it was heaven in each bite. His: Pollo alo Pobre Grilled chicken breast served with french fries, sweet plantains, fried eggs and white rice. Night #2 Causa Acevechada Mashed potatoes seasoned with lemon juice and yellow pepper, served with fish, sliced red onions, and avocado ** not only delicious with lime, and creamy mashed potatoes, but perfect bites of fish and yummy avocado. Perfectly balanced and light for warm weather. A must!!! Dish #2 Tallarin a la Huancaina con Lomo Saltado.... Strip of filet mignon sauteed with red onions, tomatoes,soy sauce, vinegar and cilantro. Mixet in fettuccini and Huancaina sauce, a traditional Peruvian sauce made with white cheese , yellow pepper, milk and salt ** talk about comfort food on a plate, it barely survived two people, the fettuccine was cooked perfect, the filet mignon, super tender, 1000% flavorsss. Heaven in every bite. All the negative reviews on here, I'm not understanding... because our service was beyond phenomenal with Mario. Our water glasses were never empty, constant refills, continual check-ins. The music was so fun, the seating and lighting was immediate and comfortable! Highly recommended. We ordered their sea bass dishes and both came out really good. Their fresh green salad is good too. They make their own ranch dressing. We had a server who gave us the wrong dish. He put in the wrong order. I said something to our server, but due to language differences, it was hard to explain what was wrong. To make the long story short, with the help of another server Eduardo, the restaurant was able to correct the mistake and gave me what was missing in my order, and I left the restaurant happy. So many great things to say about this restaurant but the main thing is that the cooks are Peruvian. That makes a huge difference when comparing Peruvian restaurants and the authenticity of the ingredients used to make certain dishes as there are many substitutes your can use for certain dishes. Food: This place was absolutely incredible! I was blown away by my dish, the Tallarin Saltado de Carne. The filet mignon was perfectly well made while the sauce for the noodles and vegetables was exactly as it should taste like, a tangy almost soy saucy flavor. Yelp reviews not accurate and deceiving, Should have gone with my instinct upon arrival to the restaurant, the place was completely empty! with the exception of 2 other tables. I still took the risk of trying it out for the first time. Con's- Arroz con marisco, the shrimp was served uncooked. Upon bringing it to the server's attention he then removed the plate from the table and stated he would show it to the cooks in the kitchen, few minutes later he comes back with the plate asking if we wanted the shrimp to be cooked longer. We said we no longer want it since the shrimp was uncooked.. when the server gave us the final bill we were only giving 50% off the plate and I ask why they didn't remove the entree the shrimp was raw, he proceeded to state that the mgr only approved half off due to the plate being half way through. Mgr came to the table and said that shrimp was cooked and that the cooks had confirmed it, so basically calling us liars at that point I was very upset! I stated we could sick from food poisoning and she then said that I didn't have to be rude. At that point I was like why are going back and forth with this situation. Horrible lack of good customer service coming from the "manager". Following up to your response... Hector. And you're still stating that customer was wrong about the food getting serve undercooked!!. Me coming from a restaurant business standpoint customers are always right!!. also there was no other shrimp in the plate just one. I been in food industry for many years now. and currently manage a kitchen so if anyone ever is unsatisfied with there meals regardless of how much is remaining on the entree it's gets removed from the bill. I finally got to try Peruvian food & had such a nice early dinner! There was plenty of seating indoors & out front, but was still too hot to sit outside (and very humid + misters). I'm sure it'll be nice in the coming months. Food: - I ordered the Tallarin Verde con Pollo which was a chicken pesto fettuccine dish. The chicken was a good portion & juicy. The pasta was more than plenty (saving some for later). - My dad got the seafood fried rice (shrimp + calamari), which looked great. I almost got the same without calamari (which has whole pieces). The calamari is too obvious for me, so I get squirmy haha. - Drinks: Maracuya aka Passionfruit juice, my favorite juice!! Service was kind, polite, and calm. We were seated quickly, food came at a decent amount of time after, and server checked on us just a bit. If you are new to Peruvian food, stick to the typical dishes like "lomo Saltado" so you can get a good taste of what the flavor is like. Our food was good, really yummy, and full of flavor. SEAFOOD: incredibly wonderful, with an abundance of flavor that was both intense and fresh. STEAK: the steak was snot very delicious I don't think this is the best spot for steaks; my partner ordered a steak, which was undercooked and frozen within. So don't order steak here. All other dishes were fantastic. DRINKS: There is a wide assortment of drinks, including alcohol, and there is a large bar. PRICE: Well, it's Palm Springs, so the costs are not cheap, but they're affordable compared to other areas. We were visiting for 4 days and enjoyed 2 meals there because it was that good. We took our family the second time and they loved it too. Their fries are fresh and so good and the portion was large. The service to start, needs inprovement. I had to ask for things instead of the server to come to the table and asked the guest if they need anything. The food is getting smaller everytime, but the prices remain high and increasing. The mixto meat parrilla, too expensive. It arrives warm, and had to ask to get it reheaded. Rice, fries serving just a hand full. The sea food soup. Almost 30.00 and comes with no vegetable, 3 shrimp, 2 small bites of fish and 3 little bite size octopus. In Palm Springs, where it can reach 100 degrees, this is unacceptable. We came here because a friend recommended it, but now we know better. The staff was nice, though a bit slow, which wasn't a big deal. However, I don't like having to ask for everything all the time; they seemed to limit what they gave you. We won't be coming back. The past being the Italian, Japanese and American influence. The food was great, the sauces tend to get a little tired after a few bites of the same. We were there for a choice made by the birthday boy. Bill Masters "Pig Pen Housecleaning" in Palm Springs turned 60! Anyway, he wanted Peruvian for his celebration.
