The food here was phenomenal. Loved the brunch burger and could barely finish even half of it. The leftovers were just as good! The server was really nice, fun and just overall cheery which was infectious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only downside I had was we were seated next to a window and it was absolutely freezing by it (9 degrees out when we went.)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That said we will be back and I cant wait to try other parts of the menu.
I really appreciate the frequent updates to the menu/specials to include unique offerings that include some featured locally produced foods and seasonal choices. The concepts behind the menu design include good flavor profile combinations that feature simple farmhouse ideas that are elevated with interesting twists, such as pot roast with campfire coffee gravy. It is nice to find test that still make things like condiments or pickles in-house.

I selected grilled chicken though they also offered fried. They wrapped it perfectly, and there was no dressing dripping out of the wrap as so often happens. The fries were crispy and lightly salted. Everything was perfect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathroom was clean and welcoming despite this diner having a pretty rapid turnover.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated near the window and were able to watch someone in a glider fly over the lake.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would definitely recommend and return.
I visited their food truck Redneck Reuben Union at Great Northern Food truck takeover. Very short line and friendly staff. I had heard a lot of hype about an over the top Reuben from this establishment. Not sure which sandwich that was. I ended up ordering a Reuben and a corn beef sandwich. After a short wait both came out hot of the griddle. The Reuben a perfect blend of salty, sour, and rich, a true classic. Though the corned beef was hot and fresh as well just not to my liking, though I shared and it was happily consumed. The Reuben definitely rival some of the Irish local pubs. I'm not sure which sandwich on the menu was the hyped up version. Maybe the Reubano? I didn't come across it this visit, maybe next time. $31.50 for the too sandwiches. Went here for lunch with my friend and had a great lunch. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a burger with an egg on it. Food came out really great. Really enjoyed the flavor. Service was great and energy was a smaller hometown cafe. Would definitely go back when I'm in town again to try dinner.
Since the updated menu dropped, I've been anxious to try the baklava Johnny cakes. Today was the day! We made a reservation earlier in the week and our table was waiting for us (my mom and I) when we arrived a bit early. Everything was fantastic! The eggs with the hash were cooked perfectly. The baklava Johnny cakes are something unique and they are executed very well. At some point, I'd love to try dinner here.

We both chose the chicken and waffles which has a perfect blend of salt sweet and crunchy chicken with two eggs however you like them, home fries crispy fresh potatoes pieces and syrup to I'll the crevices of the waffles so very good and leftovers too!

I ordered the Baklava Corn Cakes, and WOW--easily one of the best things I've ever eaten. Perfectly sweet, nutty, and indulgent without being too heavy. I'll be dreaming about them for a long time! We also got the Cat Head Biscuit, but we were so full from our meals that we had to save it for later--can't wait to enjoy it as an afternoon treat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The portions are generous, the flavors are incredible, service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere was so fun making it a place we'll definitely be coming back to.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definite want to try some lunch and dinner options! Home cooked food with an exciting menu. Lots of options to choose from making it hard to pick. I got the avocado toast and this was light and not too filling but perfect for a light breakfast. We shared the biscuit which was large and we had some to even take home, definitely enough for two people. My husband got one of the breakfast burgers and the Cajun fries and he really liked that. Service was great and everyone was friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small place but was not to busy when we went on a weekend.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
Went back for another breakfast and ordered the hash entree with eggs. Swapped out breakfast potatoes for cat head biscuit. The hash - phenomenonal. Brought half of it home - covered the plate! The biscuit was huge, but dry and hard. Probably good as a foundation for sausage gravy, but not on its own. Next trip is for dinner. The menu looks fantastic!

As always, excellent service and wonderful food. They get very busy so it's always a good idea to make a reservation. I love Christian's amazing recipes and he puts ingredients together like a magician. Sometimes I just need something simple and I know my food is going to be great. I wanted one of their delicious hamburgers but no roll and an egg on top, coleslaw and lettuce, tomato, onion on the side. It was everything I asked for.... simple and beautifully prepared. I normally order the Reuben because it's always so good but I ordered the Irish car bomb for a change. It was amazing! I got my corned beef but also a hamburger in the bun along with yummy dressing. It came with fries also. Split the soup (New England clam chowder) with my friend. The chowder was creamy but not too thick and yummy. I always love to come here for lunch when I'm in the area. read more

Fantastic food and really nice server. We got the spinach and ricotta scramble, a special menu item I can't remember, plus a 'side' of waffles and a side of corned beef hash. Great portions too! Will go back ASAP! read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute and cozy little diner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They suggest calling ahead for seating and they had a table ready and waiting for us but there were multiple open seats for walking in too. My dad got the Cowboy which was a giant dense and buttery biscuit covered with multiple meats, eggs, potatoes, and gravy and it was steaming hot. I built my own breakfast with some large choc. chip pancakes, super thick cut bacon, and some eggs and toast. The waitress was super nice and food came out quick. I will definitely go back to try the dinner menu some time. read more

