Arrived early for our reservations, so we went to the bar and Austin took great care of us, super friendly and accommodating. Tried their Coconut Margarita and Old Fashion, Excellent-Both Well Balanced. Lou is our Server for dinner, very polite and Friendly. Her recommendations were Snapper Crudo & Ahi Tuna Tostada-both were okay. Cons: seating on cushions? They definitely need cleaning.

Excellent food with inventive combinations. The maitake mushrooms and the enchiladas were our favorite. The service however was poor and lacking. Our waitress was slow to take our food order and we just placed it with our drink server. She barely checked in on us during the meal. I will also note that the cushioned banquet areas need extra back pillows and are not really comfortable for eating. Maybe lounging. Otherwise still a good place to have dinner

I took one star off because the lemon they gave me was moldy and I didn't know until my friend pointed it out. So yeah I drank moldy lemon water.... Anyways, we got a lot of food to share among 5 of us. Our most favorite is potatoes in the steak dish and the coffee ice cream with Churros. They definitely need a separate dishes for those! Everything tasted amazing, and filling. Love that he kept filling up the chips! The server was really sweet and nice! Very very friendly! 10/10 for his service!! The whole place is so cute! We toook many cute photos there! The whole place had so much space, we were not close to other people at all. I will definitely come back but not sure will I get their lemons again tho...

I cannot say enough good things about Maleza! First off, the service was great. Chris took wonderful care of us during our dinner. Food came out in a timely manner. Decent amount of seating so I'd recommend reserving a spot on Resy. Parking is just with the hotel parking. There was a valet stand but no one was life and nature duty so it was self serve parking. Now to the food. Which was simply exquisite. We started off with the ceviche and green beans. The ceviche was fresh and full of flavor. The green beans was surprisingly very flavorful and frankly I probably could've eaten the whole thing myself! The beet mole was very good and we saved it for our mains. For mains we got the striped bass and chicken milanesa. Both were perfectly done. The bass was flaky and tender, and full of flavor. The chicken was lightly breaded and cooked to perfection. The accompanying tarter was a very good complement. I'd definitely come back again!

Came here for a bachelorette brunch. The outside just looks like a random building, but the inside was cute. They could definitely clean their furniture a little better as my chair was dirty. Our server Anissa was great! She was able to answer all of our questions, provided us with food we saw on yelp, but not on the menu, and gave us recommendations for a delicious coffee spot near by. Food The bride to be ordered a Guava mama to drink and did not like it. About 4 other girls then tried it and agreed that it was not very good. You couldn't even taste any guava. We were able to exchange it for a much tastier drink called Moon Water. It was delicious. A majority of the table enjoyed this drink. I had the espresso martini and chilaquiles. The espresso martini was perfect for me. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I needed some caffeine to go with my drink lol It was actually pretty tasty and it did the job. My go to brunch order is chilaquiles and they did not disappoint! They had the right amount of spice, a great flavor, and the chip was nice and crunchy. I devoured this meal. It was so good. I definitely recommend the chilaquiles. We ended brunch with churros. Soooo good. The sauce it came with was to die for. Highly recommend.

Great vibes and a beautiful atmosphere. Overall, the food was very good, though unfortunately they were out of the steak which was the one thing my husband was hoping to order, so that was a bit of a bummer. The oysters were delicious. The guacamole was fresh and flavorful, and the pre-meal bread was a unique touch. The duck confit flautas were tasty, though more of a shareable appetizer than a full meal. The gem salad had a strong anchovy-forward dressing that wasn't quite for me, but the pork chop and chicken were both generously portioned and well prepared. For dessert, the churros were fine, but the ice cream and cajeta were really the stars. The persimmon bread pudding was also a standout and a huge hit. Service was friendly but a bit slow, with our second round of drinks arriving after we had already finished our meal.

Arugula Salad (substituted avocado for tuna), $19

Again, I highly credit Yelp for guiding me to Maleza! I LOVED the indoor/outdoor atmosphere from the moment I saw it (entering from the parking lot, between the pool and restaurant)! We were extremely fortunate to sit at the bar top with Anissa as our bartender/server; her fun-&-positive personality and attitude, knowledge and guidance of the drinks and food menus, and comfortable attentiveness made us feel at ease from the start -- an amazing ambassador for Maleza!! We started with their Queso Fundido ($18) which differed from any other we've had; this whole bean version, not overly cheesy (therefore, not too heavy), served with crisp, dippable tortilla halves (and more available upon request; however, not needed as there was just the right amount), was highly satisfying, yet not overly filling (as others' can be). The salads we ordered: Caesar Salad and Arugula Salad (in which I'd substituted avocado for the tuna listed on the menu), both $19, were attractive in taste (with crisp-&-fresh ingredients) and presentation. Their cocktail menu offered some fun and interesting drinks; among those we ordered, the Oaxacan Negroni ($17) was complex, spirit-forward, yet smooth-&-flavorful. Another FABULOUS find, one that has been added to our list of definite places to visit when in this area.

