It's pretty cool, then, to see new little spots like Daisy's popping up right after the new bike and pedestrian trail built over the old trolley line opened. Coincidence? Maybe! But if you're passing through rural Rensselaer county on your bike and feeling a little peckish, then Daisy's is an excellent new breakfast and lunch option just a short distance off the trail. Daisy's is brand new, so there are still kinks to work out -- our lovely waitress was struggling with her fancy electronic ordering machine, and there was a lot of confused running around in the kitchen. The food, though, was absolutely solid. My mom was a bit skeptical about the price of her BLT before she ordered, but took it back once she received her gigantic sandwich made with perfectly fresh ingredients and served with a mound of some of the tastiest Mac salad that either of us had ever had (plus a bag of chips!). My cup of the soup of the day was hot and flavorful (if slightly over over salted). The weakest link in the whole meal was the oddly soft hard roll for my breakfast sandwich: I'd ask for it toasted next time. Daisy's also serves local Tierra Farms coffee, which is a nice touch, and there were some really nice-looking treats in the pastry case. Overall this is a super cute little place that does a pretty good job of hitting the sweet spot between an old-fashioned small-town diner and a more modern cafe (with plans to add more vegetarian/vegan options to the menu). I'll absolutely come back, and I hope that places like this continue to open up and thrive in small communities around the region.

Let me tell you this. The food taste like generic diner food. They seem to have a very extensive menu that is over priced and just feels like it belongs in California. I had the iced orange vanilla cold brew for a drink. It was not very good. The cold brew taste like it came from the jugs of cold brew you get at Walmart. I tried an everything bagel with plain schmear ( cream cheese just call it what it is). The bagel i kid you not taste like Walmart or aldi bagels. For $5 I expect a decent bagel that is either homemade or at least was purchased at a bagel shop daily to be sold here. I also had the eggs Benedict. The hollandaise was bland and I swear to all of you who read this it taste like it was made from hollandaise powder packets. The homefries that came with it were also bland and had no flavor. After everything is said and done I would not recommend this place to anyone. They would need to have a serious menu over haul and find the spice rack for me to come back or recommend this place.

It was my mistake that I didn't ask before I ordered. This matcha was premixed and came out looking a slightly greenish off white rather than a rich grassy color. I didn't dock points for the matcha though because a ton of places don't do this drink well. My sandwich was good enough but it overall lacked flavor. The eggs were under seasoned and I wish the waffle was crispy versus soggy. It also didn't have much bacon on it. The home fries were excellent though. Perfect color and seasoning, no notes. Everyone else in my party really enjoyed their meals and I'm sure we will be back. The menu is extensive and I'm sure there are some other things that I would enjoy so I'm looking forward to trying something else next time.
