a BIG fat ZERO! This nightmare started with Custom Plumbing 4/13/25. We had a clog that was preventing the tub/toilets from draining. When we scheduled the appointment with Custom Plumbing, we were assured we would be notified of the cost prior to any work being done outside of the scope of a normal drain unclog. Well, that was the first LIE. We were hit with an invoice that was astronomically higher than what we thought it would be and a recommendation for "damage control" to get involved immediately aka Copper State Home Builders,LLC. We should have known something was fishy when the Manager Jesse Green w/Custom Plumbing kept referring to Copper State as "their Mitigation Team" and how weird it was that they show up almost on demand. Here comes "Ben Davis" with Copper State, sweet kid but REALITY is, he works for the same company that put us in this MIITIGATION nightmare. It seemed as if Ben was all over helping us out once he knew my partner had Progressive Homesite Insurance, and the claim was initiated for the "supposed" water damage and how much damage control was going to be needed, and that the rebuild cost would be included etc. Ben states , his team is in route with the humidifier and blowers and he scheduled us for a follow up with Copper State 4/15/25 & "for the equipment to be picked up & 4/18/25 for the start of the damage control/rebuild process. We were also on schedule 4/15/25 for Custom Plumbing to come back out for another camera inspection and I guess to quote us more fees that make ZERO sense when no one has yet discussed if there was truly a leak and where this leak is/was. Needless to say, the humidifier & dryers arrive 4/13/25, Ben comes in with all these disclosures after speaking to my partners insurance company, assuring us that the insurance company is going to take care of everything for the "damage control & rebuild". That the insurance deductible will be absorbed in the cost and that once the check was cut, she would only have to put have down half to start the remodel and the other half upon completion. We discussed her insurance policy deductible and coverages in detail with Ben to ensure we were all on the same page. He even mentioned how the Insurance company will cover temporary housing for us until the work is done. Let me remind you that all of the above thus far happened on 4/13/25. Now let me be clear that nowhere was it discussed that there was a cost to Copper State for bringing out these dryers and humidifiers & Brian w /Copperstate actually came out 4/14/25 took whatever readings he needed too, said everything was dry and removed the humidifiers/dryers. I assumed that was what was supposed to happen but come 4/15/25 I still confirmed w/Ben that I wasn't expecting anyone from Copper State that day since Brian had already removed the equipment. Fast forward to 4/18/25, two young gentlemen arrive from Copper State, for the start of "damage control/repairs", Before they started any work I had my partner on the phone with Ben and he again reassured her before they started the so called "damage control" that the damage control and all cost to rebuild both her master bath and hallway bath were again included in the amount her insurance company was going to be paying out. I am talking before they started tapping up plastic, walkways walls etc. Before ANYTHING was done Ben reassured my partner that she would not be coming out of pocket.Let me remind you, he dealt directly with the insurance adjuster since 4/13.On, 4/18/25 before the two guys left, they reset one toilet and both sinks but said not to use the bathroom sinks because there was a leak. At this point I am like uhm Ok? The Plumber aka the Manger Jessy Green with Custom Plumbing has been here twice between 4/13/25 & 4/15/25 and never did he mention a leak so WTF?Here we are in a 2-bedroom condo with one toilet being the only facilities we have to use since 4/18/25. My partner has been reaching out on a regular to "Breon Green" with Copper State (hmmm, maybe she is related to Jessy) and Custom plumbing trying to make sense of all of this and today 5/19/25 was the first full conversation she had with a "NaTasha "at Copper State. Natasha claims she spoke with her manager before making the call and here we are! All this time and waiting just to be told that out of the check cut by her insurance company for $12,500, she owes $8,860.15 just to cover the so called "damage control" this breaks down to Copper State bringing out the Humidifiers/Dryers 4/13/25 & the destruction of both bathrooms 4/18/25 & that she will have $3,639.85 to rebuild/remodel both bathrooms and will have to come out of pocket for anything additional. Mind you she hasn't even looked at any materials with Copperstate for the rebuild. TRUST ME when I say to STEER FAR, FAR away from Custom Plumbing and Copper State Home Builders! I had a leak in my garage ceiling overnight. A plumber (not Copper State) came out and fixed the problem that day, and really pushed to get "their mitigation guys" over to handling drying everything out and/or replacing the damaged stuff. Later that day, "their guys" showed up and it's actually Copper State - a different company. Fine, they were already there and it would save me some effort, so I went along with