My experience at Home consignment center was good. It's like thrifting around. You can't really inspect the furniture because it's crammed in tightly with other furniture. I got a leather love seat and leather chair with an ottoman. After I got it home, it had cheaply made legs with some not screwed in correctly. That's on me for not inspecting them more. ONE STAR FOR THE DELIVERY COMPANY THAT THEY USED. I scheduled a delivery, then they changed it twice to accommodate their schedule. When they did come, they came 30 minutes early and I couldn't make it home in time. My son had to pay them. The store is less than 10 minutes from my house. They charged $100/hour. When they delivered, the men insisted on $300. I called the owner for a receipt. She wouldn't call me back. They saw a chance to be dishonest and they took it. And, the legs had scrapes and damage that I'm sure wasn't there before. read more

The payout is 60 days. The Home Consignment Center in Bee Cave has been immeasurably helpful to me in my effort to move out of state. Murrial and the team walked me through everything that needed to happen to get my things out of storage and into their showroom. Murrial met me at my storage unit with movers and monitored the whole process, telling me what they would and wouldn't take right on the spot. She couldn't have been more helpful! I checked out this place since I was seeking a bistro table and chairs but for a consignment business it was pretty expensive. I do have quality items I have owned but never paid this much for used furniture. I rather pay for expensive new items. Needless to say I stopped in to try to see what is available to me but found real quality merchandise that is way over priced since you can go buy new stuff anywhere on line but Home Consignment was not for me. But who knows what the future brings I would come back again and see what else is great products for reasonable prices. Located at the intersection of 620 and bee caves parkway area. So it looks like a hit or miss place to find good deals but didn't work for me. Next time I will check out diamonds here seems they are quite beautiful items to buy. read more

We have bought several pieces of furniture for our vacation home and have been happy with the pieces. We bought a couch & dining table a few years ago that look exactly as they did when we purchased them. We wanted to rearrange our furniture in the house so I asked if they would take those two pieces for consignment. I was told that the table had knicks & scratches so they would not take either, it is EXACTLY how we bought it. The last couple of of years the staff are not as helpful or friendly. We have told many people over the last few years about this store but will no longer recommend the store or shop there. read more

