Stopped at Connie's thanks to Yelp on the way home from Ithaca and loved our meal there. We simply had the Connie breakfast which was two eggs, homefries, sausage and toast. At $6 or so, it was a steal. I got an extra egg added on. The diner itself is beautiful. So much memorabilia and decor to transport you back to the 50s and such a quaint little place to dine. At about 9:30am on a Saturday morning, it was absolutely full but we were able to snag a few bar seats without a wait. Score! The coffee we ordered was charged reasonably at $1.50 or so (some diners love to tack on $2++ coffee charges and I'm glad this one is not following the trend) and the eggs were cooked perfectly along with the home fries and sausage (you get a choice of links or patty). I adored this diner and wouldn't hesitate to stop here again! read more

Decided to get take out for dinner. There were several specials but I opted to pick from the menu. I got the hot turkey dinner. It came with dressing, cranberry sauce and a choice of 2 sides. I chose the mashed potatoes with gravy and a salad. The turkey tasted like it was cut off the bone. Very tender. The potatoes were good as well as the stuffing. The gravy pulled it all together. What a sad lunch me and my husband had here The place is freezing, so bring a sweater or a shawl. The place is also a really busy & they might have been short staffed because the waitress didn't really have much time for us. We both ordered the liver & onion dinner. The liver was burned, the huge mount of onions couldn't mask that. The mashed potatoes tasted odd. The gravy was the only good part about the dinner. My husband also ordered a shake but it was a bit too watery. We were here a year before and loved this place. Really sad that it didn't stay the way we remembered it. read more

Whenever I travel home to the Finger Lakes I always make it a point to eat at Connie's. Their portions are generous and the food is always delicious. Just about the only place to get a hamburger quickie (hamburger and French fries smothered in brown gravy). On this trip we indulged in one of their most impressive milkshakes. Ours was the strawberry cheesecake shake. Complete with an entire piece of cheesecake! My only downside is they only take cash, so when coming here be prepared. They do have an ATM in their lobby so that helps! read more

An awesome diner. Low prices, fast service, fun ambiance, and most importantly excellent food. Breakfast all day and fantastic desserts means endless combinations. I recommend the Pancakes, Belgian Waffle, and Hash Browns (which are utterly delicious). Their bacon is crispy and flavorful too! I love breakfast food here, but in terms of savory options, the Mozzarella Sticks, Buffalo Wings, and NY Strip Steak are all great choices. There are plenty of pies for dessert if that's your thing, but I prefer an ice cream cone. I've been coming here for years, and I'm never disappointed. Wow, the breakfast was delicious. I had the NY cheesecake waffle with cherries and whipped cream topping. My friend had the crab cakes Benedict. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Our waitress was attentive and our coffee was always full. An overall wonderful way to start our weekend. read more

Would have loved to experience the one-of-a-kind sundae selection everybody raves about. Boyfriend and I are both in wheelchairs. Called to inquire about wheelchair access and was told there WAS none. Obviously they are hiding behind the 'historical site' clause of the ADA. Perhaps they should join the rest of us in the 21st century. Giving one star because they answered the phone and were honest when I called. read more

Stopped by around 11am on a Sunday morning to grab a late breakfast. Was excited to see in the reviews that they had homemade corned beef hash. Our waitress was great, quick service, coffee right away I ordered the farmers omelette with a side of corned beef hash. Took a bit for the food to come out but they were busy so understandable. The corned beef has was just ok, tasted like there was too much Worcestershire sauce mixed in when they made it. The omelette was big, I was disappointed to see the canned mushrooms, and frozen broccoli bits mixed in with the potatoes and onions. the potatoes were not crisp enough either. You can tell you have just stepped back in time. Sign reads " No Wi-Fi. Talk to each other." Egg and olive on rye toast, cup of Joe. Grilled Hoffman hotdog with mustard and onions. Fries the best. Leave room for their pies. Always a favorite and we will get off I 90 just to stop there or make it a slow trip when traveling east or west just to stop at Connie's. read more

Being from NJ diners are my bread and butter! Love the retro feel of this place. Unfortunately inside didn't feel as distanced was it could have been- I know upstate is about 50% capacity but it seemed like most tables were taken and the bar was obviously empty. We chose to sit outside because it was safer and no wait! The fried pickles were some of the best I've ever had- everything was reasonably priced and the waitress was very very nice. A word to the wise- don't order anything sugary if outside- there is a bee issue they are doing their best to adjust but foot to know if you have an allergy ! read more

Stopped here after a day of shopping at the outlets. It was still early afternoon and I opted for breakfast. My friend decided on lunch. Scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries and raisin toast. Eggs were a little over cooked but ok with me. The home fries were cut in circle slices which is different but were good. Bacon was crispy and raisin toast great. All for $6.15 after 11:00 am . Cheaper before that. My friend had a tuna melt- cheesy and with a tomato, a pickle and chips for $4.99. Great deal! We had water with lemon so our lunch was a little over $12. Not bad. Lots to choose from- breakfast, lunch and dinner is covered. If you are ever in the area, be sure to stop by. read more

1.5/5.This was a truly disappointing experience. They are long on 50's diner decor and short on service and food quality. When we saw this place on the road it looked interesting. When we saw the reviews we were excited to try it. So we stopped by on a Tuesday night and joined a few other groups waiting at the door for service. No service was provided. While they were certainly busy and pretty much full so I understand that we couldn't be seated. But at no point in the more than 10 minutes we waited did anyone say anything to us. No "be right with you folks." No "we'll get you seated as soon as we have something available." Just a few awkward moments of eye contact with random servers. So we decided to walk out and come back later. The next morning we stopped in again, hoping our experience had been an anomaly. After a brief wait we were seated. Things went better this time but they were still not good. The waitress was pleasant but minimally attentive. But the food was on par with a low grade cafeteria. Not sure what everyone else sees in this place but I would look else where. read more

We had dinner at Connie's almost four years ago. I had the vegetarian lasagna, which was delicious and reasonably-priced. The service was prompt and efficient. There was 50's music playing continuously - and while we liked the music, it was very loud. Hours: 5:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m. on Tuesday-Saturday and 6:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. on Sundays. read more

Have been here many times. The four of us came on a usual busy Friday lunch time. The specials board greets diners first with several items that change daily, including 3 soups (they rarely disappoint). A haddock sandwich delivered a very nice piece of lightly breaded fish, but the 8" roll was badly burnt. Had a new one sent out. A big mound of diced slaw with tasty dressing was ordered - extra. The beans & greens with sausage soup had a good mix. Homemade lasagna was a good-sized mound with just enough good pasta sauce was generally enjoyed here, but took most of it home where I had time to leaf thru the pasta layers and found nothing between them! The good meat, sauce and 3 cheeses must have been on the outside. Chose a side salad (iceberg, onion, grape tomatoes and croutons). Our friends had a good enough broiled haddock with mac salad and mashed. One had decent French toast with greasy frozen-sold hash browns and 3 sausage links which seemed as if they were all fat! read more

I get takeout at Connie's at least three times a week. I would eat there every day if I could afford it. I love their spaghetti sauce so I always get a side of spaghetti with my meal. You can get two sides with your entree. For my second side I always get coleslaw. I. Wish they would open on Sunday, especially in the summer. When I lived in Rochester, I used to drive to Connie's once a week. The prices are affordable and the food is good. What more could you ask for? Good service? The best! Always friendly and courteous. Delicious!!!! Get the trash plate, you won't regret it. Great service and quality food. We ate at Portico the night before (upscale casino restaurant) and enjoyed our meal at Connie's soooo much more. Service was excellent (thanks Amy!) and the food was fresh and well prepared.