    Sweet potatoes

I went to Maleza Sunday night for dinner with a reservation at 5:30 pm. The vibe of the restaurant is relaxed with upscale decoration. There is no host stand, so it was awkward entering, but I was greeted swiftly. The waiter noted that it was a good night as it wasn't busy. Despite it being slow, service was very slow. I was seated without water or a menu. It took about 10 minutes to be greeted again. Food came out very promptly after ordering, but the wait before and after the meal was long. The hamachi aguachile was delicious. It was flavorful and light with medium heat. The sweet potato dish was a complete miss. The flavors weren't great, and there were tiny bite sized pieces of shrimp. There were pieces of potato that were under cooked and crunchy while some pieces were so tender I didn't need to chew. There was cooking inconsistencies. The grilled maitake mushrooms were good, flavorful, and had medium heat. The server asked if he could bring the bill, and I requested a dessert menu. He brought the dessert menu and then quickly brought the bill. So, I took the hint that I was not allowed to eat dessert. (side joke - I think he forgot I was interested as there was a bit of waiting time before I was checked on again) I was given a drink voucher to return for the undercooked sweet potatoes, but as I don't drink alcohol maybe a friend can utilize it the next time. Parking was easy as one can utilize the hotel's parking. The restaurant is located in Drift Palm Spring's.

Will come here for their happy hour every time i find myself in palm springs!!! I was skeptical because it's a hotel restaurant, but the food is absolutely delicious, fair prices, and pretty big portions! Also enjoyed their cocktails. Great for small group seatings, especially their bar seating, and can also accommodate large parties! They can set up large outdoor, poolside tables

    Cute decor
    Adriana L.

Good- cute restaurant, minimal modern decor. It's small, so reservations are best. Bad- We only had drinks. My Palm Springs martini was very strong, straight up alcohol. It took about 15 minutes for the bartender to ask us for our drink order after we were given the drink menus. I understand, they were busy. When we return to Palm Springs, we will return to try the food.

    Carajillo

Went for a midday drink. Carajillo was very very good. They had the misters on as it was a hot day, so we were able to enjoy the outside part of the bar! Only thing I would suggest is they should juice their limes in the back kitchen, not at the bar where the customers are trying to enjoy the ambience without a grinding noise for over an hour. Still coming back for the Carajillo though!

One of my favorite restaurants in Coachella Valley! I would never expect a hotel restaurant to have great food, but Maleza sure beat my initial expectations. The restaurant is not that big and sits in the "lobby" of the posh Drift hotel, but the ambience was very comfortable. There is more seating outside of the restaurant near the pool, but I chose to eat inside with air conditioning. Additionally, the service was friendly, but a little slow at times (this was made up by the quality of the food). The food and cocktail menus are truly ahead of the curve for Coachella Valley standards. I ordered the guava mama cocktail and it was strong but mixed well enough that it was not too overpowering. The mezcal options are more well known for this place, but my drink was still very satisfying. Next, the food menu is limited but focused on a modern twist on Mexican cuisine. I ordered the scallop crudo, half chicken, prime flat iron steak, poblano rice, and the churros to end the meal. It's a rarity for me to like every dish I ordered, but I loved everything. The star of the meal had to be the half chicken because of the crispy leeks and delicious mole included on the plate. The main entrees are served with tortillas to make tacos out of so the half chicken dish had the perfect toppings to be included. Do not skip on the churros for dessert because they are fried to order and served with amazing dipping sauces. The Oaxacan chocolate dipping sauce was not too sweet or bitter and complimented the sweetness of the churros. Definitely a must order! Please expect a bit of a wait for the dishes to be made since they put a lot of care and effort into making them. I do not mind waiting for high quality food and would've waited even longer if I had to . Thankfully the inside of the restaurant/lobby has a beautiful partial view of the San Jacinto mountains, so there is always something to keep yourself distracted by. Overall, I think Maleza is my new favorite in all of Palm Springs and all of Coachella Valley. I believe this restaurant will eventually be featured on the Michelin guide in the upcoming future!