I used to find some good stuff here. The last few times I've gone in, their prices have skyrocketed, it's no longer reasonably priced for used furniture. And they also seem to be getting in a bunch of "new" furniture that's their own line or something and none of it is unique or high quality. This store is now just overpriced in general. I have a morbid fascination with consignment furniture stores. Even more so than estate sales. I love walking around and looking at ridiculous dinning tables that can seat 12 people or couches that are bigger than my living room and saying to myself, "what happened to this family that they would give up a 40 foot long custom made suede sectional couch?" The story is probably not as fraught with disgrace and debt as I like to imagine, probably they thought, "What were we thinking getting that suede couch in butterscotch? We should have gotten done in mocha." or "This dinning table really isn't big enough now that Daphne's twins are big enough to sit at the table too, we really need to get one that seats 14 people." But even the thoughts that someone got rid of a 100% mahogany bedroom set because it was a little out of fashion or had to upgrade their living room set to accommodate a bigger family is fun to imagine too. This is obviously the type of place that you have to come to on a semi-regular basis because the stock is always changing. I chatted with one woman who said she comes in about once ever six weeks, and though she doesn't need anything, she has many grandchildren still in need of furniture and she calls them, then send them a photo to see if they want it, and the offer expires if they don't let her know before she leaves the store. That's cause the thing you see and want will be gone if you leave and try to come back for it. I saw a gorgeous vanity there that had 9 drawers, inset center so the use can get closer to the mirror, AND it came with the tri-fold mirror attached! I would have bought that in a heartbeat and passed off my current vanity to a friend or Craigslist. But of course, it was already sold. :( There were also many smaller dining room sets that were for the most part, very nice and unique. One was the solid cross section of the tree, so all the points went towards the center or something. It was gorgeous and less than $500 I think, with all six chairs. There is some imposter, Ikea looking furniture mixed in here, but for every BILLY bookcase I saw, I saw five gilt antique mirrors or one solid wood desk with the leather-inlaid blotters and velvet lined drawers. I was surprised by the prices for the most part, very reasonable for what the items were. People complaining about the price should go buy stuff at Walmart and Ikea I guess. The huge 40 ft suede couch I mentioned? $1498. That is just a steal (and it was on hold, though I may call and put my name on the list). A cheap leather bonded sectional half the size is $3k new. All wood dining tables with all the chairs less than $500, another steal. A new particle board POS at IKEA costs the same and won't make it through one move, let alone being passed down through generations. Some things were priced ridiculously, for unknown reasons: the cheapo made in China outdoor table and chairs in the shape of mushrooms? $269. No. The weird standing chest thing with the coy fish on it? $700 and something. No. One thing that I could not believe was the jewelry they have in this place. Of course, all the pieces I liked had two numbers followed by "k"s on them. Yes, I saw a solitaire slider on a necklace that was priced at $13k. It looked like citrine and zirconia to me, but maybe it was citrine with diamonds. There were huge sparkly rings priced in the thousands and even some necklaces that were out called "fool's gold" but they were still priced at $500. I guess you'd be a fool to buy that. If you're a jewelry aficionado and know how to tell the value of things, this may be the place for you, as some of these items may actually be a good deal to a trained eye. All and all, though I didn't buy anything, it was a great adventure that I didn't intend to take. The ladies were very helpful in telling me the Banana Republic was in fact, on the other side of the street. I thought it was on the west side and had literally just heard an ad on the radio for Home Consignment Center as I was turning in, saw the sign, and decided to go in since I am looking for a new couch. We visited the other Home Consignment Center earlier today but as they didn't have anything we liked, we decided to try our luck at this location. It's a long drive all the way out to Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave, but in this case well worth it because we found the most amazing coffee table ever. It was love at first sight! The table is made from just two pieces of wood: the top is a huge, smooth piece of driftwood and the bottom is a piece of trunk. I know, it sounds weird, vaguely Swiss Family Robinson-ish even, but truly, it is beautiful. And unique. And soooooo different from the rest of the stuff HCC had in their store. Most of their stock seems more suited for larger houses with spacious rooms, something our house is not. To whoever consigned that table at HCC, please know that it has now found a good home! read more

Approved our items via photos. we drove an hour to bring them to Bee Cave location unloaded them then only to be told by manager that they had too many of these items so changed their mind about accepting. Very non-caring attitude about our time and inconvenience. There are other Home Consignment locations which are operated independently. If you're a bargain hunter or like to really dig in to find possibly cool deals that might be the place for you. Do not expect it to be organized in any way, it's a jungle in there! Consignment are from individuals or businesses so you can see gently used or brand new pieces. There is enough for every taste, but it will take you at least an hour to discover everything there is in there. I bought twice from this place, and I think their take it home and think about it for 24hrs option cool. So you can test-drive it and return it the next day if you change your mind. We have been shopping off and on at this store for years. I must say I was shocked when we went in today and they have both restrooms closed to customers. I asked about it and they said go next door and use that stores bathroom. To me this is not acceptable. Bathrooms are open everywhere again now and to still have them both closed and tell customers to go next door to use the restroom at the neighboring stores is ridiculous. I don't know if they are being lazy and don't want to clean them or what but I am unaware of any stores out here who still have their bathrooms shut down because of covid. I make a habit of making donations at Goodwill. When I do I normally take a quick spin through the store just in case there's a hidden gem. When I read the review that referred to this store as a glorified Goodwill I felt compelled to counter that total misrepresentation. We own vacation rental properties and in part have furnished them with items from this store. Over the last two years its safe to say that we have purchased several dozen pieces. Without exception they have been priced reasonably and in some cases sold at less than sticker based on our offers. In addition, we have consigned many of our own pieces and have referred friends there as well. The service has always been good and when we call ahead the pieces are at the back roll up door ready for pick up. Unlike some other local consignment stores there's ALWAYS plenty of muscle to help you load. At any given time you will find upscale furnishings many direct from the manufacturer. We've purchased pieces from Macy's, Restoration Hardware and others. A Goodwill? I think not! read more