it. They set up 4 air dryers (big suckers) and said it typically takes 3-4 days for the process to be completed. Meanwhile, Jeremy from Copper State waited outside in his truck to meet with my insurance adjuster so they could inspect everything and talk it all through, maybe avoiding any back-and-forth that might happen later. I attended this meeting also, wherein we outlined everything Jeremy needed to quote, viewing and inspecting all kinds of stuff in the garage and the floor and walls upstairs. This concluded with Jeremy telling me and my adjuster that he understood the items that needed quoting and would email us both a quote in the next day or two. Four days later, we started calling them to see when they would be out to pick up their dryers, which have all been running 24 hours a day. They couldn't find our info, but would "look into it and get back to us". We called again the next day, same thing. We then started calling Jeremy and their office 2-3 times a day, and they could never be bothered to figure out who we were or what we needed. A week into this, we finally demanded they come get their stuff out of our house regardless. Cost at this point: $400 power bill increase (presumably half of which was unnecessary) plus some mitigation cost that I still haven't seen, which at least will go into the insurance bucket. Hey Copper State, where's our quote? A few days later: "Sorry for the delay, we'll send it right over" One week later: "Who are you again? We don't have any record of you" Two weeks later: "Hey, I've got that info to send over to you, what's your email address?" Three weeks later: "Hi, we'd like to schedule removal of the air dryers in your garage!" Four weeks later: "We don't do estimates. Your insurance company writes up a quote and then you have us do the work for the amount they are willing to pay. This is how it has always been done. This is how it will always be done. Your insurance company (founded in 1950) must not understand what they're doing. Sign this paperwork so we can do some stuff and worry about money afterward" Look, I'm a pretty patient and reasonable person - hence waiting a month for them to get around to me in the first place. I'm also in the construction business (countertops, unfortunately) and I know things can get a little hectic at times, plus my garage just isn't as important as those people who might be displaced from actually living in their homes. But there comes a point where your treatment of me becomes so grossly negligent, disrespectful, and downright insulting that I can't take it anymore, and today we hit that point. I felt the need to repeat my story here as a cautionary tale so that people with real emergency situations can be forewarned not to waste time with this company, which does not deliver GOOD service or FAST service. As for the cost, I doubt I'll even find out what it is anytime soon. In the end, they failed to resuscitate my garage and it all has to be replaced - and now a month has passed during which my wife was on maternity leave and scheduling the repairs would have been much easier for us. I have seen some Elite Yelper reviews and I am going to try and do the same for this review. My home flooded back on December 3rd. After speaking with the company's lead project manager, an emergency team arrived after 15 minutes. Yes, 15 minutes - that's faster than some law enforcement responses. Two technicians began to make assessments of the damage; which was sadly significant. And they went right to work. Later that night I was contacted by the owner, who informed me that he was sending in all of his emergency techs; bringing all hands on deck as I would say. He also informed me that he would be waiving a large portion of my deductible because I had a Purple Heart; which was a huge relief as I was standing in a water drenched home. Furthermore, because it was "going to be a late night" he also offered to put my wife and I into a hotel, stating he would float the bill until my insurance reimbursed him. I was astonished at such gestures - and it meant more than words can describe. My wife headed to the hotel and I stayed with the 8 technicians that had arrived. Come to find out it had been one of their biggest weeks, some of them already having a 14 hour day prior to coming to my home. Yet, every individual exceeded my standards in terms of professionalism. In fact, at midnight they were hosing down and sweeping the drywall chalk off my neighborhood's asphalt road "leaving it cleaner than before they arrived." I even tried to get them to go home and get some sleep stating we had street sweepers and they refused to leave any trace of residue on the road. It has taken almost three months, four insurance adjusters, and many phone calls but my home is more beautiful than before. This company is stellar and understands insurance companies move at a snails pace. I did some research on Copper State and was astonished it was a small business. They deserve to be publicly thanked. Well, I am not sure if I will ever become an Elite Yelper, my hand is cramping from typing just one large review. But the amount of stress they saved me is worth a little bit of finger discomfort. I usually don't go out of my way to do this stuff but these guys