Finally tried their new menu and it's phenomenal so far. Like my prior reviews say, we order lunch here from work very frequently. This past week was my choice to pick where we order out for lunch and I chose Brewer Union! I am so pleased so far. I ordered a sweet potato/black bean burger and it was exactly what I dreamed of. If you love sweet potatoes, you'll love this dish. The "burger" is sweet potato smashed into burger form with a little char and black beans mixed in and the rest is typical burger form. Sweet potato lovers dream. My coworkers ordered the Yonder Blue Steak and it was their favorite so far. Please give this place a try if you're in the area. read more

Very cute small place a little bit off the beaten path for us but we had heard good things and wanted to give it a try. We didn't have a reservation/call ahead, but were seated right away (we got lucky, I saw lots of people leave) and service was fast and attentive throughout. We had the build a breakfast and got eggs, pancakes, bacon, breakfast potatoes and biscuits. The cathead biscuits are huge! Everything was good. Coffee is Recess and pancakes are New hope mills. Call ahead to be sure you get a table, it gets busy. read more

Brewer Union has been one of my favorites for years now! You immediately are treated like family - the owners are always there, you can see the pride they take in their work. The food itself has such an upscale feel, whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner. Brewer Union is always worth the drive. They have a traditional diner vibe with an elevated menu. I always come back here for the comfort food they offer. This time we were surprised that there was a wait at the restaurant but were seated by our very attentive server after a few minutes. We ordered the poutine (my favorite!) and the bam bam burger. Also got the side salad with their champagne poppy dressing. Everything was delicious as usual. The meat in the poutine was braised perfectly and the gravy was rich and salty. The burger was cooked perfectly and the chili oil added a kick to the dish. The fries on the side were crispy and peppery. Never a bad experience here! Also the portions were huge and fair for the price. Will definitely recommend this place. read more
I've been here once before, but my dad had read great reviews and wanted to check it out. He was not disappointed! He is a big corned beef hash snob and said it was some of the best he has ever had! The eggs Benedict special was calling my name. It was the perfect balance of sweet and savory with the berry compote on top. We also split one of their legendary cat head biscuits. I couldn't even finish half! It was that big! Perfectly buttery and went well with the various jams and honey that they offered on the side. You will never leave hungry when you come here! read more

My friend and I went to Brewer Union Cafe for breakfast this morning. This was our 1st time there. It's where Brewerton Diner used to be and the signs are still there. So don't get confused like we did. It's a small but cute place with really friendly staff. Recess Coffee, YES! My favorite! Locally sourced products, innovated menu, and super talented chef make this place a hit. We both decided to get out of our comfort zone and order something that we normally wouldn't. I got the Bennies. English muffin, ham, elderberry, poached eggs, and hollandaise. This was the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had. The ham was thick cut real ham, the hollandaise was smooth and delicious, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the addition of the elderberry added just a touch of sweetness that I never knew it needed. I also got a cathead biscuit on the side because I had to try it. This thing was huge and I will be eating it for days. The texture was perfect and it was loaded with flavor. They served it with local strawberry and grape jam. My friend ordered the hash. It was obviously fresh and homemade. It was so good. She loved that and her poached eggs. She also ordered a side of fresh berries. A mix of strawberries and blueberries that were so fresh. There is so much more on the menu I can't wait to try. read more

Had been reading about this cafe on a Facebook Group I follow and since we were going to be driving by, I wanted to try it out, and I am so glad we did! Everything was delicious! It's small inside and right now only about 7 tables but once covid restrictions are lifted they might add a few tables. We both started off with Chai and it was one of the best chai's I've had! Had read that the Yardbird Chicken sandwich was a must try and it was Delicious!!!!! Maybe one of the best chicken sandwiches I have had! The combination of the sauce and pickles was amazing!!!! Had read that their weekend special The Tri-State Bagel was a must-try and it was was also yummy.! Fried Egg with Jersey roll and American cheese on an everything bagel with smashed hash browns. Also grabbed a brownie and Cinnamon Bun to-go! Had a little bit of the brownie and it was rich and delicious. Can't wait to try the cinnamon bun! Service was amazing! Our waitress could not have been nicer! Can't wait to go back and try some more! read more

The menu says "ask about our gluten free options" but the menu doesn't describe anything like "GF bun" or "GF noodles" or adding a GF next to the name to show it's without gluten, etc., which would be very easy to include, so what are the GF options?
Hello! We have GF options for everything besides the cathead biscuit (we can have them available if you call a couple days prior) and the Cinnamon buns. Everything else on the menu is either gf or has the option to be gf. We even have a gf dessert…
