Do not go to conns! As there name states they are conns! We got a couch from them against our better judgment!!! The couch we got was leased in 2019. The couch was cheaply made and broke under the weight of my 105 pound wife. When we filed a claim under there "warranty" we were told it would not be covered, so the sofa went in the garbage a year after arguing back and forth under the warranty. Now here we are in 2024 being sued by conns and having to go to court 5 yrs after the garbage that was delivered broke and was not covered with the fake warranty they provide. So I decided to email the address for Conns. What a joke. People don't waste your time, they did nothing to resolve the problem. In fact they called tech guy and whatever he said they wrote it in an email and said they will not replace the washer machine. I also was given directions once again how to wash my clothes and what detergent to use. This is very insulting! I just washed a blanket and as you can see I had to wash it again because the detergent (HE) was stuck on the blanket. Why??? there was hardly any water in the machine and the pods never resolved. NEVER PURCHASE!!! I Purchased a couch and when I went to pay it off, it was like pulling teeth. They definitely don't want you to pay off your account so they can collect on interest. I asked several times to get a payoff emailed to me because you can't get any kind of statement off your actual account. I was told both by email and by a human being that it would be emailed. I wish I had read the reviews before shopping at Conn's. THE WORST customer service experience ever. I'll spare you the gory details but they delivered the wrong furniture to me (there was a sofa arm in the MIDDLE of my sectional sofa and a corner piece with a large silver connector on the side that shouldn't be there (see photos). The delivery people's response was "well, you ordered it". James, the store manager, did absolutely everything in his power to avoid my calls (came in late, 3-hour lunch, busy with another customer....) James was completely worthless. This is one of the worst and rudest places I have ever dealt with, my most negative experience with any business; ever. I advise anyone thinking of going through Conns to rethink it. The problem: i got a 65" Samsung TV through them, I have made all of my payments on time. The television went out, completely dead. I called Conns support to get it repaired and it took them a week to get someone here. When he got here he just took it apart and said "yep, it's broken..." then put it back together, said he had to order parts and left. 3 weeks later I still had no TV. I called to follow up numerous times, they argued with me, yelled at me and even hung up on me once. I was frustrated yes, but civil. When they took a hostile approach I got upset and tried to argue back to them my case and they kept interrupting and cutting me off. Still no TV and I am obviously making no progress with these people. So I called Samsung to use warranty through them on the TV and they were out here and had it fixed in 4 days time. I do not recommend anyone get into a contract with these people! Save yourself some heartache, use rent-to-own if you need to but stay away from Conns. read more

Never buy from CONNS. CANNOT TRUST THE STAFF!!!! The manager John did NOT tell me how sensitive it would be moving the TV. I DID NOT DROP THE TV he knew there was high risk of me transporting the 75 inch TV. He said nothing. He also stated that he himself moved a 55 inch TV with no problem. We have been paying off a tv now for a couple years, didn't just buy it out right because we were trying to build up our credit. We have been harassed monthly. We have received 120 calls in 14 days! If you are going to Conn's Elizabeth at Southpark Meadows in Austin was the most helpful sales associate I've worked with in a very long time. The particular item I wanted was back ordered (and it clearly stated that online when I decided to purchase it so that was not an issue). I saw online where it became available and called their delivery number to see if I could get it delivered sooner than the original time. The guy I spoke with was not wanting to 'look into it' he just said my delivery date was still the original delivery date and they would call me if they could do it sooner. I decided I would call the store and speak with Elizabeth, the sales associate that originally helped me because she was so friendly the first time I met her, just to see if she could help me out. She made a phone call and then gave me the news it would be delivered to me the next day. I'm thankful to her for going the extra mile to assist me when others would not. She was amazing. Our refrigerator went out and we had a graduation party planned for Saturday. I called Conn's Home Plus and Sid stated that they had the refrigerator "in stock" and can be picked up. My wife and I went by later that day after driving over an hour to get to the store to speak to the salesman (Mondo) which I spoke with about the refrigerator. After waiting almost 45 minutes for him we ended up with another representative. He explained that the refrigerator was actually in San Antonio and had we ordered before 6:00 pm we would have received the refrigerator on Friday. The problem