very nice and accommodating. were able to get our large group in on a saturday night and there's not a lot of tables in there. server was very attentive up until it was time to pay. good was pretty good. fundido was amazing, guac was good. quesabirria tacos tasted good but were soggy. disappointing to say the least. read more

Loved it! I'm pretty picky when it comes to Mexican food, but I think I've found my new spot for it in Phoenix. The molcajetes were spectacular and I have plenty of leftovers for lunch tomorrow. My dining companions both had the tampequena and loved it, tons of food and leftovers for them too. Margaritas were strong! This is not a complaint because our server was phenomenal and he was hustling all night, but the restaurant was busy for a Monday night and they could've used an extra server or two. Still, we had a wonderful and will be back. read more

Love the food and atmosphere! Very friendly staff. Service was great and I will go again soon.

First time here for Mother's day lunch. Ambience was great, modern, quite and not busy at all. The food was tasty. We had soup, beef fajitas, tacos and churros- everything tasted good and fresh. The thing I didn't like is that they bring one drink at the time, then it takes another 5 minutes for the second one to come, then after another 3-4 minutes the third person from our party got the drink. (At the time they had 10 people total, so it wasn't busy or anything else to consider). That is the exactly same way how the food was served. I got mine first then I waited 10-15 minutes before everyone got their food. I can't imagine how would be if they were busy. Also, at the beginning we got chips and salsa to share, but we didn't get the little plates for it. The silverware-3 people got 3 completely different sizes forks- looked very miss matched for a nice restaurant. We would go here again, but they need to improve their service since the food is delicious and the restaurant looks exclusive. read more

Corazon De Agave - Scavenged molcajete, chips and salsa. - Mexican Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

This weekend we found a hidden gem. Tucked behind a Walgreens on the corner of 40th/Bell we spotted Corazon De Agave and thought we'd grab a quick lunch. About a year old, this establishment has a modern, minimalist vibe accommodating about 15 tables. (Love the light fixtures!) Luis, the manager was our server. (He also makes a killer Margarita!) He was friendly, offered suggestions and really made us feel welcome. He started us out with some salsas and chips. I fell in love with one of the salsas and Luis gave me a serving to take home. I love ceviche and while I initially thought the price was high, I wasn't expecting a 6" square bowl with a fan of avocado that could easily satisfy a whole table. I ordered the chili rellenos (2 massive stuffed chillis full of seasoned beef) accompanied by rice and refried beans. I always like to try an appetizer, entrée, and dessert at any new restaurant so I left one of the chili rellenos for later and we shared the house-made flan. Yum! I was extremely impressed with everything we ordered (even though it was too much!). The freshness and quality were evident and the presentation was truly artistic. I am used to heat being the primary foundation in Mexican food but you could differentiate the components and flavors of each dish. They hope to make this a neighborhood gathering place and I am glad I'm in the neighborhood! We will definitely be back. read more

We visited this restaurant after researching many Mexican establishments in the area. We are so glad we did! The food was amazing, especially the fish tacos and the pollo enchiladas verde. Scrumptious! The drinks were awesome, the house margaritas were great and Susan had a prickly pear margarita she really liked. The flautas were dry, but the flautas that come with sauces would have been great. Lots of Mexican beer on tap, except Negra Modelo, my favorite. The service was uneven, they gave my enchilada dinner to another guest, so mine was really late, but they comped me a margarita (thanks!) and the wait was so worth it, the enchiladas were amazing. We will be back!!! read more