have been so awesome, I felt I owed it to them. My house had a pretty significant flood and i was stuck between a rock and a hard place. I asked around on Facebook for help and a friend referred me to these guys. I reached out and within 10 minutes I already had a next-day appointment set up. I still haven't even been contacted by the other companies i reached out to. One of the supervisors, Jeremy, gave me his personal cell and let me know to call him if i ever needed ANYTHING throughout the process. These guys showed up on time, walked me through the entire process before I committed to anything, and kept it 100% honest and straight forward. That's extremely rare to come by these days, so i was taken back. Most companies just want to take your money, these guys told me what i needed done, how long it will take, and they laid out their game-plan with me. Coming from a construction background, again I was very impressed. As soon as I gave them the go ahead the guys went to work. Tremendous work ethic, very courteous and mindful that they were in my home. They made sure to check in with me multiple times to see if they were being too loud, or if i needed anything. It really has been an awesome experience. They are thorough, quick, deliberate, and professional. They got so much work done in so little amount of time it's truly phenomenal. Jeremy and Joel are the supervisors, and they are awesome people. They are on top of their team and extremely detail oriented. Blake, Ryan, and Nik are a few others who's name I remember. All of them are amazing workers and on top of everything. Normally when contractors come into one of my properties I feel like I have to watch over them to make sure everything is being done right, these guys are true professionals, and I trust them in my own home so i don't have to worry about monitoring them. Integrity, professionalism, and expedient above and beyond service apply to the crew that was sent by Copper State Home Builders! The crew of Luis, Javier, and Pete was so positive, pleasant, and professional during what turned out to be an extremely challenging job! The jacuzzi tub in our master bathroom had a leak underneath it requiring the tub to be removed in order for the plumber to repair it. Two plumbing companies told my husband and I that, in order to do the repair, we were responsible for finding a company to remove the tub. We were also told our tub would need to be replaced after the repair because jacuzzi tubs typically are destroyed during removal. I wanted to try to find a company willing to at least try to salvage the tub during removal, as our jacuzzi tub wasn't even 10 years old. A third plumbing company referred us to Copper State Home Builders. Luis arrived first and he contacted my homeowners insurance to start a claim before the rest of the crew arrived. The crew arrived promptly and then proceeded over the next 3 1/2 hours to get the job done! They protected the floors and vanities with plastic, removed the faux marble surrounding the tub (which included getting through the extremely strong adhesive glue), removed the insulation, and then lifted the tub and carried it out to the back patio intact! The crew cleaned up thoroughly and left the master bathroom ready for the plumbing repair! All demonstrated an outstanding work ethic, which is rare today! The condo above ours had a bunch of hidden leaks that caused a lot of damage and mold long before anyone knew there was a problem. By the time we saw water and called a plumber, the plumber immediately knew a mitigation team was needed due to the presence of a ton of mold. Copper State was there an hour later and had everything beginning to dry out within a few hours. Over the course of the next few days, the leak was found, patched, and complete drying took place. This was all quick and excellent mitigation work by Jeremy and his fellow crew members. What I didn't know, was that Copper State would be doing work for me for the next 3 months. For the next 3 months David Burbey, our project manager would help me fight tooth and nail with the HOA management company to get this bill paid. The HOA management representative was completely useless, so Dave helped me inform every adjuster, board member, neighbor, etc. on exactly what was going on, so that the board could hold a vote to force the HOA management representative to get with the program and do her 10 minutes of work. Dave spent 85 days working with me to get the bill paid, so that I wouldn't have to pay it out of my pocket because I had done nothing wrong. I just happened to purchase a unit underneath someone who thought it wasn't a big deal to let their water heater leak for years. The sewer line in my Mother's Park Trailer cracked, and spilled sewage under her home. It needed mitigation. I was visiting my mother to assess her health and mental condition. While I was there, I determined that she needed memory care and hospice. I also discovered had she had sewer problem, So off to YELP I go to find a plumber. The very next day the plumber showed up and determined that the issue was definitely out of his scope, so he called Copper State. Gene Faulkinbury arrived and was amazing! He assessed the problem, called a mediation team to show up that day