it was after 6:00 pm by the time we discussed the refrigerator. We offered to purchase the floor model but the sales rep stated that he would have to get his managers approval. After waiting for over an hour he finally told us that the manager was off and had not returned his phone message. He said he would call us after he spoke to the manager. He never called so we called back the next day. The manager we spoke with (Andrew) stated that Mondo was off that day and that he was not allowed to sell us the floor model. I contacted corporate Customer Service and spoke with a supervisor and she apologized but she could not do anything to help. It was clear Conn's does not care about Customer Service and has chosen to practice the "Bait and Switch" method of sales. Needless to say I now see why Conn's has such a poor rating. I've never had such a negative experience with a retailer. The company might actually be 100% unadulterated evil incarnate. Like comic book villian-level evil. So bad that it must be fiction. Alas, no. Conn's is real. Conn's offers really easy credit. Buyer beware. They will deliver you broken items and hope you fail to pay your credit card bill out of frustration. No matter what, pay your bill and work out the defective product issues later! At one point, we called corporate. The first thing the rep did was accuse us of not paying our credit card. The customer "service" rep was speechless when she verified that our account was current. My impression was that they want to bend you over a barrel by threatening you for missing payments. They think you'll be too scared to keep complaining. Don't fall for it. My story: They delivered a wonky fridge and promised to come back to fix it. Never happened. I also ordered a vent hood and paid for installation. The slobs who delivered the items came at 9:00 at night--many hours after they were supposed to be there. They then REFUSED to install the vent hood! What?! Several calls later, they sent out two sets of moronically incompetent fools to install it. They broke the vent hood. Seriously. Broke it. Then Conns sent out another installer who confirmed that the previous installers had, indeed, ruined the hood with their buffoonery. Did Conn's do anything after that? Nope. My advice: 1) Give them 3 chances to fix the problems; 2) Pay the credit card on time no matter what; 3) Keep records of who you spoke with and what they said; and 4) Get a lawyer who does DTPA involved. UPDATE: Evidently, a marketing manager from CRST, the company who contracts with Conn's for installation, saw my review. He called me last Friday at 9pm. I explained the situation and my outrage over it. He thought it was reasonable to request resolution and said he would follow-up with management. He told me that I could expect a call on Monday with further details on when an electrician could come out and rewire my disposal. I haven't heard from him since. This has been a six-week nightmare. I will NEVER ever set foot inside a Conn's store again. CONn's is a good name for this business because I certainly got conned, not only by the company but by their installers. I bought a new dishwasher from Conn's and paid for installation. The man who installed it told me that I needed a dedicated electrical outlet before he would attempt installation. I paid $160 for a dedicated outlet. He explained that he was going to separate the original wiring which wired the old dishwasher and disposal together in the same outlet. I didn't have any knowledge of what that meant since I am not an electrician. He didn't explain that my disposal would no longer work after he did that. I didn't find out until he left. I called Conn's requesting resolution and they referred me to Customer Service. Hold times at the customer service number are interminable. Appointments were made and canceled or either they didn't show. Innumerable calls later, the installation contractors finally send a technician. He was an honest man. He told me that I did not need a dedicated outlet for the dishwasher, that the installer could have wired it in the same way as the previous dishwasher. Basically, I was conned out of $160. This technician was a plumber and not certified to do electrical work. So, he said that I needed to call Conn's again to request services from an electrician. I called Customer Service again. I explained my absolute exasperation. She said she understood because she gets calls like mine all day every day. She was honest and told me that my demand for resolution would go nowhere after talking with her. That was Conn's customer service standard operating procedure. I then took it up with the manager at the Conn's where I bought the dishwasher. At first he said he would be a liaison between me and the installation company and would make the situation right. Now, weeks later, I learned from the Conn's manager that the contracted installers WILL NOT come out and wire our disposal back into the outlet, which is a simple repair by a certified electrician. He said there is NOTHING that Conn's can do about it. I now have to hire an electrician to fix a problem that Conn's and their installers caused. I just wanted a dishwasher. Now I have to pay the exorbitant cost of an electrician on top of the $160 I already lost. If you are reading this review, please take it as a red flag. Conn's DOES NOT care. They will leave you high and dry after getting your money. My next letter is to the Better Business Bureau. read more