This place is nothing more than a glorified Goodwill, it even has that musty Goodwill smell inside. At least Goodwill is super cheap, not here. 95% of their stuff is either damaged, pure junk, already sold, or overpriced to begin with. Their customer service is not only bad it's not existent. Of all the times I've been in here not once have I ever been acknowledged by any employee. When I finally hunt down a worker and ask about a piece 9 times out of 10 they know absolutely nothing about it. The one time he did I'm pretty sure he was just making stuff up. Shoppers seriously beware. Many times I've found a decent looking piece only to pick it up to find a price tag from a different store (Target, Home Goods, Garden Ridge, etc.) attached to it at a way cheaper price. Much to my chagrin (I hate shopping) this has become a regular stop on Saturdays. While a lot of the furniture is over-priced (due to the furniture owners being overly proud of their stuff), if you make a lap through the place regularly, you can find all kinds of gems. Still turned off, but manager apologized and says she's aware of problems with her employees; especially poor customer service. Let's sincerely wish her well! This is in response to a post by Home Consignment Center at Bee Cave Parkway dated 6/13/15 where they responded to my summary of our terrible experience at their location. I have absolutely no problem with the store's policies and procedures, but this particular store is out of integrity by not following their own systems. They say they tag pieces for hold, enter them into a computer system, track the dates and take back up holds, but they did not follow this policy with me. It was a Sunday evening when we purchased and paid for a dining set, and as we were leaving several other pieces caught my eye. I grabbed 2 accessories for immediate purchase and sought help for 2 pieces of furniture I was interested in. At this location, you literally have to search for help. When I finally found one person in the back of the store who wasn't talking on a phone (phone customers really seem to take priority over in-store customers at this location), I explained to her we'd been into the store multiple times and made multiple purchases, and that I needed some help. I said I wanted a particular desk but needed to measure for it at home, and that I wasn't sure about a sofa I liked since the matching chair and ottoman had already been sold. The clerk said she knew exactly what I was looking for in the way of a sofa set, gave me her card and said she'd call me if something similar came in. She then put hold tags on the desk and sofa. On Monday afternoon I called the same clerk, asked her to keep the hold on the desk because I was coming in to pay for it, said I didn't want the sofa, and the hold tag could be removed. I said I'd be in tomorrow to pay for the desk and looked forward to shopping for more, in hopes we'd find a sofa set to meet our needs. The "rest of the story" is in the previous review and doesn't need repeating. Here's what will keep me from ever stepping foot in the Bee Cave location: When I went in to pay for the desk and there was another "hold" tag on top of my tag, the employees clustered together, whispering loudly as they tried to justify how they were right and I was wrong. They didn't even step into an office area to hash it out! They used very loud voices that made other customers standing nearby, and myself to say the least, feel very, very uncomfortable. Scroll below and you will see other examples of the "snarky" employee attitude At this location. The manager spoke to my husband on the phone and apologized for her employees. We thank her and appreciate her acknowledgement of trouble at her locatin, and we wish her well. Meanwhile, we are happily shopping at the other location and other establishments where integrity is shown and policies are followed. Again, we don't need our egos stroked and we don't need to be remembered. Heck, we don't even need to be "appreciated!" Jewelry counter lost the box from a ring set I had on consignment. It did not sell and when I went to pick it up they could not find the box. They gave me a used, cheap wooden box with chips and scuffs on it as a replacement since they couldn't find my nice jeweler's box. Extremely upset and disappointed. read more

