Tried a Mexican restaurant in Palm Springs and it was honestly such a sweet little experience. The food was so flavorful and came out fresh, and you can really taste the quality in everything. The portions were perfect and super satisfying.

The food was ever delicious, very authentic! Service was also very great! Our server was nice enough to tell me about receiving a free drink if we posted them on IG. Oh, not to mention our server also sang my friend "Las Mañanitas" as it was her birthday! I truly appreciate him as he did make my friend feel special on her day! I really like how they also had outdoor seating definitely recommend and I will certainly be coming back!

We really enjoyed the fast service, quick seating, and delicious food. We really enjoyed the Tacos Lidia and the Shrimp Ceviche. The mango cocktail and Felipe's margarita were really tasty too. Very much enjoyed outdoor seating as well. Nice ambiance.

Ordered a bunch of food for the New Year's Eve. And then it just still happens to be a one day which they are having a 50% off all Margarita, and that should take advantage of that. It's a busy night so we have to wait for an hour for our food. But $7 for mango margarita and the passionfruit margarita is definitely a really really good deal. Molcajete is a show stopper but is probably more theatrical than taste. It is indeeed very generous in portion and then I don't think two people will be able to finish that. What I loved the most is the fish fillet with shrimp and octopus. Lightly seasoned so fish still tastes fresh and sweet. Rice goes better with its lemony sauce and you still get quite full with all the octopus and shrimp.

Felipe's is a small, cozy spot with closely set tables and a large outdoor patio. The staff were warm and proud of their Jalisco roots, and answer my questions about the menu and how things were prepared. We began with bright guacamole and refreshing hibiscus margaritas rimmed with salt, pepper, and flower petals -- well-made, if a bit slow to arrive. My Carne en su Jugo was exceptional: thinly sliced steak and crispy bacon simmered in a rich tomatillo-and-serrano broth with onion, garlic, cilantro, and pinto beans -- a dish I'll remember. The carnitas were equally impressive: slow-braised pork shoulder finished on the griddle for crisp edges, served with beans, rice, guacamole, pickled jalapeños, and fresh tortillas. We're definitely adding Felipe's to our recommended places in Palm Springs.

Everything was amazing here! My friend got the party private room for his birthday and it was a vibe. He paid $200 and it came with first round of shots and appetizers for the table. I also go a tamrindo margarita and passion fruit mojito. Both drinks were amazing. The steak was okay but I have had other food from here that is much better. Just got something basic this time around. Their tacos here are also great. Our server Mario was so cool. He was singing dancing and just so friendly. I love that type of service. We will definitely be back as we are locals!

So so so good! Our bartender was fantastic and the food recommendations did not disappoint! We ordered the shrimp and octopus ceviche, and the quesabirria which comes with two tacos stuffed with cheese and birria and a side of the consume. Ask for the Serrano and habanero sauce if the salsa is too mild for you.

By far the best salsa in Palm Springs only second to El Patio (iykyk) I highly recommend the chile relleno as well!!

The husband and I popped in here for a quick lunch. This is a pretty small restaurant with about 10 tables inside. They have a good drink menu here and the prices are great for Palm Springs. My one big complaint is that our appetizer came out after our main courses. I really enjoyed my taco salad. It was the best I've probably had in California. They fry the shell fresh and the shredded beef was really flavorful. My husband enjoyed his AguaChile and their house salsa is one of my favorites...chunky with a little undertone of heat. Bonus points for them bringing out a whole bunch of their sauces to try. You can tell the staff actually like working here and care about the customers. The table next to us was a little bit wonky, and before the ladies said anything he was off, trying to get napkins to stabilize the table.

    Hayden L.

Really great food and exceptional service. I had the Filete a la Diabla (seared white fish in spicy red sauce) and it was delicious. It was Wednesday and half off margaritas. Woohoo. It's a small casual place in a shopping center with a patio with misters and a parking lot. I sat inside in the air conditioning. It's not a huge place but has a small bar and maybe 10-15 tables inside. Lots of locals and not in the touristy part of town. I'd go back!

I took my son and daughter-in-law to Palm Springs for lunch. Normally, when I go there, I do try to find a restaurant that I have never been to before. Felipe's was nice. We had an outdoor seat with misters which made it cool and comfortable. Jacob was our server who attended us quickly with drinks, chips/salsa and menus. Chicken flautas were very good. My son and daughter-in-law had the Molcajete, which I had never heard of before, and it was quite interesting. They really enjoyed it. My sister had the red beef burrito, she said that it was good but the red sauce taste was different from what she's had before. All in all it was a good day with good food and enjoyable.

    Loree C.

Stayed at the V, talking to the staff about where we were headed the next day and they suggested here instead! So glad they did, warm, welcoming environment and the food was delish! Ask for the spicy salsas. The Serrano is fantastic. Loved the carne en su jugo too! Cannot wait to return to PS and here!

    Melzie C.

I love this place. Let's start there. I'm pretty stuck up when it comes to food and idgas that it's next to the airport... that makes is accessible! Lol. Ceviche: 10/10 every time. We love this and that's something I get the moment I get off the plane. It's a big portion so it's best to share. Chips & salsa are great. Chilaquiles is good (red or white). The flavor is on point and the fried egg -- chefs kiss! Lastly the guac - can't complain with perfection I will be back, I love this place, the servers are great. No complaints - only compliments!

