1st, I am an accomplished cook, and an accomplished and seasoned 'Foodie'. This was Absolutely the Best and most Authentic Mexican cuisine I am aware of in the North Phoenix/Scottsdale area. The general Manager, Luis, knows his market and his craft which shows in the way his staff makes you feel like the only people in the planet. The decore and layout is clean and stylish. Everything we were served, from cold refreshing water to tortillas to cocktails, to three courses (Chips and a very generous portion of Guacamole, maybe the best Chili Rellano I have ever had in my life and , spectacular Red Posole). Probably the worst Mexican food ever eaten. The chicken in the Fajitas was such a joke and we felt we were eating at a Chinese restaurant as it was shredded and not sliced. They had no authentic Mexican flavors and were sautéed on a skillet with salt and black pepper. It was not even charcoal grilled as other high end restaurants do. The salsa and chips were ordinary and had no wow factor. The server even charged us $2 extra for 2 tortillas that we ordered. She could be more transparent and communicated that to us prior. We literally ended up walking out. From the moment we walked through the door it was the worst customer experience. We made a reservation, showed up five minutes early. There's no one to greet you at the door. People were working but literally nobody acknowledged us and they made us awkwardly stand by the door while they acted like we didn't exist for about five minutes. Once someone did greet us they acted confused about our reservation and disappeared in back leaving us to wait again. Once we finally got our table, they didn't bring us menus or water or anything for a solid 15 minutes until we finally got up and walked out. A complete and total disorganized mess. Corazon De Agave is a hidden gem. We had driven by the location tucked behind a Walgreens to the East of Paradise Valley High School many times and on a whim decided to check it out. We are so glad we did. So much so we've been there four times in the past couple of weeks. Here's why we love it. Unlike a lot of traditional Mexican places the décor is light, modern and welcoming with very cool hanging light fixtures and lots of large colorful agave themed paintings. The welcoming and efficient staff greets you with a smile you will be seated at one of many comfortable tables that are spread apart so you don't feel crowded or cramped. We've been served by Chanel on a couple of visits and she is efficient, friendly and professional. The menu is unique, not like any other Mexican place we've been to in the past. The food is beautifully presented and the emphasis is on flavor minus a lot of gloppy melted cheese and an over abundance of salsa and onions. The service is excellent and the food comes out quickly. The margs are excellent and if you go during happy hour they are just six dollars. If your interested is Mexican food with a twist check it out! This place was fantastic! Great location if you're trying to find something between Scottsdale and Phoenix. It is located in a shopping center but don't let that fool you. This restaurant is decorated beautifully, modern, and excellent service. The food is authentically Mexican. Came here with my parents who are extremely difficult to please when it comes to trying out Mexican restaurants and they absolutely loved the food and drinks. We enjoyed the enchiladas suizas, the molcajete plate, chorizo & queso appetizer, and the shrimp plate. Even the kids loved it. I dont know how this place made the yelp top 100 list. Save yourself the trip and don't come... meal started off with chips a bean dip and 2 salsas.. they were OK. But I think they were for birds with the portion size so small. Ordered drinks, they were good, but not very strong and small for the amount. Next had the quest with chorizo... the cheese was good, but way to stringy... hard to eat... next we had the steak fajitas, only comes with guacamole, rice and beans.. no other sides.. it was pretty bland with the the steak a little tough.. we also had the enchiladas.. those were pretty good, but a bit underwhelming. Then we had church's with soupy ice cream. The ice cream was so melted when they served it to us.. not even sure the Churro's were fresh.. they were warm but bot recently made. Service was not that good either. 2 of us got our meals, but the 3rd one took another 10 minutes. So save the trip and go somewhere else.. its not worth the hype read more

This was the second time a friend of mine and myself went to eat at Corazon. 1st time was way too busy and could not get in. We just happened to arrive earlier this time. While I thought the chips and salsa were good I have had better at other places. I ordered the 3 tacos. Good but again other places better. But the prices are quite high IMO. 3 tacos and an iced tea to drink came to almost $36.00, and with tip over $42.00 which is ridiculous. Came in to this lovely place at happy hour and ordered their house margarita (pictured) which was not only delicious but beautiful as well. Happy hour pricing made it too easy to order two. Definitely stopping there, though. First course ordered the sopasitas, which were a mixture of beans and chorizo topped with lettuce and créma fresca all on top of very tasty English muffin sized masa 'cups'. Again, delicious. M ordered the Camarones al Mojo de Ajo (shrimp in garlic orange sauce) which was perfect. Me? I took Alberto's recommendation and had the Molcajete, a Yucatán traditional stone bowl with shrimp, chicken, steak and fried cheese, roasted cactus in a broth of beans. It was delicious. It was thermally HOT. It was unique to anything I have eaten before (and I was leaning toward chile relleno, which I am sure was also superb, but relatively common). This is our new go to Mexican restaurant! Love the vibe of the restaurant. It's small but has a nice ambience, very trendy and modern. Our server, Enrique, was great. He was very friendly and nice. He recommended the queso fundido for an appetizer. We got flour tortillas and they were small, very warm and delicious. I had the house margarita with a tajin rim and it was a decent size for the price and so good. For entrees we tried the carne asada tacos and chicken fajitas. Everything was so delicious. The meat was tender and very flavorful. We got churros for dessert and they were excellent. They were cooked perfectly, not too overdone or underdone like we have had at other places. This restaurant is gorgeous, like a fine dining experience with lovely, modern decor, cloth napkins and wine glasses used for your water. I went at an off traffic time at 2:30 on a weekday so it was mostly empty when I arrived but people started coming in as soon as I finished. I had the Cochinita Pibil and it was excellent, moist and with a hint of citrus, plus it came with an additional lime to enhance the flavor. This pickled onions were a nice compliment and the rice was perfectly cooked. The chips and salsa were also excellent. Loved both salsas, especially the green poblano, plus the bean dip, and the chips had only a hint of salt which allowed the flavor of the salsa to shine.
