This place is a hidden little gem. The service was lovely, the waitress was polite, funny, and just one of those people you can't help but like. The ambiance is very 50's diner and I loved it. There's a lot of diners that try to pull off the the 50's look and feel but this place certainly feels and is 50's. It's well done and truly fantastic. Then lastly there's the food, the food was wonderful! A nice decently priced steak and eggs with rye toast made my morning and started the day up well! This place is nostalgic. I remember visiting here as a young child. Always fiddling with the mini jukebox that sits atnthe table. Waiting for Mom to give me change to play a song or two while we ate. That was always my favorite memory growing up. I visit here from time to time. It has been over 59 years just for me. Still the same as I remmbered. My sister went with me recently and she gleemed at how much it looks the same and she isnin her seventies! There are old movie star pictures and just l7ke I remmber those junkboxes at the booths. Crome and green/blue with some red. Really just you back in time! Big windows, old melabia on the walls. They even have a counter with the stools attached like when you went for a milk shake. My husband and I went there for dinner. We were very happy with what we ordered. He had roast beef sandwich smothered in rich gravy and golden brown French fries. I ordered a hot steak and cheese wrap with onion and papers. It was wonderful! Just like I used to make. The steak was tender like steak um steak. My favorite. I will be going back again! They had a fire there a while back so I am glad to announce theynare back open and jam packed all the time!! Trust me people wait and it will be worth it. Better then some expensive Italian restraunt we visited and was scolded for not giving them 5 stars. I was told to go to 5 star restraunts. I have been and have not looked back lol. They are a cash only business. No internet avalable. I only know because they had a funny home made sign that read... Went for a road trip to the Casino and Sauders and ended up at Connie's Diner for lunch. So glad we stopped, great service, great food and a fair price. Loved the atmosphere. Came for the milkshakes, will be coming back for the food...and the milkshakes! My fiancée and I saw a post about these amazing milkshakes that Connie's created and we wanted to try one for ourselves. We went in for dinner, and being a diner, we weren't expecting much in terms of food, but oh man, we were pleasantly surprised! I started off with the chili and my fiancée got the mozzarella sticks. The chili was standard and exactly what I expect for chili, nothing more, nothing less. I'm not a fan of mozzarella sticks but other half loved them. For my entree, I got the chicken parmesan, a side of fries and a side salad and she got the trash plate with a cheeseburger and a hotdog and added chopped jalapeños on top. My salad and fries were standard. My only complaint is that the fries had no salt on them, but once I put some ketchup on them, they were fine. The chicken parmesan was so much better than I was prepared to get. The breading was light but crispy and surrounded two huge juicy chicken breasts, just perfectly cooked. They definitely were not stingy with the mozzarella on top. Every bite of chicken seemed to come with a forkful of stretchy, delicious mozzarella. And if it couldn't get better, the sauce had so much more flavor than I've ever had from a diner. I've gone to a lot of Italian restaurants and I've paid a lot more for a lot less. And there was so much, I couldn't even make it to the second piece. My fiancée also raved about her trash plate. The trash plate comes with the two meats, smothered in an awesome meat sauce, fries, and macaroni salad. I should note that if you haven't had a trash plate before, the burger and hot dogs do not have buns, they're just the meat. The burger was cooked perfectly, which has been very hit or miss for us at restaurants throughout the region. The hotdog, interesting, had some sort of baking spice on it ~ it tasted like cinnamon and nutmeg, which surprisingly went really well with it, especially combined with the meat sauce and jalapeños. The fries actually absorbed a bunch of the liquid from the meat sauce and became phenomenal. The mac salad offered a nice refreshing flavor to the mix that pulled the whole dish together. Last, but certainly not least, we bought the cannoli milkshake. It tastes as amazing as it looks. It came with two mini cannolis which were sweet with flaky crunchy shells. The milkshake alone tastes like a real cannoli and worth every penny. Then it's topped with this thick, heavy, sweet whipped cream and chocolate chips and dusted with crushed cannoli shell. We were scraping the chocolate and cannoli shell off the sides and dipping it in the whipped cream. This was easily my favorite milkshake I've had in recent memory. We will definitely be back for both the stellar food and awe-inspiring shakes!!! I should also mention that we came on a busy Saturday night and were seated right away and our server was able to check up on us regularly. It was actually really impressive. The food also came out fast and fresh. I definitely recommend checking this place out for an amazing and cheap dinner experience in the Finger Lakes. read more

Great place to stop for breakfast - nostalgic 1950s style diner. Busy Sunday morning and they didn't take names at door - people just stayed in an orderly line for first come, first serve. There is counter service so you can skip the line if there's an open stool. FYI - cash only - they don't take credit cards or checks. Plenty of staff hustling and they all took turns bringing the coffee pots around to everyone, not just their own tables. We did wait awhile for our food to come but again it was a busy Sunday. When it did arrive it was hot and fresh. Bacon was crispy as were the delicious home fried potatoes. My omelette filled the plate and the filling was very generous. Though I'd prefer fresh mushrooms, the canned ones in the omelette were okay. There was a great selection of dessert and the waitress said the lemon pie was homemade so we ordered a piece to share. The meringue was very tall and fluffy, the crust was light, and although the lemon filling was a bit sweet for me (I like it tart), it all worked and was delicious. I liked the old school decor and could easily read up and appreciate the diner's history on the cover of the menu. The Connie's classic meal was AFFORDABLE, delicious and filling. One of the Finest diners outside of New Jersey that I have had the pleasure to dine in. When I read about the fountain service, the first thing I asked the waitress is whether they served egg creams. She was quite puzzled and said she never heard of them. I guess it is a downstate thing. Despite this, Connies serves multitudes of milkshakes and ice cream sundaes and all sorts of other good stuff. I wasn't in the market for something that fattening for lunch, so I ordered a tuna salad on rye with lettuce tomato and sweet onion and, I have to tell you, it was one of the best tuna fish sandwiches I have ever had. Connies served it with a huge plate of fries which were perfect. There are juke boxes at the table which is fun. The bathrooms were clean, something you don't find out a lot of restaurants. All the staff wore Connie shirts and seemed very friendly and proud to be working at Connies. Even though there was a large crowd in the restaurant, we receded quickly and served our food quickly as well. A great place. read more