Palm Springs has a night market that happens Thursday night from 6-10 where it brings out people. Food vendors, arts and crafts, gifts and so on. A nice family outing on the main strip. Also all the storefronts are open as well. The thing with something like that, you tend to stand or find a seat along the curb to sit with your food. Hence we finally walked into this restaurant. It was pretty busy when we walked in but at the right time. Got seated right away as there was only two tables available. By the time we were seated, the line was pretty long. It's just off the main strip. Pretty decent size patio which seems to be where everyone was utilizing it as it was nice out. There's a bar area with seating as well as indoor, a smaller room. Service was nice. Water and menu was brought out first then came the chips and salsas. Quite tasty but can be filling if you can't control yourself. Started off with their classic margaritas and the spicy margaritas. There's a few dollars difference from classic to spicy. They weren't that bad. Menu wise, a mixture of all your Mexican dishes. We didn't have any starters as we just wanted the mains. The carne asada plate which came with both rice and beans. I opted for only rice. Thin skirt steak with chorizo, grilled jalapeño and onion, flour or corn tortillas and salsa. And the chicken enchiladas verde with the green sauce. The food was quite tasty. Carne asada plate was pretty plentiful. Nice skirt steak with a nice piece of chorizo. Both were quite tasty and flavorful. Steak was decent and cooked well. Not overly done. Then you have the enchiladas. It's decent in size but not too big. It's good if you're not too hungry. The sauce was great and was a perfect pair to the dish. As it was our first time, it was great. All these place that's been there but you walk by loads of time. Sometimes you just have to try new places out and see what comes of it. Maybe it's a hit. We quite enjoyed it and glad that we finally tried it out.

Both my husband and I ordered shrimp tacos. I don't eat meat, so I always choose fish or shrimp as alternatives. The first two tacos I received (fish and shrimp) actually had beef in them. I sent them back and clearly explained that I do not eat meat. I then reordered shrimp tacos and specifically told the waitress again about my dietary restriction. Unfortunately, the second batch came with bacon. While yes, I could have read every ingredient more carefully, I would expect the staff to be more attentive and helpful--especially after I had already sent food back for the same issue. Instead, the waitress lectured me about not reading the menu, which felt inappropriate and unprofessional. On top of that, the tacos themselves were not good--overloaded with random ingredients and not at all enjoyable, especially for $23. I left feeling unwell and very dissatisfied. The strangest part of the experience was the hostess at the front. She appeared completely disengaged, staring off into the distance. I tried multiple times to get her attention for something as simple as a napkin or the check, waving while she was looking in my direction, but she didn't respond at all. Overall, poor service, lack of attention to dietary needs, and disappointing food. I wouldn't return.

Our server, Rene, was an absolute joy! He promptly brought us waters, beverages, and the some of the best fajitas EVER. In the time it took for us to walk in and out of Melvyn's, we already had everything--water, drinks, and food. Good thing too, because we were hungry! I can't say enough good things about Sancho's. They are a small business, and the hotel doesn't own them, so I'm sure they've weathered a lot with the loss of foreign tourism and tariffs. We later realized we ordered multiple taco plates that should have qualified for the special, but she never said a word. The food was even worse. I ordered fajitas, and what I was served was completely unacceptable,no vegetables, no resemblance to fajitas, just chopped chicken covered in chorizo and tomato sauce. It was disgusting. I took one bite and couldn't eat it. I planned to send it back, but the waitress disappeared and never came back to the table. I was stuck with it and only ate the sides, which tasted like reheated frozen vegetables and a small cup of beans. Despite barely touching the food and not receiving what I ordered, I was still charged as if everything was fine, about $22 for a plate I couldn't eat. When I finally addressed it, she insisted it was "fajitas," which is honestly ridiculous. To top it off, when my husband asked for a box, the waitress came back after handling cash and used her bare hands, with long acrylic nails,to grab his taco and put it in the container. That is completely unsanitary and unacceptable. Bad service, disgusting food, and poor hygiene. I will not be returning and will be reporting this place to the health department. Avoid this place. Some of the dishes felt like they were missing an element like guacamole that would have pulled it together. Their dishes run between $17-25. Of the dishes we tried, the chicken fajita was good but nothing too special, the vegetarian burrito and vegetarian enchilada were also solid choices. It was nice that they had a few dedicated vegetarian dishes to choose from, as well as some vegan ones. The beef chimichanga was okay, but the corn cake seemed to be the best thing on the plate. They give the table tortilla chips and salsa complimentary. Many servers were milling around and they were relatively nice when they did come around, but they should have been more attentive to the table. No water refills either. UPDATE: Prices on the menu reflect a 3% surcharge for credit card purchases BUT if you pay cash, you should get a discount on the receipt. We got the check after awhile and we gathered our cash but no one came or told us this was the policy. It's another reflection of staff not communicating properly and as a result, us overpaying. There are many eateries to choose from in this busy Palm Springs thoroughfare so you can likely find something more refined, unique and nice. Parking lot out back was great and you get 3 hours.