to start the process, and called the Insurance agent and started the process for a claim. While he was doing all that...I was conducting in-home visits and assessments with the Care Facility personnel and also the Hospice people. I know that without Gene's help and guidance, the whole process would have been a complete nightmare. Also a huge shout-out to Kylie Boushey, their Office Coordinator. She stayed on top of the Claims process for me and kept me informed during the entire process. As an aside, my mother passed away 6 days after being admitted to the Care Facility. ALL the Copper State personnel where kind and considerate of my grief and extended condolences in every encounter and correspondence. Thank you! Over the last two years, we have used Copper State on three major household projects and have been very pleased with the results. Before purchasing solar panels, we received a detailed estimate for our roof job. Copper State removed our tile roof, replaced the underlayment and shingles in the appropriate area and put the tiles back on our roof. The Copper State workers completed the job in a short time and entirely cleaned up the mess. Our second job with Copper State was having the exterior of the house painted. Again we received a detailed estimate. The outside surface was first pressure washed and the cracks and holes in the stucco were patched and caulked. The painting was completed and no mess was left. Since we were not at home at the time, Isaac took pictures of the job and sent them to us. He followed up to make sure that we were happy with the result. Recently, we had the entire interior of our house painted by Copper State. John spent time with us picking out colors that complemented our home and furniture. Throughout the job, he came to the house to check on the progress of the workers and to make sure that we were satisfied. The painters cleaned up our home very well. We had a leak in our water heater. CNJ Services recommended Copper State to mitigate and do the repairs. They were very quick to get there and help mitigate the water damage it the walls. All the staff were very friendly and helped explain the whole process. My home insurance was very familiar with Copper State and said they work with them all the time. They even went as far as to say that based on other cases I should be in great hands with them. Overall the mitigation process was quick and painless and everything was handled between them and the insurance company. The repair work was also done by Copper State. It took a few more days than I would have like to get the repair work scheduled but not really enough to have it be a problem. I was just anxious to get everything done. The repair work was all done in a day and done with such great detail that I would never know anything ever happened. I was seriously impressed with the level of care that the work was done with. Marco was the one sent out to do all the repairs and he was fantastic. Very friendly and I could tell very quickly that he was a man that took pride in his work. just as the 5 star rating says, "woohoo! as good as it gets!" is absolutely correct. copper state agreed to assist us even though we were out of their typical service area (we live in prescott)... our home had flooded and because we live in a single story the water pretty much got everywhere. the first part of the claim went really fast... they had set up equipment and pulled drywall off all the areas that had gotten wet. from there things slowed down... but that was because of my insurance claim rep who dropped the ball. the reason I bring this up is copper state fought for me, they stayed on my rep to make sure we were able to get insurance payments fast. clint said this is part of the insurance game, that they will put you on the back burner if you let them. and to be honest, i dont have the energy to fight my insurance for them to do the right thing. this is just another reason why i am so grateful for copper state. now that everything is said and done i have a beautfil home just in time for the holidays. let me rephrase.,... i have an even more beautiful home than i did before. thank you again... i will make sure all of our friends in the valley use you for whatever construction needs arise.... thank you! The carpet, drywall, tile and bathroom vanities were all damaged from the water. The subcontractors didn't complete the work as agreed to. I felt as soon as Copper State received their deductible, everything came to a halt. It took over 3 months to get her house back to normal. And even then, I am having to finish things such as, replacement of mirrors, patch holes, remove trash, etc. that they were suppose to do. I was the one calling them all the time to get a status on her house. When I called their office, I was always speaking to someone new and had to explain the whole situation over and over. I felt they were a very unorganized company and did not follow through on their jobs. They say they will return your calls, but never do. You end up chasing them down to get your questions answered! I wish I could have chosen another company, if I had known before her insurance called them. I know people in the same industry that would have recommended a better professional company.