We were harassed for lack of payment on an account that should have been closed bc we had to redo the paperwork it took them 2 mths to fix the problem. Our couch doesn't work and we were smart got the insurance. The couch isnt a year old. Took us 3 and 1/2 weeks to get a person on the phone. No one and I mean no one helped. I finally got smart and pushed that I was a repair service took 5 min. No w I have to send photos that takes 3 days to look at and then they will send a technician to look at it. Bought a 2000 dollar laptop from here and the day I brought it home keys fell off of the keyboard, the next day 4 more keys fell off the key board, have tried getting in touch with management to discuss return or replacement and can never ever get in touch with a manager have been told a manager will call me back and never does. My sales person was Bill, and he lied to me from jump. I was approved for $5,000 same as cash and they're having a Labor Day sale which brings their prices in line with other stores. I got an email from Conns right away stating that I had to bring a copy of homeowners or renters insurance in my name. I get it, it's financed. I called Bill and said "the insurance is in my girlfriends name, will this be an issue?" He said "who told you you needed that!!!??" and told me it was NO PROBLEM to just come on down and he would get me all fixed up. I make 3 trips there, mainly because their fax machine from 1981 can't scan documents right, so I was asked to bring in my ID numerous times. After making several trips I decided on what I wanted, a 4K 65inch LG TV, which was actually at Best Buy for around $500 more. I was super impressed with their price because normally they totally jack the prices up. I had given him the insurance docs and all my information earlier so I only had to sign the paperwork. I signed a couple things and then BAM, Bill's lies begin to appear. He said casually "I *had* to add $306 here for insurance, go ahead and sign there. I said WOAH WOAH WOAH, you said my policy would be fine. I said to Bill "I asked you this specific question before I even came to the store and you told me to bring the policy and come on in". Bill then lied to me again and said "I don't remember that at all". I said Bill, not only did we have two conversations about this on the phone and on the couch, but you have my policy right over there in someone else's name. I call BULLSHIT. I totally get the reasoning for paying the insurance like I said, I just didn't appreciate the lies. I told Bill that it was pretty shitty for him to try to lie to me. I told him that I'm not his normal customer: I'm not desperate for a TV and I have good credit. I only went with them because they were cheaper than Best Buy. Period. As Bill and his manager looked on, I ripped up the contract and left. I called the Conn's store north and let them know I would be coming to use my credit there and they told me that Bill had finalized the invoice before even getting my signatures. The invoices are only supposed to be finalized when the contracts are signed. I had to get them to cancel it, which was another nightmare. The salesman told me that the interest will start up a year from the point of sale and I would only be paying interest on what was left on the sale of 25%. The salesman actually lied to me and I found out that it was 25% interest rate from the point of sale. I do not recommend anyone going to this establishment and getting a payment on anything. Very vulture-type salesmen at this store. Their stuff is generally overpriced compared to other furniture stores. When we pointed out how high the interest rates seemed with financing the salesman repeatedly said "OH NO, NO WAY, ZERO PERCENT INTEREST" until my boyfriend picked up the sign (you can see this on literally any of them) that showed the price, and then the price with payments which is considerably more. He said "oh, that's 20%, if you don't get the credit approval, you got me there!" Why not just be real right off the bat? I would give them a 0 if I could We purchased pleather couches from here and within 6 months they peeled. We called to complain since we got the warranty and we were told there was nothing they could do. Fast forward to a year later we though we would get new ones. We were then told they could have done something and they are contacting the warranty but go ahead and get your couches. If you get anything back, we will credit the account. Well, your warranty approved to credit us but we have to make a purchase, they can't credit our account. What the f??? So now we have new furniture and aren't going to get credited. So we owe the full amount and have a full credit and don't need anything else. It is very upsetting that we were told to go ahead and make the purchase did that we'd be credited. We could have waited instead. That just makes no UPDATE: I've been trying to contact the manager at the south location because they "promised" to clear the account within 30 days. Now my account is negative and I'm hoping it doesn't show on my credit report. It's been a week, tomorrow