The was not all that at all for a party of 14 and only get one drink per person and the bill to be almost $900 was Ridiculous and then we asked them to do separate orders for all the parties in a separate check, they still charged a 20% tip, regardless on every single bill. And I think it was just ridiculous , giving them almost a $140 in tip was just Ridiculous, the food was not seasoned at all.The chicken was so overcooked and dry.It was horrible the Molcajete has no flavor the meat was dry No seasoning I Should have just went to maple and ash and would have been worth the money and the food would have been better. We did tell them the food was cold and the chicken was so dry and all they said is sorry and never did anything about it I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone for good food at all I got the 8oz steak with Enchiladas and it was cold when it came to me, my husband is the only one that got his food that was hot bc he got the Fajita steak plate My mom got the steak and shrimp. Her shrimp was cold cold. Her steak was dry and burnt and nobody wanted to complain to me about it because it was my birthday and it was just a horrible experience with the birthday dinners read more

The food is excellent with a great flavor profile so unique from your standard Mexican restaurant. We really liked the sopesitos as a starter. The carne asada tacos were excellent as was the garlic camarones. The flan for dessert was a good size and very good. They lost a star due to the plastic glasses for both the water and margaritas. This is not inexpensive so plastic really takes away from the experience and terrible from a waste standpoint. Also a lot of things come in servings of 3 which doesn't work well to share. Service was very good and with a reservation we were seated on time. read more

My wife and I had lunch this past Labor Day weekend at Corazon De Agave. We were searching for a Brunch place on Yelp and somehow this Mexican restaurant came up. I wasn't looking for Mexican food, but the reviews were outstanding so I had to give it a try. The restaurant is tucked in the Northeast corner of 40th Street and E Bell road, and on the NW side of the strip mall. It's hard to find, but make the effort. Upon entering, the decor is light and modern and had a nice vibe to it. We started with complimentary chips, bean dip and two salsas. They were all excellent. The chips were homemade and fresh and the bean dip was delicious. My wife ordered the Taco Trio and picked the Chicken, Birria and Carne Asada. I had the Cochinita Pibil and it was better than Barrio Queen's version in Desert Ridge. It came on the bone and served with rice and beans. Our server brought out fresh and hot Au Jus that added a nice touch. It also had pickled onions and a few lime wedges to add acidity. I also ordered flour tortillas and they were homemade. The meal was a 10 out of 10 and it's now my wife's favorite Mexican restaurant. We will be back. Our server was Alejandro and he was great. read more

We came here for the first time and really enjoyed our dinner and drinks. The food is really good. The chicken fajitas were full of flavor and love the home made tortillas. Corazon De Agave - Tampiquena Dinner - Mexican Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

When here for lunch with a friend last week. 3.5 stars for the first visit. We didn't order a ton so not a lot to go off of. They are what I refer to as a "white cheese" Mexican place going for more of an upscale vibe. They only had one server and one busser and there got to be about 8 tables. Server was nice but slow... doing that one table at a time thing instead of hitting half and consolidating steps. I got the chicken enchiladas and asked them to sub out one flauta instead of the 3rd enchi which they accommodated. The chicken was a little bland but the green sauce they put on top had a nice flavor. I have a feeling that if they were fully staffed and busier the whole thing, including the food, would have been better. If I go back again I'd get the same thing to try again which is saying something! read more

We stopped by this tucked away gem with the family and were very impressed with their food. Our waitress was very friendly and the service was quick. We ordered the Cadillac margaritas, Enchiladas Rojo, chicken flautas, guacamole and their Mojelete bowl. I really liked their mojelete bowl! Everything was delicious! We came around 3pm on a Sunday and it wasn't too busy. Next time we will have to come back and try their churros. read more

This is an excellent find, the restaurant is beautiful, and, so is the food. They offer a full bar along with several craft cocktail. Their menu is large, offering some of the best Mexican food around. Their chicken enchiladas with mole negro were outstanding. Their Flautas were also excellent. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient. We cannot wait to try other entrees on their menu. read more

I went a little out of my way to make the drive here and boy was it worth it! From the fresh tacos full of flavor to the crispy ice cold drinks, what more can I ask for? As a hot sauce aficionado I find it tough to find a sauce that will challenge me but this one certainly did! The server was such a funny and kind man, and he was fast! I also loved the ambiance- it was soooo trendy. I guarantee if this place was in DT Scottsdale it would be packed 24/7! read more