We have been to this store a few times looking for good finds. I'd say the furniture section of the store is good and the people in that section have been welcoming. BUT our experience with the jewelry section is what really upset me... My boyfriend and I circled the jewelry section waiting for someone to help us for over 15 minutes while the woman behind the counter completely ignored us and glared at us as if we were some peasants who could probably not afford her weak selection of jewelry..... When she finally greeted us, my boyfriend (who is very into watches) inquired about a vintage Rolex. While not getting up from her chair she said "You know that's a 10 thousand dollar watch" and glared up at him as if it were a waste of her time to show him the watch.... he actually really wanted to buy that watch but did not because of the way she treated us. Don't judge a book by its cover... We will never be buying anything from this woman. read more

First let me say I have been in your store many times, and the staff is always friendly and eager to help and quite professional. I recently purchased a dining room table set from here last week, and I was given the option to either have it delivered or I could pick it up anytime the store was open. Needless to say I came back the same evening and picked it up. I was so impressed with  how they handled my furniture. By the time I was pulling up on the side with the truck, my furniture was already making its way to the loading area. On top of that, the guys in the back actually wrapped the chairs and the table with plastic to prevent scratches. That was awesome and totally unexpected. Snarky doesn't begin to describe the attitude of most of the employees at this location! Even the folks at Neiman Marcus aren't this arrogant. I had just purchased an expensive ring a few days earlier and decided to visit the store again since they were advertising a Valetines Day jewelry sale. I stopped by the jewelry counter to say hello to the sales person, whose name I did not remember but thought she would be glad to help me select another item. Instead she "corrected me" telling me her name was Rose then promptly returned to her computer. She did not offer to help me. I then left and began to look for paintings. While doing so a boy asked if he could pet my miniature poodle, which I have always brought into both stores. An older woman rudely told me to pick up my dog if I was going to shop there. I put him in my purse and then asked for pricing on one of two paintings that were being marketed as a set although they obviously were not a set. This time a big blond woman who might have been the manager told me to buy both and "donate " the picture I did not want. The whole experience made me bristle and I told the employees that I was shocked at their rudeness compared to the other location where I am always greeted and helped with a kind and friendly attitude. (I had also purchashed another very nice ring from my favorite HCS this week). I was so mad that I told the employees that I was not going to shop at the Bee Cave location anymore. All three women were gathered together being unproductive at the time. Then the older woman said to me "I'm sorry you feel that way." I replied that SHE should feel sorry because she was losing business. I don' t think these women realize that pathetic service equals pathetic sales. Smart aleck employees usually get their attitude from their boss. That person needs training in customer service. I won' t shop there again. I'll drive to 183 and Braker because the ambience and customer service there is great. read more

Hmmm... I just didn't have the experiences of the others here. I agree that much of the stuff is ridiculously overpriced. They had used patio furniture (at the end of August) that was more expensive than if you were to buy it new at Macy's. On top of that when I asked for help, everyone was 'busy' until finally I found someone that couldn't tell me anything about the item I inquired about (including the cost!). When this poor woman asked a coworker a question, he snapped that he "wasn't going to do her job for her". Er ok, how about just helping the customers? I bought several pieces here 2 years ago over a 6 month period. I was satisfied and felt like I got a good deal. Was searching for some items recently to change up my decor and furniture. Went 2 times over 2 weeks and found their prices WAY TOO HIGH this time around for resale furniture. If you go to Wayfair or Joss and Main (free delivery and new) it's a much better deal. I'm all about buying local and supporting small business, but when they gouge you, it's not motivating to trade w them. read more

Just want to add... Great place to walk through and look. I have made inquiries about purchasing jewelry and furniture; the employees were hard to find ( in front of the computers ) behind the screens, doors, etc..., could not provide information and I FELT very belittled for interrupting them from their exciting sales life and requesting information. So if, I MIGHT visit again, I know to keep my mouth shut, eyes down and money in my pocket. "Salespeople" takes on a whole new dimension. read more

stop in often , high inventory turn over and pieces sell quickly. When you find a piece you like ask if it's the best price bc there's a time period that isn't on the tag and prices are sometimes lower than tag. Yippee savings for you! Staff always helpful, if it fits in your car/truck they will load, if you need delivery it can be arranged for a fee. I'm a regular here and love the unique pieces that I see come and go.