Finally got to you here and it was nice. My chili cheese hot dog was ok, The chili on top wasn't fully cooked it was lukewarm and the cheese on top wasn't melted at all as advertised. I had a good root beer float and the ambiance inside is great. Cute little jukeboxes at each table but none of them are able to be used it's just for decor. Great 50's music playing and the decor is vintage/nostalgic I liked it:) prices were fair and food came right Away. Fantastic! Drove in from the Rochester area to meet family and ordered the chicken dinner, mashed potatoes and a salad. My only suggestion would be to not melt an entire small plastic ramekin full of butter to pour over the mashed potatoes. It was far too much. We all ordered something different, and everyone's looked delicious. Sadly we didn't save room for dessert, as they looked fantastic and I've heard nothing but rave reviews about their milkshakes! This is the epitome of a diner - and I am from NJ, the diner capital of the world!!!! It's exactly what you expect when you think of a typical diner of yesteryear. Counters, booths, jukeboxes on the tables (albeit no longer working) and a display of desserts behind the counter. Retro signs (not original but still really cool) and the perfect menu made us smile. I ordered a BLT on toasted rye with fries. He ordered a hot roast beef sandwich smothered in brown gravy, with fries also smothered in brown gravy. This was all really, really good, but the real winner of the meal was the chocolate malt he ordered. Not only was it perfect - made in an old-fashioned milk-shake machine - but there was enough for two people to share. And you better know I accepted his offer to share ;) Sometimes you just need the comfort of an old fashioned diner. If we are ever anywhere near there, we will absolutely be back! read more

Let's start off with the good: Food was good. We had ham clubs - thinly sliced deli meat as all deli meat should be sliced! If you want some thick slabs on your sandwich please stay home and save the rest of us from Thanksgiving slabs on a sandwich. Grilled cheese and sweet potato fries. Jalapeño corn chowder soup - all good. Prices are very reasonable. Now the bad. For the love of all that is holy - please retire the waitress Betty Anne. She could be 40, she could be 80. Who knows because we all know career waitresses at diners age very differently. So slow...as in it took 30 minutes for her to shuffle over and take our order. And then she's worried about bussing the tables. Get separate table bussers! It's always busy here, and other waitresses had people sit down after us, and left way before us. read more

I usually never have anything negative to say about a place. But Connie's has managed to really piss me off. I am diabetic and have limited choices with drinks. If a diner can offer Caffeine free and sugar free I have no problem paying for a drink. Otherwise I will bring my own. But not only did they not have anything to offer but demanded I take my drink outside. And if someone says it's a "safety" thing that is not even close to true . It's just plain greed. This diner is cute, and has a nice menu, but when there was a problem with one of the items we ordered, we were told by our sever, "they probably won't take it off the bill". I'm sorry, but that is unacceptable. The item in this case was a side order of corned beef hash to go with our breakfast entrees. The hash looked great, but when both my wife and I tasted it, it was so salty that neither of us could eat it. Our server told us "you guys must not like salt". I said, we do like salt, very much in fact. However, the amount of salt in this dish was overwhelming. Nevertheless, we did not eat the hash, but we were still charged for it. I was staying in Seneca Falls for a couple of days and a lack of breakfast choices led me here because of good reviews and it was nearby. It's an old fashioned diner with a standard menu and some specials done really well. It was very crowded when we first walked in but we didn't wait long as customers were constantly coming and going. I ordered the special Sausage Gravy and Biscuit and my mom got the short stack of regular pancakes well what came looked like a big bowl of gravy and 2 giant hubcaps! By no means was this a bad thing. There happened to be a tender biscuit buried under that delicious, thick gravy and the pancakes were so fluffy and moist they almost didn't need syrup. Service was so pleasant (and very fast for these parts) and we enjoyed everything so we came back the next morning where I had Corned Beef Hash with Eggs and mom had Oatmeal, again, well done. LOVED this diner! Our meals were absolutely delicious. I ordered the Italian style French toast, which is apparently a thicker-than-Texas toast option. SO good! My boyfriend got the bacon Bleu steak and rates the meal as a 4 out of 5 because the steak didn't seem to have salt or pepper on it (a little bland but still tasty). Pricing was great- we paid $30 for two meals, sodas, and a sundae! Also, and I can't say this loud enough- the diner is immaculate and incredibly maintained! Family of 4 and 3 of us were unhappy with their meals. The 4th was a burger. Waitress had no hustle at all and appeared to not care if we were happy. My daughter's hot meal was cold. On our way back from Buffalo to Ithaca, we were looking for a place for dinner since most of the Thruway areas were under construction. At the Geneva/Waterloo exit to rt 14 we searched for nearby diners. Connie's was the closest. What a find! Loved the 50's vibe, the waitresses were terrific and the food was pure comfort. We both had the meatloaf dinner with mash potatoes and plenty of brown gravy, sides were a great homemade coleslaw. Delicious and satisfying.