Food and service was excellent! We started with the chips and guacamole which was really good and they added salsa verde and an orange salsa that was so good. For dinner, we tried the Enchiladas Suizas and the Fajitas with chicken. The green sauce with the enchiladas was delicious, probably my new favorite dish. My husband and I agree this place is now on our "Go-to" list. Luis was an exceptional server with all the knowledge of the salsa ingredients. The restaurant was clean and bright. The music was good and not too loud. read more

The food, service and ambience were fantastic. The manager asked if I wanted to try an off menu item, their burger that they will be putting on the menu soon. It was a 9.6 out of 10 and I'm picky. Probably top 5 burger I've had in AZ. Topped that off with some amazing Flan for dessert. Can't wait to go back and try some high end tequila and more menu items. It was my second visit and it was just as fantastic as the first one. read more

Best birrias! I was introduced to birrias at a small hole in the wall in Atlanta and was hooked. Sadly, I've not been able to find ones that even come close....until now! So good! You know it's a good consume when there's actually meat in it, and they nailed that too. My son didn't love the queso fundido as it was just really thick and he's used to the type you can dip into, this was just a plate of cheese and chorizo...and it did taste good so maybe others will love it. I was surprised the small amount of chips and that they never came with more but loved that it came with beans. Hopefully they'll adjust that since they're new. The dessert was so good! We had fresas con crema for the first time and was super impressed! I didn't venture into a drink as Reid margarita sounded basic from the server and the flavored were just syrup. Maybe next time. ‍ read more

It's your tourist trap, quasi-Mexican flair. People are excited to be on vacation, and Corazon De Agave has presented a fancy-looking website with all the bait (however, not a great mobile UI.) Ok quality food, but lacking flavor. Very nice staff, Uber slow. I picked this place because we had a vegetarian with us, and most of the taco places don't have any vegetarian options except quesadillas. My party of six arrived and we waited, waited, waited. Nice staff, mediocre salsas, food was ok, chips were a weird flour and corn mix. Prices are very steep for what we got. The restaurant was not busy, perhaps 20% of the tables being used, several staff working, just slow. They're upped to three stars for the really nice staff. read more

BEST RESTAURANT ALL AROUND. My husband and I came in for an early dinner on Friday. We were greeted kindly and seated promptly. Beautiful bar and dining room. Enrique was our server and he was friendly, kind, and attentive, without being overbearing. Perfection. We started with the queso fundito and ordered the carne asada tacos and enchiladas suizas per Enrique's recommendations. We ended the meal with the most amazing churros I've ever had! The food, the service, the decor; everything was phenomenal. Hidden gem for sure! We will most certainly be back!! read more

Great atmosphere and service. The food was excellent with good size portions. Definitely on the 'going there again' list.

I'm sorry to say we had a bad experience. Investors were there doing a taste test on new food items, so unfortunately the regular customers were not taking care of. it was a disaster of a night...not once did any Manager stop over to see how our food was! Will not be going back! read more

The tampiqueña was great. Enough for us to share and not finish. Great service and attentiveness

Modern contemporary setting, a small restaurant & bar. Classy setup at each table showed that the owners put a lot into every detail. Being the first weekend of their opening they were very busy. Service was attentive & friendly. Patrick was quick to respond & meet our needs. I had the house margarita, drink choices were many. The food presentation was lovely & plated beautifully. Chips & salsas came with refried beans. We had Carne Asada style tacos, & Chicken fajitas with rice & beans dinner. Finished up with desserts of Flan & Cheese cake. The food was good . The taco meat was tender & good proportion, requested extra salsa. The chicken in the fajita was a bit dry not savory. The rice was a little like sticky rice but good flavor. Looking forward to coming back to try other items offered. Nice addition to the neighborhood. read more
