This place is truly very good! Honestly nothing is quite wrong here, I got the hungryman's breakfast, the pancakes were nice and fluffy, and the sausage and eggs were also great. Both my parents were also happy with their meal. It's got a nice little classic diner vibe, with a nice-ish view. Our server was nice enough, and it was just a nice overall vibe. Friendly service, good food, and a nice environment make this a great stop. Quick service. Perfect portions. Friendly service. If you're passing through Waterloo or living nearby, this is a great morning breakfast spot. My wife and I pulled off the Thruway in search of a diner for breakfast. We walked in, seated ourselves, and had Jody bring us 2 cups of hot coffee within 2 minutes. People were chatting at a normal volume and the music was just right so you didn't have to talk over it but could still hum along to The Cars if you wanted to. I got the stuffed French toast with strawberries & whipped cream; my wife got the pecan and peaches Belgian waffle with whipped cream and a side of home fries. Both came out of the kitchen in 5-7 minutes at a perfect temperature and a smile from our server. The home fries were just right - not too much onion and nicely chopped. I ordered a cheeseburger, it came out with the roll bloodied on one side. When i cut into it more blood came out. I asked the waitress to take it off the bill. She came back and said the cook will make you a new one. I said no take it off the bill. Then she came back and said she would change the roll out since that was the problem. 4/21/24- This was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. It took forever to get our order placed to start with. Then we ordered a hot turkey sandwich and fries, plus a hot roast beef sandwich and French fries- a very simple order. We never, ever got any fries despite reminding/asking the waitress at least 3 separate times. One of those times was "please don't forget about our fries because we're almost done eating our sandwiches now". Well we completely finished the sandwiches, waited another 5-10 minutes, still no fries so we just gave up, paid and left. Maybe the waitress was in training, who knows, but this should not have happened. Then that roast beef on the sandwich was unlike any roast beef we'd ever seen- it was very light gray colored- looking like roast pork, not brown like roast beef always is. Absolutely the worst service I've ever experienced. Dont bother going in on a Sunday. They closed at 2 and my husband and I came in at 1:20. The staff started freaking out. The first thing the waitress said to us when we were seated was we close at 2.....ok. Another couple came in after us and thats when the older waitress really started to lose her cool. The whole restaurant could hear her loudly complaining in the back. She said "get them in and get them out." Literally the whole time we were eating the staff did nothing but complain about customers being there. Another customer tried coming in to eat at 1:30 and they told him they were closed and kicked him out. If you dont want diners in past 1, then you need to close at 1. Well after an issue quite awhile back I returned went to breakfast waitress brought menu I told her I' m ready to order she told me 'I'm not' and walked away. Finally came back took our order left my coffee then asked if I needed creamers. Returned with my creamers. Took my order the other waitress brought my food I had to ask for jelly. No one ever came back to see if I wanted anything else or bring more coffee, even though she was at the 2 tables next to me twice. Went to check out asked if she gave me the senior discount. She said yes. I asked where is it on my receipts for was pretty much just dismissed. I came in and got baked ziti with meatballs and the person I was with got lasagna and I got the salad bar. The lasagna and the baked ziti with meatballs came out from the kitchen in 5 minutes and I could tell that it was not cooked right and it was cold and it was very obvious that it wasn't fresh. We sat ourselves, the place had a relaxed and quiet feel to it. We noticed everyone currently in the place was of a older generation, no biggie, that usually means better prices. It wasn't super busy but only had one lady working. We ordered 2 coffees a #1 working man (3 eggs, 3 bacon, 3 sausage, homefries and cinnamon bread it was 50 cents extra) for me and the wife got the cheese delight (bacon, eggs, cheese, hash browns and sourdough bread (50 cents extra). Immediately no. Just no. If you don't want to read the whole thing, just know that I would never recommend this place. It was extremely busy for 1:30pm on a Saturday, the few tables they had were pretty full. We started out with death stares from employees and customers who clearly didn't want others there, then the waitress made another group of people move to a different table so we could sit down because we had a larger group then them (still only 5 people). They took our drink orders (and didn't get them right), and then took our food orders as well. When the waitress carried our food over, my plate of pasta was pushed into her stomach and the shirt on her boob literally touched my food. I got seafood alfredo, the crab looked like tuna fish that had been swallowed by a cat and then coughed back up, and I bit down on bone/shell. I could not finish my food (ate as much as shown in the picture) and after reading the other reviews and also the health score, I'm low key trying not to throw up rn. Someone else in our party got the chicken tenders which were like rubber on the inside and burnt to a crisp on the outside-the fries were also very overdone as well. The bathroom was minuscule-barely could even fit inside to close the door. The waitress walked by and literally coughed into our hair. When we told the chef and waitress about the problems, they took off the price of my dish and that was it. Overall, the whole thing was very sketchy and not a good experience.