and no reply. This has been such a hassle. My fiancé got a bedroom set, mattress and living room set. It was supposed to be next day delivery which never happenend. But it was the Labor Day weekend so she agreed to have it delivered on Monday which was Labor Day. The time frame was between 2-5pm. They movers called and informed us that it was going to be an hour more. I mean we have our family to visit and it being Labor Day, a lot of other things to do. They didn't show up till 1045pm. Came in and dropped off our stuff without fixing any of our stuff. Also, they didn't pack our bedroom set correctly and forgot the slats. The guy "jake" was an infantry vet just like how I was and he said he will deliver them to us the following day and gave me his personal phone number. So we had to sleep on the ground because I'm not sleeping on the ground with a new mattress. The next day I call all day, when I say all day it was phone tag all day. No one wants to take responsibility for anything. They ran me around and this is my third day getting a hold of their team which has been nothing but a nightmare. The managers even gave me a guys number to call, little do I know, he is in Houston tending to his dying grandma. Complete shit show. Never ever ever will I go here. Omg we just want what is ours and never deal with this again. Conns says it. Update on this review. This lady Jennifer that said she will help wasn't any help at all. She was going to investigate the situation but of course it didn't go like she said. They promised a credit to our account and I don't believe anything they say. I have been a customer for years . This year we decided to buy another fridge from Conn's . Which I thought would be a great new item in our home . Well I was wrong . This new fridge has been a lemon from the start . We had to make a service call the first 2 weeks of the fridge being here. The nice Technician comes out and he notices he can not fix the problem and says for us to call and request another service call . Wait Why? If you can't fix the problem the first time why call for someone else? So here we are still with a fridge that we can not use . The Manager says we can't return it because we are now past our 30 day return policy . Well if I don't pay for a broken fridge this will go against my credit report and then there will be a repo in my record for non payment. Let's get this straight I have been calling and given the run around to this day and still no word from another Manager who was suppose to call . But yet you still want my money? I bought a stainless steel French door fridge in 2014, upon delivery this unit was damaged with dents and scratches to the doors, I called and spoke with I believe Tom service manager and the agreement was that the company would take 3 payments off at the end of my contract. So now I'm down to 6 payments so I called customer service to find out the status on this and was informed that nothing had been documented regarding this so it is my word against the company. I then sent an email to the company stating that if this matter wasn't resolved I would not pay another payment on this account, to say the least no one has responded to the email or called me regarding this matter. Background: TV is under warranty. It has dead pixels and I was told the entire panel needs to be changed. Appt.#1 2/26 - Took off work for this appointment. Tech called at 8:30 am, scheduled for 3:30 - 5:30 pm. Arrived at 4:30 pm, too sick to work. Immediately rescheduled the call for Saturday, 3/2. 3/2 - No tech called between 7 am - 9 am as indicated. I called the service center at 9:30 am and they informed me that the tech would be out between 11 am - 1pm and gave the tech's phone number. At 12:40 pm, I called the tech to confirm. He informed me that he did not have the part, that it was in the truck of the first tech that was sick. How did one full week go by and he didn't realize he didn't have my part???? I called the service center and spoke to a rep who escalated me to a manager. I requested another Saturday appointment for the 2nd inconvenience but was told there were no opening. I requested an escalation and exception. They said she was going to ask her tech supervisor. I requested that she call me back. Unacceptable that I have to do all of the leg work for my appointment. Do not shop at Conn's Home Plus, a couple of things as a consumer you should be aware of. First there No Hassle, Low Price Guarantee with any advertise price has to be a national retailer (Best Buy) and not a local retailer (A&B TV). Second once you purchase a item and decide to return that item within 14 days you have to pay a 15% restocking fee. Example $3500 purchase you pay $525 to return that item. No luck calling the corporate office to match a local competitor pricing or waving the restocking fee. Something to consider when shopping at Conn's !! read more

I was informed that they had gotten into trouble in the past for not providing the correct information, not given a contract and they also added the warranty to the price that raised it to almost $900. Progressive apologized, contacted Conns about their mistakes and agreed to pick up the washer for free since I called within 5 days. Conns did not tell me that part either. read more