My mom isn't usually a big fan of Mexican food, but we couldn't leave without one "Mexican night." We had walked past during the street market earlier in the week and the place was packed, so we knew we had to come back and try it. The building is absolutely beautiful. I was blown away by the size of the place there are so many different rooms, multiple bars, and the outdoor seating even had live music. It's a great vibe for a vacation send-off. I had a margarita which was pretty good, and the others enjoyed their iced teas. Mom had the beef tacos I was surprised she really enjoyed the meat, she didnt like the shell just at the inside, my wife had the carnitas, and I went with the chicken chimichanga. Everything was delicious, and the salsa had the perfect amount of kick. I'm normally not a guacamole fan, but I actually liked it here! Interestingly, I didn't care for the scoop on my plate, but the guacamole on my wife's plate was excellent I'd definitely order hers again. Service was not very good, took a long time to even get a server to stop at the table and then after ordering we didnt see a server had to ask other people for drink refills and of the check We had a wonderful time. The portions are generous enough that we'll probably share a meal next time we visit, but we will definitely be back!

Palm Springs has a night market that happens Thursday night from 6-10 where it brings out people. Food vendors, arts and crafts, gifts and so on. A nice family outing on the main strip. Also all the storefronts are open as well. The thing with something like that, you tend to stand or find a seat along the curb to sit with your food. Hence we finally walked into this restaurant. It was pretty busy when we walked in but at the right time. Got seated right away as there was only two tables available. By the time we were seated, the line was pretty long. It's just off the main strip. Pretty decent size patio which seems to be where everyone was utilizing it as it was nice out. There's a bar area with seating as well as indoor, a smaller room. Service was nice. Water and menu was brought out first then came the chips and salsas. Quite tasty but can be filling if you can't control yourself. Started off with their classic margaritas and the spicy margaritas. There's a few dollars difference from classic to spicy. They weren't that bad. Menu wise, a mixture of all your Mexican dishes. We didn't have any starters as we just wanted the mains. The carne asada plate which came with both rice and beans. I opted for only rice. Thin skirt steak with chorizo, grilled jalapeño and onion, flour or corn tortillas and salsa. And the chicken enchiladas verde with the green sauce. The food was quite tasty. Carne asada plate was pretty plentiful. Nice skirt steak with a nice piece of chorizo. Both were quite tasty and flavorful. Steak was decent and cooked well. Not overly done. Then you have the enchiladas. It's decent in size but not too big. It's good if you're not too hungry. The sauce was great and was a perfect pair to the dish. As it was our first time, it was great. All these place that's been there but you walk by loads of time. Sometimes you just have to try new places out and see what comes of it. Maybe it's a hit. We quite enjoyed it and glad that we finally tried it out.

Both my husband and I ordered shrimp tacos. I don't eat meat, so I always choose fish or shrimp as alternatives. The first two tacos I received (fish and shrimp) actually had beef in them. I sent them back and clearly explained that I do not eat meat. I then reordered shrimp tacos and specifically told the waitress again about my dietary restriction. Unfortunately, the second batch came with bacon. While yes, I could have read every ingredient more carefully, I would expect the staff to be more attentive and helpful--especially after I had already sent food back for the same issue. Instead, the waitress lectured me about not reading the menu, which felt inappropriate and unprofessional. On top of that, the tacos themselves were not good--overloaded with random ingredients and not at all enjoyable, especially for $23. I left feeling unwell and very dissatisfied. The strangest part of the experience was the hostess at the front. She appeared completely disengaged, staring off into the distance. I tried multiple times to get her attention for something as simple as a napkin or the check, waving while she was looking in my direction, but she didn't respond at all. Overall, poor service, lack of attention to dietary needs, and disappointing food. I wouldn't return.

Our server, Rene, was an absolute joy! He promptly brought us waters, beverages, and the some of the best fajitas EVER. In the time it took for us to walk in and out of Melvyn's, we already had everything--water, drinks, and food. Good thing too, because we were hungry! I can't say enough good things about Sancho's. We later realized we ordered multiple taco plates that should have qualified for the special, but she never said a word. The food was even worse. I ordered fajitas, and what I was served was completely unacceptable,no vegetables, no resemblance to fajitas, just chopped chicken covered in chorizo and tomato sauce. It was disgusting. I took one bite and couldn't eat it. I planned to send it back, but the waitress disappeared and never came back to the table. I was stuck with it and only ate the sides, which tasted like reheated frozen vegetables and a small cup of beans. Despite barely touching the food and not receiving what I ordered, I was still charged as if everything was fine, about $22 for a plate I couldn't eat. When I finally addressed it, she insisted it was "fajitas," which is honestly ridiculous. To top it off, when my husband asked for a box, the waitress came back after handling cash and used her bare hands, with long acrylic nails,to grab his taco and put it in the container. That is completely unsanitary and unacceptable. Bad service, disgusting food, and poor hygiene. I will not be returning and will be reporting this place to the health department. Avoid this place. During happy hour on a Tuesday evening, there were just a handful of customers. They serve burritos, tacos, chimichangas, enchiladas, and a few other things. Some of the dishes felt like they were missing an element like guacamole that would have pulled it together. Their dishes run between $17-25. Of the dishes we tried, the chicken fajita was good but nothing too special, the vegetarian burrito and vegetarian enchilada were also solid choices. It was nice that they had a few dedicated vegetarian dishes to choose from, as well as some vegan ones. The beef chimichanga was okay, but the corn cake seemed to be the best thing on the plate. They give the table tortilla chips and salsa complimentary. Many servers were milling around and they were relatively nice when they did come around, but they should have been more attentive to the table. No water refills either. UPDATE: Prices on the menu reflect a 3% surcharge for credit card purchases BUT if you pay cash, you should get a discount on the receipt. We got the check after awhile and we gathered our cash but no one came or told us this was the policy. It's another reflection of staff not communicating properly and as a result, us overpaying. It was noted on the menu but you can't expect customers to remember all these details. There are many eateries to choose from in this busy Palm Springs thoroughfare so you can likely find something more refined, unique and nice. Parking lot out back was great and you get 3 hours.
